Eclipse debug : watch values of static applet fields

hi,
I can't see values of my applet static fields while debuging...
I wonder : is this normal? Why?
If not, how can I fix that (except by de-staticify my fields :P he he)
thanks

To see local variables you need to compile with -g option. (javac -g).

  • Modify default value for static parameter field programmatically

    Hi,
    I have my Crystal Reports stored in a BO Enterprise system. I have written a java programm that scans the repository, loads the CR reports one by one into a ReportClientDocument, modifies the data source and then stores the updated report back to repository (it overwrites the existing objects).
    I was even able to modify the default values for the parameters, which are used for scheduling of each report.
    But what I am trying to do know is to overwrite the default value used when invoking the report interactively. This should be the value found under the Default Value field, when the Properties window of the parameter is opened in the CR designer.
    This is what I have tried so far:
    Option 1: First I tried to set the default values using com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportClientDocument.getDataDefinition().getParameterFieldController().getField(...).getDefaultValues() . The only thing I have managed to do using this approach is to modify the static LOVs that are associated to static parameters. The actual selected value (shown under Default Value in the Properties window for the given parameter field) remained unchanged, when invoking the report in the InfoView or opening it in the CR designer.
    Option 2: I have used com.crystaldecisions.sdk.plugin.desktop.report.IReport.getReportParameters().get(ik).getDefaultValues() to change the default values. I was able to see my changes in the BO repository (using a query on CI_INFOOBJECTS), still the changes did not really have an impact to what is displayed as default value when invoking the report in the InfoView.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    It would be great to know if someone of you has already implemented successfully such a use-case.

  • Java - Eclipse debug applet with System.out.print in jboss console

    I use System.out.print to debug my java programs using Eclipse. I'm new
    with applets, and when nothing showed up in the applet window, I tried
    using print statements. I was expecting to see them in the jboss console like
    always, but there was nothing there. I tried looking this problem up
    online and found nothing. Does anyone know how I can use print
    statements to debug my applet? (Japplet to be specific).

    System.out.println works for me. The output statment are visible in the Console Window within Eclipse.

  • Assigning a value to a number field through a button

    11gxe , apex 4.x ,
    hi all ,
    i am trying to assign value to a number field through a button ,
    i created a button , then a dynamic action for this button , when it is clicked ,
    the dynamic action is based on Pl\Sql code , and the code is
    begin
    :p2_assign := 455 ; -- where the page is "p2" and the number field is "assign"
    end ;
    but it does not work , why ?

    I can see the toolbar now from the last link you provided me with ,
    but you showed me the way to use the static assigning , and assigning with sql , and i want to do it with "Pl\Sql"
    in order to know why my way of writing the code does not work , although it is written properly , and should work .
    every input item is a variable , and i am doing so
    begin
    :p2_assign := 455 ; -- where the page is "p2" and the number field is "assign"
    end ;
    to assign a value to a variable ,
    and

    why does not it work ??
    and how to do it with pl\sql ?

  • Display text w/i Static Text Field

    Running SJSC2.1 on XP
    How can I get the text within a static text field to display on multiple lines.
    It works within a text area field - using "\n" but not a static text field. The text is fed from a database (Derby/Oracle)??
    Thanks...

    I have inserted: escape="false" as here:
    <ui:tableColumn binding="#{Page1.tableColumn3}" headerText="Info" id="tableColumn3">
    <ui:staticText binding="#{Page1.staticText5}" escape="false" id="staticText5" text="#{currentRow.value['CONTACT.CINFO']}"/>
    There is no option in properties for table cells (static text)
    Still the text is one long string..
    However, looking at the source code after deployment shows newlines where they should be. Go Figure!
    Could certainly use some help here..
    Thanks

  • Applet Field Read Only

    I've to create several fields on a custom form applet and these fields should be read only in certain conditions based on a value in an other field on the same applet. how can i do it in a simple way?
    Thank you very much

    Hi,
    I would suggest an other solution. You can create a new Field with a calculated Expression. You have to add a BC user property to every field you want to make readonly. The expression of your calculated field should meet your criteria to make the other fields read-only. If your other fields should be read-only, your expression should be true (Y). If your other fields should not be read only, your expression shuld be false (N)
    BC User Property Name: Field Read Only Field: [Field Name]
    BC User Property Value: YourCalculatedField
    I think this solution is better than using toogle Applets. If you have multiple copies of your Applet you have to change every applet if you need to add a new Field.
    Cheers Andreas

  • Unable to evaluate workflow rule - Value too long for field

    Need help with a workflow error for a record update before the record is saved. There are 3 calculations that would be done in a particular order - all on number fields. Each time, I am overwriting existing values. The individual numbers could have up to 6 decimal spaces. When I try to update one or more fields that contain the calculation, I get an error message saying that the system is unable to evaluate the workflow rule - value too long for field (zNum6).
    This same calculation is fine when a new record is entered and the calculation is done as a default field value.
    Any ideas?

    I actually had to use a ToChar function at the beginning of the calculation and #### to indicate the number of digits to make this work. Oracle Help Desk provided the answer - quickly.

  • What is the initial value for a numeric field ??

    Can someone tell me what the INITIAL VALUE FOR A NUMERIC FIELD is ?? Thank you
    Rod.

    Using the following...
       class MyClass
         int myvar1;  // Default initial value
         int myvar2 = 3;  // Default initial value and default value
         MyOtherClass myclass1; // Default initial value
         void doit()
           int mylocal1;  // No value
           MyOtherClass myclass2; // No value
    All number member variables, like myvar1 start off with andefault initial value which is zero. For booleans this is false. Object reference variables, like myclass1, have a null value.
    All local numeric variables are considered undefined. So mylocal1 and myclass2 are undefined. Before you can use them you must explicitly provide a value.
    Finally note that myvar2 will have two values during class instantiation. Initially it will have a value of zero. Sometime later it will have the value of 3. (When that happens is very definitely outside the scope of what this forum covers. If you want to know then ask in the advanced forum.)

  • Preserving a field's value on changing the field access parameter?

    I have a form that has a number of fields that are set to "protected" and have calculation scripts on them. If the user selects a specific radio button option elsewhere, the form sets the .access parameter to "open" and disables the calculation so that the user can enter whatever they want into those fields. The problem arises when the user imports XML data via Acrobat. The radio button choice is made (since it is bound to an element in the schema), but when the form changes the access parameter of the fields to "open", it fires the calculate event on the fields and we lose the value assigned to those fields from the imported XML.
    Is there any way to preserve the fields value when it changes from "protected" to "open"? Here is an example PDF w/ XSD.
    The more I dig into this the more I think this might be an issue with calculate.override not disabling the calculations on a field, even when it is set to "open" - at least until the user manually edits that field.

    Ok, worked out a solution. It's specific to my application, but maybe someone else will get something out of it. What I did is moved the calculation script from the field I am changing the access parameter of (call it "Field A") to the fields that feed into that field (call them "Field B" and "Field C"). Now, when the user triggers the exit events on B and C, each one fires a script that updates the value of A. For my application, this works only because B and C are hidden from the use if they toggle the radio button allowing them to manually enter A.
    Basically, instead of A pulling values from B and C to calculate it's value, B and C check each other and push values to A.

  • Uploading values for an image field in a web app. Nothing displays in layout.

    I've uploaded the values (using the import) for a field defined as an image in a web app. When I try to display the field, nothing shows up. The value correctly shows up when I look at Web App items after the upload / import. I've uploaded the same value in a text field, just to learn what was happening, and the text field displays the image just fine when added to the layout.
    I would like to use the image field type, as it's easier to correctly create the link when the web app is updated in the future.
    Here is what works in the layout: <a href="{tag_link to page}"> <img alt="" class="column66_award_thumb" id="thx" src="{tag_image thumb}" /></a>
    Note that {tag_image thumb} is a text field with the link stored in it. The value for each Web App Item which populates this field is a link to the image. (i.e. /Awards/139.jpg)
    Here is what I want to work: <a href="{tag_link to page}"> <img alt="" class="column66_award_thumb" id="thx" src="{tag_thumbnail image_value}" /></a>  , where {tag_thumbnail image_value} refers to a field defined as an image in the web app. It has the exact same value as {tag_image thumb}. I just copied the field values in the Excel spreadsheet (saved as .csv) when I uploaded it.
    It looks like the image field works fine only when I manually create it in the web app. If this is the case, using the upload capability disables any ability to use the image field type.
    Is there a workaround for this? Am I missing something?
    The page I'm working on is http://www.e-a-a.com/awards  When you view the source, you can see that the small thumbnail images are displaying just fine. (I'm using the text field). Whenever I substitute the image field name {tag_thumbnail image}, {tag_thumbnail image_nolink}, or {tag_thumbnail image_value}, the src value is always null.
    How do I fix?

    Hi there,
    To do it properly you need to resize the image. Prefably before you put it into BC. While you can for scale the image in CSS you do not want to do this. Why? Because the images are still very big and likely not optimised as they should be for the web.
    This means the page with these images will take a very long time to load for people, and people wont be to happy about that viewing your site.
    You need to use software such as photoshop if you have it or iphoto on a mac for example to edit, crop and size images before you upload them. If you do not have anything you can use free web based tools such as this one:
    http://pixlr.com/editor/
    You can also do this within BC itself in the file manager. If you click the image you can see options to resize it. The downside of that is that is done by pure math. It does not know what is in the photo and the results can make the image look squished etc.

  • How to get the values from the input field of a table

    Hello Friends
    I am having table having one column as InputField and rest are the textview fields
    I input the data and click the button that will add them to a node.
    But what is happening is it is adding the current value to all the fields replacing other filelds.
    Like suppose I am having 3 rows
    In column I input 10
    In column 2 input 20
    In column 3 input 30
    Now it is setting the value 30 to all the 3 fields.
    Can any one tell me the code to set 10, 20 and 30 as different value in a node as entered by me.
