Eclipse Mars update site unavailable

Hi,
I just installed the Mars release and I'm getting this when trying to add Mars components [screenshot].
And I'm getting this as stack trace

  • Added Mars update site but 'No updates were found'

I'm currently using Eclipse Luna Service Release 2 (4.4.2) on Win 7 Professional (64 bit).
I'm trying to update to Mars and I've added 'http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars/' as an update site but when hitting 'Check for Updates' I'm just getting 'No updates were found'.
I've tried closing and re-opening Eclipse, and reloading the update site, but no change.
Any ideas what the problem is?

This can be caused by additional software that you had installed into your Luna IDE. Can you please show us a screenshot
    of your Installed Software dialog?
I've tried it with a fresh Luna SR2 IDE (for Java Developers, no other software installed) and it properly updates to
    Mars after I added http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars .

  • RCPTT Eclipse Mars Plugin NullPointerException

    Hi,
I can see that Eclipse Mars has RCPTT with it, as given in https://projects.eclipse.org/releases/mars .
I downloaded Mars M6 from http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/S-4.5M6-201503200800/ and tried to install RCPTT plugin from http://download.eclipse.org/rcptt/release/1.5.5/repository/ Update site. From Installation details I can see that RCPTT 2.0 is installed.
I tried to run the application as the steps given in https://www.eclipse.org/rcptt/documentation/faq/install-as-plugin/ . But it throws an exception.
An internal error occurred during: "Launching <AppName>RCPTT".
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    This is the error log.

I have attached the screen shot (Method1.PNG)
I then tried the method to go to RCPTT prespective and try to create a RCPTT project and record a test. That time a new error came, which is given in screen shot (Method2.PNG)
The Application for both the above two methods are chosen by the following steps.
Run the application which need to be tested using RCPTT. Save the run configuration as a .launch file.
Go to Run Configuration > Create New Eclipse Application under Test.
Choose the .launch file in target and click Run.
This new Run Configuration will be seen in Applications tab in RCPTT perspective.
Is this method right? However there is another option in Applications tab in RCPTT perspective. There I can add a new application by right click New and select the application. Whenever I try to select the application, it says "Invalid product location". I am selecting the location of the .product file. I tried to choose other locations like .target, etc as well. The message "invalid product location" did not go. Do I have to try this method as well? I think it need to provide me something same as the above method with I have mentioned.
    Please find two images attached.
    Thank you

    Hi all,
I have an identical problem with Papyrus project. I used Oomph setup to configure the workspace of my IDE and I installed RCPTT plugins from the Eclipse Mars update site (http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars).
I created an Eclipse Application under test and, when I launch it, I have a NPE.

I added in attachment the Papyrus Launcher configuration and the AUT Launcher configuration. I wanted to attach the aimed target file but this one doesn't exist in .metadata folder.
The used target platform with my IDE is a Targlet which is created by Oomph.

  • Eclipse Mars Install New Features/Update fails with HTTP Code 416

    Hi,
I'm currently trying to update my working Eclipse Luna (for Java and DSL
Developers) to the new Mars version (seperate fresh installation), but I keep getting an error, which I was unable to resolve.
The workstation has to use a corporate proxy and it was always a little bit tricky to get the Eclipse Marketplace and Install New Feature/Update working. My Luna Eclipse is configured (network settings) to use "Manual" as Active Provider, with the correct host + port + user + password combination. I also got the known bugs
    https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=281472 and
    https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=281384 , so I added the infamous "-Dorg.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.excludeContributors=org.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.httpclient4"
option in the eclipse.ini. While this is working in Luna, I cannot use the Marketplace or Update features in Mars.
I can open the Marketplace and it actually shows all the plugins, I can select one for install and the plugin-dependency-tree is show, but the next step fails with the following message:

Check for Update shows the same result.
I tried googling for this kind of error, but it seems no one has reported this problem so far. I'm a little bit lost what to do now (apart from using Luna again), since exactly the same configuration is working in Luna, but is unusable for me in Mars. The network access seems to work because Mars can load the dependency tree of a Marketplace plugin. Every other combination in the network settings fails because of the corporate proxy.
So, any suggetions how to find the root cause? It's quite possible the corporate proxy is misconfigured, but I hope you can help me finding the difference between the working Luna and the (for me) broken Mars, so I know what has to be configured differently. Something seems to be changed in the way the packages are downloaded.
    Thank you very much!

  • Eclipse update site for FlexUnit 4.1?

Is there an update site that I can point Eclipse at to update the FlexUnit plugin to FlexUnit 4.1?
If not, then how are people updating Eclipse?

Still not good (sorry).  I tried the flex one alone, and when that didn't work, I add the following.
    fluint-extensions-4.1.0-8-4.1.0.16076.swc
    flexunit-uilistener-4.1.0-8-4.1.0.16076.swc
To be honest, I'm a bit confused as to how this all fits together.  I'm assuming that when I run "Execute FlexUnit Tests" from the Navigator, that the Adobe plugin will interrogate the code and set up the main test application called FlexUnitApplication.mxml.  Then it just runs that.
To normalize my results I did this.
    1.  Cleaned Unit Test project.
    2.  Ran Execute Flex Unit Test from navigator.  This time it ran, but the Test method I had using a dataProvider, similar to the example on the website, gave the following error.
"Error: Method badFormTest should have no parameters.

<p>Hi Cameron,</p><p>    I believe the error message is indicating that our plugin is requiring a version of org.eclipse.ui 3.1.0 or higher. Does your current version of Eclipse have Crystal Reports for Eclipse already installed? If not, then it is likely you will need additional plugins from the Eclipse.org site which are not installed by default. </p><p>I just tried this on my end and selected the Callisto Discovery Site as well as the Business Objects site. After selecting the latest version of CR4E, I expanded the Callisto Discovery Site and clicked the "Select Required" button. This allowed my download to go through. • Eclipse Update Site Maintenance Tonight

The Eclipse update site will be down briefly this evening for scheduled maintenance. The failover / load balancing unit in front of the servers are getting rules adjusted so we no longer redirect update site requests from http to https (i.e. http://dev2devclub.bea.com/updates/wlevs-tools/2.0/site.xml to https://dev2devclub.bea.com/updates/wlevs-tools/2.0/site.xml).
It has scheduled 6p to 8p Pacific for this work, but we expect to be done by 6p. The rules will be adjusted right around 6p and then we'll do the necessary testing to ensure that routes through the unit are working as expected.

  • E(fx)clipse update sites

    Hallo,
I am integrating e(fx)clipse in my development environment to build a JavaFx Applications based on GEF4.
I would like to understand the difference in the content of different update sites.
As example i consider the three following update sites:
    http://download.eclipse.org/efxclipse/updates-released/2.0.0/site/
    http://download.eclipse.org/efxclipse/simrel-contrib/mars/m7/tools/site/
    http://download.eclipse.org/efxclipse/updates-nightly/site/
    I see that :
Update sites 1. and 2. they have the same major version, but different timestamp.
--> So, question 1 : In this case, for final user development purposes, it is always better to get the plugin from the update site with the latest timestamp ?
I see that 1. and 2. they both contains the 2.0.0 version, while the 3. contains the 2.1.0.
--> So, question 2 : For integration purposes (GEF4 will be integrated with the latest e(fx)clipse), it is always better to get the plugins from the site with the highest version ?
Thank you in advance, for the time you spend in responding to this question, which I think it might be even trivial from your point of view.
    Kind Regards.

This is the release we published as part of the release train.
This is our m7 contribution. Our SimRel final contribution is at
    http://download.eclipse.org/efxclipse/simrel-contrib/mars/rc4/tools/site/ which
    is identical to
    http://download.eclipse.org/efxclipse/updates-released/2.0.0/site/

This is the nightly build which will result in our next minor release
    scheduled for Mid August
    (https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/technology.efxclipse/releases/2.1.0)
An update-site you did not mention is our runtime-site - I don't know if
the app you develop will be based on e4 but this the runtime-site is
fully self-contained so you can add GEF4 to it and things should work
    quite well.
Please also note if your application does not need to plug itself in the
Eclipse IDE NO e(fx)clipse stuff is strictly needed! You only need our
special classloading hook if you want to embedd GEF4 in SWT!

We try to keep our nightly stable so you should be able to target the
nightly while developing and if our release schedule which is roughly
going to 6-8 weeks until next March.

  • Problem starting Eclipse Mars, "

I have been running Eclipse Kepler on a very large C/C++ project for a few years. Recently, I have experienced a drastic slow-down in the UI, which I have not been able to resolve. So, I have decided to upgrade to the latest version of Eclipse in order to see if that will fix my problem. Unfortunately, I have encountered several problems with the newer version of Eclipse.
I am running Eclipse Mars on CentOS 6.6. I have downloaded it from Eclipse, not using an RPM or other package for my OS. I also downloaded Oracle's JRE 1.8.0.45, and configured the eclipse.ini to use that version of Java. Finally, I have pointed Eclipse to my existing Kepler workspace in order to retain all of that precious information.
When Eclipse starts up, it displays my existing workspace, and also an error message:
'Setup check' has encountered a problem.
An internal error occurred during: "Setup check".
    The details state:

  • Eclipse Mars (4.5.0): unable to run JUnit-Plugin test with Target Platform 3.8.2

Using Eclipse Mars (4.5.0) I cannot run JUnit Plug-in tests.
I'm using the Eclipse Juno (3.8.2) as target platform and JDT complains about missing bundle org.eclipse.core.runtime v3.11.0:

If I update my target platform to use the following 2 jars:
    org.eclipse.core.runtime_3.11.0.v20150405-1723 .jar
    org.eclipse.equinox.common_3.7.0.v20150402-1709.jar
    then it works fine.
Is this the expected behavior? Do I need to have a more recent target platform?
Or is there any configuration I need to bypass this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
i have the same problem and personally can not think that this is intended.
Why is this plugin searching for its dependency org.eclipse.core.runtime within the TargetPlatform (at least it looks like it).
I personally, do not want to enhance my target with this dependency. It has never been needed before. I also do not want to be forced to upgrade my TargetPlatform just because of this.
Can someone give some more detailed explanation why this now happens?
    Thanks,
    Stefan
