EDIFACT File TO IDOC Archive directory file name.

HI Experts,
I have EDIFACT file to IODC scenario. I have  multiple source file locaiton but only one Archive location directory. But I have three different kind of file coming form three different location.
we can only have one archive directory per service, is it possible to manipulate the file name so we can tell if files were successful or failed?
For example, FileName1.txt, if it was successful, it would move to the archive directory and rename to u201CFileName1.txt.PASSu201D,
if it failed it would move to archive directory like u201CFileName1.txt.FAILu201D. Is this functionality possible?
Or will we just have to rely on Alert Categories to tell us when files have failed?
Kindly give your valuable suggestion.

Sumit Gupta

When you say success or failure does it mean a successful IDoc created in SAP? if so you will have to use a BPM and on successful creation fo the IDoc write the file out with the PASS name else FAIL name.
you can also look at employing  scripts but there is no standard feature for this requirement. I gather alert is a better option.

  • File to idoc scenario with file size 16 MB

    Hi experts
We are developing  a file to idoc scenario. The file is a 16 mb CSV txt file.Is it feasible to poll a 16 mb file at a single shot or any mechanism can be followed which would split the 16 mb file into manageable size files so that it can be polled from the adapter engine side. Will there be any performance bottleneck fr polling 16 mb file .Plz provide help in this regard

    Hi Sabyasachi,
There would be absolutely no problem , you need not worry. I myself am using a 16 MB master record file.
The problem only arises when you need to open this 16 MB file for into some errors or some other changes then invariably what happens is that my desktop hangs.

    Example:

    I see this link

very helpfull but i don't know how to parameterize variable of year and month.
i try with this but don't work:
    SET CC=%DATE:6,4%%DATE:3,2%
    open ftp

    any suggestion?

    Hi,
I m not taking about FTP server. Your PI is on Windows or Unix.
Id it is on UNIX the put the UNIX script to PI file system and give the path.
FTP adapter pick the file from FTP location and the pick the UNIX script from PI FIle system and run script ..archive the files and then send message for further processing.
    Thanks

  • File-to-IDoc, but the file structure is equal to the IDoc structure

    hi,
we have a scenario where the incoming message has to be picked up by FTP. The incoming message is a flat file, no delimiters, no separators, nothing, however is exactly the IDoc structure.
Since the file adapter does not know how the structure is set up, because no tags are present, it can not translate the filestructure into any format. Therefore it can not be processed further.
Is there a way for a fileadapter to convert this plain file to an IDoc format, or to call the file-to-IDocadapter up front, the same way as if you would use in SAP the fileport in IDoc processing ??
    thanks!

    Hi Alexander,
XI understands ONLY XML. All messages to and from XI are always XML messages.
Now, if the file being placed by your Legacy System is not going to be an XML file, then you can use the content conversion of your sender File adapter to convert this non XML file to an XML file.
Same way, if the file that is required by your 3rd party application should not be in a XML format, you can use content conversion of the receiver adapter to convert XML to text and so on.
Basic point, all messages that reach the inegration engine of XI need to be in XML format and so you need content conversion to conevrt non xml to xml and vice versa.
To make note mapping cannot be performed with a flat file as XI understands only XML. Hence content conversion required.
Please go thru these links for step by step procedure to do the same:

  • What type of file should 'Split Archive Segment' files join together to make?

I am trying to open a file that has been split into 'Split Archive Segments'. After Stuffit Expander, (which did recognize the files), repeatedly crashed after attempting to open the first segment, I downloaded an application called AJoiner, on recommendation of another thread on the apple support community, which did manage to 'join' the segments together into one file. The only problem is that my macintosh has no idea what the format of the file is, (Get Info lists the file's 'kind' as 'document', and the icon is a blank sheet of paper), and the file has no windows-style filename extension appended, meaning that the windows I have installed in VirtualBox on my mac has no idea what it is either, despite the file supposedly being or containing a windows application. What should the filename extension for this type of file be, or what application should be able to open it?

  • Removal of Line feed from EDI file in IDOC to EDI file scenario

    Hi Experts,
I have one problem related to line feed in EDI file. Currently i am using seeburger mapping to do XML to EDI mapping. After mapping i am using File Adapter(with NFS) to create file in my PI server.
    The line looks like
    UNB+UNOA......
    UNH+1.......
    BGM.........
but i want my file in without line feed
    UNBUNOA......UNH1......BGM
Can this be possible without use of Shell script?
Is anything i can do in Seeburger mapping [i checked BIC mapper in seeburger and see some parameters there]?
    Regards,
    Shradha

    Hi,
I am explaining my scenario in detail:
my Current EDI file looks like
    UNAf1f2............'
    UNBf1f2............'
    BGMf1f2............'
    UNHf1f2............'
now i want my file to be in following format
    UNAf1f2............'UNBf1f2............'BGMf1f2............'UNHf1f2............'
NOTE: to create my current file i am using File adapter with NFS and seeburger mapping.
Can you please tell me a way to remove the line feed from the current file ?
I already tried newline checkbox from seeburger and it is not working. and other parameter i can use from see burger mapping tool which will remove my line feed.

  • FTPAdapter - logical directory name - file not moved to archive directory

I created a simple ftp service to read the file from remote inbound directory and archive it to an "archive" directory using logical directories. I supplied the input and archive directories. The process reads the file from the input directory, but doesnt move it to archive directory. In the opmn logs i see the following message
File Adapter::Outbound> Since file could not be copied to specified archive directory, file : CUST__20081113002951.xml is being copied to a default archive directory :/apps/oracle/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/fileftp/defaultArchive/
I checked the a) directory permission - this is the ftp users home directory , so it has all the bits set rwxrxrx- I even tried rwxrwxrwx, but same issue
    b) there is enough space on the box
    c) I can manually move the files around as the same user.
Secondly, the files under the default archive directories are being created as root. Not sure why. Our server is running as "oracle" user.
    We are on 10.1.3.4
any idea how to troubleshoot this ?
    Edited by: user9514124 on Nov 13, 2008 5:27 PM

Just a thought. You are trying to archive to an FTP user's home directory. I assume that you want to archive remotely (on the source server)? If so you need to specify UseRemoteArchive="true" in the WSDL file for the adapter. If you forget that the adapter archives locallly on the SOA Suite server and perhaps there the directories are indeed missing or have the wrong rights?
If you are using remote archiving and it doesn't work, have you tried to login with an FTP client and upload a file to the archive folder with FTP (as the FTP adapter user)? That is what the FTP adapter will do.
If you are using local archiving, check all the parent directories and make sure that they are fine as well as the target directory. Also look into the file ownership issue, the files should not be created as root if everything really runs as oracle! Perhaps someone has accidentally started something as root?
    Good luck!

  • Error Deleting/Archiving processed files

    Hi all,
I'm working with a File (xml) to Idoc scenario. I have configured Sender File Channel to read files and after that deleting . SAP XI can read the files (xml files) and send to my SAP R/3 system but I in communication channel monitoring I get a message "Could not delete file 'p:.xml' after processing".
I have tried with archiving and I get a similar error, but in this case it makes the archiving twice (I get 2 files in the archiving directory) and it doesn´t delete the original file from the reading directory, so SAP XI is ever reading and archiving.
    Does anyone know any solution?
    Thanks.
    Antonio.

    Hi Antonio,
can you check if those files have <b>read only</b> attributes?
if so you cannot delete them from the directory ? (or archive )

  • IDocs not created in file to IDoc scenario

    Hi all
I am trying this file to IDoc scenario.
File picked up successfully and sent to R/3 Backend…But Idoc is not posted…the status records
In /n we05 in R/3 Backend shows that EDI: Partner profile inbound not available
I created/tested all basics like RFC dest, port etc.
File service that I am using is a business service …hence I am specifying a Logical system name in
<b>Adapter specific Identifiers</b> of the file service.
I disabled EDI_DC40 control tag record as IDoc adapter
    takes care of it.
So at first I tried the configuration of IDoc comm. Channel by checking the Apply control record values from payload
But SXMB monitor gave an error regarding this control record tag…I guess as we have disabled it so there won’t be any values
for control record in payload (correct me if I am wrong).
So I unchecked the checkbox Apply control record values from payload and monitor showed up as successfully processed.
But in the backend I am getting this error regarding partner profile.
I also tried to use an existing profile (<b>LS</b> type) by modifying it’s inbound parameters to accept <b>CREMAS</b> Idoc.
But the error is as persistent as me

  • Multi mapping.. is it possible File to Idoc & FIle .. its urgent?????

    Hi All,
    File to Idoc & File.
I need to pick the file and i need to do multi mapping, so that from the file we can generate
one idoc which has to go to SAP and
one acknowledgment's file and sent back to partner.
Based on the below blog, looks like we can't use Idoc adapter when the target message is Idoc using Multi mapping.
    /people/jin.shin/blog/2006/02/07/multi-mapping-without-bpm--yes-it146s-possible
Can anyone suggest me how i can achieve this scenario without using BPM.??
    Regards
    Seema.

    Hi,
The Multi mapping is possible without BPM but not for IDOC as its not part of Java Stack. IDOC adapter is on ABAP stack.
    As Raj have suggested,
You could create two different Mappings one for file to IDOC and another for file to file as an acknowledgment.
In Receiver determination you need to use multiple receivers as IDOC --R/3 receiver and the File receiver system.
It will create the IDOC as well as push the acknowledgment to file also.
But incase if you get any problem with sending the IDOC then also you will get successful acknowledgment via file. So directly there will not be any relation between these IDOC and File receivers as an delivery recipt of IDOC.
Here either you have to use the IDOC acknowledgment feature or BPM or Alert notification to get the exact notification about the IDOC posting to receiver system.

  • Removing archived log files

    Hello all,
Using Oracle 10g R2 ( 10.2.4.0) under UNIX Sun Solaris 10 , I have two rman backup types
    1-L0 backup
    2-L1 Backup ( Incremental cummulative)
    Facts:
-Due to space pressure on archived log destination I'm trying to get less archived files possible under the archived log fs thus at any given time the archived log files destination contains archived log files aged no more than 22hours.
    * The backup runs each day at 4PM and there is custom script that remove and compressed archived log files ( out of backup jobs windows) from midnight until 3:45PM
    * From the above removal schedule task L0 or L1 backup will always have 24 hours worth of archived log files available during the backup.
-The Backup files Windows retention period is 22 hours meaning that each backup type L0 or L1 removes previous backup files aged more than 22hours.
    -Tracking file is enabled
    Target:
Knowing that our backup retention windows is 22hours.
Our next goal is to get less than 2 hours from 24 hours of archived log files available when L0 or L1 backup.
Would this affect L1 backup? and how?
Thank in advance for your response

AlexI'm not sure what you are talking about with Backup files Windows retention period ... 22 hours".
I don't know what you mean by "Our next goal is to get less than 2 hours from 24 hours of archived log files available when L0 or L1 backup."
If you are not taking your database backups with rman you are on shaky ground. The principles are simple. To recover your database from a failure, you will need to start with an L0 backup. The rman RESTORE command will then restore individual blocks from any applicable and available L1 backups. You would follow that with a RECOVER command, that would attempt to apply all necessary redo from available archivelogs. If the necessary archivelogs have been deleted, rman will attempt to restore them from a backup. You can use rman to backup AND DELETE archivelog files to keep the archivelog destination cleaned out.
I take an L0 backup once a week, an L1 the other 6 days, and archivelogs twice a day. The only time I've had a problem with the archivelog dest filling up is when some buggy code that has a loop goes into production and starts flooding redo.
Exactly how are you taking your database backups? If you are not using rman, then you are already on shaky ground.
