EM12c - MSSQL Plugin repository mismatch - agent blocked
Hello All,
I'm trying to deploy a simple MSSQL 2005 & 2005 standalone insltance to the EM12c.
I've deployed the Microsoft SQl Server plugin 12.1.0.2 on the Management Server as well as to the the Management agent on my host.
Yeah I've gotten the following errors whihc suggests that its not been deployed on the agent?
Thanks for advice.

Hi,
I started testing with discovery in my plug-in today, but now there seems to be an issue due to plugin version mismatch (see log messages below).
In my deploy to test discovery I deployed the plugin on the server and ran the discovery UI in OEM. I didn't deploy to the agent that time.
Later I wanted to redeploy a new version and tried to deploy to the server again, and from here it started failing.
Below is part of the logfile ($OMS_HOME/sysman/log) which I think indicates the root cause.

Informatica Error: Repository mismatch
Hi There,
Our server has been migrated from IBM to AT&T.
So they exported our production informatica repository and imported it into new environment, So testing is going on.
I changed database connection strings of informatica session of source and target and ran the workflow.
I got the below error:
Error: Repository mismatch. Integration service is connected to repository [DII_REP_PRD] in domain [Domain_pl1us123] with repository GID [xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx]. Client is trying to connect to repository[DII_REP_PRD] in domain [] with repository GID [xxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx].
Any ideas pls?
Thanks,
RaghuThanks for the reply.
1. They have exported the complete Informatica repository from IBM server to AT&T server.
2. Yes you are right, I have changed connection info on connection tab in workflow manager.
How we connect to informatica repository(AT&T) is:
They have created a new domain.
After giving username and passwd, we have to select the new domain and say connect.
1. our informatica wkfs are scheduled through DAC. When I run a DAC plan it was running fine.
2. When I run wkfs manually, it was giving error: How i fixed is:
Goto Workflow tab on top, and say edit the workflow. Go to integration service, Here we have two services (IBM and AT&T),
select AT&T service and save the changes. Now it worked.
Thanks,
Raghu -
Establish Database connection to connect to OEM Repository from Agents
I have a requirement to establish Database connection from Agent through Plug-in.
Ex:
My plug-in metadata will have a perl script which gets executed in each individual agents and it should connect to the OEM Repository database to execute a package.
Your Help is Appreciable.You would have to take in all of the information needed to connect to the database as instance properties for your target type. So each time someone creates an instance of your target type, they'd have to enter the connection details for the repository database.
The specifics of what are needed should be in the extensibility guide where the SQL fetchlet is documented. -
Delete folder/file in Repository may be blocked by user
All,
I am trying to delete a folder or file from the repository and I am unable to do this as maybe some user may have this file on his/her local workspace. when I try deleting this from the Repository tab, I get an error saying that a workspace has this file. any idea how I can delete a folder or file even if someone has a local copy ?
thank you in advance>
I want to do maintenance on my mail server where I want to delete all existing log files to save the existing space, included in the directory xxx/oracle/product/10.1.2/yyyy/apps/Apache/Apache/logs/
In the directory I found the files as :
error_log.1253534400
error_log.1252195200
mod_oc4j.1660.shm.sem
httpd.pid
Is the error_log.1253534400 as a log file ? and allow the file is deleted ?
whether those files should I delete all ? or even the files are not be deleted?Ans: Yes. you can delete all log files under Apache/logs folder. new files wil be generated automatically

Is mssql developver edition license geo blocked
hi,
We have a mssql developer edition license and used it for development and our product demonstrations.
this license was purchased in india. Can i use the same license in USA for our demo setup.?
Regards,
Kamalhi,
I already spoken to Microsoft licensing support and was redirected to forums. If i need the answer from forums for future reference, where do i need to post.
Regards,
Kamal
Hello,
Its highly unlikely that this could have happened.Anyways as Olaf said licensing is completely different from technical part and we I have no experience with licensing and its knit bits .Probably it comes under legal part.So instead of we giving any
tentative answer as per our surrounding and infrastructure ,won't always be applicable to you.In my firm we have volume licensing which is not your case .
Anyhow just wait may be some MSFT CSG guys can reply more clearly on it or someone from Microsoft .But i am sure they will ask you to get in touch with local MS licensing

MSSQL 2005 SSIS SQL Agent Job - Process Task Hang
I am trying to setup a schedule for a SSIS package within MS SQL 2005 SQL Agent Job queue with as a File System source, with configuration files containing passwords as it is encrypted sensitive with password.
Step#1 [data collect] runs ok. Step #3 [email results] runs ok.
Step#2 of the SSIS package is a Process Task which calls a batch file, opening a console application, and calls a MS ACCESS macro for some queries. This process hangs - it runs on until i stop it, but does not generate any errors. Within the Task Manager,
I can see an instance of the command and MSACCESS, but the macro does not run.
I am running Win7Pro [32bit], MSSQL2005, MSVS2005, and MSACCESS2010. The SSIS Package Run64BitRuntime was TRUE by default, even though I'm on a 32bit system. I have set this to FALSE.
The package runs from within BIDS, from DTUtil, from the Package Execute tool, and from the Windows Scheduler. I have enabled permissions for the SQLAgent to the local file system where the exe is stored. I have not setup a proxy account to run the task
under.
Would it be a permission issue if the job can read the batch file and instantiate MSACESS, but not launch the macro within?It is a permissions issue. MSACCESS is being run with local admin when run outside of the SQLAgent. When MSACCESS is instantiated via the SQLAgent it wont run.
I will need to setup a proxy account. -
OMS, Repository, Agent Grid upgrade
Newbie here and will try to explain as best as I can.
So I installed Grid 10.2.0.2 on Windows XP system. I have used the patchset 12.0.4.0 to upgrade OMS, repository and agent. I have followed the documentation on how to do this. First I patched OMS by setting the environment variable to C:\OracleHomes\OMS10g and then clicked on setup oui installed the patch. I did the same for the Agent and change the env var to the agent home and patched the agent. According to the documentation the OMS and repository are upgraded together. So after both homes were upgraded, I open a command prompt to see the status of the oms agent and the management agent using "emctl status agent" and I see the following information.
OMS
Agent Version : 10.1.0.5.0
OMS Version : Unknown
Agent
Agent Version : 10.2.0.4.0
OMS Version : 10.2.0.4.0
I have also updated the database to 10.2.0.1 (orginally 10.1.0.5) and then patched to 10.2.0.4 and it show this when I connect to SQLPlus, so that seemed to work.
So why is the OMS agent showing up as 10.1.0.5 even though I assumed it was patched. Is this normal or did something fail during upgrade.
ThanksOK, I guess that makes sense.
Yes, I installed 10.2.0.1 into a separate home and used DBUA to upgrade the repository DB from 10.1.0.5 to 10.2.0.1. I then patched it to 10.2.0.4 and again used DBUA and so I am assuming my repository would be at 10.2.0.4 and that's why I was asking why the command prompt see it as 10.1.0.5.
The home directories I have is
C:\OracleHomes\agent10g, oms10g, db10g, oradata- This is for grid
C:\Oracle\10.2.0\db_1- is the 10.2.0.4 database.
The other reason I am asking about this is that I am using the agentdownload.vbs to install the management agent on a few systems. Before the upgrade I was able to successful install it using the 10.2.0.1 and when I upgraded to 12.0.4.0, I noticed I now had three folders 10.2.0.1, 10.2.0.2 and 10.2.0.4 that the agentdownload.vbs reside in. Since I am at 10.2.0.4 I chose to use that vbs file. I tried it on one of systems, but it doesn't seem to work and is asking about securing the agent. I made the necessary changes with the env variable, but it seems to never makes a connection my management server. I then tried to use the 10.2.0.2 vbs file and it works just fine. So I am thinking during my all of trials of getting grid and DB upgraded to 10.2.0.4 that something is amiss. So that's why I am question the versioning on the command prompt.
Thanks -
I have a system where the agent has been blocked by the OMS service. After restarting the agent and running the resynch agent job (Agent -> Resynchronisation) the agent remains blocked with the following errors in the job log: -
resyncState: IN executeCommand

Starting resync RESYNC_20130409120523 for agent lsomoal01a:3872
Getting list of all the Targets to remove from the the agent - lsomoal01a:3872

Getting list of all the Targets from the repository for the agent - lsomoal01a:3872
Pushing list of plugins to the agent
Promoting list of targets to the agent
Re-deploying Metric Extensions to the targets
Saving target collections to the agent
Cleaning state on the agent
Exception in resync: null
resyncState: resync of agent failed.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?
Regards,
Steve DennisCAUSE
The message [No route to host] corresponds to a network host name resolution issue from the OMS host to the target agent's host.
SOLUTION
See the following reference for comprehensive network diagnostics for EM components:
Note 428665.1 Enterprise Manager: Installation Requirements and a Checklist for Configuring and Testing Network Connections between EM Component Hosts
1. Ensure the OMS is able to successfully resolve the agent's host name.
$ping <agenthostname.domain>
$nslookup <agenthostname.domain>
$nslookup <ipadress_returned_by_previous_command>
2. Ensure that the data returned by the last command is exactly the same as that returned by the other commands, and as shown in the console.
3. Once Agent host name resolution is successful, then proceed with agent resync operation from the console. -

HTTP error for content repository
Dear gurus,
we defined a content repository to store images (Employee photos) in our HR instance (ECC 6). we set customizing for Sap Archive Link and "document type" (HRICOLFOTO). We followed suggestions of this link: [http://www.sd-solutions.com/documents/SDS_Employee_Photos_v4.7.html|http://www.sd-solutions.com/documents/SDS_Employee_Photos_v4.7.html]. When we try to store an image (JPG file) using OAAD transaction code we get "HTTP error: 500 Internal Server Error". Again using CSADMIN transaction code to test HTTP server assigned to content repository we get the same message. Work process trace file is attached below. Thanks for your help.

Regards.
:: VittorioTheres a button beside CSADMIN that looks like a balance. You can use that to check... but as it is a R/3 Database repository it might not be there.
Now, you said
When we try to store an image (JPG file) using OAAD transaction code we get "HTTP error: 500 Internal Server Error". Again using CSADMIN transaction code to test HTTP server assigned to content repository
How can you be calling a HTTP repository when you are actually storing the data in the R/3 Database? That doesn't make sense to me.
Can you explain your full landscape?
regards
Juan -
Upgrade of database with GC repository resides
I have GC 10.2.0.3 running with the repository stored in a 9.2.0.8 database.
I would like to upgrade the database to 10.2.0.3 using dbua if possible. When the dbua sees an upgrade to 10.2 it creates a new SYSMAN schema, but I already have one that the Grid Control install created when I used the option "install into an existing database."
I've searched MetaLink on how to do this, and created a SR but am having trouble getting support to understand what I'm attempting.
I'm open to anything, create a new database, etc. The only thing I want to be sure of is to not loose the information that I've already established in Grid, and I'm assuming it's stored in the SYSMAN schema.Totally fresh clean 10gR2 database on a different host and platform.
2.3 Export/Import
If the source and destination database is non-10g, then export/import is the only option for cross platform database migration.
For performance improvement of export/import, set higher value for BUFFER and RECORDLENGTH . Do not export to NFS as it will slow down the process considerably.
Direct path can be used to increase performance. Note – As EM uses VPD, conventional mode will only be used by Oracle on tables where policy is defined.
Also User running export should have EXEMPT ACCESS POLICY privilege to export all rows as that user is then exempt from VPD policy enforcement. SYS is always exempted from VPD or Oracle Label Security policy enforcement, regardless of the export mode, application, or utility that is used to extract data from the database.
2.3.1 Prepare for Export/Import
* Mgmt_metrics_raw partitions check
select table_name,partitioning_type type,
partition_count count, subpartitioning_type subtype from
dba_part_tables where table_name = 'MGMT_METRICS_RAW'
If MGMT_METRICS_RAW has more than 3276 partitions please see Bug 4376351 – This bug is fixed in 10.2. Old partitions should be dropped before export/import to avoid this issue – This will also speed up the export/import process.
To drop old partitions - run exec emd_maintenance.partition_maintenance
(This needs shutdown of OMS and set job_queue_processes to 0 during the time drop partitions is run) – Please refer to EM Performance Best practices document for more details on usage.
Workaround to avoid bug 4376351 is to export mgmt_metrics_raw in conventional mode – This is needed only if drop partition is not run. Note - drop old partitions run is highly recommended.
* Shutdown OMS instances and prepare for migration
Shutdown OMS, set job queue_processes to 0 and remove dbms jobs using commands
connect /as sysdba
alter system set job_queue_processes=0;
connect sysman/<password>
@ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_remove_dbms_jobs.sql
2.3.2 Export
Before running export make sure that NLS_LANG variable is same as database characterset. For example after running this query
SQL> select value from nls_database_parameters where PARAMETER='NLS_CHARACTERSET';
VALUE
WE8ISO8859P1
Then NLS_LANG environment variable should be set to AMERICAN_ AMERICA. WE8ISO8859P1
* Export data
exp full=y constraints=n indexes=n compress=y file=fullem102_1.dmp log=fullem102exp_1.log
Provide system username and password when prompted.
Verify the log file and make sure that no characterset conversion happens (this line should not be present in log file “possible charset conversion”)
* Export without data and with constraints
exp full=y constraints=y indexes=y rows=n file=fullem102_2.dmp log=fullem102exp_2.log
Provide system username and password when prompted
2.3.3 Import
Before running import make sure that NLS_LANG variable is same as database characterset.
* Run RepManager to drop target repository (if target database has EM repository installed)
cd ORACLE_HOME/ sysman/admin/emdrep/bin
RepManager repository_host repository_port repository_SID -sys_password password_for_sys_account -action drop
* Pre-create the tablespaces and the users in target database
@ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_create_tablespaces.sql
@ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_create_repos_user.sql
@ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_pre_import.sql
For first 2 scripts, we need to provide input arguments when prompted or you can provide them on command line for example
@ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_create_tablespaces.sql MGMT_TABLESPACE <path>/mgmt.dbf <size of mgmt.dbf> <aotoextend size> MGMT_ECM_DEPOT_TS <path>/mgmt_ecm_depot1.dbf <size of mgmt_ecm_depot1.dbf> <aotoextend size> MGMT_TABLESPACE <path>/mgmt.dbf <size of mgmt.dbf> <aotoextend size>
@/scratch/nagrawal/OracleHomes/oms10g/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_create_repos_user.sql sysman <sysman password> MGMT_TABLESPACE TEMP CENTRAL ON
* Import data -
imp constraints=n indexes=n FROMUSER=sysman TOUSER=sysman buffer=2097152 file=fullem102_1.dmp log=fullem102imp_1.log
* Import without data and with constraints -
imp constraints=y indexes=y FROMUSER=sysman TOUSER=sysman buffer=2097152 rows=n ignore=y file=fullem102_2.dmp log=fullem102imp_2.log
Verify the log file and make sure that no characterset conversion happens (this line should not be present in log file “possible charset conversion”)
2.3.4 Post Import EM Steps
* Please refer to Section 3.1 for Post Migration EM Specific Steps
3 Post Repository Migration Activities
3.1 Post Migration EM Steps
Following EM specific Steps should be carried out post migration -
* Recompile all invalid objects in sysman schema using
connect sysman/<password>
@ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_recompile_invalid.sql
* Run post plugin steps to recompile any invalids, create public synonyms, create other users, enable VPD policy, repin packages-
connect sysman/<password>
@ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_create_synonyms.sql
@ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_post_import.sql
Provide <ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql for em_sql_root
SYSMAN for em_repos_user
MGMT_TABLESPACE for em_tablespace_name
TEMP for em_temp_tablespace_name
Note – The users created by admin_post_import will have same passwords as username.
Check for invalid objects – compare source and destination schemas for any discrepancy in counts and invalids.
* Following queues are not enabled after running admin_post_import.sql as per EM bug 6439035, enable them manually by running
connect sysman/<password>
exec DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE( queue_name=> 'MGMT_TASK_Q');
exec DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE( queue_name=> 'MGMT_PAF_RESPONSE_Q');
exec DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE( queue_name=> 'MGMT_PAF_REQUEST_Q');
exec DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE( queue_name=> 'MGMT_LOADER_Q');
* Please check for context using following query
connect sysman/<password>
select * from dba_context where SCHEMA='SYSMAN';
If any of following context is missing create them using
connect sysman/<password>
create or replace context storage_context sing storage_ui_util_pkg;
create or replace context em_user_context sing setemusercontext;
* Partition management
Check if necessary partitions are created so that OMS does not run into problems for loading into non-existent partitions (This problem can come only if there are gap of days between export and import) –
exec emd_maintenance.analyze_emd_schema('SYSMAN');
This will create all necessary partitions up to date.
* Submit EM dbms jobs
Reset back job_queue_processes to original value and resubmit EM dbms jobs
connect /as sysdba
alter system set job_queue_processes=10;
connect sysman/<password>
@ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_submit_dbms_jobs.sql
* Update OMS properties and startup OMS
Update emoms.properties to reflect the migrated repository - oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepConnectDescriptor
Update host name, port with the correct value and start the OMS.
* Relocate “Management Services and Repository” target
If “Management Services and repository” target needs to be migrated to the destination host, delete the old "Management Services and Repository" target. Add it again with same name "Management Services and Repository" on agent running on new machine.
* Run following sql to verify the repository collections are enabled for emrep target
SELECT
target_name,
metric_name,
task.task_id,
task.interval,
task.error_message,
trunc((mgmt_global.sysdate_utc-next_collection_timestamp )/1440) delay
from mgmt_collection_metric_tasks mtask,
mgmt_collection_tasks task,
mgmt_metrics met,
mgmt_targets tgt
where met.metric_guid = mtask.metric_guid AND
tgt.target_guid = mtask.target_guid AND
mtask.task_id = task.task_id(+) AND
met.source_type > 0 AND
met.source != ' '
AND tgt.target_type='oracle_emrep'
ORDER BY mtask.task_id;
This query should result same records in both source and destination database. If you find any of collections missing in destination database, run following to schedule them in destination database
DECLARE
traw RAW(16);
tname VARCHAR2(256);
ttype VARCHAR2(64);
BEGIN
SELECT target_name, target_type, target_guid
INTO tname, ttype, traw
FROM mgmt_targets
WHERE target_type = 'oracle_emrep';
mgmt_admin_data.add_emrep_collections(tname,ttype,traw);
END;
* Discover/relocate Database and database Listener targets
Delete the old repository database target and listener and rediscover the target database and listener in EM -
EM12C - Add repoitory database as database target
Hello all,
Apologies if this sounds like a stupid question.
I have just installed EM12C OMS and repository database on the same server (Linux x86_64). The installation is successful and I can access the cloud control and see preconfigured targets (from the same host).
However, I am not able to add the reporitory database as database target. Is this expected? I remember in grid control 10g, I was able to configure reporitory database as a database target.
In 12c, I tried "Add targets manually" or "auto-discovery", but none of them show either the repository database or ist listener as target.
Thanks in advance.
p.s. I have also successfully added 12c agent as part of EM12c installation and the agent is running successfully on the host.You can use emcli add_target

How to unblock flash player when you accidently block a website from playing video clips.
My PC has Firefox 30.0 browser installed on it. The Adobe Flash Player is also of the latest version. I accidently blocked the video clip that I wanted to watch from a University website and now I can't access any of the videos on that website. I have no problem with any other website. I have tried the solutions discussed on the forum and none of these have worked. I wonder if someone can kindly help me in having this issue addressed please.
How did you block the plugin?
If you blocked it via Firefox and not via an extension then you should see a Lego block icon on the left end of the location bar that you can click.
You can inspect and manage the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:
*Click the "[[Site Identity Button|Site Identity Button]]" (globe/padlock) on the location bar
*Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
*Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab
If you blocked content via an extension like Adblock Plus then you need to click its toolbar icon to check what content is being blocked. -
How is the Mailing Agent permit generated on a mail.dat
The business I work for has multiple permits, and they all appear to be associated with our CRID. I can change the Permit Holder's permit as needed, but I can't seem to change the Mailing Agent permit, and I'm not sure where the information is pulled from. The default permit that always appears on our submitted postage statements is our mailing permit that cannot mail First-Class or Non-profit, and I need to change it to our permit that can. At first I was expecting that I could switch this in Postlsoft, but the further I dig, the more it looks like PostalOne! automatically associates a permit number when it sees our CRID or Mailer ID.
Could anyone confirm this or give some assitance? ThanksAccording to PostalOne! Mail.dat tech guide available on RIBBS [https://ribbs.usps.gov/intelligentmail_guides/documents/tech_guides/datspec/PostalOneMailDatTechSpec.pdf]
Mailing Agent (Preparer). This identifies the organization that prepared the mailing and/or delivered it to the postal service for mailing. This information is linked to the useru2019s login account, and is not represented in the Mail.dat file.
To attach a Mail.dat file to a preparer permit, the PostalOne! System looks at the User ID that submitted the file. The system looks at permits linked to the locations that User ID is also linked to. The system looks at the post office of mailing. The system considers finance number association of permits linked to locations to finance number of post office of Mailing. If the system finds more than one permit possibility, system takes first active (type PI) permit (could be any of the linked locations, not necessarily the one that submitted the file). For this reason the attached preparer permit may not be accurate and the user may not be able to fix it.
In the Mailing Agent block on the Postage Statement, the company name and address information found from the associated CRID in the Mail.dat MPA Preparer CRID shall be displayed. If the Mail.dat file MPA Preparer CRID is used, then the preparer permit number, telephone number, email address, or customer number will not be displayed. The submitter of the Mail.dat file may update this CRID. The owner of the CRID may update the name and address information associated with the CRID. If the Mail.dat file MPA Preparer CRID is blank, then the Mailing Agent block will be filled with the name and address information found from the preparer permit attached to the Mail.dat file (see above). The preparer permit number and the associated company name, address, telephone number, and email address will be displayed. The name and address information on this permit may be updated by the postal clerk and will apply to subsequent Mail.dat updates.
