Editing a document with a group

I edit reports & documents in a group how do you use pages where it will line through a txt & dispplay your suggested change in a different color or type?

Set up a Character Style in the Styles Drawer and give it a keyboard shortcut.

Office Web App Server 2013: cannot edit word document with own WOPI Server

Hi all,
I tried to build our own WOPI Server to connect to Office Web App Server 2013 SP1. Viewing documents
in IE was possible quite easy to achieve. Now it comes to editing.
When I try to edit a document, I got a german message “Sie verfügen leider nicht über die Berechtigung zum Bearbeiten dieses Dokuments“.
This means something like „Sorry, you do not have any permission to modify this document”.
I enabled editing on the OWAS-Server while setup procedure
(Until now, I only have an InternalUrl but no ExternalUrl.)

ULS log shows

I’m not sure whether or not I implemented "locks,cobalt,update" correct, but I do not see any ‘edit-’network traffic from OWAS-Server to WOPI-Server. So I cannot debug anything. I will (re)check the articles you mentioned.

Editing scanned document with Adobe Pro

Is it possible to edit scanned documents that are saved as pdf files? I know the search or find command do not work on scanned documents. Our office is going paperless but there are times that we need to go back to the original document and make changes instead of reproducing the original, making the changes and then creating a new document

you'd need a good OCR (Optical Character Recognition) application to convert the images to text first.
After that, you'd probably want to export the text to something like a Word document for editing.
Most of the time it's easier just to recreate the document.

I can't seem to figure out how I can - find,edit,sync my documents that I have created on an iOS device or macbook, without going onto icloud.com/iwork?
Even if I download from the web onto my MBP edit content then how do I re-upload to icloud.
I have the documents and data checked in icloud preferences all apps and programs are up to date.
What I would like to do is like dropbox have a folder on my MBP that syncs with icloud which is connected to my iOS.
I have a dropbox account and can download a document to my iPad via pages review and edit but then cannot re-upload the newly edited version. This is frustrating and would be happy to use more icloud intergration but can't figure out how to get an iCloud folder in finder to sync with devices.

Currently any documents created or edited on your Mac, need to be uploaded AND downloaded via iCloud.com before you can share them with your iOS devices.
This is a user to user community, Apple are unlikely to read your comments, if you have any suggestions that you think might enhance iCloud you can send Apple your feedback here.

I want to print edited Pages documents with Comments written in margins, not yellow boxes

Can anyone tell me a way to use Track Changes to edit a Pages document so my comments are printed in margins, not hidden in yellow boxes. I was able to do this on Word documents, but my students are now using Pages. Neither they nor I can see all comments unless we click to open them one at a time in Pages. We would like to see comments in the printed document as well as a line crossing out words I suggest as deletions.

You are using the wrong application.
Use Pages '09. Or continue using Word.

Editing pdf document with prints with DPI

Because I can't afford Adobe Acrobat to edit pdf(s) I use Page and Word. I use photoshop to create digital art work and save them at 300 DPI. For the first book I created with an online publisher the art work looked good. However, I re-did the book and added more art work but the publisher kept telling my dpi was less than 200 and it would come out blurry. They were right. I received the proof and the proof was blurry and pixel lated. To try to correct this I tried a larger dpi but this didn't do anything. Has anyone had a similar problem with prints and dpi becoming less when the original was 300 dpi yet changes when trying to get published to less of 200. I know this complicated and maybe hard to follow. I don't know how to explain it better.

You're confusing "enabled" with "allowed".
If I were to guess I'd say you are looking at the security in File>Properties and seeing the word "allowed".
That just means if the creator of the file had added form fields, you would be "allowed" to fill them out.

Accounting Document Post with Ledger Group

Hi,
I am trying you post accounting document using 'BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST', But my requirement is to post the acc documents with 'Ledger Group', I couldn't find any parameter in the above mentioned BAPI. If anyone come accross same requirement please share your knowledge and suggest me how to proceed with this.
Before posting this thread I searched for the threads with same category, but i couldn't find sufficient information.

I am doing migration as It's a one time activity, If I implement BADI it will be triggered whenever accounting document posting happens, Is there any other way to pass Ledger group like other BAPI / FM etc ?

When you installed Pages v5, it automatically moved the older Pages ’09 v4.3 into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. If you want normal comment interoperability, you are advised to resume using the older version of Pages. Newer, is certainly not better with Pages v5.

Go back to the editor and close the photo there.

In Adobe Acrobat (7.09) I see how to accept changes in a PDF document individually, but is is possible to accept all editions and changes with one click, as it is in Word for example. For tips thanks in advance.

New Document with Layer Comp & Groups Link ?

I'd like to create a script that creates a new photoshop document that automatically creates a set of layer comps with specific names that are linked with groups with identical names or the same name. I don't know whether to create this in Adobe Configurator but since I want to create a 'new' document that does this automatically I don't know if Adobe Configurator is the best route to go ?
An added bonus it would be benifical to select the layer comp, and save only the selected layer comp or an option to save the entire composition or a layer comp.

What good are Layer Comps that show Groups if one is to add Layers only
later on or should Layers in the Groups be created right away?
In Photoshop when you create a new document File -> New it would create the following layer comps and layer groups.
The layer comps would be linked to the layer groups with the same name or identical name if allowed, for example if the Layer Group name is not Layer Comp A, rather CompyDesignA the script would know to still link it to Layer Comp A.
I don't know how many layers I would add to the layer group so the script wouldn't create these layers, the script would then export the layer comp with the selected layer group.
For example, I select Layer Comp A which is tied to the Layer Group, Layer Group A / or similiar name if I select the layer comp Layer Comp A it would know to save only the Layer Group 'Layer Group A / or similar name' automatically, with the option to save the entire composition with all layer comps and all layer groups, understand ?
I suppose that upon creating the new composition/document each layer group would have a layer created called 'background' and the first layer created above that background layer would have a screen blend mode applied, automate the task.

Change Linked to Document with Edit Menu Column in Forms Library

I am using a Forms Library, which I have associated with a Infopath Form, and there is that column "Name" which is linked Edit Menu... I do not want to use this column "Name" which is basically a FileName, so if I hide this "Name" column, how can I use an other column like ID (for eg) to link to document with edit menu...

Steve - Open the page in SP designer and in design mode hover over an item in the column a little '>' should show, click it and you can choose the options, however in SP2013 the design mode is gone so here is how it looks in the code of the page for adding
a menu to the 'ActiveSite' column, note you need to do this in every location the column is used, which may make this not workable?

Post parked document with display doc option instead of edit doc option

Hi SAP Guru's
Do you know if there is any tcode exist to post parked document in which user can display the document first and review it before posting it. There is a tcode FBV0 to post park document but this transaction takes you to the edit parked document(FV50) when user tries to review it. Which is the violation of SOX.
Per SOX if user has post access should not allowed to park and vise versa.
Is there any user exit for FBV0 where we can replace FV50(Edit parked doc) with FBV3(Display parked doc)? Or any other suggestion.

Stuck with FIPP Workflow. You need to do Business Object Binding from Workflow to Task. This can be done by checking the Binding of TS20000166 in Workflow Template WS20000075. Once you do that you will get a link. If you click on the link you will get the TCODE in display Mode. I was expecting some mails from you regarding queries:)))). You can move the iTunes folder to a separate drive on your pc an then configure each account to use this drive / folder as iTunes library ... The problem is, that iTunes by default stores everything in your personal music folder which is separate for each user account in windows (and by default is on "C" drive).
I create a separate partition on every pc/laptop (and map a drive name) where I store music, videos and other mass data. This will also keep the "C" drive small, which is backed up from time to time and so my backup is also small.
