Elements 11 on Yosemite does not install

After repair my Macbook Pro came back with Yosemite pre-installed.
I wanted to re-install Adobe Elements 11, but now it says the serial number is wrong for both Photoshop elements 11 and Premiere elements 11.
I used this on Mavericks with same serials before repair and it worked fine.
Looking at support info for Elements 11 it says it is only supported till Mac OSx version 10.8
Yosemite is 10.10.1
(But then again also Elements 13 is only supported till 10.9 it says...)
Is there any way i can re-install Elements 11 on Yosemite? Or am i forced to buy a new version now? If yes which version is supported?
Hope someone solved this issue before :-)

    Hi keltystu,
You are doing 2 things wrong:
    1. you are trying to run EXE file(installer) on MAC
    2. You are trying to run a very old application on latest configuration which is not compatible and may not fulfill the appropriate requirement.

  • Elements 10 dmg file does not install on lion

I bought Elements 10 as a download for Mac Lion 10.7.2 and it doesn't install properly. I started the install as admininstrator, via Akamai downloader, provided the serial number then it spent four hours 'checking the system'. I rebooted to terminate the 'hung' install application and now double clicking the dmg file simply lists the contents.
I already have LR3, saw no discusssions suggesting issues with Elements 10 so I expected that Elements would work easily, which is why I bought rather than trialed Elements 10. I have since downloaded the trial version just in case it was different but it's the same.
Mac Mini Mac OS X Server 10.7.2 (11C74)

Log in as a user with administrator access privileges - made no difference
Install the latest version of the Adobe software - all was up to date so made no difference
Install current Mac OS X updates - nothing to update
Re-create the preferences files - made no difference (with 'shift' restart between)
Ensure that your OS language setting matches the language version of your Adobe product - was IE, now US - no difference (with 'shift' restart between)
Run the application while no other applications are running - normal way so no difference
Run the Adobe application with the Login Items disabled - install hung (just like it did the first time I ran it and as reported by Reijo T)
Install the Adobe application from the desktop - standard procedure for all recent attempts & made no difference
Install or run the Adobe application from within a new user account - different behaviours noted but ultimately made no difference - if user is admin, then install hangs at 0% after requesting admin PWD - if standard user, install fails with same exit code 24 right after getting an admin UID/PWD - if repeated without log-off, install cannot start because process already running.
Update the video card driver - nothing to update
Verify that you are using the latest driver and PPD file for the printer - n/a
Remove third-party plug-ins - none for LR3, only other Adobe app.
Disable extensions using Extensions Manager - n/a
Reinstall the Adobe application - no effect
Repair disk permissions by running Disk Utility - lots of minor corrections but made no difference
Repair and defragment hard disks - OS X handles this
Optimize scratch disks - already optimized

    Troubleshoot ICC profiles - n/a
My deadline for this project has passed and unless there's a quick guaranteed fix, I'm going back to Win7.

  • Elements Organizer does not install when reinstalling PSE10

I have a problem that I cannot seem to resolve. Previously Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 had been running flawlessly on my computer and was easily opened by clicking the desktop icon which had a "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe" target. After uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop Elements 10, when I click on the Desktop icon to start the application, I get a dialog box that says "The item 'Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly". If I right click the Photoshop Elements 10 desktop icon and check properties, the Target says "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe". When I open Explorer and navigate to where the target says the application file should be, the "Elements 10 Organizer" directory does not exist. The only directory that does exist is the "Photoshop Elements 10" directory and it contains the 'PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe'. Yes if I click on that file the Editor opens, however when I try to load the Organizer workspace once the editor is open, it does not load because the entire folder and application is missing. I even tried searching the entire C-Drive to find the Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe file but it was nowhere to be found.
To be specific, I had PSE8, PSE9, and PSE10 installed on my 64-bit Windows 7 Professional w/SP1 computer. I decided to uninstall PSE8 & 9 because I had just purchased PSE12 and wanted to make room for the PSE12 installation. When I tried to first uninstall PSE8, the uninstaller stopped with the warning that PSE8 was installed in the same directory as PSE10. The uninstall then terminated when I clicked on OK. Next tried to uninstall PSE9 and received the same warning and uninstaller termination. The same thing happened when I tried to uninstall PSE10. Faced with the situation that all three products were installed in the same directory and would not uninstall individually, I found it necessary to uninstall all three applications manually according to the directions on the Adobe's knowledgebase.
To uninstall PSE8, PSE9, & PSE10, first thing I did was create a system restore point which is something I always do just in case something goes wrong. Then starting with PSE8, I first printed out the Photoshop Elements Help "Manually remove Photoshop Elements 8 | Windows that I found at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/826/cpsid_82673.html. Subsequently I printed out the directions for each product, PSE8, PSE9, and PSE10, are all on the Adobe website. Next I followed the directions contained in each article except for running the product uninstaller as I mentioned above and removed all three applications then rebooted my machine.
Next I reinstalled PSE10 and tried to open it only to find that it did not fully install especially the Elements Organizer. As mentioned you can open the Editor by going directly to the executable file however you cannot access the Organizer because it did not install and cannot be found anywhere on the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE10 five time now each time using the product Uninstaller plus the "Manually remove PSE10" directions and I still cannot get the Elements Organizer to install.
My question is does Adobe have a utility that can be run after manually installing a specific product that would find registry entries that were not removed after completing the manual removal process? The problem I see is the manual removal process which shows possible registry entries to remove manually is built on the assumption that you were able to run the Uninstaller which is not the case with my problem.
Secondly does anyone have any suggestions on how to install both the PSE10 Organizer and Editor?

I believe I found a solution but I need help in changing some of the parameters to reflect for a United States program install.
If you go to "Elements 10 Organizer is not installed [SOLUTION]" at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4745941 you will note the Poster says it is possible to force the install of Elements Organizer 10 by using the command line:
    msiexec /i "E:\Adobe Photoshop Elements 10\ElementsOrganizer\Elements 10 Organizer.msi" TRANSFORMS=1031.mst ELEMENTS_DE_DE=1 ORGANIZER_DE_DE=1 STARTWATCHSERVICE=1 SUPPRESSREBOOT=0 NOT_STANDALONE=1 /l*v "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\OrganizerInstall.log".
I found that the above command line input does in fact start the setup for the PSE10 "Elements Organizer" Installer except it is in a language other than English.
Is there anyone familiar enough with coding and command line prompts to change whatever paramenters are necessary to have the installer run in English.
Hopefully there are some Adobe Staff monitoring this message that can answer the question for me.

  • Elements Organizer 9 does not install with PS Elements

I have installed Photoshop Elements Version 9 on a Windows 7 64 bit system. Photoshop Elements installs and works good... but the Organizer does not install and of course will not load either. I have uninstalled installed and reinstalled several times... still no luck.
I can tell it is not installed because when I look in the Program Files (x86) under Adobe... the Photoshop Elements 9 folder is there but the Elements Organizer 9 is not there.
How can I get organizer installed?
    Thanks...
    Rod

Follow the below link, remove all the entries for PSE 9 from the machine and then try to install again. This time the organizer should get installed.

My Imac late 2012 running Yosemite does not recognise my Huawei 3g usb modem. itried to install Java bt still it does not although the same modem works with my MacBook pro . any help please

    Hey there mbarikiwa,
If your iMac still has not recognized the usb modem, I would use the troubleshooting for Yosemite USB issues in the following article:
OS X Yosemite: If a USB device isn’t working
If the device is connected to a USB hub:
Make sure the device and the hub are the same speed. Connect USB 3.0 SuperSpeed devices to a USB 3.0 SuperSpeed HUB, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed devices to a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed hub, and so on.
If the device doesn’t have a power cord and is plugged into another USB device that doesn’t have a power cord:
Try plugging the device directly into your computer’s USB port  or into a USB device that does have a power cord. You might need to disconnect and reconnect the other device as well, if it has stopped responding.
If you have many devices connected to your Mac:
Disconnect all USB devices except the device you’re testing, an Apple keyboard, and an Apple mouse. Make sure that the device is connected directly to the computer, and that any hubs or extension cables are disconnected. If you can use the device now, the problem may be with one of the other USB devices or hubs you had connected to your computer. Try reconnecting them, one by one, to your computer. When you find the device causing the problem, review its documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
Verify that the device appears in System Information:
Choose Apple menu > About This Mac. In the window that appears, click Overview, then click the System Report button to open System Information.
In the window that appears, see if the USB device is listed below Hardware in the Contents list. If the device appears but does not work, review the device’s documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
    Restart apps:
Quit and restart any apps that use the device.
    Restart your Mac:
    Choose Apple menu > Restart.
    Check your device’s USB connection
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Photoshop Elements 12 does not install on Win 8.1 64bit

    Hi!
My system: Windows 8.1 64 bit with all patches, 32GB Ram and engough HD space.
    I downloaded PSE 12 32bit and Premiere Elements 12 64bit. Both won't install.
    Problems:
Premiere: Installation fails when shared components should be installed. I spent more than 2hrs trying every tip I found in forums. Same result.
Photoshop: It always tries to deinstall Elements 12 (which is definetely not installed) and fails becaus of "Specified path is empty". It was never fully installed. I cleaned all folders manually, I deleted registry entries according forum advise. I rebooted. I put the installation files onto C:. Before I installed, I deinstalled Elements 9. I also cleaned those files. An no, I did not deinstall my Antivirus. I cannot deactivate it and deinstalling is a very very bad option.
    What I already tried:
    10 reboots
    Deinstall old version
    Clean Temp folder
    Clean Registry
Delete all folders and hopefull all registry "Elements" entries
    Archive OOBE Folder
    Moved installation Files to C:
    Start Installation as Administrator
Monitored if any other Adobe program is running - killed all
Any help is much apreshiated. I am desperate and about to return the products.
    Michael
    Added solution attempts.

Ok, I had many problems with the installation, but after three attempts I've got it working. This might work with a previously failed installation - but there are other guides in the forum to get this position -thanks also to the many threads on the this - which pointed me in the right direction
Previously I'd had issues with Error 1935, (on Shared Technologies), Blue screens due to clbudf.sys from Cyberlink Instant burn which blue screened (thread abort exception) this install as also iTunes. (I haven't installed this now...
    My scenario. Win 7 (clean) -> Win 8 -> Win 8.1
After setting up the setting up the system.
I ensured the following : (although begrudingly) so I could do a system restore if needed.
    -I disabled Anitvirus & Firewall
    -enabled Volume Shadow Copy Service
I then ensured I had downloaded Adobe Application Manager 8.0 (read this may help) - I installed - but I did not run it as I believe it updates to Adobe CC Manager( from previous attempts)
i also downloaded and installed the 32 bit versions of :
    C++2008 redistributable (32 bit)
    C++2008 SP1 redistributable (32 bit)
I installed Premiere Elements (64 bit) - note I had previously installed Sony Vegas 10 Platinum, which downloaded and installed NET 3.5/Net 2.0 adding to windows features, which many have helped - not sure.
I installed Photoshop Elements (32 bit)
I started both apps and updated them to 12.1.
Happy ... finally - hope this helps others - or at least helps adobe improve their installer, diagnose the issue for others.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 for Mac does not show up in Applications. Tutorial for editing from iPhoto shows selecting the Adobe software in Applications. Am I missing a step in registering product?

I answered my own question: There's a difference between "download' and "install." Hunt for "install" (1.5 hrs in my case) and line up your passwords, Adobe ID, etc, then install. Took 15 min. The right choice shows up in Applications. Now it's on to figuring out why photo selected for edit in iPhoto does not show up on screen in Elements.

  • Windows 8 - Move Elements to New PC - Does Not Download - Download Assistant Does Not Pop Up

I just switch to an Asus N550 which runs Windows 8. I have no need to subscribe to creative cloud at this time as I feel that I have still a few months/years of joy to get out of my Elements 11 purchase from last year.
I also have Premiere 10 which I would like to migrate over to my new computer.
Here is what I have tried thus far:
I logged onto my Adobe account and tried to download from "My Products". I have noticed that the Adobe Download Manager does not install at that point or turn on. I almost immediate receive an error message stating that Elements Archive is not on my computer and thus the software cannot download.
I have also tried to download the trial versions, but once download is complete (after hours of waiting again), nothing happens and there are no temporary files or anything in my System Files folder.
I am at a loss and am not sure where to turn to next. I have the Lightroom CD and was able to install Lightroom with the CD without any hick-ups.
What is going wrong during my download attempts that need fixed? I cannot seem to find the answer on Adobe.
    Thank you!

    Hi J.Ke11y,
Sorry for the trouble with download.
Please try to download Photoshop Elements 11 from this link: Other downloads
    Let us know this works.
    Thanks,

  • Yosemite does not recognize scanner

I have a MacBook Pro 6,2 (2.4 Ghz i5 and 8 Gb RAM) and I have just installed Yosemite 10.10.2. I am testing it carefully to make sure all of the applications that I need are properly supported. Yosemite does not see either of my scanners. I have 2 scanners; an Epson Perfection V600 Photo and an older HP Scanjet 5590. System Preferences does not see either scanner and I cannot, therefore, add them. I have downloaded and installed the latest driver and software from Epson. To test the scanners, I connect them directly to the MacBook Pro via USB. Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 does see the Epson scanner in the "select device" dialog that follows "Create PDF->From Scanner->Select Device" dialogs, but then returns an error stating is cannot communicate with the device. Acrobat Pro 9 does not see the HP at all. Image Capture does not see either scanner. Both printers (HP LaserJet 2035 and HP OfficeJet 8100) are visible and work properly, connected through my home network (Mac Pro wired, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air wireless), both are connected via USB
My intention is make sure all of my existing hardware and software works as it should in Yosemite before I upgrade my Mac Pro desktop (still on 10.8.5 Mountain Lion). I cannot risk killing the whole thing. And I am not a Macintosh neophyte; I still have my old Mac Plus in a box in the garage and I have relied on Macintosh since 1986.
Is there some installation or configuration detail that I am missing?

There is no 'earlier' version that supports XP. iCloud launched with Vista/7 support only.

    Hi jvandal,
The CD that came with the PIXMA MG5320 does not include Windows 8 drivers and softare, so you would have to download the drivers and software from our website.  Use the following steps to download the drivers and software:
Go to Canon's Support & Drivers website at:
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer
Enter your model name into the Model Name field, then click GO.
Select your operating system in the Select Operating System and Select OS Version dropdown lists, respectively.
Expand the Drivers section by clicking the red triangle.
Click on the file named MG5300 Mini Master Setup.
After reading the details and disclaimer, click 'I Agree Begin Download' and save the file to your computer.
Once the download is complete, double-click the file from its download location to begin the installation.
Once complete, click the I Decline Go Back to return to the download page.
Expand the Software section by clicking the red triangle.
Click on the file named MP Navigator EX Ver 5.0.0.

Once the download is complete, double-click the file from its download location to begin the installation.

There have been a number of problems with installing the latest iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit machines during the last couple of weeks.  You might want to do a search on that topic and see if anyone has a solution.  There have been various versions of the problem but a lot related to errors in the download package or failure to download.

Got a partial fix - In Firefox, the Adobe PDF Toolbar gets installed in "Disabled" mode.  To enable, go to "Tools->Add-ons->Extensions", select "Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF" and enable it.
Now, as for the rest of the Acrobat plugins, I'm still trying to find a way to enable them.  Any ideas?
