Elements Editor from Organizer

When using Elements 8 or 11 and trying to open a photo in Organizer to Editor I get a message Error Code 150.30 requiring the computer to be shut off and restarted.  this doesn't work either.

  • Elements 11freezes from Organize to Edit.  HELP!!!

What am I doing wrong?  I have loaded photos into Organize but I cannot transfer from Organize to Edit without the whole system freezing up.  The cursor is a hand... I can't even get that to work....and then I can't close the page.  I just purchased (a download) this upgrade from Elements 6.  That wasn't so terribly user-friendly, but Elements 11 is a nightmare!  HELP???

Try making a direct shortcut for the Organizer and Editor. You can then launch the programs directly from the desktop bypassing the welcome screen. This is generally better as the welcome screen leaves background processes running.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
To launch, try right-clicking on the new desktop icons and choose “Run As Administrator” which often improves stability.
Then make a direct shortcut for the Editor in a similar manner.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
    "C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
N.B. navigate to Program Files on 32 bit systems.
To launch, try right-clicking on the new desktop icons and choose “Run As Administrator” which often improves stability. Launch both apps from the desktop and keep them open. Then try going from Organizer to Editor.

  • PSE 9: Cannot open certain raw files in editor from Organizer.  Can directly tho.

I can open my CR2 (Canon raw for 50D) files from the Elements 9 Editor.   But when I try to save, the "Save as Version Set" is grayed out even tho the photo is in the Organizer.  Conversely, when I try to open a CR2 file from the Organizer, I cannot.  If I drag it to the Editor window, I get message that the file is the wrong type of file - the message one would expect for an unsupported raw file format.
I've been using Elements 9 successfully since October.  This is new behavior in the last week (since I returned from 3 week vacation with 3000 new photos).   I cannot pin this to any newly loaded software (don't have any) nor correlate it to any other event.  Occasionally, the file will open in Camera Raw from the Organizer, but not usually, and then not again for awhile.  I've repaired and compacted.  I uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect.  I applied the 9.0.3 update - again to no effect.  I've rebooted a few times, again with no effect.  I did have PSE7 installed (and have had so for 2 years), but uninstalled that, hoping (vainly) for an effect.
In the process of proofing this post, I did a bit more experimenting.  I find that ALL my 20D Canon Raw files work as they should (open in Camera Raw, etc.).  And, I find that all my 50D Canon Raw files taken before the trip work as they should.  However, the files from ONE DAY ONLY on the trip exhibit this behavior. The only difference is the trip files all were off-loaded to a laptop, then transferred to my desktop (via ethernet, not wireless), the same as all other day's photos.   Subsequent loading directly from compact flash card to my desktop results in being able to edit the files from the Organizer just fine.  I've checked permissions and all users have full permissions.
The laptop and desktop are both Windows 7 (completely current).
I don't really have any ideas.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I think PSE6 will not be able to import/open files from Nikon D7000 as support has been added in recent ACR updates which are not available for PSE8 and below.

  • Can't access Photoshop Elements 12 from Organizer

I am using Adobe Premiere Elements 13 for video and using the organizer that came with it.  I also edit photos in the organizer with my Photoshop Elements 12.  However, when I click on edit from the organizer it wants me to buy Photoshop Elements 13 or try it for 30 days.  How can I use my Photoshop Elements 12 for photo editing from the organizer?

    Hi,
Each version of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements are designed to work independently from other versions. That is why Adobe sell the package with both applications at a reduced cost.
You could set up your version 13 organizer to use Photoshop Elements 12 editor as a supplementary editor - see Edit -> Preferences -> Editing. Then, when you are in the Elements 13 organizer and want to edit a photo, you would select Editor -> External Editor.
However, there are a few problems that you need to be aware of. The Photoshop Elements 12 editor will only talk to a Elements 12 organizer so you may have to uncheck the "Include in Elements organizer" option when saving in the editor. The new image will not, by default, appear in your Elements 13 organizer - you may be able to use watch folders. The new image will not appear in a version stack - you could manually stack it.

  • Preferences stopping Photoshop Elements Editor from opening

I have Photoshop Elements 5.0 (with the 5.0.2 update installed) on Windows 7 and for a while I couldn't get it to open, I'd click on the shortcut and the start-up window thing would open (the thing with the patents and 'registered to...' etc), but it would always stop responding when it got to "Scanning for presets". I found the solution to this problem on another thread, which was to delete the preferences file from the Photoshop folders. After doing this I can open the Editor again and it works perfectly right up until I stop working, then the next time I try to open the Editor I get the same problem, which can again be temporarily fixed by deleting the preferences file- so basially I know the problem is with the preferences.
I know I could just delete the preferences file every time I wanted to use Photoshop and it would only be a minor irritance but ideally I'd like to fix it properly. Does anyone have any ideas?

Try running the compatibility tool. Choose Find & Fix problems under the Troubleshooting Heading via the control panel or see tutorial.

  • Elements 12 editor will not open from Organizer

Problem started about three weeks ago.
When I am in Adobe elements organizer and try to bring a photo into adobe elements editor it will say that it is going to open up the editor for about a minute then it will never open the editor. It will do this no matter if I right click on the picture to edit, click the edit button at the bottom of the screen, or if I go to the context menu and click edit. The adobe editor will open and I can manually open a file into it form the adobe editor program but the the editor use to work just by right clicking on the picture and selecting edit. I have checked the preferences in organizer and adobe elements editor is the only one listed not external editor is checked.  I tried to add adobe elements editor as the external editor to see if I could get it too work that way but the program will not allow me to do that. I have also tried the ctrl - shift - alt and clear the settings and that solution does not work either. I have tried restarting the PC, uninstall and reinstall, and installed any or all updates to the program and OS. Why has this stopped working?

Two suggestions:  the first one is a workaround. You just have to drill down your program file tree to Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer and find the .exe file - the one specifically for Organizer, not Elements.  Make a shortcut to that file on your desktop and it will open Organizer. The second suggestion resolved the problem altogether for me. I actually called Dell and after working with several different techs over several different days, I talked to a tech in premium support who was excellent. I discovered from them that it is actually a problem with the windows system files. I have 8.1.  I went through a "refresh" on my computer which rebuilt all the files. Then reinstalled Adobe as well as my other programs again and Photoshop Elements Organizer works from the standard desktop shortcut.

You need to keep the keys pressed for several seconds. Close down Elements. Hold down the CtrlShiftAlt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Programs folder. Keep holding down all three keys until you get the settings option. You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?Click on YesThen wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences.  You should see something like this (example PSE9)  http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-4880527-258346/320-111/Setting s-pop-upPSE9.png

  • Switching from Organizer to Editor in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and Adobe Premiere Elements 12

Can not switch from organizer mode to editor mode in both adobe photoshop elements and adobe premiere elements 12.

Convert the songs to .wav format using Apples instructions here - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1550 and import the .wav file to your slide show. Note this may not work if they are DRM protected (that would be stuff purchased from Apple prior to spring 2007).

  • Can not switch from organizer mode to editor mode in adobe premiere elements 12.

After successfully installing and registering my new adobe premiere elements 12 and had created the organizer, I still can't switch from organizer mode to editor mode to edit a file (photo).

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated 12 to 12.1 Update via a project's Help Menu/Update? If not, please do so.
    You wrote

Just how are you trying to do that...
    a. Are you in the Elements Organizer 12 workspace, right clicking the photo's thumbnail, and selecting Edit with Premiere Elements Editor
    or
    b. Something else.
Is there an error message that results when you try to switch "from organizer mode to editor mode" and cannot?
When you mention "....to edit a file (photo)", I wonder if you are not trying to get to Photoshop Elements 12 Editor, not Premiere Elements 12 Editor, from the Elements Organizer 12.
Please supply a step by step of what you are doing so that we can be sure that we are in sync on the details that we are using to work through your issue.
    Thank you.

I would suggest un-installing via the Windows control panel and then download again and re-install. Try an alternative link and validate with your 24 digit serial number - click here for PSE downloads

The Elements 12 shortcut can't find the Elements12.0.exe file so the program will not load.  I can load the editor from its .exe file but not the organizer.

  • Help move photos from editor to organizer

This should be an easy task and I am familiar with editing a photo taken from the organizer and then returning it to an album or folder.  My problem is with a photo sent to me as an attachment to an email in another program (often Picasa).  This photo can be opened in Elements Editor and worked with in the usual fashion but I am stumped on how to then move it in my Organizer and appropriate folder or album.  Would appreciate some advice.

    1. When you finish editing use File >> Save As; then choose a folder where you want it saved.
    2. To add to an album drag an album icon on to the thumbnail in Organizer.

Did you buy the Editor only version? Here's the product comparison - Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 - Buying guide.
[EDIT] Actually it seems you can ONLY buy the Editor only version via the App Store. Here's an explanation why (scroll down to the fourth section) - Purchases through Mac App Store FAQ.[/EDIT]
