Eclipse WebLogic 8.1 plugin

I have installed the eclipse OEPE plugin using the update feature in Eclipse Ganymede from the site http://download.oracle.com/otn_software/oepe/ganymede
However after installing the plugins, I am still not able to see any new controls in Eclipse to start or stop my WL8.1 server. I even checked the eclipse preference which shows Weblogic and shared libraries, which makes no sense to me in terms of managing and debugging applications on the weblogic 8.1 server. Please guide me what can be done for this.
Thanks
Jacob

You first need to get your application into Eclipse. There is quite a lot to cover. I searched for online articles on this topic and didn't find anything that wasn't extremely dated.
This book is pretty good, though. If you can get your hands on it, it will help get you up to speed with using Eclipse Web Tools Platform (WTP). Once you have the basics figured out, it will be fairly obvious how to use WLS 8.1 server adapter that ships in OEPE.

  • "add and remove projects" problem in eclipse weblogic tool 1.1.3

    Hello,
i installed eclipse weblogic tool 1.1.3. When i try to add a project to the server, it cannot even list my java projects. I found out that it only list those dynamic web projects.
My question is: is it possible to add java project to server. My java project includes src and webRoot, which is deployed in weblogic 10.
Also, when i set a breakpoint in jsp. I always have the source not found problem. Is there a way to get around this?
    Thanks

    Hi
Java project cannot be deployed to the server standalone.
One way to do is to create a ear project and add the web project and java project to it. If you create the web project and java project after EAR project creation then you can add to ear when creating web and java projects.
But if you already have web and java projects, create a ear project and right click on ear project -> properties -> project reference -> check both projects. Also right click on ear project -> properties -> j2ee module dependencies -> check both projects.
Now build the ear project and you will see the java project part of ear and the web project can refer to the java project classes.

  • How to run a servlet in eclipse using "SAP Portal Plugin"  ( not tomcat)

    Hi All
I'm just trying to create a simple servlet in Eclipse using SAP Portal Plugin but I couldn't find any document.
    I have an eclipse 2.1
    EP6 SP2 patch 5
    SAP Portal Plugin
I created a Portal Application Project.
I created a simple servlet and save it under src.core directory.
    My question is as follow:
    1) Which directory I should put in the file web.xml?
    2) Do I export this as *.par file?
    3) When I export it. Can I just call the servlet from the url?
    Anyone help.. I really appreciate.
    thanks much.
    Jen

    Hi,
Portal plugin is used for developing SAP Portal applications ie Java iviews.
There is a set of procedures to develop Java iViews . You can develop either AbstractPortalComponent which is more or less equivalent of servlet in ordinary java world or JSPDynPage which is equivalent of JSP.
These plugins are used to develop any of the above portal components. If you are developing java applications for portal then you have to develop either of the above using the tools. These portlets( portal applications runs on Portal run time)
But servlets can run on J2EE itself.
But if your requirement is to develop servlet then you can create ordinary java project and deploy that in the J2EE server as like in any app server.

  • Does the web server of weblogic support any plugins

Does the web server of weblogic support any plugins similar to the ISAPI plugins for IIS or apache plugins?

i can't seem to get it to work either AND I can't seem to find an answer here or any search that I do.  It seems that you can only view your calendar and not delegate calendars via the web view

  • Is there any Eclipse Pulsar and JCDE Plugin for Java Card 2.2.1?

    Hi Friends..
I want to know is there any Eclipse Pulsar and JCDE Plugin that still supports for Java Card 2.2.1?
Actually, currently i use Eclipse Pulsar and JCDE Plugin but it support only for Java Card 2.2.2..
I tried to set the Java Card Preference into JCDK 2.2.1, but it couldn't be set because converter.jar isn't compatible..
    Please help me regarding this..
    Thanks in advance..

There is, but it's very limited.
    1. Put the Library on a disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    2. Point both machines at it.
    3. That's it.
    But remember:
A strong warning: If you're trying to edit the Library (that is, make albums, move photos around, keyword, make books or slideshows etc.) or edit individual photos in it via Wireless be very careful. Dropouts are a common fact of wireless networking, and should one occur while the app is writing to the database then your Library will be damaged. Simply, I would not do this with my Libraries.
    Also
Only one user can open a library at a time.

  • Weblogic 8.1 plugin for Eclipse

How come there's no plug-in for 8.1 from BEA? Any idea if there's going to be one?
I tried some third party plug-ins (Lomboz, EASIE), but they require the project
modules to be created using their wizards which doesn't work well with my project
structure. When debugging, it doesn't break at break points.
    Any recommendations?

Could you please send me the changes for plugin too. Also can we publish these
changes in eclipse wiki page as well. It will save you trouble.

  • How to add weblogic portal related plugins to my IDE

    Hi friends,
I am new to weblogic portal 10.3,How to add wlp 10.3. related functionality to my Eclipse IDE .Can you please provide the suitable plugins to work with wlportal 10.3.
    thanks,
    krishna kolla.

    Hi Pramod,
You can try this workaround for this:
Create a DC of type ext library (If already done, then put a Build Time Dependency. Also add all the Jar Files to a Assembly and Complation Public part)
Create a J2EE Application project and define the dependency on the Ext Lib project *Assembly
An ear gets generated that you can deploy on your server.
You need to define a Runtime dependency to this J2EE project in your project where you want to use the jar files.
This way you can proceed with the development and later on chage the reference when you get the proper method to do so.
    Hope this helps!!
    Cheers,

  • Eclipse - Weblogic Server : Unable to validate WebLogic Domain

    Hello,
I am using Eclipse Helios 3.6.1 to connect to a remote WebLogic server (10.3.3). When defining the server object (in the Servers view), I get "Stopped, unable to validate Weblogic Domain'.
The following exception is shown in the logging
java.net.ConnectException: t3://webl1:7001: Destination unreachable; nested exception is:
java.net.ProtocolException: unrecognized response from proxy: 'HTTP/1.1 502 Proxy Error ( The specified Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) port is not allowed. ISA Server is not configured to allow SSL requests from this port. Most Web browsers use port 443 for SSL requests. )'; No available router to destination
I already tested the following alternatives
    - towards several Weblogic Servers (as well Wintel as Linux)
    - I recreated the domain
    - I added the hostname in the <manual> Proxy settings of Eclipse and selected for this <manual> setting.
    - I am able to connect to that server by means of a WLST utility project.
It is something weird, because a couple of weeks ago, I encountered the same issue. I thought it disappeared by updating from Eclipse 3.6.0 toward 3.6.1 (with also an upgrade of the Oracle related plugins). But now I have the same issue again.
Do you have any idea ? (or which forum is more appropriate for this question

I was able to fix this by ensuring that E:\ofm11g\wlserver_10.3 contained two files: .home and .product.properties.  After I copied these from a different server and edited to fit my environment, I was able to successfully install this patch.

  • Weblogic Http Apache Plugin not working

  • Auto-Deployment is not working in Eclipse - Weblogic

I have created weblogic server instance in Eclipse. Then, I have added one project into weblogic server by using "Add/Remove Projects" menu. After I start the server , I logged into admin console and checked the deployments link. I am not finding the project listed in the list.I have selected option "Run stand alone web module directly from work space" in web logic server configuration window in eclipse.
I am using Eclipse 3.3 and weblogic 10.0.
I have no idea, why auto-deployment is not working.
I would appreciate your help on this regard.I have contacted Eclipse Support, they have asked me to contact BEA team.
    Thanks,
    Prakash.A

    Hi Prakash,
The "Run standalone web module from workspace" doesn't publish the application to the server (instead the app is deployed to a temp location).
This is mainly to help test the app during the development stages. If your app is complete and would like to publish to the server then you might want to try the following option
    - In Server View, double click on the configuration to launch Overview
    - Select "Copy stand-alone web module into separate deployment folder"
    - Save the configuration
    - Start the server
The application would be deployed to the server as a WAR file.

  • [solved]eclipse wont install ecb plugin

    Hello,
i'm trying to install ecb plugin from eclipse, but it just wont get installed. I tried to install eclipse-ecb from arch repository, but after installing it. eclipse doesn't have an option to create any c/c++ project. Ok, then i thought install it from eclipse repo. So i added http://download.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/indigo as repo in eclipse checked "C++ development tools" hit install and then eclipse started to download the packages, but suddenly on 33 percent i get this:
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
    session context was:(profile=SDKProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).

Then i deleted .eclipse directory and tried again and again, and i always run in to this issue, even if i try to install ecb from a local repo. Please help me to investigate the problem.
Solution: uninstall eclipse, delete /usr/share/eclipse, reinstall.

Thanks for the hint, inxsible, downgrading to JRE 1.6 solved it.
For the sake of others who might run into the same problem: I downloaded jre-6u26-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz from the Arch Rollback Machine, installed it (
    pacman -U jre-6u26-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
    ) and added
    jre
    to the
    IgnorePkg
    line in
    /etc/pacman.conf
so it won't get replaced in the next update.
After doing that, Eclipse suffered PermGen Out-of-memory-errors. Adding
    -XX:MaxPermSize=128M
    to
    /usr/share/eclipse/eclipse.ini
fixed that and now m2e installs fine.

  • Problem with WebLogic 10.3.3, Apache 2.2.3 and WebLogic Apache proxy plugin

I have a problem with using Apache 2.2.3 as a WebLogic SSL proxy. I have Apache 2.2 running and successfully configured an SSL cert, config in ssl.conf is...
    <VirtualHost secure.daftdonkey.com>
    # Setup SSL for secure.daftdonkey.com
    ServerName secure.daftdonkey.com
    SSLEngine On
    SSLCertificateFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.crt
    SSLCertificateKeyFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.key
    SSLCertificateChainFile /oracle/secure/gd_bundle.crt
    </VirtualHost>
    This works fine
Now I want Apache to proxy requests to my WebLogic Server and secure them over SSL as well
    e.g. a request to https://secure.daftdonkey.com/service goes to https://weblogic.internal.site/service
I have downloaded and configured the weblogic module and tested it handling traffic for HTTP and that worked, then I switched the WebLogic module to use SSL.
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl.so
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicHost weblogic.internal.site
    WebLogicPort 16101
    Debug ALL
    SecureProxy ON
    WLSSLWallet /oracle/secure/my-wallet
    WLLogFile /tmp/wl-proxy.log
    </IfModule>
    <Location /service>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    </Location>
Starting Apache throws the error. I think this is my main problem, i've searched support.oracle.com and not found anything.

I found the answer to this. The documentation is not clear enough, LD_LIBRARY_PATH MUST be set and MUST have a pointer to the directory where the SSL .so modules are. I wrote up a blog article explaining the configuration and detailed this issue.

  • Weblogic plugin for eclipse not working...

    Hi All:
I recently downloaded the weblogic plugin (1.1.1) for eclipse from here: http://dev2dev.bea.com/codelibrary/code/wlplugin.jsp.
I followed the installation steps as laid out in the readme file, but I am not
seeing the 'WebLogic' option in the 'Window' -> 'Customize Perspective...' ->
    'Other' node.
I have tried with both eclipse 2.1.3 and 3.0.0 on windows 2k, with the same result.
I know I am missing something here 'coz reading posts from this group it appears
people are using it fairly successfully.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards
    Sanjeev

Two issues with the BEA Weblogic/Eclipse plugin:
    1. The documentation hasn't been updated (readme.html). It still says 1.1.0 even though the current version is 1.1.1.
    2. Assuming that the readme.html still applies to version 1.1.1, the language pack of the plugin is missing. The instructions say to copy the language pack (com.bea.eclipse.weblogic.nl1_1.1.0) to the Eclipse plugins directory. But this folder is not in the plugin zip file. Is this supposed to be downloaded separately?
In any case, the plugin isn't registering in Eclipse 2.1. I can only guess that it's because the language pack is missing. It looks like others are having problems as well.
    Any word on this?
    Thanks in advance,
