When I run appc at compile time I am getting the reported error. What strang is that if I disable appc at compile time, weblogic performs appc on the fly and all works fine. The same error I get even when I do run appc externaly to final ear.
Can someone please assist to troubleshoot that?
Thanks

Ant appc targed follows:
<target name="appc" unless="skip-appc">
<property name="appc.target" value="${svc.jar.name}.ear"/>
<echo message="${toString:wl.class.path}"/>
<mkdir dir="${appc.dir}"/>
<java classname="weblogic.appc" dir="${dist.dir}" fork="true" failonerror="true">
<jvmarg value="-Djava.io.tmpdir=${appc.dir}"/>
<arg line="-verbose"/>
<classpath>
<path refid="wl.class.path"/>
</classpath>
<arg value="${appc.target}"/>
</java>
<delete dir="${appc.dir}"/>
</target>
While running ant JAVA_HOME is set to JDK 1.6, wl.class.path is pointing to weblogic 10.3.4 libraries. Now I am just thinking of that ear is compiled by JDK 1.6 with target specified to 1.5. Do I somehow specify the same option for appc ?

    Anyone have an answer for this problem? I'm getting it with 7.0 SP3. Not helpful that WLS doesn't not give any reason why it fails.

  • EJB fails to compile - static inner class problem

    I am using OC4J 9.0.4 and Sun JDK1.4.2 and EJBs fail to compile if they reference objects that contain static inner classes. However, they successfully compile under JDK1.4.1.
    For example, I have a class like below:
    public class ValueObject
    public static class Key
    private Key key;
    private String value;
    Any references to ValueObject.Key inside the EJB cause the EJB compiler to generate "ValueObject$Key" which is incorrect. JDK1.4.1 is more lenient than 1.4.2, and allows this error through.
    Is there a way around this problem other than reverting to JDK1.4.1?
    Regards,
    Andy

    The reason I don't want to move to JDK 1.4.1 is because of the memory leak in the StringBuffer.toString() method.
    Is there anywhere I can submit this as a bug?
    Regards,
    Andy

  • Failed to Generate Wrapper Class Error With Postgresql

    Hello,
    Sorry if this comes across twice, I posted it first through the Google Groups interface, but I haven't seen it show up on the dev2dev forum interface. So here it is again.
    I've read the following threads that seem to be related to this
    question:
    http://groups-beta.google.com/group/weblogic.developer.interest.jdbc/browse_thread/thread/dc8f0a9ee03e9b9f/f0a70a673db3bb52
    http://groups-beta.google.com/group/weblogic.developer.interest.jdbc/browse_thread/thread/4f3b71c77dca30c4/4ed2e1c7b76a0c7b
    I also followed the links in the second post ( I also found them via
    Google as well ). I've been very sure the Postgresql JDBC driver is
    definitely in the class path. I'm able to load it with Class.forName()
    from a JSP page and then use DriverManager to get a connection that
    works. So that definitely means the driver is found.
    What else can cause this?
    The only really odd thing I am doing is running Weblogic on OS X,
    10.3.7 with all the updates. I know that this Weblogic setup works
    since I work on Oracle all day (using the provided Weblogic driver in
    8.1SP3). Just when I try to create a Postgresql connection for testing
    our app against Postgresql.
    I've tried it on Windows with Weblogic 8.1SP3 and it works, so I know
    Weblogic is capable of using this driver.
    My exact stacktrace is:

    Patrick,
    1. Could you try to test the postgress connection pool using
    "Test Connection" on the pool set up page?
    2. Could you compare config.xml for broken and working installations
    in part of the connection pool settings?

  • Failed to Generate Wrapper Class exception while connecting to access database.

    i tried to connect to access database in windows. i made a user dsn in windows

    Hi Askok. This exception usually means that the weblogic server's environment
    doesn't have all it needs to make the jdbc connection you want. You should
    ensure that the OS environment variable PATH has all the libraries you need
    for making a jdbc-odbc connection, and that it's classpath also contains the
    driver you want.
    What DBMS are you connecting to? The reason I ask is because if there is a
    pure JDBC driver for it, that will be preferable, because the jdbc-odbc bridge
    from Sun is not threadsafe, so it can corrupt Weblogic.

    Thanks Pascal

    Regarding your problem and the remark you posted to my question in "Calling
    EJBs from a thread in a startup class": It is possible to call methods of an
    EJB from a startup class. I use this functionality to route messages from
    JMS to my EJBs. From what you say, I assume that you are calling the EJB
    from your startup method, which might be a problem, since WL is not
    initialized at this point and does not accept any connections (this
    obviously includes internal connections). You should wait for this phase to
    finish and then use some other mechanism (e.g. a JMS message) to trigger
    your startup class to invoke any home or remote methods on the EJB.
    Looking at your stack trace, I am reminded of a very similar exception I
    encountered when I was experimenting with WL a short while ago. I had put my
    EJB jar file on WL's JAVA_CLASSPATH, just to see how the different
    classloaders work. Of course I don't know if this has any relevance to your
    configuration.
    Andy
    PS: The only exception to what I wrote in the first paragraph seems to be if
    you start a new thread from the startup class. I still haven't managed to
    call my EJB from this thread.

  • User defined data type generated class

    Hi
    When defining a new data type in the local dictionary, one has to option of generating a representation class.
    I have done this and indeed received the class in my app.
    However, I fail to understand how I can use this class to retrieve values set in the data type.
    Thank you for your assistance
    Regadrs
    yuval

    Hello Y PEERY
    I am not clear which context you are talking about .
    Are you taking about simple type inside local dictonary ?
    or
    A project with data dictonary type ?
    (for webdynpro only)
    In both the case no need to deal with internal generated class, this is somethig which is requrired to framework itself , end developer not at all using /modifiying it.
    or
    Might you are dealing with EJB so in this case representation class is generated once we provide the basic(name , package etc) to it , further you can modify it according to your use.
    Please clarify

    I am also trying to invoke the HelloWorld service from Microsoft .Net. Is there any sample code available?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    in generating a .net client your life becomes a lot easier, just point the wsdl executable at the .wsdl file and you're done. all you have to do is plug the generated class into your application. it's so much easier than the recent java implementations - it's embarrasing

    Hi Manish,
    It seems that you are using a custom security provider and the weblogic server is not able to find the class / jar file that contains the class.
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Failed to load class com.msl.security.providers.SessionPrincipal]
    Make sure you have all the required jar files in the server classpath.
    You can use the JarScan utility to find the jar that contains the class.
    Refer the below link regarding the jarScan.

  • Webservices: jwsc is unable to compile wsdlc-generated classes

    Hello,
    I'm trying to generate JAXWS web service classes using WebLogic 10.0 MP1 wsdlc and jwsc Ant tasks, following the steps described in [Creating a Web Service from a WSDL File|http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/webserv/use_cases.html#wp220705].
    I'm using the WSRP WSDL which I have in my local system and which is also available at [http://docs.oasis-open.org/wsrp/v2/wsrp-service.wsdl]. The only change I made is to remove all the references to "v1" specification of WSRP in there.
    It seems that wsdlc can only work with a single service and single port so I'm currently trying to generate just the classes for WSRP_v2_Markup_Service port.
    Here are my ant tasks:
    <wsdlc type="JAXWS" srcWsdl="${wsdl.path}" srcPortName="WSRP_v2_Markup_Service" destJwsDir="${target.jws.dir}" destImplDir="${target.impl.dir}" />
    <jwsc srcdir="${target.impl.dir}" destdir="target/wls-wsrp-ws.ear">
    <jws type="JAXWS" file="oasis/names/tc/wsrp/v2/wsdl/WSRPV2ServiceImpl.java" compiledWsdl="target/compiledWsdl/wsrp-2_0-service_wsdl.jar">
    <WLHttpTransport contextPath="${contextPath}" serviceUri="WSRP_v2_Markup_Service" />
    </jws>
    "wsdlc" part succeeds but jwsc part fails with the following error message:
    [jwsc] C:\DOCUME~1\zachcial\LOCALS~1\Temp\_970x54\oasis\names\tc\wsrp\v2\wsdl\WSRPV2MarkupPortType.java 263:28
    [jwsc] *[ERROR] - Method contains javax.jws.WebResult annotation but is not a WebMethod. Add the javax.jws.WebMethod annotation to the method definition.*
    [jwsc] C:\DOCUME~1\zachcial\LOCALS~1\Temp\_970x54\oasis\names\tc\wsrp\v2\wsdl\WSRPV2MarkupPortType.java 290:28
    [jwsc] *[ERROR] - Method contains javax.jws.WebResult annotation but is not a WebMethod. Add the javax.jws.WebMethod annotation to the method definition.*
    [jwsc] C:\home\hp\WsrpTake5\wls-wsrp-ws\target\impl\oasis\names\tc\wsrp\v2\wsdl\WSRPV2ServiceImpl.java 17:8
    [jwsc] [ERROR] - javax.jws.WebService.endpointInterface oasis.names.tc.wsrp.v2.wsdl.WSRPV2MarkupPortType is invalid.
    Looking at the interface class and line I find both WebMethod and WebResult annotations for the methods above, e.g.:
    *@WebMethod(action = "urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v2:releaseSessions")*
    *@WebResult(name = "extensions", targetNamespace = "urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v2:types")*
    @RequestWrapper(localName = "releaseSessions", targetNamespace = "urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v2:types", className = "oasis.names.tc.wsrp.v2.types.ReleaseSessions")
    @ResponseWrapper(localName = "releaseSessionsResponse", targetNamespace = "urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v2:types", className = "oasis.names.tc.wsrp.v2.types.ReturnAny")
    public List<Extension> releaseSessions(
    @WebParam(name = "registrationContext", targetNamespace = "urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v2:types")
    RegistrationContext registrationContext,
    @WebParam(name = "sessionIDs", targetNamespace = "urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v2:types")
    List<String> sessionIDs,
    @WebParam(name = "userContext", targetNamespace = "urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v2:types")
    UserContext userContext)
    throws AccessDenied, InvalidRegistration, MissingParameters, ModifyRegistrationRequired, OperationFailed, OperationNotSupported, ResourceSuspended
    I found the following post of somebody having a similar problem: [http://forums.bea.com/thread.jspa?threadID=600014665]. Unfortunately for me both interface and implementation method declarations look exactly the same except the @Web... annotations not present in the implementation class.
    Can you think about anything I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance for any help.
    /Slawek

    I figured that out.
    It turns out that the order of exceptions in the interface class and in the generated implementation class are not the same. Even though this is fine from the Java perspective, jwsc gets confused by this. Putting the exceptions in the method signatures of the implementation class in the same order as in the interface fixes this issue.
    Now, I hit another problem:
    jwsc error: Response wrapper bean names must be unique and must not clash with other generated classes. Class: oasis.names.tc.wsrp.v2.wsdl.WSRPV2MarkupPortType method initCookie(oasis.names.tc.wsrp.v2.types.RegistrationContext,oasis.names.tc.wsrp.v2.types.UserContext)
    Let's see how long will it take to find a fix for this one ...
    /Slawek

  • WARNING: Problem validating implementation class. Failed to load class:

    when i am running plsqlAssembler.jar file for wsa.jar with all other atributes , i am getting this warning WARNING: Problem validating implementation class. Failed to load class.
    Please if anybody knows about this reply me,
    thanks in advance.

    If you are using Ex in the implemetation class, make sure that you also include the same in the interface (or SEI).
    If the implementation looks something like:
    public void doSomething() throws Ex {
    System.out.println("Is there something to do, now ?");
    then the SEI should be:
    public void doSomething() throws Ex, RemoteException;
    If your have ommited Ex, then you will have the warning you are seing, and there wont be any artifact generated for Ex in the WSDL.
    Because the Ex exception was not mapped to any WSDL artifact, there is no way you will see the Ex exception generated on the client side (or proxy).
    I have been able to reproduce your error message, so you should be all good.
    WARNING: Problem validating implementation class. Exception declaration mismatch between Implementation: bugyyy.MyServiceImpl and Interface: bugyyy.MyWebService. Impl class Method: doSomething declares exceptions not declared by the interface (bugyyy.Ex)
    Hope this helps,

  • I need a clarification : Can I use EJBs instead of helper classes for better performance and less network traffic?

    My application was designed based on MVC Architecture. But I made some changes to HMV base on my requirements. Servlet invoke helper classes, helper class uses EJBs to communicate with the database. Jsps also uses EJBs to backtrack the results.
    I have two EJBs(Stateless), one Servlet, nearly 70 helperclasses, and nearly 800 jsps. Servlet acts as Controler and all database transactions done through EJBs only. Helper classes are having business logic. Based on the request relevant helper classed is invoked by the Servlet, and all database transactions are done through EJBs. Session scope is 'Page' only.
    Now I am planning to use EJBs(for business logic) instead on Helper Classes. But before going to do that I need some clarification regarding Network traffic and for better usage of Container resources.
    Please suggest me which method (is Helper classes or Using EJBs) is perferable
    1) to get better performance and.
    2) for less network traffic
    3) for better container resource utilization
    I thought if I use EJBs, then the network traffic will increase. Because every time it make a remote call to EJBs.
    Please give detailed explanation.
    thank you,
    sudheer

    <i>Please suggest me which method (is Helper classes or Using EJBs) is perferable :
    1) to get better performance</i>
    EJB's have quite a lot of overhead associated with them to support transactions and remoteability. A non-EJB helper class will almost always outperform an EJB. Often considerably. If you plan on making your 70 helper classes EJB's you should expect to see a dramatic decrease in maximum throughput.
    <i>2) for less network traffic</i>
    There should be no difference. Both architectures will probably make the exact same JDBC calls from the RDBMS's perspective. And since the EJB's and JSP's are co-located there won't be any other additional overhead there either. (You are co-locating your JSP's and EJB's, aren't you?)

    Again, the EJB version will consume a lot more container resources.
