EIS load kickouts handling to an "unassigned" parent bucket

Hello, a question for the Essbase EIS/AIS pros out there. Is it possible and if so, where in the EIS GUI could I specify where to drop a given dimension member record kickout during EIS the member load? For example, if I created an "Unassigned" parent member in a couple of major DIMS (accounts and locations, for example) each and wants any kickout goes there instead of the usual text file, how'd would I do that? Thanks.

Currently you would have to use another product to do this, namely your relational database. This is a documented feature for EIS, however it doesn't work correctly. I opened a trouble ticket, after months of going back and forth proving it was in fact a defect, they admitted it was a defect. However, since I am on version 7x and there are no patch releases set for version 7, I would have to pay to move to System 9 to get this feature. Actually, as far as I know it's not working properly in System 9 either, but at least if I was on System 9 they would have to commit to a patch. I work around this in my relational database. It's a pain, but it works.<BR><BR>To answer your question specifically, if the feature worked properly you would set it by going into your meta-outline, right clicking on the dimension in question, go to the 'Outline build' tab and enable the default misc member.

  • Is this a good way for loading and handling an xml file?

    I'm new to xml files, but it seems to me that a good way to handle them may be this:
    - create an xmltype table with a unique xmltype column
    - load the xml file in the xmltype column of the table
    - writing a procedure for scanning the whole column of the table by using the extractvalue built-in function for inserting the different nodes of the xml file (just loaded) in the final tables (to link correctly the father and son tags with foreign keys)
    Does it seem to you a good way to load the nodes of a xml file in a relation database?
    Thanks!

    Is this the 10gR2 Express Edition you mentioned over in How to load a XML file into a table or a different version?

  • Loading an external swf into my parent swf?

    Does anyone know how I can load an external .swf file into my
    parent file? I have tried to use loader actionscript but think I am
    using the incorrect script or putting it in the wrong place? If
    anyone can tell me the script and where to/how to use it that would
    be amazing? Thanks

    thanks GWD!
    I am using the unloadMovieNum(); command, i have loaded the
    child into level 5 of my parent swf. the parent has multiple scenes
    this one with a layer with a stop(); action and another layer with
    the loadMovieNum("portfolioone.swf", 5); script. it loads the child
    perfectly. The child has a number of pictures in it and a back
    button at the end. I have been adding the
    on (release) {
    unloadMovieNum(5);
    script to the button which unloads the child but stops
    because of the stop action in the first frame of the particular
    scene within the parent. I want to be able to add a script to this
    button which will take me back to a labeled frame in a particular

    doesn't seem to be working for me, Thanks for the reply, hope you

    Are you running a user-defined query or using the EIS-generated default SQL query? I found for various reasons that I had to resort to user-defined SQL against SQL Server in order to get my initial test model to load data properly.

  • Dispatch loaded clip's keyboard event with parent's mouse click

    Hi. I'm building a swf wrapper which loads third-party swf games. The client would like a button in the wrapper which will dispatch a keyboard event in the loaded swf.

    Many thanks!

  • Loading to Parent level Period using multiload template

    Hi Experts,
    Is it possible to load data to Parent level period using the FDM multiload template to HFM? Does multiload template allow loading of only the leaf level period?
    Thanks
    Kannan.

    FDM does not impose any rstrictions on what you can load into HFM it just respects the load constraints of the target system i.e. if you can't do something directly in HFM you won't be able to do it via FDM. In HFM data can only be loaded to base level members not parents, parents are calculated and are not stored i the HFM database. Therefore you will not be able to load to parent level members in HFM. You can sometimes have excptoions to this but only if the HFM developer has written specific rules to allow this.

  • Parent  changes between save and load of a PDF file

    I am using LiveCycle 8.2 and Acrobat 9.2 - and Reader 9.2
    I have an automated process that uses a plug-in to fill out and save a PDF form using XML data.
    This works well - saves time , etc.
    I have a problem where a certain data element seems to have a different heirarchical relationship in the Reader  than in Acrobat..
    I have added some xfa.host.MessageBox() statements to print out data as the form is being saved  and then when it is loaded into the Reader - these  values are not the same -
    but i have checked and when I laod it using Acroabt everyhting is the same as when the data was saved - but there a different relationship apparently exists when I load the form using the reader.
    Has anyone seen this before ?
    Is there anything that I can do about it ?
    Any help is appreciated - thanks

    a snippet of the code involved is listed here :
    Provider.page2.Practice.Associatec.AssociateType.AssociateTypeDescription::initialize - (JavaScript, client)
     var CovgYN;
    var msg; var lineofdata;
    var assttype = this.rawValue;msg
    = "Check1 : " + assttype + " = " + this.parent.parent.AssociateLastName.rawValue;xfa.host.messageBox(msg);
    lineofdata= this.parent.parent.AssociateFirstName.rawValue + " " + this.parent.parent.AssociateLastName.rawValue + " " + assttype + " -" + CovgYN;
    The data contained in the msg and lineofdata variables - is different in Acrobat 9.2 and The Reader ... It is correct in Acrobat when I load the form and Import the XML data file.
    When the correct data Form is saved and loaded using the reader the values "parent" is different so - the values are not the same -=
    This is a serious problem !.
    Is this a known bug or issue  ?

  • Loaded child movie controlling container parent

    hi,
    i'm a designer trying to step up my flash skills and have a scripting problem that's causing me trouble.
    essentially i have a child swf loaded into a container in a parent swf and want the child to be able to instruct the parent.
    to explain in full, the child contains an flv with bespoke video player components. it's container sits in one frame of the parent.
    when the flv finishes playing, i need the parent swf to move onto another frame.
    as it's a controllable flv, it isnt possible to predict the exact length of time the child will need to be present, so it literally needs to tell the parent it's finished playing at that very point.
    it's actionscript 2 for flash 8.
    unfortunately my scripting isnt up to this, and i cant seem to find any info to help me out.
    any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks in advance!

    thanks, that's one half of the battle!
    the remaining problem is i have a controllable flv in the child swf, therefore i can't guarantee the length of time the flv will run as it may be paused etc.
    is there some script i can tag on first that recognizes when the flv has ended?
    realistically this is a topic in itself, but if you can help it would be appreciated.
    thanks.

  • External loaded mc covers parent

    I am loading a swf file into a parent file, in the parent
    file i have enclosed two buttons that are not visible when the
    external the swf loads into it. The swf that loads covers the whole
    parent stage and i cannot see the buttons at all no matter where i
    place the layer or whether I place them on each layer for the
    corresponding movie clips that should load. I have made the parent
    stage higher by 200 pixels but when the external swf loads the
    parent swf resizes to the dimensions of the external or child mc.
    the problem i am thinking is that my code is not targeting the mc
    instance i have placed on the parent stage. Here is the code i am
    using to load the swf into the parent, the swf is loading
    externally.

    as far i understand your buttons just is behaind the your new
    loaded movieclip? You can use this one
    mx.behaviors.DepthControl.bringToFront(MovieClip) this action is
    help you to bring some MovieClip on the top of all.This is little
    bit off-topic but when you load movieclip try to load with
    MovieClipLoader class because you have the full control of the
    loaded external movieclip i mean width,height,x,y pos. with
    loadMovie you cant get it.

  • XIR3 Clustered load balancing - how is it handled?

    Can anyone help me with this, or point to some useful documentation on the following? The scenario is this. I plan to deploy the following 2 servers:
    1. Server 1, with it's CMS and system database
    2. Server 2, clustered with Server 1 (different machine), using the same system database and FRS (on a NAS).
    Questions
    1. How is the load balancing handled. Is there an SIA for each server, or one SIA handling each server and respective CMS? By what process/servers is the load balancing handled?

    That's strange. The client side of DeskI doesn't store what connections are being used or how many, so how could it evaluate which server to use before connecting? Surely if I am asking it to connect to Server B and it finds Server B then it would use Server B? If it couldn't find Server B then I can understand how it would redirect to Server A.
    In my case the CMS for Server B is up and running, my registry settings are configure to search for A and B, so in the case of Server B being unused and the CMS up and running the DeskI client that is looking for Server B sould find Server B and not Server A, right?
    Is there any documentation on this?

  • Best pattern to signal a parent control from a deeply nested child control

    #1
    The application i created hosts intially a logincontrol.
    The login control signals the application with
    OnAuthenticationPassed to move states.
    This state change removes the login control and loads the
    administration control.
    this one level nesting is okay to be handled by having the
    parent listen to an event the child makes... but when multiple
    levels of nesting occurs... chaining events just to propagate the
    message up .. is not a flexible solution... example:
    The administration control hosts a lot of specific task
    controls.
    [ArticleManagement - (contains categorymanagement, new
    article, edit article -- further nesting controls)]
    eventually the session will die out on the server... so when
    a task (example: submit new article) the server response will be:
    <response>
    <isAuthenticated value="false" />
    </response>
    I will then have to propagate this message up to the
    application parent level so that administration control panel is
    removed and replaced with the login control.
    what is the best way to handle this?
    #2
    what are common transition patterns when removing one panel
    and putting another in its place? [i'm an application developer not
    an animator.]

    thanks for the bubbling information. for a minute I thought i
    had to create a singleton to centralize registering events. I'm
    glad the framework manages this inside UIComponent .. less things i
    have to worry about.
    about animiation: thanks first of all.. looking nice now.
    my current implementation works but you can see where the
    viewstack starts and ends by when the control and leaves, enters
    the scene through the animation.
    If i change the viewstack width and height to 100% i loose
    the ability to center the inner contents...
    i want the viewstack width and height to 100% and still be
    able to center vertically and horizontally the inner contents. do
    you know how to do this?

  • TextBox1.Handle in WPF

    where should i put the code:
    IntPtr handle = new System.Windows.Interop.WindowInteropHelper(this).Handle;
    and:
    when i try to paste it in the constructor it tells me:
    The best overloaded method match for 'System.Windows.Interop.WindowInteropHelper.WindowInteropHelper(System.Windows.Window)' has some invalid arguments
    maybe i need to write it differently or add something?

    If you put it in a constructor of a UserControl, you must get a reference to the window and pass this one to the constructor of the WindowInteropHelper class. You can get a reference to the parent window of a UserControl once the UserControl has been loaded
    by handling the Loaded event for the UserControl like this:
    public partial class UserControl1 : UserControl
    public UserControl1() {
    InitializeComponent();
    IntPtr handle;
    this.Loaded += (s, e) =>
    Window window = Window.GetWindow(this);
    handle = new System.Windows.Interop.WindowInteropHelper(window).Handle;

  • Can I have more then 1 loader or how can I track load of instances?

    Hello, does anybody know if I can have more than one loader?
    Ive made a thumbnailviewer with children, but when I track
    the progressevent, the loader sum it all up to 1 load.
    I want a loader for each picture, how could this be done?
    So can I have more then one loader progressevent?
    any help much appreciated.!
    ps. the "i" in last simpleloader function is there for test,
    and not because I know what to do!

    Oops!
    I did not look at the code close enough.
    First of all, a correct way to add a loaded bitmap image is:
    addChild(Loader.content);
    Second, content is available once it starts loading
    (Event.INIT). So because the content is not available right away -
    there is no parent - if you know what I mean.
    I tried my best to write something that may work (see
    attached code). I did not test it though and even did not test the
    syntax - I am on a computer that doesn't have my development tools.
    The logic is:
    Make container --> make loader --> give them the same
    name for match them later --> attach INIT listener to
    contentLoderInfo --> inside the listener: get the name of the
    loader -- > add loader content to display list --> add
    textfield --> attach progress listener.
    Inside progress listener the logic is the same - to find the
    name an update the appropriate textfield.
    Frankly, this solution doesn't look elegant to me. I would
    rather make a class that extends Loader and handles all the logic.
    Or, perhaps, someone else can show a better way without classes.
    Let me know if it works.
    Second thought: Obviously this solution is a bit stupid -
    when INIT is invoked - image is available and adding the progress
    is useless.
    I am too tired to think about different way to accommodate
    your need for the progress display. But, maybe, if you follow the
    logic you can make appropriate adjustments keeping in mind the
    sequence of the events and availability of the objects.

  • URLClassLoader loading class from jarB, which uses classes from jarC

    Hi, here's my problem:
    I have a classA in executable jarA.
    This uses URLClassLoader to load classB from jarB. So far so good.
    But classB uses classC, which lives in jarC. jarC is specified in the Class-Path of the manifest in jarB. But classB gets a ClassNotFound exception when it tries to use classC.
    The situation I want to achieve looks like this (sorry for the bad art; it's almost impossible to make it look better because sun strips out extra spaces):
    jarA:
    classA-----> URLClassLoader(jarB).loadClass(classB)
    jarB:
    Class-Path jarC
    classB------> new classC
    jarC:
    classC
    My expectation was that URLClassLoader would automatically be used to load all the classes that classB uses, and that it would extend its classpath by the classpath specified in the manifest of jarB, just like the default classloader does. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
    When I do the following, i.e. use only the default classloader, everything works fine. Unfortunately I won't know where jarB is until runtime, so I can't actually do this:
    jarA:
    Class-Path jarC
    classA-----> new classB
    jarB:
    Class-Path jarC
    classB------> new classC
    jarC:
    classC
    thanks alot
    j

    Actually, there is definitely a way to make this work. A plugin engine has to handle this in order for plugins loaded by separate loaders to be able to share class instances with one another (dependency). My engine does static runtime plugin dependency resolution, which means it parsers every plugin's config file, then after all plugins are in the "registry" it goes back and resolves all dependencies. How it does this is that each PluginClassLoader keeps a list of "dependent" classloaders. So, if the engine finds plugin A, B, and C, and B depends on C (declares this in its config file), the engine creates 3 class loaders (custom loader called PluginClassLoader), one for each plugin. This is done so that the plugin can be unloaded or reloaded at runtime without having to shut the application down. Now, since B depends on C, when plugin B code requests a class found in C, the JVM first asks B's loader to find the class. The "normal" delegation model of Java is for B's loader to first look in the parent hierarchy, then in its own classpath. The problem with this approach is that in order to support reloadable and unloadable plugins, you do NOT want your plugin .jar file at any location within the main application classpath. The plugin .jar file should be able to be at any URL location outside of any other classpath, even perhaps at another web site.
    So, the JVM asks B to find the class in C. But B's loader isn't able to find it because it is not in B's classpath. The trick is to do one of a couple things. First, remember that each loader keeps a list of dependent loaders. Second, in order to avoid any tie-in to the main classpath, we break the normal classloader delegation model by overriding the loadClass() method. In here we want to first check our local cache of loaded classes. The built-in method findLoadedClass() handles this for us. If that doesn't return a Class, then we want to look in our own classpath. In this case, we only want to look for any classes in B's plugin .jar file. C's class of course wont be found here. So the next step is to delegate to our "dependent" list of loaders. Aha, you say? This is the trick (credit goes to the Eclipse IDE team where a few members taught me this and was able to help me solve my very same problem). By delegating to a dependent loader, B's loader effectively asks C's loader to find C's class. The same thing happens, only this time it is now C's loader doing the work. The very first time the calls is made, no classes are loaded yet, so the finding of the C class in the local cache of C's loader wont yet work. The next step though, looking in C's classpath (C's .jar file) WILL find the class. It is loaded, put in C's loader cache and the Class is returned. Now, at this point B now has a Class from C's classpath that it can use.
    Now, my first foray into this made me think that if B asks C to find it, and C finds it and loads the bytecode, doesn't B's loader also need the bytecode in order to properly "see" the C class. Apparently, this is not needed. I am guessing the JVM keeps a repository of bytecode, so that so long as you have the C ref (location in the JVM's memory where C's bytecode is), you don't need to re-load the bytecode of C into B's loader. Thus, B's loader now can "see" the C class without actually having to have loaded the bytecode of C. Now, B's code can typecast C, use it, etc. Beautiful aint it?
    Let me know if you have any further questions.
