E_ADEPT_UNKNOWN

We are setting up a test environment for ACS and get the following error when trying to upload any file but the supplied sample files:
There was an error with the Package Request
<error xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/adept" data="E_ADEPT_UNKNOWN http://domain_name:8080/packaging/Package"/>
The PDF files we are trying to package are all between 6Mb and 30Mb with the XML file:
<package xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/adept">
                <metadata xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">
                                <dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format>
                </metadata>
                <permissions>
                                <display>
                                                <device/>
                                                <until>2013-01-13T13:10:49-07:00</until>
                                </display>
                                <excerpt>
                                                <until>2013-01-13T13:10:49-07:00</until>
                                </excerpt>
                                <print>
                                                <count initial="10" max="20" incrementInterval="3600"/>
                                                <maxResolution>300</maxResolution>
                                </print>
                </permissions>
</package>
Is this because the evaluation server works only with the sample files, or are we doing something ells wrong?

Please try the datapath method of packaging the files.

    I'm getting error retrieving AdobeID credentials message. E_ADEPT_UNKNOWN. How do i fix this?

    More details please?  Where are you getting this message?  On Adobe Digital Editions itself, on a tablet device?  If on a device, what app is it running?

  • "E_ADEPT_UNKNOWN" epub - import failure

    Can anyone help, lately I have an import failer when downloading my purchased books from BookOnBoard. I was only able to download 1 book, rest of them are failing to import. The error message is "Import failed E_ADEPT_UNKNOWN http://ascepub.contenreserve.com/fulfillment/Fulfill"
    I never had this problem previously. Does anyone know what this error means?
    Thanks

    Update - this appears to be some kind of error with Google Chrome browser on Android.  A work-round that worked for me was to download Firefox, uninstall Aldiko then reinstall it via Firefox and Google play (accessed via Firefox not through the app) then re-authorise my device.  When I logged onto the library ebook service, via Firefox, I was able to download books fine.  Thought this might help anybody else getting the same error message.

  • Packaging large files ( 200mb) using dataPath mode

    Hi...
    I have a problem when trying to package an eBook >200mb to my test environment with Adobe Content Server.
    Here's the XML I have constructed for the eBook:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <package xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/adept">
         <action>add</action>
         <dataPath>complete path to PDF/EPUB file</dataPath>
    </package>
    Here's the command used for trying to package the book:
    java.exe -Xms512M -Xmx1024M -jar C:\AdobeContentServer\uploadtest\UploadTest-1_2.jar http://localhost:8080/packaging/Package C:\eBooks -datapath -xml -pass password -verbose
    Here's the error response (with -verbose) given in the console window:
    <error xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/adept" data="E_ADEPT_UNKNOWN http://localhost:
    8080/packaging/Package"/>
    In the packaging.log, I read that the java process complains about heap size, which is weird, because I have specifically told java to use between 512mb and 1024mb.
    How can this be fixed?

    Anyone?
    PS. It works with smaller files than 200mb...
    Edit:
    Increasing Tomcat's memory in the "Apache Tomcat Configuration" helped.

  • Overdrive download errors: 2004

    Each time I try to download a EPUB book to my iPhone 4 via the Overdrive app, I get this error message.....
    "ACS4 Authorization Error: 2004
    Adobe Request
    Error: E_ADEPT_UNKNOWN-"
    The only thing that has worked is deauthorizing and then reauthorizing my Adobe account, but each time I do that I get another error message....
    "Fulfill:2004
    Adobe Request
    Error: E_ADEPT_LIC_TOKEN_NULL_DATA-"
    Once I clear this error message, my books just start downloading on their own.
    I have no idea what these mean, but it's getting a bit annoying to do this every time. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Are you downloading directly onto the iPhone Overdrive app, or are you downloading to ADE on a computer then moving the books to Overdrive?
    If the second, try using the Bluefire app on the iPhone instead of Overdrive.
    It seems to be more reliable then Overdrive app; and it can read Overdrive library books (with proper authorization), but can't download them directly.
