Email--forms--formatting--HTML??

I am trying to send email based on some events in my forms application. The email seems to work fine, with it being delievered right and the contents look fine. But the issue seems to be with formatting, if i send emails (using outlook via forms--SMTP) , the formatting is lost.
I have a variable called message which looks like this
message := 'line 1'||chr(10)||chr(13)'line2';
but this doesnt seem to work, i.e. when i read my email the message looks like
line1 line2
which is in the same line..is ther any other way of formatting such emails with indents, fonts etc. ?
any pointers on this would be appreciated
thanks

  • Keeping PDF form format when sending via email

    Hello, I have created a form using Adobe LiveCycle.  It contains a submit button to send the filled out form to a recipient via email.  After numerous draft attempts the form gets converted into an .XML format when it is attached to a new email message.  I want the form to stay as a PDF but LiveCycle indicates the form would need to be sent to an HTTP address.  I don't have such an address.
    Is there some way to force the form to keep its PDF format and be sent via email by the push of a button?
    (I know that you can click File--attach to Email to but I would like to avoid that method).  Thank you.

    Q: Is there some way to force the form to keep its PDF format and be sent via email by the push of a button?
    A #1: Yes, you can use the standard button, set the format to "PDF" and supply the mailto:[email protected] and it will use the client side email software to attach and send the PDF. Note: You will need to enable usage rights on the PDF to allow Adobe Reader users to submit whole PDF format. Normally Adobe Reader users are only allowed to submit the data formats, XML and XDP for LiveCycle forms, and HTML, XFDF and FDF for Acroforms.
    A #2: You can also bypass client-side email software such as OUTLOOK, if you set the submit button action to a URL of a server-side script, such as PHP or ASP.Net. The script could generate an SMTP message, and attach the submission without the use of client-side email software. By using a server-side script, the PDF submission process is almost fool proof.

  • Submit pdf form as HTML will attach a tmp file to email

    I all,
    I'm just trying to submit a simple pdf form as HTML but I always get a "RandomFileName.tmp" file as attachment to the resulting email.
    If I open the tmp file with a text editor I see it contains my form fields name and their related values.
    But I think the end-user has not all the knowledge to open a strange file name with a tmp extension.
    Why do this happen? is it a bug?
    I'm using Acrobat X and Thunderbird 24.0 as email client.
    Is there a simple way (I don't know javascript) to get all fields/values in the email body?
    This task should be really simple but I cannot find any usefull info on adobe website.
    TIA for any help or suggestion.

    Is there a simple way (I don't know javascript) to get all fields/values in the email body?
    This can be done with JS, and it's not too complicated, but you can't generate an email from Reader without any attachments (well, actually you can, but then the amount of data you can put in it is very limited), it has to have either the entire PDF, or a file with the form data, attached to it.

  • When calling report in forms, only html format can show chinese characters

    To all experts,
    When I run report by calling run_report_object() in forms, only html format can show chinese characters. If I choose pdf format, garbage characters were shown instead of chinese characters. My settings on server are as follows:
    NLS_LANG=TRADITIONAL CHINESE_HONG KONG.UTF8
    FORMS60_REPFORMAT=PDF
    Do you know why? I hope to print report in PDF format as PDF turned out to be more regular in format. Is there any additional settings required?
    May experts here broaden my mind?

    Assuming that you are using version 6i, try using Oracle9i Reports it has support for multi-byte in PDF.
    By the way, Reports questions will get better response if you send them on the reports forum.

    You have two different ways of generating Japanese PDF files from Reoprts. One is font aliasing and the other is font subsetting.
    <font aliasing>
    You will need to have the following entries in uiprint.txt (example).
    [ PDF ]
    .....JA16SJIS = "KozMinPro-Regular-Acro"
    "MS UI Gothic".....JA16SJIS = "KozMinPro-Regular-Acro"
    You may need to download and install Japanese Font Pack from Adobe's web site (if your Acrobat is non-Japanese version).
    <font subsetting>
    You will need to add C:\WINNT\Fonts (or wherever your TTF/TTC fonts are installed) to your REPORTS_PATH.
    You will also need to have the following entries in uiprint.txt (example).
    [ PDF:Subset ]
    "Andale Duospace WT J" = "Aduoj.ttf"
    "Albany WT J"="AlbanWTJ.ttf"
    "MS UI Gothic" = "msgothic.ttc"

    Is there a way to distribute the forms as HTML emails?
    Thanks,
    K

    The only thing I can think of is to leave the email as a draft and add a reminder  (using the "Reminders" app) to send it at a certain day and time.
    The other way would be to create a calendar event to which you attach an script that sends the email.

  • Email form guru needed

    Hi,
    Any help greatly appreciated from an email form guru!
    I have a email form that returns emails to my address - but no others. It is laden with a load of content and HTML. I have checked spam filters and junk inboxes and I'm at a loss as to why this would be happening. I have set up numerous email accounts but only two accounts I have had for ages work. Other emails from the same server are received by the same email host - so I don't think they are being blocked, unless that happens automatically when there is a large volume of html in the email. This still doesn't explain why I get the emails and no one else does.
    Thanks in advance!

    Ok, I am trying to understand the problem.
    If I understand correctly the php script works, it is just an issue of trying to send it to other email addresses.  Is that correct?
    You have been able to successfully reconfigure the php script to send to at least 1 other email address.  Correct?
    When you try some other email addresses they email from the form handler doesn't arrive.  Correct?
    Are the other email addresses at another domain than recruitercritic.com?
    Can you send to more than one address at the same time?  If so what happens when you send to the original email address and one of the others?
    Well, since the script works with the original email, and you are able to successfully modify the script to direct to at least one other email address then it seems that the script is working just fine.  I don't think you have a code issue.  I don't know how heavily formatted the emails are but it is possibly that the emails are getting blocked by the spam filters on the receiving email servers.  You might check http://mxtoolbox.com/ and see what your mail server IP is and what it's reputation is.  If it is on some blacklists that could account for it being blocked by filters on other servers. If that is the case then you should work on getting off any blacklists you are on.

  • Flash 8 AS and PHP email form

    Hi,
    I am finally finding some time over the holidays to work on
    my website flash email form. I have had some wonderful help from
    kglad and Chris a couple of months ago. I will attach my AS2 code
    first and then my PHP code I have recieved from Yahoo. (Our hosting
    server for the website).
    I keep getting my error message of... "Sorry, there was a
    server error, please try again."
    I also have specified the default mail account within my
    yahoo small business web account under PHP/Perl Mail Setup
    [email protected] as the Default.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in
    advance!

    Let me prefix this by saying...
    I haven't used an email script directly... I've always used
    an intemediate function when I've been doing things like this
    through a CMS or whatever.. so that's my way of saying I'm not sure
    of this...
    But
    I see two potential things with the mail function based on
    the php docs.
    1. the msg string.
    According to this:
    Each line should be separated with a LF (\n). Lines should
    not be larger than 70 characters.
    You don't seem to have that. I know its html formatted... but
    perhaps you should put the LF chars in.
    2. This is probably far less likely and only try it after the
    first option above (I'm guessing this is very rare):
    For your message headers where you have \r\n
    Note: If messages are not received, try using a LF (\n) only.
    Some poor quality Unix mail transfer agents replace LF by CRLF
    automatically (which leads to doubling CR if CRLF is used). This
    should be a last resort, as it does not comply with » RFC
    2822.

  • Send Email Form InfoPath and Vote for outlook 2010

    Hi all ,
    you know if it is possible to send mail with infopath form (not in attached) by peoplesoft 8.51 and you can change the form with Value peoplesoft. And if it's possbile to send vote outlook by peoplesoft (http://www.technipages.com/outlook-2010-2007-send-a-vote-email.html ) ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Typically, the form submits to a script that formats the
    email and then
    sends it. This script could either be on the same page as the
    form (in
    which case it would only fire if the form has been submitted)
    or it can be
    on a separate page that is targeted in the action attribute
    of the <form>
    tag.
    In the processing script, you would need to build the
    recordset, add the
    password from the recordset to the email and then send it.
    Does that help?

    Sorry, I should have used the code tags. Let me ask that again.
    I have HTML formatted data stored in VARCHAR2 columns on the database for which I am using a stylesheet to format into XSL-FO to resolve the HTML tags. For example, my data template populates a field PARAGRAPH_TEXT with content such as
    <b>some bold text</b>and I am using
    <xsl:apply-templates select="PARAGRAPH_TEXT"/>in my RTF template to process the data using the stylesheet to convert it to
    <fo:inline font-weight="bold">some bold text</fo:inline>The HTML tags are corrrectly resolved when using the BI Publisher Word add-in and the output is correctly rendered in bold text but this does not happen when running on the server in an E-Business Suite environment due to the HTML tags in the output XML being generated as e.g. &lt;b&gt; instead of <b>. Has anybody experienced this and, more importantly, can anybody suggest a way of getting e.g. <b> in the XML instead of &lt;b&gt;

    >a email but for some reason it wont work here is the PHP
    code:
    Next time please be more specific. "won't work" isn't really
    helpful.
    Anyway, the first thing to fix is the error reporting on your
    testing
    server, obviously it's not configured properly. In your
    php.ini these
    directives have to be set:
    error_reporting = E_ALL|E_STRICT
    display_errors = on
    You should get some notices from your script. After fixing
    those issues,
    you should also read about header injection and how to
    prevent it. Your
    script is vulnerable and can be abused for sending spam. Also
    consider
    to use a class like PHPMailer to make things more secure and
    convenient.
    Some further notes about your form markup:
    * It's very good that you make use of labels for your form
    controls, but
    in some cases the IDs of these controls contain spaces, which
    is not
    allowed.
    * You don't really need a label for a submit button.
    * Consider to drop all those div elements in the table
    headers - you
    don't need them. Use CSS to style the labels the way you
    want, e.g.
    form th {text-align: right}
    I also use this:
    label:hover {outline: 1px dotted #666}
    * Check the markup of the "Name" row. The 'scope' attribute
    is incorrect
    and the form control should be inside a 'td', not a 'th'.

  • Email form not coming through to inbox

    Hello everyone.
    I've built a email form in DW CS3 (It's a custom form, not something I got from godaddy or from internet), but when you type in the info, from the form it is not coming to the inbox once you hit send. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    I'm using godaddy. In "action" I have: /gdform.php (Post).

    You have this:

  • Need Formatted html output from Xalan

    We use xalan xslt processor to convert
    xml document to html. Everything works
    fine, except the output is unformatted html.
    (ie. several HTML elements appear on the
    same line. Some lines are longer than 1000
    characters). This happens inspite of me
    specifying the HTML elements in different
    lines in the xsl.
    I would like to know if there is any way, I can generate formatted html output.
    Thanks

    have u tried
    <xsl:output indent="yes"/>
    in your stylesheet?

  • REP-52007 Error and Web Parameter Form Format Problems

    I am attemting to get Oracle 9i reports working. I created a super simple report just for test purposes. I am using the following URL to call it directly from the browser:
    http://myserver.com:8008/reports/rwservlet?server=repapp&report=jtest_rep.rdf&userid=myuser/mypass@mydb&DESTYPE=cache&DESFORMAT=pdf&PARAMFORM=YES
    When it generates the parameter form page, the formatting of the section that has the paramters is terrible. Looking at the HTML generated, it is creating a large <table> that places the elements outside of the viewing area. I do not know how why it is doing this or how to fix it.
    If I actually do find the field and enter in the prameter and hit submit, I then get:

    If I set paramform=no and pass in the parmater in the url string, then it skips the paramter form and runs fine accepting the input.
    Any idea what the solution is for these two errors?

    After more searching, I found out that the problem for both is an Oracle Bug posted on mealink. It has to do with using capital letters for the oracle default parameters. Once you make it lower case, it works.
    ex:
    http://myserver.com:8008/reports/rwservlet?server=repapp&report=myreport.rdf&userid=myid/mypass@mydb&destype=cache&desformat=pdf&paramform=yes
