Edit PDF docs on an ipad2

I purchased the "convert PDFs to word/excel docs" for $23.99/year.  I want to edit a PDF doc on my ipad2.  So, I hit the "export from PDF" prompt and it sends me back to the "do you want to buy the convert PDF docs to word/excel".  It is not recognizing that I purchased this option, though when I indicate "yes, I want to buy it", it comes back and says I have already purchased it!  Can you help me?

I am sorry that you are seeing this. When you see the "do you want to buy", do you also see a "sign in" link? If so, you may not be logged. If you are logged in, can you please also go to the "My Account" section of the left-hand pane and verify that the user id there is the same user id that you used to purchase the subscription? If you are already logged in with the same user id you used to purchase the subscription, please share the user id with us at [email protected] so that we can look into this. Thank you!

"Editing" a PDF is never a good activity. PDF lends itself to minor touchups but does not support word processor like "edits".
(See the ISO Standard for PDF, ISO 32000-1.)
If you have Acrobat XI installed you can peform minor touchups by using the "Edit Text & Image" tool.

How do I edit a pdf document?

That question is a little to vague but basically, you can't do any "editing" using Adobe Reader (short of the filling of forms and adding comments).
To send you the right direction, maybe you can shed a little light upon what you mean by "edit"?

to edit an existing pdf document, which adobe product do I need to complete this task?

    Hi Ethel,
Your best bet would be to install our 30 day free trial version of Acrobat XI Pro. That would allow you to try all the features.
Let me know if this was helpful!
    Looking forward to your response.

  • Converting and editing PDF docs

When I convert from a PDF, I cannot edit the document. How can this be done?

    Hi mikenat007,
If you want to edit an image then you need to purchase Photoshop.

  • Acrobat 9.5 - use Touchup text Tool to edit PDF. Updates do not display. But, if I "save as" Word doc, the edits appear in Word. This feature worked in earlier versions of 9.x patches.

I have a suspicion you're working with a scanned document that has had OCR run to recognize the text. The recognized text may be stored on an invisible layer above the image of the text, and that is what you're toucing up. It's invisible, so you don't see it, but retains the changes, so exporting produces the new edits.
When you run OCR to recognize scanned text,, try using the ClearScan option, instead of Searchable Text. See this help page on Acrobat (this is for version X, but still applies):
Adobe Acrobat X Pro * Recognize Text - General Settings dialog box

  • How to convert a PDF to an editable Word Doc

I have Acrobat 9 Pro and I'm trying convert a scanned PDF document to an editable Word doc.  I've ran OCR on the document but I'm still losing some text and formatting.  What can I do to improve the integrity of the conversion?

The OCR is very dependent on the quality of the scan. You might try testing with various scanning options on a sample page. Typically 300 dpi is the minimum for OCR, but some folks like 600 dpi. If the page is clean, with no dust or other imperfections and the text is crisp, you should be able to do reasonably well. It is probably best to run the corrections steps after the OCR (looking at suspects) and editing appropriately.
The conversion to WORD should not be expected to be real clean in terms of retaining format. You need to look to using style sheets in WORD to simplify the format fixes. Then run the spell check and grammer checker (you might end up with a better document than you started with). There is not a lot more you can do with Acrobat.
You do have the options of ClearScan and Searchable Text. In one version of Acrobat, ClearScan used some strange fonts (not system fonts) that did not convert well to WORD. I was able to get a better result with Searchable Text in that case. I have not played with OCR that much, and so am just giving some comments of things I have run into.

  • How do i Edit a PDF DOC.

i am attempting to edit a pdf doc. when i select Edit PDF, i am directed to the products page for subscriptions

    Hi Ross ,
Is it the first time you are using Acrobat ?
Is it a trial version that you are using?
It could be possible that your trial span has been expired and you are being directed to the subscription page.
You would have to subscribe for Acrobat to edit the documents.

  • How to edit word doc converted from PDF

I converted a PDF to a Word docx, and need to edit the doc. How do I do this?

As you would any other document. The problem is likely that you had scanned to PDF and never ran OCR. Thus the DOC file is a collection of pictures and no text. You either have to edit the graphic to fix the text or go back to the PDF and do OCR first. Use Searchable PDF to enable useful fonts for the DOC file.

  • Can not edit Word docs after converting from a ExportPDF file. The PDF file is converted into a non-editable Word Doc image.

Converting a PDF file (scanned copy Adobe Reader X) to a Word Doc using ExportPDF conversion. The Word Doc created is a image file which is not editable. I need an editable Word Doc file.

    Hi robertw,
Can you please tell me more about how the PDF was created? (If you don't know, choose File > Properties, and look for the PDF Producer on the Description tab.)
If the PDF was created by a third-party PDF creator, it may be that it's not well-written, and that can affect the quality of the conversion. See Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community.
That said, you may be able to select the text by triple-clicking in the Word document.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Editing typing on online pdf doc

which adobe product will allow editing a pdf doc online

    Hi Jon,
You can use Adobe Reader to fill in a PDF form (that's been properly enabled with form fields) or with the typewriter tool.
To actually edit a PDF file, you'll need Adobe Acrobat: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html
There is no service that allows you to 'edit a pdf doc online'.
    Thanks,
    David

  • When attempting to edit a PDF doc, I get "Adobe has encountered an unknown error" Why?

When attempting to edit a PDF doc, I get "Adobe has encountered an unknown error" Why?

    Hi myarwema,
Are you using Acrobat on Mac OS or Windows (and what version?). You say you have version 11.0.0, but the current version is 11.0.10, so please choose Help > Check for Updates and install any available updates for starters.
Does the error occur regardless of the PDF that you try to edit? If the problem is widespread, I would recommend a repair/reinstall of Acrobat (if installing the updates doesn't help). If the problem occurs with just the one document, that PDF could be damaged.

You say it won't let you edit it. What do you mean
    * You don't know how
    * The can't find the tools you expect to find for editing
    * You know how to edit, but you can't select text to edit at all
    * The tools are there but greyed out
    * You get an error message (what?)
    * Something else?
