FTPAdapter - logical directory name - file not moved to archive directory

I created a simple ftp service to read the file from remote inbound directory and archive it to an "archive" directory using logical directories. I supplied the input and archive directories. The process reads the file from the input directory, but doesnt move it to archive directory. In the opmn logs i see the following message
File Adapter::Outbound> Since file could not be copied to specified archive directory, file : CUST__20081113002951.xml is being copied to a default archive directory :/apps/oracle/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/fileftp/defaultArchive/
I checked the a) directory permission - this is the ftp users home directory , so it has all the bits set rwxrxrx- I even tried rwxrwxrwx, but same issue
b) there is enough space on the box
c) I can manually move the files around as the same user.
Secondly, the files under the default archive directories are being created as root. Not sure why. Our server is running as "oracle" user.
We are on 10.1.3.4
any idea how to troubleshoot this ?

Just a thought. You are trying to archive to an FTP user's home directory. I assume that you want to archive remotely (on the source server)? If so you need to specify UseRemoteArchive="true" in the WSDL file for the adapter. If you forget that the adapter archives locallly on the SOA Suite server and perhaps there the directories are indeed missing or have the wrong rights?
If you are using remote archiving and it doesn't work, have you tried to login with an FTP client and upload a file to the archive folder with FTP (as the FTP adapter user)? That is what the FTP adapter will do.
If you are using local archiving, check all the parent directories and make sure that they are fine as well as the target directory. Also look into the file ownership issue, the files should not be created as root if everything really runs as oracle! Perhaps someone has accidentally started something as root?
Good luck!

  • Save to web directory name is not valid error

Hi, I typed my question a second ago and it took me to another screen.  I apologize if there is a duplicate somewhere else.
I was trying to spare some room on my C: drive so when I went to save for web last time, I decided to save the images and html on D: drive instead of C:.    Ever since then, when I go to save for web I get this error message: "Could not complete this operation.  The directory name is not valid".   I even uninstalled PS and reinstalled it to see if the factory default settings might override whatever I screwed up!  Didn't help.
I really appreciate your help, I'm on a deadline working on my website and need this fixed so quickly!!!!!
    Thank you!

That wouldn't be a "file" but a directory, also called a folder.
So you would first look for a directory/folder named "Users", inside which you should find a directory/folder labeled with your own name (as a user).  Inside said directory/folder named after you there should be the directory/folder labeled "AppData".  If you cannot find the latter, then STOP immediately .  It would mean that we are not communicating at all and you're in danger of causing great harm to your machine!

STOP AT ONCE !   I don't remotely understand what you're trying to say there, and that means that there's definitely a serious miscommunication here.  I said nothing about "sets of Photoshop files", nor do I understand what you mean by that.
Hopefully a Windows user will chime in to undo whatever confusion I caused and maybe even post a screenshot or two to show you what to do.
Sorry about all of this.    I should have shut up right after post #5.  My bad!

  • Moving file from Target to Archive Directory

    Hi All,
My Scenario is that we have a .txt file in Target directory in SAP PI (AL11) and when an arching Script is run this file is moved from Target folder to Archive Folder and also uploaded in R3.
Now the requirement is that the file is transffered from Target to Archive folder without being processed. Now the user want the file back in Taget folder from Archive Folder also user also wants to know who has run the Script.
Please let me know how to put file back from Archive to target folder and check the log as who Run the Script.
    Regards,
    Nidhi

    Hi Nidhi,
I think i am not getting your question
    >>when an arching Script is run this file is moved from Target folder to Archive Folder and also uploaded in R3.
Now how the script is run? using OS commands of File adapter or by some other means
    >>Now the user want the file back in Taget folder from Archive Folder also user also wants to know who has run the Script.
For getting it back in Target folder, you can manually copy it. Also to see who has done this you need to check how the scripts run. If it runs as a standalone one then you need to see whether in the system you have some log files of the run. If file adapter runs this scripts then check the Communication channel monitoring log (BTW it if was File communication channel which invoked this Scripts then the message would have sent to PI. Need to recheck that too)

  • Underscore in directory name does not work any more?

    Hi All,

XML files put in the directory were picked up correctly and sending partner identified as "cust_1". After I installed patch 7184219 the behaviour changed. Hi,
If you don't see "directory format" in the UI, you may create it by following the below,
    1. Run setenv.bat (or its equivalent on UNIX flaovour OS) under $ORACLE_HOME/ip/install. This would set the necessary classpath.
    2. Run the java program as below
java oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.data.B2BTransportParamSeed transportParam.file 3. The transportParam.file given as argument can be just a text file with the following as its contents to instruct B2B to create "directory format" configuration parameter. Contents are below

    // protocol = HTTP || HTTPS || EMail || FTP || File || SFTP

  • OS command working but file not moved

    HI All,
I am facing an issue with receiver File adapter OS command.
OS command will move file from folder A to B and after remove
It was working previously fine. But now it is not moving file.
In CC logs it is showing as successfull ececution of OS command.
I have checked the folder authorisations and they have not changed....
    Any inputs regarding this issue??
    Regards.

    Hi kiran,
although you ave checke authorization, I gues it has something to to with this.
Is the user in communication channel still autorized?
Try to logOn with an FTP-Client an this user an PW on the relevant folders.
Or could it be that a file with the same filename already extist an the folder is not allowed to overwrite?

  • User account name and home directory name do not match

A month ago I bought the latest iMac and used Migration assistant to migrate all of my data on over.
Everything went well... Except that my new iMac would not let me use my old user name. I had to create somethign else.
So my user (admin) account name is not the same as my Home directory name. (I only have 1 user account and 1 user Home directory... they both are named differently).
This has not caused problems, but I want to iron this out. I tried using System Preferences/Users and groups to change my user account name to match the name of my home directory name (which has my old user name)... but when I did that it said "Name not available".
Long time Mac user but I'm not comfortable doing anything deeper without some input & advice.
    Thanks in advance!

I enable the Root user as outlined in the Apple Way instructions...logged out and loged in as the rooot user... but I really don't want to change the name of my user directory... That's the name I want to keep as a User.
Even logged in as a Root User...
I tried to change my current User Name to match by directory name, but it said Name is Not Available
I also tried to create a new User name that matches my directory name...same results Name is Not Available
Is there a sudo entry that will change the User to match my Directory name (which I want to keep and use)?
    Thank in advance!

  • Input file not a valid archive

    Hi
Originally the application was written in CVI 6.0. I have now created a completly new project and workspace and added all the files.
The compilation works fine. But the error message I get when linking (build) is " error: Input file is not a valid archive: 'c:\Projects\........\bin\i7000.lib'. "
With another library I get the same problem: "uart.lib"
The other lib-files just work fine.
I saw in an old post a solution: to just recreate the project which I did. But it didn't work in my case.
    Any help?
    Cheers Andreas
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

     Hi Maha
    Thanks for your investigations.
The LIBs I use "i7000.lib" resp. "i7000.dll" and "uart.lib" resp. "uart.dll" have an age of about 10 years AND are from a vendor/manufacturer that doesn't support these LIBs anymore.
So first of all we don't have access to the original c code and therefore can't compile/build any new LIB. And most probably they were not made with CVI.
Then as a second thought: these LIB/DLLs follow the standard and conventions of a microsoft LIB/DLL. So this should be some standard interface, even for CVI.
Third, I think there are 1000s of such old (Microsoft standard) libraries still in use all over the industry. Therefore I cannot understand why CVI 2013 is not capabable of linking them to the rest of the code.
Maybe I miss something in my thoughts. Like you mention already an older CVI is not a solution for us. Do you see maybe the possibility of another workaround?
For your understanding I attach the 2 LIBs in a zip-file. Maybe it helps?
    Anyway have a nice wekend.

  • I used to have FF and then I had to reformat. Downloaded file but when it goes to extract, I get Local\temp\7zS6f17.tmp\setup.exe. The directory name is not valid. I've never had this before. Suggestions? ps: can't use firefox because of this =(

This reformat is doing my head in. I hate using IE and was really looking forward to getting back onto FF.
All I did was download the application, try to run it but when it comes to the extraction, a pop up box comes up with the info I've put up there.
Any suggestions that gets me off stupid IE would be appreciated.

In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".
To find your OS information, on your Windows desktop, right-click the My Computer icon, choose Properties, under System on that small window is info about your OS.

  • XMP files not moved

I have searched the fourm and there are a couple of responses to similar questions, but I I can't seen to find how to move the XMP files when I drag a folder of photos from one external drive to another external drive.
I drag the folder with 500 photos over the photos go but I get a message saying the following files did not transfer and its all my XMP files for the images I transfered.  How can I get the folders and the edits to transfer from a 500gb to a 4TB external hard drive
    Thank you in advanced
    Joe Cosentino

Lr creates XMP-files only for Raw images - although the box in >catalog Settings >Metadata tab speaks of " ... write changes to XMP>.
But true XMP-files in the sense of side-car files, i.e a separate little file that sites next to its image file are only created in the case of Raw images. In the case of JPGs, TIFFs, PSDs the changes are written into the header of the file (but not in the image pixels!) and a separate xmp-file is not created.
Lr saves changes to XMP (i.e. writes the changes into the header of JPGs, TIFFs, PSDs and creates separate "true" xmp-files for Raw images) only if you do this either manually (by pressing Ctrl / Cmd + S / or doing >Metadata >Save Metadata to file) or by checking the box <Automatically write changes to XMP> in >Catalog Settings >Metadata tab.
I you do neither of these, Lr will not save to XMP and will not create xmp side-car files for Raw images.
My remark about <Show hidden files> was not meant for Lr. What I meant was that you move the files in your OS (Mac Finder / Win Explorer); and in Win Explorer is an option to <Show Hidden Files> under >Tools >Folder Options >View tab.
If you move images in your OS Lr will show the old folder with a question mark and will show images as "missing". You then have to re-link Lr to the new location of the images.
See here on how to do that: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm
Since it seems to work now, better stay with moving images from within Lr - until you understand the issues involved in moving images in your OS.
