I signed up with Verizon (moving from Comcast) a few years ago. At that time, I decided not to use Verizon's voicemail option (which was included) because I had a wireless phone base unit voice mail system that would not show that I had messages if I used Verizon's. That is no longer the case, and I also need to be able to allow people to leave messages while I am on the phone. Lo and behold: There is now a significant additional charge for Verizon's voice mail. I am turning it down and finding an alternative solution.
This reminds me of what has started to happen on the cable tv end. Have you noticed the appearance of a channel called EPIX? I've started to see movies that I used to see on HBO and other movie channels only being shown there. Lo and behold again: Another additional charge. There seems to be a trend of value being sucked out of the services we sign up for and placed in "additional charge" buckets.
I will need to look at this closely at renewal time.

As far as what is carried on HBO vs EPIX that really has nothing to do with Verizon. HBO and EPIX provide the same feeds to all the carriers. As far as phone and voice mail... take a look at Google Voice. It can take care of what you need, route all calls to any phone you choose and it's free.

How to pass field value from popup window to oninput processing of other pg

Hi,
I want to pass a field value from the popup window to oninput processing of main page ( from where popup window is triggered). and need to close the popup window. How to do it ?
In the popup window's oninputprocessing, im doing some validation checks. If it passes all the validations, then only the control shd come to main page ..else it should stay in popup window only .

you can use java script to pass the value and close your popup window. use the following code.
in your popup window:
function passData(h1)
 window.opener.document.getElementById('var1').value = h1 ;
 window.close();
then call this function when you finish your validations.
in your main page layout create an input field with id as passed in the function above "var1".
In the value attribute give it your variable as follow:
<htmlb:inputField id = "var1"
 value = "<%= var2 %>"
 visible = "false" />
"var2" will be assigned the value from your popup window.

Anyhow, maybe you should implement a service which returns the values (from the service profile). This would be more clean for accessing global values.

Here is my requirement ,
Multiselect List Box should display Simulator_Type Values
Simulator_Type Values Values to search for in the column simulator type
AC - small signal AC
HB - Carrier HB
SP - Linear Noise SP - L

ET - Envelope Transient ET

Hello,
It seems to me like you don’t really understand how multi select items work in APEX. This type of items (we are talking about multi-select list, checkbox and the shuttle item) don’t really returned multiple values. They returned a single value that contains multiple segments, each include one valid option. By default, each segment is delimited with a colon (:). In your case it means that if you chose two values from your static LOV, the returned value will look similar to “HB:DC” (or any other combination of options). Now you need to work with this value.
The way your RFA_SIMULATOR_TYPE column build, you can’t really work with the multi-select value, as you’ll never find a match to it, as this is actually an artificial value that only exist as a result of your multi-select.
Regarding the new query you are trying, you wrote yourself that “i am getting the data with all the simulator_type select”, and that is correct. Where in this query you are using your filter (:P1_SIMULATOR_TYPE)? This is not the way to go.
You need to break the compound value returned by your multi-select items, and work individually with each segment. You can do that in two ways. The simple one, as I already suggested, is to add another column that will contain only the code describing the simulator (similar to the returned value of the static LOV). In this case, using the instr() function you are checking if the column value is included in your filter (it’s a revered angle – you are actually checking if the single column value is included in your filter and not if the filter included in your column).
The second option is a bit more complicated and it involves slicing the filter itself and dynamically build your query, using the “SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query)” report option. In this case we are going to use the APEX built-in function APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE(). The following is a very simple code example that you’ll need to adapt to your scenario:

Calculating a value from a item after pressing a button

Hi all
I would like to calculate the value of an item (highest available value in db +1) using a pl/sql-function after pressing a button. The result depends on an other item on the same page. The value of this item is not known while rendering the page. The result should be inserted in the item before saving/validate all other items from this page.
Part of SQL-Script for one possibility :

Crystal Reports 10, Want to pass values from subreports to main report

Is there a way to just share values out of subreports.
The reason I ask is that I am having problems pulling the correct information in one subreport so I'd like to use 2 subreports to pull out Billable hours on one and Billed Hours on another and then add them together to display on the main report.

In your sub report
I the formula editor create a shared variable then create the same variable in your main report.
EG
IN your SUB
Create new formular called tothrs etcu2026..
whileprinting records;
shared numbervar tothrs: sum({table.fieldname}]
In Your Main Report
whileprinting records;
shared numbervar tothrs
this passes the value from your sub to the main, check help for different types of format as the one above is only for a number there are others for time & date etc..

How to retrieve multiple values from a DB Adapter to a Web Service

Hello,
I'm creating a login WS that receives the username and password and returns the user status, full name and a set of permissions (the number of permissions varies among users).
In order to do that i've created a DBAdapter that is calling a PL/SQL procedure. This DBAdapter is connected to the login Web Service through a mediator.
I have two problems:
1 - I don't know the type of variable that the PL\SQL procedure should return. Like I said I need to retrieve an undefined number of values from a table (user permissions). How can I do this inside a PL\SQL procedure? What kind of structure should i return?
2 - How can i assign a multiple value variable (the permission variable) in the mediator? Is the mediator going to identify that this is variable is multiple valued and add automatically a for-each statement?
The Oracle DB version im using is the 11.1.0.7.0 and the Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.0.

I've created a userdefined type and sucessfully retrievied from the PL\SQL procedure multiple values. I have also mapped this values with the web service.
Even though everything's working fine i would like to understand if it is also possible to use the XMLType to return these values. I ask this cause I don't no if by returning a XMLType i can explicitly map the XML elements inside the mediator component.
If possible what are the main advantages/disavantages between using XMLType and Userdefined Types?

How to export data from Elimination Value dimension member by HAL HFM adapter?

Good day! Is it possible to export HFM 4.0.5 data with HAL from the <Elimination> Value dimension member? In 3.* versions it wasn't and there is Known Issue in the "HFM 3.* Adapter Read Me" file: "The Hyperion Financial Management Adapter exports data using the <entity currency> Value dimension member. The documentation erroneously states that there is a port available for the Value dimension" But there is not such point in the same file for HFM 4.0.5 AND there is Value port in the HFM 4.0.5. You can create a workflow variable and extract the value from the people or group field
Build the URL using as follows

Pass value from webdynpro ABAP to service "Sicf"

ITunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later AND Your iPhone has never been backed up to this computer AND always Not Responding

First: I get the message telling me that "iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."
Second: In the Summary Tab under Backups, iTunes is telling me that my iPhone has never been backed up to my computer - which is not true. It's also telling me that my iPhone has never been backed up to iCloud. Again, not true. Although my backups are all missing from iTunes, I can see what I think is them in their folder: C:\Users\*your user name here*\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync.
Third: iTunes is SLOOOOOOOOW. It takes nearly ten minutes - sometimes more - to launch, and when it does, it's constantly not responding. It seems every time I touch something it stops responding.
Fourth: I've been searching this "help" forum for a solution, and I've seen many other references, yet the only suggestion I've seen from someone from Apple is a reference to a solution that is over 2 years old - and DOESN'T WORK for anyone I can see who's tried it!
I've tried everything I could think of, and that others have suggested, including:
Uninstalling and re-installing iTunes
Ensuring I have the latest version of iTunes
Re-setting sync history
Renaming my Backup folder at the path above, and letting iTunes create a new one
Running around the house whilst pulling my hair and yelling obscenities
None helped. At all.
Hmmm... Been a devoted Apple/iOS guy for years, but maybe it's time to switch to Android?

I've resolved the issue with iTunes constantly not responding. It's a bit embarrassing. I had a DVD in the drive that was corrupt, and once I was able to remove it - BAM - iTunes ran perfectly.
I'm still getting the Sync Services message, and my backups are still not showing in iTunes.
Getting there.... I hope!

Dropdown List binding from web-service storing the reference not the value

Hi,
In my human task form, I have a dropdown field who's value list has to be derived from a web-service exposing a table holding the list of values.
It works perfectly fine for the end-user, as in when a user selects a value, say 'XYZ' in step-1 the next user in step-2 is able to see the value as 'XYZ'.
However, when I check the payload of the the composite instance in enterprise manager after the instance has left step-1, I do not see the value 'XYZ' in the payload XML; instead I see a string oracle.jbo.Key[2 0 ]. It seems like BPM is storing some sort of a reference to that value that it resolves at run-time thus displaying 'XYZ'. As the user changes the value from the list, the array seem to be changing like [3 0],[1 0],etc.
Is this how it is expected to behave ? Doesn't seem to be right to me as for all other fields it promptly stores the actual value in the payload and not any sort of reference
Here's what I did:
1. Added a Data Control of type web-service and provided the wsdl link for the same. The wizard asks for the operations which in my case is a simple 'select'
2. From the data control corresponding to the human-task data model, I dragged the field and selected Single Choice>ADF Select One Choice control
3. Edit binding page opens where the data-control of the web-service is enabled and has the option for providing the input for the web-service
4. Click ok and the next screen displays 'edit list binding' for the field dragged from the human task payload. Here I add the data control's output object (iterator). Then I provide the data mapping where I define the ID field identifying the value user would select. The display attribute has description of the id.
