Editable column in table
Hello, i want to update several objetcs at the same time. I ve a adf table with one editable column. I want that when i press save, the modified data on the column get commited. I am using EJB, Pojos and toplink.
Can i use the mergeObject() function or do i have to make a custom method on the EJB to update the objetcs? how can i go through all the rows on the table?

I realized that when we use mergeEntity() we bind something like AnIteratorIter.currentRow.dataprovider to it
If i change programatically the current row in the table and then call mergeEntity() could it work?
My problem is that i am not very sure how to change the current row programatically so the binding on mergeEntity() works.

I have a requirement for reordering rows in a table using drag and drop. This table is loaded using a list and I am able to programmatically do the reordering of the rows based on the events of drag and drop by manipulating the list. Reordering of rows is working fine if all the columns are read only. For all the input text and input date columns the values are not getting reordered. Anyone has any idea on what the issue may be with reordering of the rows for editable columns/rows (af:inputText and af:inputDate) in af:table. Below is what Iam doing on drop event which is a collection drop target.

Editable columns in table don't select the whole row
I am new to the forums and posted this to the wrong one the first time and I am not sure how to move it so I am just reposting it here. Sorry.
I have a table with 7 columns. 2 of them are non-editable and the rest are either radio buttons or check boxes. When I click on the 2 non-editable columns, the whole row gets highlighted. When I click on any of the editable columns, the button is selected, but the whole row is not highlighted. If I made the editable columns non-editable then the whole row gets highlighted when the column is clicked on. I want the button selected and the row highlighted when the editable columns are clicked on. Here is some relevant code:

Editable columns in table control?

I am using table control. When I click one button(Add Structure ) i am creating table rows with data, example it creates 3 rows everytime on click on this button. But coming to colmns, for first row i want first 2 columns are in edit mode, in 2nd row 3, 4th colms are in edit and in 3rd row last 2 cols are in edit mode.
For this i searched in this form i got some solution, i applied that but i am getting first row all columns in edit mode.
I tried like this ... I created 3 attributes INV1, INV2,INV3 of type wdy_boolean in node. binded with enable property first 2 cols to INV1 like that. and on ADD_STRUCT button action code like this.

Make Non-editable Column in Table Control of ME21N and ME22N
Hi Experts,
I was trying to look for a solution to make the columns for field MEPO1320-SLFDT(Stat Deliv. Date), MEPO1320-EEIND (Deliv. Date) and MEPO1211-NETPR (Net Price) from transaction ME21N and ME22N to be non-editable ONLY when Qty Received (MEPO1320-WEMNG) > 0.
I'd found that the modify screen codes were located at Class CL_TABLE_VIEW_MM, Method MODIFY_SCREEN_TC_LINE but there were no enhancement spots available to add my code. Is there any other method i can use to make those fields non-editable?

I think you can use this BAdi: ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST - Enhance Processing of Enjoy Purchase Order.
Use the method PROCESS_ITEM to control the fields at the item level.
I think is not possible to make the fields non-editable, however, you can put an error message whenever your condition is verified, and the user won't be able to change the fields.

Saving editable column contents in Std. Table using ALV

I developed a ALV report which displays list of sales orders of particular customer, in this report created by name is editable column. Now i want to save the created by name after user changes the contents of this column and click on save button. Tabular Form: Conditional column based on another column in table/form?
Hi!
I have 4 columns in table A:
number (the question number)
question (the question to be asked)
type (TEXT, LOV are the 2 valid values)
answer (the answer with text or a selection from the lov table below)
I have 2 columns in table B:
number (the question number)
values (a single value for the lov's)
In table B there can be mutiple rows for each number. Table A and table B
join on the number.
I want to build a tablular form on table A where for each row either a text
box or a select list is displayed depending on the contents of the type column.
So row 1 would display a text box when the type value is text; row 2 would
display a select list when the type value is lov.
Is this even possible? How do I refer to the type column in the conditional for the
answer column? I am guessing that I will need to have 2 answer columns one
that displays when the type column is TEXT and one that displays when the
type column contains LOV. This is OK. Setting up the conditional is display is the issue at this point.

I'll take your first question first (3:28PM posting according to my display - not sure if you are on GMT time?):
As far as I understand it, using the select_list_from_query() function generates the options that are required in the select list as HTML tags. Each instance of this function should create a SELECT tag and the results of the query should generate one or more OPTION tags within it.
Second question (4:20PM posting):
The HTMLDB_ITEM functions are listed in the documentation - here's a link to the online version:

Most of the examples that I have seen have been on this forum - simply search for HTMLDB_ITEM or one of its functions.
I tend to leave the generation of tabular forms to the wizard as much as possible. The only exceptions are when I need to have access to more than the Primary Key for a row but don't want to show the field on screen. There are examples on the forum about concatenating the HTMLDB_ITEM functions into a single value - this hides ID fields from the user but makes them available to PL/SQL code.
Third question (5:29PM posting)
I did try using DECODE in my questionnaire but not for the feature that you needed. Originally, I wanted to use this to display one of a number of different fields (ie, my date, number or string field as appropriate to the question) but this didn't help as I couldn't get back to the right field during the update. If you have decode working for the select lists, then that's great!
The first column should be hidden or sitting behind a checkbox as this should be the Primary Key for the row and should not be editable by the user nor would it normally be displayed.
As long as your select statement creates the correct output (albeit that you may need to work on the layout!), you should have an updatable form. However, you will need to have the MRU processes in place and the appropriate buttons that trigger these. When I did my questionnaire, I created the form using a wizard to get all of the processes and buttons and then changed the select statement. If you haven't got the processes and/or buttons, we can go through adding these onto your page.
Last question (9:08PM posting)
As explained above, column 1 should normally be hidden. The INPUT tag you detail above is what I would expect to see. The value="6" attribute indicates that 6 is the Primary Key for that row - every row will have the same tag but different values for the "value" attribute. So, if it is hidden and these are the tags you see doing a View Source on the page, then everything is correct.
OK. So now we have the data on screen and (hopefully?) we have the correct processes and buttons on the page.
The next step would be validation and update of the data.
Validation of the data can be handled by a normal page process - I can let you have example code if you want to validate the data (this will also explain how to loop through the rows - there are also methods that you can use to do this in javascript if you want). Updates should be handled by the processes and buttons on the page - again, if you haven't got these we can go through adding them in (although, if you haven't yet formatted your page, you may find it quicker to copy your select statement and create the page again using the same select statement).
ORA-20001 errors are user defined errors. Do you mean the "data has changed" errors? If so, you will probably need to include the MD5 checksum functionality (it's shown in the document linked above).
Finally, we'll keep this thread going so that you have all of your workings and my responses in one place, if that's ok with you?

Single row editing for multiple tables in a single page
Hi!
I have split a table with many many columns into more tables with a lower number of columns. There is an ID column (sequence generated) that is Primary Key common for all tables. Obviously, the relationship between these tables is 1 to 1, so its not about having to build master-detail pages.
What I need now is to edit all these tables in a single page: one single row from each table. The Automated Row Fetch & Automatic Row Processing (DML) processes used for the old table must be replaced by something else.
Is there a way to use in a single page more pairs of such processes for more tables?
I want to avoid manually writing processes with lot of PL/SQL code to handle row fetch & update.
Keep in mind that the page will have an ID item that can be used to identify unique rows in all my tables.

IMHO that is a very bad idea. There is nothing wrong with having many columns in a table. If you would like to split them to better "categorize" them, just create views on the table and expose different subsets of the columns.

That is unavoidable given how you have designed the underlying tables.
You could try creating a view that joins all the tables by the PK and creating a form based on that view. Then write a INSTEAD OF trigger on the view that "doles out" the DML on the view to each of the underlying tables. -

Parse SQL: How to extract column names, table names from a SQL query
Hi all,
I have a requirement wherein a SQL query will be given in a text file.
The text file has to be read (probably using text_io package), the SQL query needs to be parsed and the column names, table names and where clauses have to be extracted and inserted into separate tables.
Is there a way to do it using PL/SQL ?
Is there a PL/SQL script available to parse and extract column names, table names etc ?

Now this is the tricky bit. You can extract the list of tables by getting the sql_id from v$sql and joining it with v$sql_plan. But sometimes you may not get all the results because the optimizer may choose to refine your query (check this link)

You can, however, 'move' or 'clone' most objects by exporting and importing. As follows:
I create a table under SYS (shudder).
I then export it
- using userid SYS in this case,
- under normal circumstances I'd either use a DBA account or the owner's userid
- since I want a table, I use the TABLES option - a list is comma separated and in quotes
I then import it using a 'userid' switch - fromuser & touser options
- in this case from SYS to HR
Finally, I verify it was transported.

Search with "Sortable" keyword in kuiCriteriaDefaultViewElementsMask element but I'm not sure sortable="False" then restart it
Note: it will afftect entire answres report.
