Eclipse IDE not Working

am having difficulty getting my Eclipse IDE to work after updating to Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8.2) yesterday. For whatever reason, my errors and line numbers are not updating properly. The line numbers don't pose much of an issue, but coding without errors is immensely irritating. Restarting my computer didn't yield any results. I've searched around the world wide web, and I've found a few articles with potential solutions (mostly from this site). Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get any of these solutions to work.
When I check for new updates in eclipse, no updates are found. Restarting my computer has no effect.
Also, I am not running a second monitor; just my standard Mac Book Pro 13' running Eclipse Version: 3.7.2

Eclipse is now at version 4.2.  You probably should get the latest version (Juno)

    Hi ,

tried flashing to older version 2.4 that didnt work ...flashed back to version 2.5 ...still wont work ....boot sequence freezes at the same point..wont go beyong detecting one drive on primary ,no problems on secondary.....also the strange thing is that live monitor cannot detect and stops at   "search mainboard bios version " and wont go beyond that ,but working through live update 3 (newest) the bios version is shown...i have been flashing through windows  should i try through DOS/Floppy ?

    Hi,
there is a typo in the plugin.xml file for the Kodo plugin.
    change the following line -
    <library name="jakarta-commons-logging-1.0.2.jar"/>
    to -
    <library name="jakarta-commons-logging-1.0.3.jar"/>
    and restart Eclipse.
    Should do the trick.

  • Debugging in Eclipse does not work (no variables, "No source availab")

    Hello!
I have setup Eclipse for doing some very easy C projects.
The code runs fine if I click the "Run" button, but I can't get the debugger working.
First of all I can't see the values of the variables. And after passing the first breakpoint I get this message:
    Any ideas?

Well, the code itself is homework, yes. But since our school is pro-microsoft we are "recommended" to use Visual Studio (Which is working great).
But since I'm here, I don't think I need to say that I'm not a huge fan of windows.
I haven't changed any settings in Eclipse, so its all at default settings. I have followed several tutorials, and non of them has said anything about changing any settings for getting debugging to work.
I'm using "scanf" to read the value, so I guess that I have to enable debugging in stdio.h in some way then?
I spoke to my teacher today however, and he suggested that I tried codeblocks.
And In codeblocks everything works as expected (Actually easier than MS VS i think). And since we are only doing some basic labs in a few weeks, I'll be fine with it.
But thanks for the answer anyway!

  • User input in JDeveloper IDE not working?

We just started to use JDeveloper. so the problem may be very basic, I could not figure it out what is wrong:
I have a java class which is calling a third part application (Lotus Notes, domino server). The task of the class is to open a database on domino server(or local machine). When calling domino, there is a user(calling) authorization. So I must input the password for the domino server for authorization. When I input the password in input panel and hit return, nothing happened. It looks the Domino still wait for the password. It waited and waited and the process can not be stopped itself.
when I copied the same code and ran in other IDE or Sun's JDK. It worked fine.
So it looks that my JDeveloper could not pass user' input to the process?
    Any helps are highly appreciated.
    George

    Hi George,
Let me make sure I understand what you are saying.
You want to run (or debug) your program which reads input from System.in?
    If so...
Have you checked the checkbox in the Project Settings Dialog - Runner - Options panel "Allow Program Input"? Then when you ran (or debugged) your program, did you see a text field labeled "Input:" in the Log window for your running process?
Did you enter the password in that text field and press Enter on your keyboard?
If that wasn't the problem, can you give us step by step what you are doing?
    Thanks,
    Liz

  • Eclipse plugin not working with Eclipse 2.1

I'm trying to use the Eclipse plugin with Eclipse version 2.1 (recently

Eclipse 2.0. The "Kodo" menu appears in the wrong perspective (the CVS

Anyone else tried this with better success?

Problem solved. After closing the perspectives I had open and reopening
them, the menu showed up in the correct perspectives.

  • Eclipse build not working

    Hello,
I am using Eclipse and everytime I try to do a Project -> Clean -> OK (with start build automatically checked), eclipse shows the build status dialogue box, and says it completes the build, but during the build it does not say "compiling" which it use to do a few weeks ago.
In addition, when I check my usual compile destination folder, it no longer outputs the class files there.
The only way I can get it to compile is if I use ANT.
Does anybody know what could be wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

    Typically one of two areas are messed up;
    the eclipse config
delete everything under eclipse/configuration/ except the config.ini file
    the workspace
delete everything under workspace/.metadata/ (or create a new workspace)
      and re-import your projects.

  • 32-bit JDK 7 System.out.println not working in IDE

    Hi folks,
    I have a 64-bit Windows 7 OS.
Due to 3rd party library/jar dependencies, i had to install the 32-bit Java JDK 1.7 and Eclipse IDE.
    I also installed NetBeans.
    So i have a 64-bit OS and am running 32-bit Java JDK/JRE & IDEs.
The problem I am having is that my program's System.out.println("...") statements are not outputting strings to either IDE debug console.
Executing the compiled program from a command line/prompt produces the expected string output.
The basic "Hello, World" program is enough to cause this behaviour to start occurring.
I have not manually / intentionally changed any IDE-specific Debug Console or Windows environment settings.
One caveat: This same environment has worked successfully in the past ?! Yes, this is one of those "..it worked last week & yesterday and today it isn't and i swear i didn't do anything..." issue.
    Thoughts ?

    Thanks for the reply.
The 64-bit versions of Java & Eclipse were installed first.
    When i discovered I had to use the 32-bit versions, i un-installed the 64-bit ones & installed the 32-bits.
Even after that initial un-install 64-bit/install 32-bit process, it was working.
I have also been installing the Windows 7 64-bit OS updates when i am informed of them.
I'm not sure if any of these would affect how the Eclipse / NetBeans IDEs behave.
    Behaviour has been inconsistent.
    Initially it was always working.
But over the past several days, it has been working less and less.
I don't have any large data structures.
This isn't a large complicated program, couple hundred lines, so i highly doubt that i'm doing anything to the resources, but something has changed.
The main project I am working on takes command line parameters, does some initial processing, produces output using System.out.printlns [SOP] then depending on the parameters, branches into 2 different processing paths, let's call them A & B. Each of these processing paths also use SOPs. When i run the program in the IDE going thru path A, sometimes the initial SOP statements will work and the SOP statements specific to path A will also work. If i immediately change the parameters to go thru path B & re-run it, not even the initial SOP statements before the branching decision work.
I've tried doing System.flush()s too - no affect.
I haven't tried the re-direction option to a file option you mentioned yet.
It always works from a command prompt - that is telling me that the Java SOPs are working properly, correct ?
Inside an Eclipse or NetBeans IDE, SOP output to the debug console is inconsistent.
Running from a command prompt, the SOPs always work.
It'd help to know if this an IDE issue, a Java issue, a Windows 7 issue so i can narrow down where to try and correct the situation.
I have a Windows XP VM set up, i'll try running the program there and see if there's a difference.
    Thanks for your reply.

  • Auto-Deployment is not working in Eclipse - Weblogic

I have created weblogic server instance in Eclipse. Then, I have added one project into weblogic server by using "Add/Remove Projects" menu. After I start the server , I logged into admin console and checked the deployments link. I am not finding the project listed in the list.I have selected option "Run stand alone web module directly from work space" in web logic server configuration window in eclipse.
I am using Eclipse 3.3 and weblogic 10.0.
I have no idea, why auto-deployment is not working.
I would appreciate your help on this regard.I have contacted Eclipse Support, they have asked me to contact BEA team.
    Thanks,
    Prakash.A

    Hi Prakash,
The "Run standalone web module from workspace" doesn't publish the application to the server (instead the app is deployed to a temp location).
This is mainly to help test the app during the development stages. If your app is complete and would like to publish to the server then you might want to try the following option
    - In Server View, double click on the configuration to launch Overview
    - Select "Copy stand-alone web module into separate deployment folder"
    - Save the configuration
    - Start the server
The application would be deployed to the server as a WAR file.

  • CS4 XMP SDK - Can't get it to work with Eclipse IDE

I've been trying to use the CS4 XMP (FileInfo) SDK with the Eclipse IDE, as described in the docs, but there must be a missing step in the documentation because I have added the Ant Plugin and the XMP plugin (jar) but there is no "XMP / Custom Panel" project option showing in Eclipse.
Has anyone got this to work? Does it require a specific (i.e. not the latest Ganymede) version of Eclipse?

    Hi Fred,
Unfortunately I do not have Flex Builder (it is pay-for software). The XMP FileInfo SDK Programmer's Guide says there are three options:
    1. Adobe Flex Builder
    2. Eclipse IDE with Flex-Builder plug-in
    3. Flex SDK
I've been trying number 2 (Eclipse IDE) as I am familiar with Eclipse and the plugin is included with the SDK, but it doesn't work so I guess the documentation is missing a few steps.
    Thanks
    James.

  • Applet Works in Eclipse but not Online?

I've got everything working in eclipse but now when I uploaded it to unix it wouldn't run. Any ideas? I chmod 664 all the java and class files. It won't print to the TextArea for some reason when I uploaded it.
    Here is my source
    http://www2.hawaii.edu/~akinsey/CD.java
    http://www2.hawaii.edu/~akinsey/CDStorage.java
    http://www2.hawaii.edu/~akinsey/CDStorage.html
That will all compile and run in eclipse but doesn't work online :(

If it runs in Eclipse, but not when deployed, the problem is probably classpath or security related. This is why those of us who use Eclipse in real production work, rarely use its builds. I always build with ANT and never run from within Eclipse. I alway use what Eclipse calls an "Externally Launched Server".
