Elements and gif files

I in stalled PS Elementsd 2.0 on Windows 7 2013 and gif. files stopped working. What can be done?

As far as i know, windows 7 won't play animated gifs in the stock windows photo viewer like windows xp would.
Did you install some kind of add on to make windows photo viewer play animated gifs?
Are you sure windows photo viewer was the program opening and playing the animated gifs?
XnView is a nice program that will play animated gifs and do a whole lot more.

  • Color issues w/ .png and .gif files in CS5.5 Live view

    Hi All,
    I am having a bunch of trouble with my .png and .gif image files in Dreamweaver CS5.5. In Dreamweaver's design view everything looks fine but when I preview my pages in Live View or in a browser the colors in my .png and .gif files are way off. All my images are designed in RGB.
    Any info anyone has to offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    GIFS contain a maximum of 216 colors (web safe palette)
    PNG and JPG can contain 16 million colors (true color palette),
    When you say the colors are  "way off"  we don't know what you mean.
    Can you post a link to your web page?

  • Jpg and gif files not showing up on recipient's email

    When I attach photos on an email sent from whichever email address through my Mail Application (the one that comes with all Mac OS), sometimes people using AOL or other mail servers don't even see the files. Usually, I think all the problems are with jpg, pdf, and gif files and not .doc files or any text files. they seem to see the text files without any problems. So then Im forced to go to my gmail through safari and attach one by one. Honestly, I find the click and drag en masse of the files I want as attachments much easier, but I want to know how and what is the reason that some servers continuously cannot see my files. Sometimes they see the files as I attach them, meaning as photos on the actual email. And they get confused and don't know how to download them because they say that on the email application they use (gmail for example) there is nowhere where it says download attachments. What is going on and what can I do on my mail application to change this. its really frustrating because my work makes me email lots of photos and sometimes this problem is extremely cumbersome and annoying

    Some email readers have trouble with enclosures (particularly graphics) from within an email that is formatted as Rich Text. If you format your mail as Plain Text (see the Format menu) then I expect they will see the enclosures.

  • PS ELEMENTS and raw files

    I have PS Elements 7. I cant open raw files from a memory card shot in a Canon 6D. I went to help in Elements, and under camera raw plug-in, it says my version is 4.5.0.175. Do I upgrade this, and how? Am I also going to need a DNG converter?

    You need ACR 7.3 according to this list
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
    So I don't think you are going to be able access the CR2 files directly from Elements.  (This is actually the Photoshop forum, and we don't know much at all about Elements.  You can find the right forum at Photoshop Elements)
    So you are going to need to install the free DNG converter, but it is no real hassle.

  • Can't save TGA and GIF files with layers

    Hi,
    I'm using Photoshop CS5 for Mac, and when I try to save files as TGA or GIF, the Layers option is not available and the result is a flattened, single layer.
    • Files I am working with are 8bit RGB.
    • Photoshop is set to 32bit, not 64bit.
    • There are no extra channels other than RGB.
    • Switching files to indexed color doesn't help because it asks to merge all layers.
    • I can open Gif files containing layers, but I can't then Save or Save As with layers.
    All help appreciated, and thanks in advance.
    Below is the save dialog box as it appears when i try to save a Gif or TGA.

    GIF does not support layers.
    Animated GIF files may open as layers into Photoshop. You need to save them again as an animated GIF file after manipulating them in the animation panel. The 'Save for Web' function would be most ideal.

  • Jar file and gif file

    why jar file cant load the .gif file? is it need to specify the directory for the .gif file in jar? when i run my applet, that can't load the picture, what is the problem? below is my code:
    public static final ImageIcon ICON_FOLDER =new ImageIcon("folder.gif");
    for (int i=0; i<v.size(); i++) {
                   FileNode nd = (FileNode)v.elementAt(i);
                   IconData idata = new IconData(DirTree.ICON_FOLDER,
                        DirTree.ICON_EXPANDEDFOLDER, nd);
                   DefaultMutableTreeNode node = new
                        DefaultMutableTreeNode(idata);
                   parent.add(node);
                   if (nd.hasSubDirs())
                        node.add(new DefaultMutableTreeNode(
                             new Boolean(true) ));
              }

    if the image is in your jar file,maybe you can use:
    public static final ImageIcon ICON_FOLDER =new ImageIcon(this.class.getResource("folder.gif"));
    variable "this" stands for your class which extends Applet or JApplet
    ...I'm not sure

  • ICO and GIF files

    Why does Headstart need qmsaccep.ico as well as qmsaccep.gif to build the toolbar.
    Thanks in advance
    Auke Quist

    Auke,
    The ico files are used in client/server mode, the gif files are only used on the web.
    Kind regards,
    Peter.

  • Elements and .psd files

    Hi all....I recently paid a graphic design firm to create a product brochure for me. It was supplied to me in .psd format.
    I would like to add some text, and a small logo to the file, then save the file as a .pdf type file.
    Will photoshop Elements give me this ability? or do I need to purchase the full Photoshop program.
    This brochure will be customized and edited over and over again by me, so I need the ability to edit it in house rather than just paying him to miodify it for me every time.
    thanx in advance
    shane

    Great - i will confirm with the deiginer whether or not the file contains CMYK / composite laters.
    Also....I can't seem to download the trial version....in the past, I had downloaded a trial version of Photoshop....now when I try to download the Element trial, it doesn't work...it keeps sending me to a "Purchase now" page for the full Photoshop program...frustrating actually. That's why I resorted to posting the question here.
    Thanx for your help by the way,
    shane

  • Adobe Premiere Elements and .MOD files - can I make them compatible?

    Any advice gratefully received!..  I have a laptop running on Windows 7, I've just installed PE10 and although I can import the footage from the hard drive into the time line, it's looking de-interlaced.  There is audio and picture, just not a decent picture!  Does anyone know how I can work around this?? any tips would be a help.  (The footage is from a Canon Legria FS200)

    Thank you both - I found it, and changed the file extension to .mpg
    Unfortunately the footage looks awful in the timeline.  I'm trying to get Adobe to help me and they keep promising me a call back 'within an hour and half!'  It's now been a week of these false promises and no-one will get back to me.  I've had 2 online chats where they say they can't help with any technical issue and that I need to call the helpline, which is what I'm doing anyway!...
    Might have to just send it back soon and start with some other editing software!

  • Photoshop Elements and RW2 Files

    I have a panasonic FZ28 that shoots RW2 RAW files. I see PE7 has Camera Raw but when I try and open the file it says it can't be parsed?
    Thanks
    Brian

    Brian, I searched for the same... had the same issue... and was tickled to find your post that said you have the same camera as me. I'm just curious, are you as happy with the camera as I am? I bought one for me and one for my husband, and it's so good that i'm tempted to buy one more & just put it in the closet for the day this one dies. OMG... how did I ever find a camera with every feature I ever wanted... easy to use interface and the lightest weight I could have ever imagined. I'm just thinking it's the best kept secret out there. Or is it?
    Thanks for the post here. I am off to get the download.

  • Quicktime and gif files

    I use gif images in my imovie projects. With my older version of quicktime pro, I was able to open a GIF, make it longer, and then drop it into my movie with picture in picture (imovie 6).]
    I recently bought a new MAC, and the with new version of quicktime, the gif images are gray, I can not open them.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Somewhat confused by your statement here. Were you using QT Pro or iMovie 6 to create your content?
    I recently bought a new MAC, and the with new version of quicktime, the gif images are gray, I can not open them.
    You should still be able to create picture-in-picture content with QT 7 Pro on a new Mac. In fact, if you set "in" and "out" points for the duration you want the GIF to play, your can use the "Add to selection and Scale" Edit menu option to combine the lengthening and pasting process into a single action. (I.e., open the GIF in one player and then using Command-A/Command-C to copy the "entire GIF image movie" to temporary memory before adding it to the second movie player.)

  • How to find out image size (in pixels) of jpg and gif files

    this seems to work, though i doubt that it would very time:
                   Image img = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("car.jpg");
                   int w = img.getWidth(null);
                   int h = img.getHeight(null);
                   while(w <= 0 || h <= 0)
                      try{Thread.sleep(10);}catch(InterruptedException ix){}
                      w = img.getWidth(null);
                      h = img.getHeight(null);
                   JOptionPane.showMessageDialog
                      null,
                      filenames[i] + ": " + w + "x" + h,
                      "ImgSize",
                      JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE
                   );please suggest a better solution.
    thanks

    We've a requirement that we need to find out the size of a java object at run time, is there a direct java API to get the size of a composite object in memory?
    Here is my requirement: We are adding string objects (which is an xml string of considerable size) into a List. After reaching certain size limit (lets say 5MB) of the list i need to put this data into DB as a CLOB. So every time I add a string object to the list, I need to see if the total size of the list exceeds the limit and if yes, flush the results into DB.
    I am not sure if java has a direct API for this, if not what is the beast way to do it, it s critical requirement for us.
    It would be really great if someone could help us out.
    >
    Could you explain your actual requirement a little more fully.
    1. Is each individual string a separate XML string? Or is it just a fragment? Why would you just concatenate them together into a CLOB? That won't produce valid XML and it won't let you easily separate the pieces again later. So provide a simple example showing some strings and how you need to manipulate them.
    2. Are you using these xml strings in Java at all? Or are you just loading them into the database?
    For example if you are just loading them into the database you don't need to create a list. Just create a CLOB in Java and append each string to the CLOB. Before you append each one you can check to see if the new string will put you over your length limit. If it will then you write the CLOB to the database, empty the CLOB and start appending again to the new clob instance.
    If you explain what you are really trying to do we might be able to suggest some better ways to do it.

  • Bridge: why can't I add any metadata to gif and pct files???

    Not sure what the issue is here with Adobe Bridge and gif and pct files, but Bridge won't let me add any metadata or keywords.
    With keywords, Bridge displays a window saying that pct and gif files can't add xmp metadata.
    Is there something I'm missing in my settings? Or should I just go ahead and convert all my gif and pct files to jpegs, tiffs or psd.

  • Idle url GIF file Image and XML file required.* for 7970

    Can anyone supply me a working xml and gif file for the Cisco 7970 colour phone?
    Has anyone actually got this working?
    Thanks!

    First, get the terms right.
    Idle screen is idle screen. Does not need to have anything to do with CCMCIP directory.
    You can set the phone "Device" to ANY server which is running a HTTP server and is able to send headers. Apache. IIS. You name it.
    What you have to do is to
    - make a PNG file accessible using HTTP. Say, it will be http://someniceserver/ipphonestuff/neatpic.png
    - create an XML file with the description I already provided and change the URL to http://someniceserver/ipphonestuff/neatpic.png
    Voila.

  • Cannot generate GIF file into PDF file

    Use Acrobat 8 professional to create a PDF file from html. However the GIF image is not generated in the PDF file. JPG file is OK. All the html, jpg and gif files are in the same directory. The GIF image can be viewed if the html file is opened by IE.
    Here is my html file:

    All the HTML and GIF files are under the same local directory. If I use IE to view the HTML file, the GIF images are loaded and displayed. The page can be printed into a PDF file with Adobe PDF writer (I thought it should be Acrobat Distiller 8). All the images (GIF and JPG) are printed too.
    However, when I use "Convert current web page to an Adobe PDF file" in the IE tool bar or "Create a PDF" in the Acrobat tool bar, the GIF images are not built into the PDF. The JPG images in the same directory are built. It is strange.
