E-Recruiting - active on both central ECC + Standalone box and integrated?

Hi,
Can someone tell me if the following landscape is possible with E-rec? (we are installing ehp4)
a) Our central ECC system with the E-Rec component activated. Used for internal recruiting.
  +
b) A standalone E-Rec box , connected and integrated via ALE to the above central ECC system. Used for external recruiting.
So we now have have E-rec activated on both systems with the standalone one integrated into the ECC6 one where E-rec is also active.
Will we have all the functionality of E-Rec/Talent Mangement availalble in this landscape? Will the manager via the Recruiter business packages and MSS be able to use all functionality seemlesly with all data merged between the systems? Do you think all BI reporting on E-rec will work as it suppose to?
We want to be able to integrate and use the data from both systems as a single unit with standard SAP functionality. We only want to physically seperate where the external and where the internal users log on to.
Thanks

Hello,
My suggestion to you would be to have the ECC server upgraded to EHP4, activate E-Recruiting and have it inside the firewall as the back-end server. Recruiters and Managers accessing through portal will access this system. You will have the other server as the front-end server with E-Recruiting. Candidates will update their information in this front-end server, which will in turn update the back-end server through an RFC. This can be achieved through configuration if you check in SPRO.
There is no such thing as external recruiting or internal recruiting to some extend. What you have is external and internal candidates in the same talent pool. It is when you post to candidates where you can select whether you want internal candidates only to apply or external candidates. The external will not see internal postings and vice-versa when they search for jobs. External candidates will login from the internet while internal candidates will login from the portal. Your candidate's information will be residing in both systems but the backend will be updated through an RFC.
In this case the BI will work as normal. I hope this will help you - but this is my opnion.
Best Regards,

  • SAP E Recruiting - Manage future leaving employees in standalone EREC system.

    Program HRALXSYNC
We are using E Recruiting system as a separate server and employee master data comes via ALE IDOCS
Is report HRALXSYNC need to run in case of separate server also?
It is creating user ids which we do want as our system administrator creates user ids and user ids comes from central CUA system with Info Type IT105.
Can we stop this background job as it is creating unwanted user ids in our SAP E- recruiting system, as mentioned in our case both the server are different and ALE being used for master data flow.
Processing of Future leaving / terminating employees
If we stop this Background job then how the suture leaving / terminating employees will be processed in our SAP E-Recruiting system.
In our case both the business function HCM_ERC_CI_3 is active and as per OSS note 1779471 (ERE: Information for processing future) Leavings it is mentioned to run program HRALXSYNC.
    1.      Considering this behavior do we need to start periodic service PROCESS_CAND_STATUS_CHANGE.
    2.      Is there any way program HRALXSYNC do not create user id ?

    Hi Nicole
Thanks a lot for your reply.
As you said job HRALXSYNC is must require also in case if E Recruiting system running on separate instance also along with ALE master data distribution.
    - Every one will not have user id assgned then this job should not create random users. Generation of multiple users may impact licences.
How we can stop randon users creation by this job?
    - Also we have multiple companies rollout implemented in E recruiting system. And one company internal candidate should not apply job to other company.  In this case if this job creates a random internal candidate user then they got assigned RCF_CAND_INT reference user and with this they are able to apply to any company. Whic is a wrong business process for us and a big issue.
    - For future leaving employee - they are not getting convert to external in our system. Meaning this job do not assign RCF_CAND_EXT to future leavinf employees.
Please can you help us, Highly appreciated your inputs in this direction.
    Thanks and regards

  • E-Recruiting : How to setup ALE for standalone setup

    Dear experts,
We are implementing eRecruiting with the following setup:
ECC 603 on a separate server from eRecruiting 603.
I know that in such a scenario we have to transfer the data to & from ECC using ALE and IDOCs.
We have setup RFC connections between both the systems & defined the same in the table T77S0 (both ECC & eRec using HRRCF & DTCBA)
After this can anyone please specify what needs to be done?
I am looking for some kind of detailed information or a reference to any documentation will also do.What are the activities that BASIS needs to take care. Some of the things i am looking for answers are :
What are the BADIs that i need to activate both at ECC & eRec level?
How do i set up or build an ALE model?
How do i decide on the meesage type?
When should i use transactions PFAL & SALE & how do i use it?
How do i check that the data is transferred successfully?
Your inputs on these topics will be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sowmya

actiivate following badis and enhancespot implementations on e rec server
    HRRCF00_SEARCH_RANKING
    HRRCF00_DELETE_SPREL
    HR_INB_PROCESS_IDOC
these are important for ALE point of view.
    Steps for ALE
Go to the Sender HCM system Transaction SALE
Define logical system under basic settings
assign logical system to the client
Create an RFC connection to Erec server with the same name as the logical system name
add the user id and password (use system user with SAP_ALL)
Go to Communication under sale tcode
Determine RFC connection for method calls
Create Standard BAPI and DIALOG destination for the Logical destination
In SALE under modelling and implementing business processes
    Maintain distribution models and views
    Create Model View
Add a message type HRMD_A for the model view and add the sender and receiver system
    Then go back to sale
and in partner profiles generate partner profiles put the model view sender system and user(system user)
    go back to sale
goto Maintain distribution models and views
there select your modelview (just hightlight) go to edit->modelview->distribute
in your sender system in T77s0 table for RECFA DTCBA maintain the RFC name of the E-rec system.
    Now login to Erec system
There maintain the RFC connection to E-rec system with system user
Goto T77s0 for RECFA HRRFC maintain the RFC name to HCM system.
Go to PFAL transaction in HCM sender system and for the model view/message type you have created send the data to e-rec

I cannot see my itunes library on the main menu under computers despite the network being active and the home sharing on on both the devices the mac and apple tv. Any ideas?

    Hi Monty,
Sorry to say it, but this is normal for Apple TVs. I've owned a TV2 and a TV3, and neither lasted for an entire year. They are quite fragile and of low quality, and as you can see here, quite fussy even when they work. The wi-fi receiver on these are cheap and unreliable.
Consider the $99 an annual rental fee. They rarely work for a whole year, so if you are going to use the platform, you will have to replace them constantly.
Also, when one dies under warranty, never, never send it to Apple for repair. Go to the Apple Store for replacement. I sent my ATV3 in for warranty repair using a box sent to me by Apple, and although FedEx tracking showed it was accepted by Apple, it was never seen again. Apple won't replace it or even return my calls.

Why don't some of the photos I took with my iPhone 4S appear on my iPad 3? Both are connected to WiFi and iCloud is activated on both devices.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • ECC 6.0 and Sol Man 7.0 support on Windows Server 32 bit OS

    Dear Experts,
I have read that SAP is moving towards 64 bit implementation.
I have to install ECC 6.0 and Solution Manager 7.0 on a Windows Server. We have yet to purchase the hardware and to decide the hardware config I need answers to the following.
Is ECC 6.0 and Solution Manager 7.0 supported on Windows 2003 server 32 bit OS?
Should I buy 64 bit hardware for both or should I go for 32 bit hardware?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Shailendra

    > No Need to buy 64bit hardware.
You're aware that successor releases are only available on 64bit? And also the fact, that certain functionality may not work in Solution Manager (e. g. activation of BI cubes etc.)? If he wants to go for EHP4 on ERP he needs to install EHP3 first and then EHP4 using SAINT - which needs a lot of downtime.
SAP recommends using only 64bit system and I can just HIGHLY support that:
Note 931024 - FAQ: 64-bit platforms for Windows
    <...>
As of basis release 6.20 productive use of 32-bit platforms is not recommended.
    <...>
    and
Note 1280759 - SAP recommends only 64-Bit Windows for SAP Appl. Servers
    <...>
Therefore, we recommend that you only use 64-bit for your SAP system. Use Windows 64-bit also on small test and demo systems to become familiar with it. Otherwise you will end up wasting a lot of time and money optimizing your ABAP or Java application servers to run on 32-bit.
    <...>
Almost all servers produced in the last two years are 64bit capable - so I'd check if the server really doesn't support a 64bit OS.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on both my Apple Mac Pro and Apple MacBook Pro

I think I found the answer to my question: "May I install my copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on both my Apple Mac Pro and on my recently purchased Apple MacBook Pro?" I think my question was answered in reading the text of the agreement for use of this site in the following:
"You may activate the Software on up to 2 devices (or virtual machines) at a time, if these activations are associated with the same Adobe ID for the same individual, unless stated at http://www.adobe.com/go/activation . However, you may not use the Software on these devices simultaneously."
If this is correct, would you confirm. I know how security conscious Adobe is with their software.
    Thank you! Be Safe!
    Ken

    Hi kennethf71183385,
Thank you so much for asking! Yes, you are entitled to activate your copy of Acrobat on two computers. Please see Activation & Deactivation Help - Adobe Support for more information about activating Adobe software!
Please let us know if you have additional questions.

  • Diff in SAP ECC 6.0 and Netweaver

    Hi Experts,
I am working as SAP ABAP Consultant.
I am new to SAP Netweaver with JAVA. I want to Learn SAP with JAVA also.
Can any one tell me whether the SAP 6.0 is used for SAP NetWeaver developement with java
or it needs some more than SAP ECC 6.0 for ABAP.
Which java is used mostly in SAP?
How to start learn JAVA for SAP?
    Awaiting helpful reply
    Thanks In  advance,
    Dhanu

    Hi Dhananjay,
The SAP NetWeaver Application Server (SAP NetWeaver AS) defines the runtime environment both for Java- and ABAP-based applications in SAP NetWeaver. We refer to the Java-related parts of the server as SAP NetWeaver AS Java. The main part of SAP NetWeaver AS Java is the SAP J2EE Engine, a complete runtime system that can host applications in compliance with the J2EE 1.3 standard.
The SAP J2EE Engine supports all the techniques that became popularized by J2EE - JavaServer Pages, servlets, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs), etc. - so that applications can be ported with minimal effort to SAP NetWeaver AS Java. However, SAP NetWeaver AS Java offers additional functionality on top of what is required in the J2EE 1.3 standard.
Where should I store database tables of my combined ABAP/Java system?
The important information here is: Please keep the database storage of your Java- and ABAP-based components separate:
ABAP components access database tables stored in the “ABAP” database schema.
Java components access database data stored in the “Java” database schema.
Best, there is one database instance keeping both ABAP and Java schemas, namely the database instance that is already pre-configured during the SAP Web AS installation.
Can my Java program modify data in the ABAP database schema?
The important constraint is: In general, Java components do not access tables stored in the ABAP schema directly, via persistence APIs (for example, JDBC). Analogously, ABAP components cannot manipulate data in the Java schema.
Don’t worry: Of course, Java components can read or modify data in the ABAP schema. But rather than accessing table data directly, they are intended to go around: In the Java code, you apply the application-level APIs (like SAP Java Resource Adapter API, web services, Adaptive RFC for Web Dynpro UIs) and ask the ABAP component to do the work on the database.
Can I integrate Java and ABAP components in the scope of an application?
Of course, you can combine Java and ABAP components in your systems. There are several technologies enabling reliable data exchange between them, like SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo), SAP Java Resource Adapter (SAP JRA), web services, and SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) to name some.
The below link helps u in understanding the connectors of java and sap.
    Using the SAP Java Connector
SAP’s new Java middleware, the SAP Java Connector (JCO) allows customers and partners to easily build SAP-enabled components in Java. JCO supports both inbound (Java calls ABAP) and outbound (ABAP calls Java) calls in desktop and server applications.
In this Sample Program we connect to SAP and call two BAPIs.
Import statements: Any program using JCO should contain the following import statement:
    import com.sap.mw.jco.*;
Otherwise, you have to fully qualify each class and interface which is very inconvenient.
    Connecting to SAP
    JCO.Client mConnection;
A connection (or session) with SAP is handled by class JCO.Client
    try {
    mConnection =
    JCO.createClient("400", // SAP client
    "c3026902", // userid
    "********", // password
    "EN", // language
    "iwdf5020", // host name
    "00"); // system number
    mConnection.connect();
    catch (Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    System.exit(1);
"A Client object is created via a call to createClient(). You can use a specific application server (as in the above code) or a server group (load balancing)." REFER the JCO Javadoc for the overloaded createClient() method for the latter possibility.
"The Client class's connect () method tries to log on to SAP. If that fails for any reason, an exception is thrown. If the call succeeds, we can now stay connected for as long as we like. When we are done, we can call disconnect () to explicitly log off."
    Thankyou
    Regards.

  • Central Contract, MDM Catalog, and classic scenario

    Dear SAP experts,
We are in SRM 7.01 with backend ECC 6.05 deploying classic scenario. We are using Central Contract Management in which we negotiate contract in SRM and later distribute it to ECC. We also plan to use SRM-MDM Catalog.
We notice that if we are using classic scenaro, the contract that is used as reference is the contract number in ECC (the one distributed from SRM). So at first we assume that if we want to push the contract data to MDM, we should have pushed the ECC Contract number. However we find out that actually SAP block the ECC Contract coming as distribution from SRM to go to MDM.
Our second option is to use distribution of contract from SRM to catalog. It does using SRM contract number. We create SC and then we pull the catalog item from the catalog (which contain SRM contract number) and then we order. However we end up with 'error in process' in which the system try to create a PR instead in the ECC (meaning that the contract number cannot be read).
We're puzzled with this. How can we use the combination of central contract, MDM catalog and classic scenario? Can we use the combination?
    Best regards,
    John

    Maria
If you want the contracts to be in SRM and do not want them to send to Backend, then check this out.
Create a Vendor list for those items in SRM by assigning the local contracts to the vendors.Activate Vendor list for sourcing.
Then local contract data should pick as SOS from the vendor list.
If you can create contracts in Backend for stock material then SC would pick the backend contract as SOS in classic scenario.
Let me know if the above works or not.
PS : Reward points if helpful.

  • Installing XSS (ESS and MSS) on EP 7 and ECC 5.0 (and ECC 6.0)

    Hello,
I need to install XSS (ESS and MSS) on EP 7.0 SP9 and ECC 5.0 and also on ECC 6.0.
I do NOT know what steps I need to perform (installations & configurations).
Could anyone please help me ?
Is the procedure different between ECC 5.0 and ECC 6.0 ?
    Please, help.
    Kind regards,
    Gil

    Hello Gil,
    1) As I wrote in my second posting, I think I installed the EP 7.0 correctly for XSS and the BP ERP for ERP2005.
Where can I find what configurations I need to undertake and what patches I should install so the XSS and the BP will work correctly ? (that is besides getting error messages when using an XSS iView)
<b>You need to install the foloowing Web Dynpro Components in ur J2EE server.
    PCI_GP
    MSS</b>
    2) If the projects decides NOT to upgrade to ERP 2005 BUT to stay with ERP 2004, do I need to install the EP 7.0 ALL over AGAIN ?
If so, how do I install both the BP ERP 2004 and XSS on it in ONE installation (as I performed in for the BP ERP 2005) ?
If NOT, how do I uninstall the BP ERP and XSS of the ERP 2005 and install those for ERP 2004 ? OR does the BP ERP 2005 support ERP 2004 as well ?
<b>The pre-requiste for BP ERP2005 is a backend ERP2005. So it will not function with backend ERP 2004.
You don't need to uninstall anything. Just download the Mysap ERP 2004 BP and do the necessary configuration to connect it to the BACKEND ERP 2004.This will solve the problem.
You can find the configuration guides and other information abt the BP here.
