Easier option for invoking external webservice

Hi,
what is the easy way to test invoking a nonSAP webservice (to which we give request and expect response).
i did file to soap scenario using bpm,
and i used file to soap using adapter module.
but both are bit lengthy procedure to check if we can invoke the webservice thru PI.
is there any other mechanism, or any other adapters that we can use to send the request and get the response from nonSAP webservice provider.

hi,
>>>is there any other mechanism, or any other adapters that we can use to send the request and get the response from nonSAP webservice provider.
not anything that would not involve using adapters...
>>>but both are bit lengthy procedure to check if we can invoke the webservice thru PI.
but they both take less then 30 mins to develop & check (without a BPM even less)...

  • Best practices: Invoking external webservices with user credentials

    Hello Experts,
I just need to store and maintain a couple of user credentials when invoking external web servcies. I was thinking of storing them in system-jazn-data.xml as I thought it was easier to change the password due to policy requirements through the AS control.
But how do I read the encrypted password and pass it to the invoked partner link in BPEL ?
    Any other suggestions ?
    Thanks
    Ravi
P.S; I was thinnking a DB table would be too much just for a couple of users.

you can use deployment descriptors in BPEL process to store these variables and pass them

    Hi gurus,
i need to invoke a webservice(WS), deployated on j2ee, generating a consumer proxy on se80 transaction.

  • Namespace for accessing external Webservices

    Hi,
I have an external service and my Livecycle application is trying to invoke that service and get some response by using the webservice component in ADOBE Livecycle ES Workbench. However, after getting repeated error with this an analysis was done and found that the external service expects "q0" namespace alias, whereas ADOBE sends "get" namespace alias. Is there a way to configure livecycle to send the namespace alias as "q0".
    Thanks,
    Nakul

    Hi Kiran,
You can set your proxy authentication in your code itself.
Write following code before calling Webservice.
    wdcontext.current<node>element().modelobject()._setUsername("<user>");
    wdcontext.current<node>element().modelobject()._setpassword("<password>");
Also, specify proxy hostname and port in logical ports file under your model.

  • Wrapper for invoking external DLL-function

    I want to run a Host-Command (e.g. rwrun60 report=xyz.rdf batch=yes) invoked by a trigger that fires when a new record is inserted.
I wrote a DLL which has an exported function that accepts a commandline (with parameters) and invokes the command via ShellExecute.
The problem is, that when i invoke the PL/SQL-wrapper, the DLL-function is properly run, but the program i want to run is only visible in the taskmanager(NT) and does nothing.
So what i need is a correct wrapper for the function:
    DLL-function: OExecSysCmd(cmdLine *char)
    Wrapper:
    PROCEDURE OExecSysCmd(p_SysCmd in char)
    IS EXTERNAL
    NAME "OExecSysCmd"
    LIBRARY demolib;
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Russ,
with "invoke an external dll" I mean that I have to wite a log file to register my fdk client events and to do this I have to use an external dll wich exposes some functions to write to a common log file. I have imported the external dll in my client project and at the beginning of client code I have included the dll header file:
    #include "LogDll.h"
Then I've tried to invoke a LogDll function (not within F_ApiInitialize (), but in a custom dialog box event):
    int retval=LogDllFunction();
The code compiles, but if I start FM, I receive the message error. If I comment the line above, FM and my client start normally.

  • Error "Problem building schema" while invoking external webservice

    Hi,
    I have following problem:
    I created 2 BPEL processes.
One of these processes should be called from the other as a partnerlink.
When I create the partnerlink, pointing to the deployed wsdl, I get following error "Problem building schema" when I try to access the input variable that was created by the invoke activity.
I have tried a lot of things but keep on getting this error.
When I create a new, empty BPEL process, and do exactly the same it does work!
any help would be greatly appreciated.....

  • External Fiber Channel Raid options for New Xserve besides Promise V-Trak

I was wondering if anyone out there knows if there is an alternate option for a External Raid that can be hooked up via 4gb Fiber Channel to my new Xserve. I am really looking for a more cost efficient one than the 12K Promise set up from Apple. My Technology vendor was telling me that you have to use the Promise Raid as it is the only one that a Xserve will control due to Apple's licensing of its drivers etc. for its Fiber channel. Something tells me that this is not true.
Anyone have any recomendations for a Fiber channel Raid solution in the 6K dollar range?
    thanks,
    Dan

Find another vendor. Anyone that tells you the Promise is the only RAID that will work clearly doesn't understand the market.
As for recommendations, you need to include some idea of capacity, either usable or raw. I can find you a lot of options for $6K if you want a 100GB of data. Not so many if you want 100TB.

  • Invoking a webservice using WSIF Binding

    Hi All,
I have few queries regarding usage of WSIF Binding in BPEL
My understanding was it is useful for calling Java Classes from BPEL Process.
Can I use WSIF Binding for invoking the webservice ?
Or the use of WSIF Binding is limited to invoking Java classes.
If we can invoke web service , Can you please let me know how to do it?
you can mail your replies to [email protected]
Any help will be immensely appreciated..
    Regards,
    Bhanu

First of all thanks to Jens and clemens.
From both of your replies, i learnt that we can call webservice from BPEL process using WSIF binding .
Can you provide me a bpel sample where we're using wsif binding for invoking web service?
    I have one more doubt:
"WSIF java binding means, which was used to call java classes. WSIF soap binding used to call web services"
    Is my understanding correct?
Can you explain a bit on WSIF Java binding?

  • Best option for RAID 5 with 4 drives?

I have been thinking about doing a RAID 5 setup with 4 1TB drives.
My motherboard has enough intel SATA ports to run one through its chipset, but I've heard that can be problematic and wont perform as well.
What would be the best budget option for a small RAID? Are there any affordable RAID cards out there that would fit my needs? I could probably part with $300 for a card. I'll get 4 WD RE4 drives for the raid.
I will have a backup of this data so that's not a problem.

    Hi Paul,
Areca ARC-1320-8i seems like the best option - or a variation of it (like ARC-1320-4i4x) - as long as you get four internal ports.  It's right around $300.
That said, some of my clients run Intel RST RAID5 on four drives for some time, and it actually performs well:
(Personally I think software and hybrid RAIDs are the future of RAID technology: much more flexible than hardware RAID; potentially faster as well given that they have access to all of computer resources rather than just a dedicated processor.  The latest iteration of RST, for example, allow SSDs for caching of RAID volumes.)
For my personal system, I use a $200 CineRAID H458 box with four Hitachi Deskstars in RAID5, which is a very inexpensive option for an external RAID:
Sure, it's rather slow; fast enough for my purposes though, and is highly portable, unlike any config with an internal RAID controller.
If I need something seriously faster (yet on a budget), I'd use something like this:

  • Help: problems in generating a menu for invoking a report

I have trouble generating menus that invoke reports. This is what happens and how I do it:
I'm using Designer 9i (DevSuite 9.0.2.0.1) and trying to build a 100% generated Forms and Reports application. So far everything was working fine with using Function Attribute usage and Application Design transformer for rough modules. Then with Design editor I connected components, did a lot of modifications and all my forms and reports are working fine.
Everything in forms and reports servlets is set-up well and I am able to invoke the forms via
    http://localhost:8888/forms90/f90servlet?form=....&..&..
    and the reports via
    http://localhost:8888/reports/rwservlet?report=...&...&..
and they look almost fine (except character set is wrong ISO-8859-5 instead of WIN-1251, but that is manageable).
Later, when I use Application Design Transformer to create menus, problems occur. All the forms and reports modules are linked within the menus in a network that looks just fine but the menus do not generate! There is no error written, only that generation was unsuccessful.
There is .mmb created, but no .mmx. If I open the created .mmb file in Form Builder and try to compile it there, the pl/sql for the menu option for invoking the report contain[i]Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

There is .mmb created, but no .mmx. If I open the created .mmb file in Form Builder and try to compile it there, the pl/sql for the menu option for invoking the report contains something like this:
    cg$nv_invoke_report('','reportname.rdf','','','')
and the error is that the number of parameters is not correct. I looked inside the included library and this command want 6, instead of 5 parameter - the last one a parameter list for the report. This report has no arguments, hence no parameters should be passed - at least I think so.
Is this some kind of bug of designer fixed in later version, or I am doing things the wrong way?
Finaly, I learned how to invoke the report with a custom built pl/sql code (with run_report_product and web.show_document) described in some of the Forms 9i documents on OTN, but this is not the way I would like to do this because I will have to put such kind of code inside templates or libraries, and link with all of the created reports (and there are tons of them). I MEAN -- if Oracle knew how to do it, why didn't they made this cg$nv_invoke_report work as it was supposed to work!
    Please help

  • Best Firewire 800 HDD Options for mid-2010 iMac?

    Hi all,
I've run out of space on my internal HDD and I understand that upgrading the internal HDD is rather difficult.  I started looking around at external HDD's and it appears that both WD and Seagate have rolled off support in their mainline products for Firewire 800.  You can still get a previous model WD Studio that has Firewire 800, but it is almost twice the price of the latest model.  What are my best options for an external hard drive?  Any recommendations?

Here are some general tips to keep your Mac's hard drive trim and slim as possible
You should never, EVER let a conputer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your Mac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto or Aperture, both have its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you are an iMovie/Final Cut user, both have their own  individual Trash location that needs to be emptied, too!
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your other Mailboxes and other Mail categories to see If there is other mail you can archive and/or delete.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
To find other large files, download an app called Omni Disk Sweeper.
    http://www.omnigroup.com/more
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/downloadonyx.php
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.

i am not able to invoke external sales force webservice for my bpel

    Hi,
I'm working on a POC for integrating Sales Force with OFMW. I've downloaded partner.wsdl/enterprise.wsdl from Sales Force, imported it in Fusion & now when I'm trying to invoke SF login() action from Oracle Fusion with valid user name & password along with security token, I'm getting below error. Can anyone help me to crack this??? I tried importing the same wsdl in Soap UI & there it's working fine.
    Getting below error:

  • Best external RAID option for MacBook Pro

I have been searching for an external RAID enclosure/solution to use with my MacBook Pro (with Thunderbolt). I would like to use Thunderbolt, but if Firewire 800 provides a more reliable solution than any of the Thunderbolt solutions I will go with the more stable options.
I have looked at a variety of options, and it appears the following are the top runners for a solution, any thoughts on any of these options:
Get a Promise Pegasus Thunderbolt array
The reliability of this unit really worries me, and if it failed as frequently as some are indicating, it could be busy nearly all the time recovering if I had 6+GB of content on the thing when it failed
Advantage of this unit is I could get enough capacity in one chassis to hold me for a fair length of time
The big disadvantage, if this thing fails as frequently as some indicate, restoring 6+GB of content to the thing does not sound fun
Get one of the Thunderbolt, OS X Software RAID boxes, (the likes of G-Tech, and Western Digital)
The use of the OS to manage the RAID array worries me, how is performance, how easy is it to replace a faulty drive and have the OS detect the new drive and start the rebuild process?
How long will it take to rebuilt a failed disc in the 2 to 3TB range?
Use the Firewire 800 port on a CalDigit VR 2 two drive RAID 1 mirror set
This seems to have fairly decent reviews, although there is not a lot of end user reviews that I have found
It will take at least three of the largest unit CalDigit makes to handle my images and have room for new images
Clearly Firewise will not be as fast as the Thunderbird devices
Get the CalDigit VR 2 but try to use the USB3 connection
CalDigit has a USB 3 card that can fit in the 17" MacBook Pro, but I have no idea how well the USB 3 card works with the MacBook Pro?
USB 3 does not daisy chain, the CalDigit card has two ports, however, if you have more than two external arrays you are still in a mood of swapping external drives
Drobo is coming out with Thunderbolt solutions
The bare box is pricey, add four or five large drives and there is some serious money in the thing
There are lot's of reports of failures and inability to rebuild, etc., on the Drobo
    The OWC Quad interface QX2
A fair number of reports of failures on this device
Little information on rebuild speed in event a drive needs to be replaced
I am not very interested in a NAS, even with GigaBit Ethernet the performance will not be as good as direct attached
I do have a 3 year old Mac Pro that is under utilized, I could add more storage and even a RAID controller card for an external enclosures, but again, trying to edit images and/or videos across the network may not be a viable option
Any other ideas, something KNOWN to be good, with minimal failures, and when it does fail it rebuilds quickly and safely
The last piece of the solution is ideally a solution that is fairly low noise.
Any suggestions, direct end user experience, etc., would be greatly appreciated

    What a list
    Well, take a look at CalDigit's HDPro2 8TB (supporting RAID 5 and 6)
    http://www.CalDigit.com/store.asp#HDPro2
It's more expensive than others but works with your MacPro thorugh PCIe connection and very reliable comparing to others.
or a cheaper HDOne 8TB in RAID 5/6

Yeah, I'm having the same exact problem - It seems that the thunderbolt minidisplay port is only able to output the analog VGA signal, not the digital signal to support DVI and HDMI. This is a bug that came up after installing 10.7.1. I bought my macbook air with 10.7 on it, upgraded it to 10.7.1 as soon as I got it, so I have never been able to use hdmi or dvi with my macbook air. This is an extremely frustrating problem for me, I used HDMI on a daily basis with my PC. I have spent many hours at the genius bar running diagnostic tests so Apple can get as much information as possible to create a fix for this problem. I have been emailing tech support for 3 or so weeks now, they keep saying that they are working on a fix and it should be out soon, but 10.7.2 has come and gone and I still have no HDMI functionality with my MacBook Air!
