'edit in' options grayed out - how to reset?

When I right click a photo and select the 'edit in' option the selections are grayed out for Photoshop. They Photoshop options are listed but the only choice available is a Portrait Professional (and on on-line portrait editor). How do I fix this? I am using Lightroom 3.2 and Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 7 operating system.

IMovie '08 Clipping Options Grayed Out - How Do I "Trim"

I have successfully imported a variety of HD video content / events from my Sony camera. I can view it, select portions of it and drag it into the project window, etc..
However, I've got all this extra content stored in events that I want to delete so it's not taking up space on my hard drive. When I select an clip in the library, the "trim to selection", "split clip", etc. options are all grayed out.
How do I do this very simple task?

OK, I think I figured it out - was not very intuitive though... But I still have a question..
Basically, what it looks like I need to do is to "select a clip in the event section" and then "reject it". I can then "send rejected clips to trash" which I believe deleted the content from my hard drive..
One question about this..
If I "reject" some content, is there any way to "un reject a portion" without using "undo"? For example, say that I select some unwanted content here and some unwanted content there and then decide that I want to keep a sub clip within one of the clips that I rejected. How can I select that clip and "unreject it". I was able to apple-z to undo ALL my rejections, but that's not exactly what I'm trying to do.
Any ideas?

Re-Editing - Soundbooth Option Grayed Out!

I can initialy edit an a/v file from the timeline with the right-click edit in soundbooth. However, if I want to re-edit it, the option is now grayed out.
Does snyone else have this problem?! Apparently it's a known bug and the work around is meant to be unlinking the A/V file. But this doesn't work either !
Any solutions please ?!

I am having the same trouble with Adobe Premier Pro CS5. I select the clip that I previously edited in SoundBooth but now the Edit in Soundbooth is grayed out. I do not understand the previous solution or work around. Please calrify.

If you've just added an address to your account then it will be an alternate/secondary email address, a rescue email address can only be added by answering 2 of your security questions. If you already had one on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email addressthen you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

What exactly are you trying to do in Photoshop CC? Can you outline in detail what steps you're taking and what's confusing you?

I When I go to edit my page an alert pops up ... an error has occured in the scripe on this page . What does this mean and what is it doing to the program or preventing me from doing ?
I have a lot of options grayed out and not able to use when editing or making new pages? << highlight color, change text color, change size, change fonts. >> resizing images, page properties 5 out of 7 options grayed, etc. ... I checked under Administrators and all there looks okay and I am the only one using the program. I have gone to the Administrator Settings, then styles/fonts/size and all check for my use.
OOnly on two of my main pages are all of the options available to use on either a New or Edit page but none are available on the other tabbed pages of my website. Even if I cut and paste a document the color, size and font changes to what is on the page.

Don't make a text selection, but simply put your text cursor in the text with the new formats. Most likely, you have a mix of character formats selected.

Paste as Background option grayed out

I'm using Captivate1. When I edit a slide, I select Copy
Background, edit it in Paint, copy it from Paint and try to Paste
as Background into Captivate. The Paste as Background option is

I started tracking what I was doing before the graying out
occurred. It seems like if I copy and tweak (in Paint) more than 8
or so backgrounds in a row, then the Paste as Background option
grays out. It's like the system is tired of me copy and pasting
back into Captivate. When I shut everything down and reopen it,
then the paste memory clears and the option is available. Now by
all means, this is not a technical explanation for what happens,
but it's just what I'm observing.
And yes, I'm patiently waiting for the powers that be to
approve my upgrade to Cap2.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Good morning Old Toad.
I did as you suggested:
1) Booted from install CD.
2) Ran Disk Utilities on internal hard drive--no repairs necessary. For good measure, did the same thing on external drive. Also no repairs necessary.
3) Checked software update--no updates found. About this Mac said I was already running 10.4.7. For good measure, I downloaded the latest and installed it. Since it let me run the install, I'm not sure if I installed something new or reinstalled what I already had.
4) I rebooted from CD, ran disk utilities, ran repair disk--no repairs necessary. Repaired permissions and a lot of permissions repaired.
5) Tried to delete the files and the same old thing happened: kernel panic. The specific message:
panic(cpu 0 caller 0x00102A08): jnl: transaction too big (1587712 >= 1572352 bytes, bufsize 8192, tr 0x29f1fb0 bp 0x2801de40)
So there's no change in my status.
I'm trying to delete the files because:
A) They already take .5 Gb.
B) I can't get rid of them ever. If I move the problem files to a different folder, I can only do one successful drag-and-drop backup to the external drive until the "new" thumb segments become unerasable just like the previous versions and crash the system.
C) I can't even "just" drag and drop every file/folder except the thumbs, because that ends up crashing the system as well. So I have to drag and drop every file/folder in the iPhoto hierarchy individually. Which makes me less inclined to backup, which defeats the purpose of a backup.
D) After the iPhoto fiasco I'm just crabby about all the Apple screw-ups I'm experiencing and I want to get them fixed.

I finally managed to set up a few controller assignments thanks to help on this forum and now I want to set up some more but the edit button is grayed out. Any ideas on why this could be? Thanks!

Best guess is the Edit command requires Dynamic Link, which is only available when you buy the whole suite.

Why is the email option grayed out from iphoto sharing

I am running iPhoto 9.5.1 on Mavericks. When I select a photo and try to share it the share menu has email and all the social meida options grayed out. Checking accounts in iPhoto my email accounts are there. I tried deleting and reinserting the one I want to use and restarting iPhoto, but it is still grayed out.

You need to update yoru profile - it says OS X 10.6.8
In the iPhoto preferences select an email client (I personally prefer Mail) and if you are using iphoto enter your email information in teh accounts tab (If you use Mail it will use yuro existing sset up)
Same for social media - enter your account information in the accounts tab

Safari on iPads has no facility to upload files to web sites. You need to use an app made specific for that site or use a computer.

Sub Problem:
When using the advanced edit cursor, right click Is used to select a hyperlink-properties the first time the dialog box pops up it does not have “focus” (not sure that is the right term, but the box is grayed out and will not respond to the keyboard.). It must be mouse clicked to get focus. The second time a link is right clicked to properties the popup responds to the key board and will move to the action tab with ctrl-tab
It’s not clear to me where the acrobat program is at that point.
Is that a known action or problem with acrobat pro 9.4.4?
Is there a key or keys from the keyboard that can force focus to the box?
The problem is each file I open I have to manually find a link and right click it to get the box then click in the box to get “focus”. After the first one the box pops up with focus.

I have been working on converting a set of pdf files with 1000’s of hyperlinks like www.site.com\folder1\file1.pdf#page=10
To jump to a local copy of the files with a relative type link
../folder1/file1.pdf and then go to the proper page.
I have found that it can be done manually by changing the hyperlink to a javascript
var otherDoc = app.openDoc('../folder1/file1.pdf', this);otherDoc.pageNum = 10 - 1;
and setting each destination file with a disclose()=true;

I have resorted to the following plan using acrobat javascript, an external keyboard macro recorder and excel in combination to get around the problem
Four folder level acrobat javascripts with “buttons”
One to get all the link quads in an array, in the pdf and report the total number
The second creates a form field in the far corner of the first page and moves there.
The third jumps to each link found by creating a form field just to the left of the link and zooms in so it can be selected by a “mouse click” from the keyboard macro recorder
The forth deletes the form field
The keyboard macro recorder runs javascript 2 and then 3 then clicks on the link just to the right of the middle of the screen and uses keys to get to the advanced editing to get to edit the hyperlink .
The hyperlink is then copied to excel where it is converted using string functions to the needed javascript text to be copied back.
To the acrobat file into a java script (after deleting the hyperlink)
Rinse/lather/repeat
I have been able to convert about 150 links an hour.
Better then hand typing, but not like having java access to the links.

I didn't intend to say you must close the X box after each
apply. It's OK to apply one change and go to another item before
closing the dialogue. It's the OK button that messes up sometimes.
Even when you hit the Apply button for a very large selection
of topics, the OK button sometimes will undo the apply, not
necessarily for all selected topics. Even when you've made just one
batch change.
I think it's because OK tries to re-set all settings (that's
why it takes forever), but does not correctly pick up the mass
changes previously applied. Or maybe it takes forever because it
can't find the new info and defaults to the existing settings.
A pain in the butt when you're trying to apply a stylesheet
to a very large number of topics. Please don't ask me to define "a
large number."
Maybe it's a space limit in RH, similar to the space limit
for the number of characters in a batch of file names you want to
import. Or maybe the OK button doesn't look in the right places.

Sip dialer port export option grayed out in configuration manager ucce 10

I am configuring the outbound option for ucce 10, when i configure the sip dialer port (dialer conifguration) in conifiguration manager, i just added 5 ports, i can see this ports showing in dialer process on the PG, but i need to export this ports to Unified communication manager, i could not able to export it because this option grayed out (i did select all, or individual selection both are having export option grayed out)
Any idea?

Exporting port configuration is only allowed for SCCP, in SIP Dialer Deployment its actually not needed and that why its grayed out.

in Sip Dialer you don't need to create any Port For Dialer under CUCM. its only required in SCCP.
Sip Dialer port Directly registers with VG.
