Email encryption 3DES only certificate

We have Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1  Active directory Certificate Authority. We want to encrypt emails
between several organization. For one organization we need to use 3DES encryption only. How i can remove AES encryption from user certificate template copy ?

Hi,
I wasn’t able to find a method to remove an encryption algorithm, although we can change it.
Have you tried to select the encryption algorithm at Trust Center
of Outlook?
To do that, please perform the following steps:
Click File then select Options in Outlook.
In the Trust Center section, click on
Trust Center Settings.
Under E-mail Security settings part, configure encryption algorithms.
Since this is an email encryption issue, I suggest you refer to Exchange or Outlook forum to get professional support.

  • Email encryption limits on iOS 5 ?

    Hello All,
At this time, i'm in a test phase of "E-mail Encryption with iOS 5" ... and i need your experiences/feedback about.
First, small description about my environment:
    -Active Directory Domain,
    -Exchange 2010 SP1 RU2 server,
    -MSFT CA server.
We are using Iphone 4 as mobile device for our employes which are synchronising there email on it.
In an other side, certifcat are deployed and installed to Outlook 2010 for email encryption.
Both system are running fine for a long time ago.
Monday, my boss challenge me : i have to mixe the 2 system --> email encryption on Mobile Device.
    Let's go ...
    - Export certificat (as .pfx files from IE with private key, etc..) = DONE
    - Install certificat on Iphone (by sending it by mail or creating new profile with iPCU tools) = DONE
    - Configuring email profile on Device (using SMIME + encryption ) = DONE
Last step ... do some test !
    1) create new encrypted email : OK
    2) read encrypted email on device: OK
    Easy ..... but :
    3) create email with a picture (from Camera Roll) as attachment and send it with encryption : non OK
--> email is send as non encrpyted .. and picture is not showned in outlook
4)read encrypted email with attachment ( send from outlook 2010) : non OK
--> it seems thaht my echange server is no more accpeting encrypted email ... ah bon ??!
5)forward a email with attchament (.pdf) as encrypted email to my collegue : non OK
--> email is send but is not encrpyted and attach files dissapears ...
A this time, i can ONLY read encrpyted email and create a new one but i can't working with encrypted email.
What about attachment ? forward ? etc...
Have you seen the same problems ?

  • Email encryption software recommendations?

What email encryption software would you recommend for personal use?
Any of the apps offered in the App Store?
    Thanks!

Go to InstantSSL and request a free S/MIME signing certificate. It's valid for a year, only for the address you specify. You'll be prompted to set a revocation password, which you'll need if you ever want to stop the key from being trusted. I suggest you save the password as a secure note item in the keychain.
Click the link in the message you'll receive at that address. A file named "CollectCCC.p7s" will be downloaded in your web browser. Double-click the file. It will open in Keychain Access. Confirm that you want to import the keys it contains.
Two items will be added to the keychain you specify. Both are named "Key from secure.instantssl.com". One is of type  private key and one is of type public key. You'll want to delete those items when the key expires or is revoked.
Quit and relaunch Mail. When you next compose a message from the certified address, you'll have the option to sign it.
The first time you sign a message with the new certificate, you'll be prompted to allow Mail to use it in the keychain. Click  Always Allow.
    Important:
You must quit and relaunch Mail before the certficiate will be recognized.
Mail that is only signed is not encrypted; anyone can read it. The recipient can be reasonably sure that it came unaltered from a person who receives mail at the sender's address. That is not proof of the sender's identity.
To encrypt messages, the recipient must already have gone through a similar setup process, and you must know his or her public key. The key can be sent to you in the clear, attached to a signed message, but again, you have no proof of the sender's identity. All you know is that he can receive mail at the specified address.

  • Possible to determine who can use Email Encryption?

We are looking to license the Email encryption feature on Ironport.  When our reseller asked how many licenses they mentioned that instead of licensing all my users I can license a subset of users, say a department.
We would like to only license a subset of users to be able to use the email encryption.  Is this possible to license just a subset of users?  If so, how do I go about setting up the licensing for just specific users?
    Thank you in advance.
    Joe

    Hey Joe,
This may not be 100% accurate to your requirements.
    But.
The Encryption Key once purchased, added to your device.
You can restrict which users will be able to send out encrypted email through the use of Filters/Content Filters/Policies.
In essence, you can allow a subset of users to be able to send encrypted envelope emails outbound, while other users will only be able to send emails as per normal plain text (or under TLS if you've have that enabled).

  • Ironport Email Encryption及RSA Email Data Loss Prevention在Ironport中分别起哪些作用?

What are the functions do in both Ironport Email Encryption and RSA Email Data Loss Prevention in Ironport?

As noted there is no good solution. If it has never been backed up, then when you restore through iTunes on a computer, all of the information on it will be erased. Restoring it is the only way to get it working again.

  • Experiences sending email with a Secure Certificate

Hopefully this post will save others some of the time it's taken me to discover the following.
_Cause of my confusion with Mail 4.1, Address Book and Keychain Access Utility:_
    1) Address Book shows its "starred ticks" against both my mac.com and me.com email addresses and when clicked these ticks display valid certificate details .... so you'd be forgiven for thinking that you could send digitally signed emails from these addresses ... but you can't ... not until you've taken one of the two options below - and each option has different consequences for your email recipients.
    2) Discussion threads from previous Mac OS X releases suggest you can use iChat Encryption certificates for signing and encrypting emails. I don't think you can do this (anymore). I could make the iChat certificates "Always Trusted" in Snow Leopard's Keychain Access Utility but Mail would still not recognise them as being valid for authenticating outgoing (digitally signed) email.
In other words the "starred ticks" didn't appear in the outgoing message composition window heading as it should do.
    Solutions:
I thought you'd be interested to know what I found out after experimenting with:
    1) A Self-signed certificate created in the Mac OS X Keychain Access Utility
    2) A Secure email Certificate obtained (for free) from C.O.M.O.D.O
[I looked at Thawte and VeriSign but Thawte are no longer doing Personal email certificates and are passing all their existing ones over to VeriSign this month (Oct / Nov 2009). Personal Secure email certificates are a bit harder to find on the Verisign website and a certificate costs $20 for a year and seems to offer no more "trust" value than a C.O.M.O.D.O one ... which is free and relatively easy to find.
    _The experiment:_
I found that a Windows Outlook Express recipient would be notified that:
    1) the self-signed certificate "could not be trusted" but that
    2) the one simply obtained from C.O.M.O.D.O was accepted (without any warning) as trusted by a known CA (Certification Authority)
You could argue that both methods are pretty well identical in terms of real-world authentication value but, to the recipient, they both look very different:
    1) a warning dialog obscures the email and reports that the self-signed certificated appears untrustworthy
    2) the CA-issued one "Inherits Trust from Issuer" (according to Outlook Express's inspection of the certificate details) just displays a little rosette symbol and thus gives confidence.
In fact, the C.O.M.O.D.O. process involves emailing the applicant her certificate downloading instructions. In this sense the email address associated with the certificate is authenticated. That's the most authentication one of these certificates can really support, anyway.
    _Obtaining the CA-issued certificate:_
It's an easy two-step process to request and download the certificate from COMODO's web site. The certificate is automatically installed into Mac Keychain Access Utility upon Safari download.
    Hope this helps someone!

The solution is when you started in Firefox to collect all these requested certificates with the same browser.
Then to export (Preferences > Advanced > Encryption > View certs > Your certs > Create backup of all...) the certs to a PKCS12 file; and import that file into keychain (by double clicking within Finder)

I just recieved this message when trying to email a itunes gift certificate, "This purchase would exceed the maximum Gift Certificate purchase amount for this Apple ID".Why I am limited to gift certificate and not other purchases.?

Chris CA,  62,910 points.  Dang...that's a lot of support.  Before I start, let me say Thank You!  You need to answer a lot of people's questions to achieve that.
    1)  You slightly misunderstood my letter through no fault of your own.  It was a generic compilation of information submitted by members of this discussion turned into a letter by me for use on the Apple Feedback site.  I myself did not receive an e-mail.  I actually was prevented from purchasing any more iTunes gift cards at a certain point and was given a cryptic response from the iTunes store that my request could not be processed.  It was only after investigation on my part that I found out the reason was the $100 max per 30 day rule.  I'd try to find where in the Apple's support site I did find that information...but, well, you are just going to have to trust me.  However, others in this discussion stated they received the information in an e-mail.  I used that fact in my letter as it seemed to create a less "cumbersome" feedback submission.
    2)  "Why look for iOS apps?"  That's a good very good question!  I miswrote.  I should have said "OS X apps."  That is where iTunes is located on the Feedback Site.  Good catch.  As you know (62,910 points is a lot of "knowing"), when you submit feedback you must click on the item of which you are going to write.  I must be so ramped up for the impending release of the new iPhone that I had iOS on the brain.  My bad. :-)
    3)  In all the time this discussion has been alive (over a year), and in all my googling, I never read about an option to contact iTunes support and ask them to remove this limit from my account.  It is too bad you didn't come to this discussion when it started in May of 2011 to offer that piece of advice!  Surprisingly, that information wasn't anywhere on the Apple site where I read about the $100/30 day limit.  Maybe it is there now.  But, it sure wasn't there when I read it.  It would have been very helpful.
    4)  You say "(which they can do and often have done for many people here)."  I am curious, what do you mean by "here."  Not "here" as in "here in THIS discussion forum."  Right?  I don't see anyone in this discussion aware of that information and posting it for others to read.  By "here" I assume you mean the ENTIRE Apple Support Community.  Unfortunately, until you arrived on the scene, none of those from that gigantic "here" came across THIS discussion to share their good fortune and knowledge about removing the $100 limit on iTunes gift card purchases per 30 days.
Well, I think that wraps it up for another day.  I am off to iTunes support to get this limit removed from my account.
    Adios amigos!
    Mr. Luigi

  • Configure Encryption Notifcation Templates for IronPort Email Encryption

We are running a Cisco C100V Email Security Virtual Appliance and are going to start using the IronPort Email Encryption capabilities to send secure email to recipients outside of our organization.
I see under Mail Polices --> Text Resources that you can create an "Encryption Notification Template" HTML or text based that gives a general message to a recipient on what to do when they receive this secure email using this process.
Is there a way that I can customize that template a little more?  I would like to add at least our corporate logo to that template just to make things more visible to the recipient who the message is coming from.
Ive tried to copy and paste the HTML code out and edit it throwing a <IMG> tag in with a URL as the source back to a logo I put in a folder on our public website however it didn't work.
Can this be done or am I just stuck with the dull as dishwasher framework of that template..?
    Thanks.

Yes - you can edit the template to include the logo, or anything you wish --- standard HTML encoding applies...
Here - I have added in the Pittsburgh Pirates "P" logo --->
My HTML code --- only choosing to add a NEW template in the text resources, using the template wording --- and inserting the BOLD RED section w/ the image location for the Pirate "P" source:

  • Ironport c160 email encryption

I understand and support the automatic encryption of our outbound emails.  In an attempt to possibly make it better, is there any method using our existing C160 email security appliance that can warn the sender that a message will be automatically encrypted prior to it going out?  Doing so could allow the user to choose to have it encrypted or not.  We have a subject tag "!m" that the user can type to force unsecured... but many times they have to do this after the fact they get an email from the C160 saying that the email was encrypted.

Yes - 7.3 version of the plug-in supports Outlook 2013:
    (c/o: http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/security/iea/Compatibility_Matrix/IEA_Compatibility_Matrix.pdf)
Click here for the Plug-in downloads.  You will need a CCO login to access the downloads.
As for the complaint against "encrypts a message without warning" --- that just really starts to get into end-user education of what is active in the environment.  If you have DLP in play on the appliance, and one of the set defined policy is Privacy Protection -> ABA Routing Numbers, then the appliance is only doing it's job, as you have configured.  If the end-users should be sending through a relay/outbound mail flow policy, and you don't want that group/end-users to be susceptible to the DLP  scanning, you'll need to configure them into an outgoing mail policy that doesn't have DLP enabled... or, has DLP enabled but not ABA Routing Numbers.
Using the plug-in and allowing the end-users to decide if they want to encrypt/not encrypt is only going to be the initial reaction of that end-user.  With the plug-in, you may be removing the need to use the subject line encryption flag in order to provoke encryption, but any/all mail from that end-user through the ESA will still be susceptible to the configuration and encryption actions set.
You should leave the subject line trigger in place (either via message filter or content filter) - but, be sure to re-educate the end-users that may be using the plug-in to fully understand the right/wrong as you intend encryption to be handled.
    -Robert

  • I saved a PDF doc in adobe and then added text to the form. But every time I try an email it it only

I saved a PDF doc in adobe and then added text to the form. But every time I try an email it it only sends the original form without text. Once I've changed a doc in Adobe, how can I save it so that I'm able to use it with added text and notes? Also, I'm using a new iPad.

If you are using those apps or websites, they are likely viewing the PDF using iOS' built in PDF previewing, which will not show annotations and markup to the PDF. We have informed Apple of this issue, but do not have any insight into whether or when they will fix it.
Regarding the qustion about importing pictures, Adobe Reader does not provide any capabilities to import pictures into a PDF. To do this, you'll need to use Acrobat, available on your desktop computer.

Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

I can no longer attach files to my outgoing Hotmail emails.  I only receive a message where I would expect the Upload to appear that an  error has occurred.
I am using a MacBook Pro with Retina, 2 Ghz Intel Core i7, OS X 10.9.4
I have no difficulty attaching files to the outgoing Hotmails on the same account using my iPhone.
    Help appreciated.

Thanks for this - not an immediate solution I fear but will keep unplugging stuff and restarting stuff.
To try and be clearer about the problem - I have in the last managed to send attachments successfully.  Now  I can send and receive plain email messages but get the error message when I try to attach an existing file to an email - not just a particular file but it would appear all files are being treated in the same way.
An experiment to send a mail to which an attachment has failed to upload got the following message alongside the SEND button
Files with errors will be removed from the email and not sent.
    - but the mail alone was sent and received successfully.  Thanks for any pointers you can give me.
