Email form in a contact page

Can anyone recommend a quick tutorial on how to create an email submission from on a contact page? I know I need some kind of php script, but I have no idea how to write one. I need to know how to have the info submitted in the form sent to an email address of my choosing.
Thanks,
Nick

Lookup email injection attack. Without injection sanitation your example script is an open invitiation to host spam. It only takes one line of code to sanitize your email script. Why not include the sanitation in your example?

    That's a big chunk of nothing. You cannot have bare text like
    that on a

    something.

  • Email address on Portal page incorrectly copied into email form

    I have a 'staff directory' on a Portal page that contains email addresses. Upon clicking on an email address an email form pops up. However, the email address in the TO: line sometimes reflects the email address correctly, and sometimes it repeats characters from the email address - that is, my email address might be correctly copied in as Caryn@mail or incorrectly copied in as Caryncaryn@mail.
    Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

    So called e-mail obfuscation scripts may work up to a point, but client side scripts are easily defeated by turning off JavaScript.   Also, e-mail links don't work for everyone. With so many people using web mail (yahoo, hotmail, g-mail, etc...) instead of e-mail software, they may not have an e-mail client on their device.
    For many reasons, a contact form with a form to email processing script that has built-in spam protection is the way to go.
    If your server supports PHP, this script from DBMasters is good.

    is there a way you can make a contact page with blank fields to put info. on iWeb and submit it to my email?

    It depends on where you publish.
    MobileMe users need to use a form service or MailShoot...

    If you publish to another server that supports php you can do it yourself...

  • Emails generated by the Contact Form widgets are saying they are coming from me rather than the person who has generated the email?

    Can I change the emails generated by the Contact Forms from saying that they are coming from me, to the address of the person that's actually generated the enquiry on the contact form? Or does this always automatically link back to my Creative Cloud account because thats how I'm hosting the websites?

    Because they ARE coming from you (at least from your account)... this is the account the website is using to send the form to your email and this means that a user visiting your website can send you this email "EVEN" when they don't own an email account themselves.
    No you can't legialy change the address to theirs... thats a big no no in most countrys but you can and should have a "contacts" field on your form that allows people to give you a email or phone number so that you can follow up.
    p.s. many people make the mistake of trying to force email contacts in their forms and that offen turns people off using them if they MUST tell you the colour of their underware just to contact you about a sales offer or simple question then don't expect to get much feed-back from your forms.

    How can I set two different emails in only one contact form?

    To enter multiple email address with the Contact Form Widgets:
    Click the Options icon for the selected widget, then
    In the Email to box, enter multiple emails by delimiting them with a semi-colon. For example: [email protected];[email protected]

  • Contact / email form problem

    I am adding a contact / forward email form to a website I am building and ran into a snag. I have the Adobe Classroom in a book for AS3, and in chapter 13 it gives me the code, along with a start file and completed file. The problem is, the completed file doesn't work. The code links up to a web address that has the PHP file that generates the email. Has anyone else had a problem with this? I have access to a server running PHP and uploaded it there and redirected the AS code in the example and still nothing. And yes, I have checked the book website for updates. Relevant code follows.
    Thanks,
    Jeff
    var variables:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
    var mailAddress:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.turnkeycreations.com/clients/tgc/email.php");
    name_txt.tabIndex = 1;
    email_txt.tabIndex = 2;
    subject_txt.tabIndex = 3;
    note_txt.tabIndex = 4;
    print_btn.tabIndex = 5;
    send_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onSubmit);
    function onSubmit(e:Event):void {
        variables.sName = name_txt.text;
        variables.sEmail = email_txt.text;
        variables.sMessage =variables.sName + " has sent this note:" + "\n\n"+note_txt.text;
        variables.sSubject = subject_txt.text;
        mailAddress.data = variables;
        mailAddress.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
        sendToURL(mailAddress);
        feedback_txt.text = "Your mail has been sent";
    PHP:
    <?php
    $sendTo = $_POST["sEmail"];
    $subject = $_POST["sSubject"];
    $headers = "From: " . $_POST["sName"] . "<" . $_POST["sEmail"] .">\r\n";
    $headers .= "Reply-To: " . $_POST["sEmail"] . "\r\n";
    $headers .= "Return-path: " . $_POST["sEmail"];
    $message = $_POST["sMessage"];
    mail($sendTo, $subject, $message, $headers);
    ?>

    I guess technically it does work, I sent it to another address to test it again. The problem is,
    the address I used first is (not real) [email protected]  .  It has a period before the first and last name. Could this be the problem? If so, how do I fix?

  • Problems with contact email form

    Hi there,
    So I've been having lots of problems with getting an email form to work in my flash website.
    The contact email form I've been attemping to get to work can be found here:
    http://www.webdesignmo.com/blog/2008/08/14/flash-contact-form-in-actionscript-3/
    When I start a new flash movie from scratch and follow the instructions on the site, everything works great. However, when I try to create this form within a movie symbol within my current flash site, nothing works at all. I've tried placing the submit button within the movie symbol and without and neither works. I guess my question is, why would this happen? In which circumstances would placing a form like this inside of a movie prevent the form from functioning? For instance, when I tes tthe movie, fill out the form and press the submit button, nothing happens.
    Can I get some advice for whether I need to rethink implementing this form into a current flash video and what things I should check for?
    Thanks so much!
    Using CS3 btw.

    you probably have path problems.  use the trace() function to help debug your flash.

  • View application pages - view forms views and application pages. enumerate lists

    view application pages - view forms views and application pages. enumerate lists, if we disable this permission in sharepoint then user gets blocked from getting into application pages which is good. But now I have few list view web parts on a page and user
    is not able to see those reports based on view. It shows working on it. As soon as I enable view application pages permission it works.
    I need a permission level -view forms views only.
    MCTS Sharepoint 2010, MCAD dotnet, MCPDEA, SharePoint Lead

    Hi Amit,
    SharePoint has a feature called “ViewFormPagesLockDown” at site collection scope. After enabling the feature, all groups / users not having the “View Application Pages” permission will not be able to navigate to pages like “_layouts/viewlsts.aspx”
    or “pages/forms/allitems.aspx”.
    So, for your issue, please disable the ViewFormPagesLockDown feature via PowerShell command:
    $lockdownFeature = get-spfeature viewformpageslockdown
    disable-spfeature $lockdownFeature -url [the URL of your site]

  • Contact page not working, please help

    Hi,
    I have a problem with my contact page,when I fill in the fileds,and click on SEND, the information is supposed to clear from the fields, and send to the specific email address,
    BUT
    what happens is the fields dont clear and nothing sends,
    I am hosting with spry.com, they support php, but for some reason they tried to say they cant do it for spam reasons??? I have given the read,write permissions  as per image
    <?php
    $sendTo = "[email protected]";
    $subject = "Enquiry from Your Website";
    $headers = "From: " . $_POST["name"] . "<" . $_POST["email"] .">\r\n";
    $headers .= "Reply-To: " . $_POST["email"] . "\r\n";
    $headers .= "Return-path: " . $_POST["email"];
    $message = "Company: " . $_POST["message"] . "\r\n" . "Subject: " . $_POST["message2"]. "\r\n" . "Message: " . $_POST["message3"];
    mail($sendTo, $subject, $message, $headers);
    ?>
    if i cant use this php code, is there any other way to use my flash contact page to send enquiries ?????
    any ideas would be highly appreciated,

    I dont have the button opened for editing, I was only looking for any other places where code might be,forget about the button being open,this is the right place where the code is, I've tried everything,
    Im getting to the point now where i dont think there is much i can do to get it working,
    As I described it my original post, I am with SPRY as my hosting,
    They have mentioned something about SPAM AND NOT ALLOWING php OR something,
    Besides using PHp for my contact page , is there any other way i can try the contact form but using some other way to parse my form????
    Thanks

  • Email form not coming through to inbox

    Hello everyone.
    I've built a email form in DW CS3 (It's a custom form, not something I got from godaddy or from internet), but when you type in the info, from the form it is not coming to the inbox once you hit send. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    I'm using godaddy. In "action" I have: /gdform.php (Post).

    You have this:
      <input name="reciepient" type="hidden" id="reciepient" value="[email protected]" />
    which should be
      <input name="recipient" type="hidden" id="recipient" value="[email protected]" />
    ...but I don't know if current gdform.php processor uses the recipient field, or some other mechanism. Try fixing the typo and if it still doesn't work you need to contact GD for support.

  • Forms, web applications, dynamic pages

    Hi.
    Can someone tell me what the best method is to create a form
    in DW? Correct me if I am wrong as I am quite new to this, but I
    see a lot of sites out there with different types of
    pages...they're using .aspx, .jsp, .php, .cgi, .html, .asp .cfm
    .........etc. Which one do you use??
    I want a form for contact info filled in & then you click
    a submit button & an email goes to your email listing all the
    fields & the entries of whoever filled your form. What is the
    difference of all of those mentioned above?
    Also what is the difference between .aspx & .asp?
    .html & .htm?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Forms can be html pages but once the submit button is clicked
    the form is
    usually processed on the sever hence the .asp. .aspx .jsp
    .php etc.
    Search google for active server pages. You can also look at
    the help file
    for info on database sites.
