Email from iPhoto uses wrong sender address.

When I send an email from iPhoto
an email is generated.
but in the "from" field a wrong email address  is placed.
How can I change this into my email address.

iPhoto preferences ==> accounts - delete the incorrect account an enter the correct one - or in the iPhoto preferences set Mail as your email client - it has much better account control and also has a sent mail mailbox

  • Emailing from iPhoto using Mail & .Mac account in a foreign country

    Hi all.
I love the OSX integration of being able to just select some photos in
iPhoto and click the email button. Opens up Mail program and sends away.
It makes it very easy and simple for someone like my girlfriend who would rather not think about where things are stored and how to attach them.
I even made her get a .Mac account to simply things even more!
    Great.... but......
Off she goes with the iBook to Thailand to do her wholesale shopping.
With a new digital camera, iBook, .Mac account and iLife 6 all packed too.
(plus a quick lesson in using iWeb to get photos to a web page).
So now she takes some photos, loads them into iPhoto, edits, crops,
makes them look pretty. All in the comfort of her own room. Then off
to the Internet Cafe she goes, pays for a wireless hookup (the iBooks got airport). Goes to iPhoto, selects the photos, clicks email. Mail opens and a
new message with the photos already attached opens. After typing a message and sending the message......an error gets returned saying unable to send message do to SMTP outgoing server.
Having ran into this issue at home already, I followed instructions I found on the apple site regarding changing the mail setting account info SMTP server port number. Well that worked for home and after trying to get her to change it via the numerous numbers suggested from the Support pages on apple. Could not get her to be able to send an email (even when selecting .mac as the selected outgoing mail server).
Any suggestions on how to get this to work.
I just went into the new web .Mac mail and while you can attach files.
There is no way to use the iPhoto program to do this or to just be able to drag and drop from iPhoto to .Mac webmail.
Trying to show her the pathway to find her photos in the Pictures folder is not really an option.
    thanks
    Kerry

    Hi Kerry
Some ISPs don't allow one to send email via another connection to prevent spammers using their servers for relaying junk.
I suggest that she use the webmail function of .Mac.
She could export the files to desktop, making sure that she adjusts the file size in the dialogue box so that the files are not too large, and then add to the email via the normal webmail interface.

  • When I send a photo directly from iPhoto using the Mail app on my iMac, the wrong photo appears on my iPad2 Mail app.  However the correct photo shows if I log into gmail on the iPad2.  I assume there is a glitch with my "Mail" app on the iPad2.

When I send a photo directly from iPhoto using the Mail app on my iMac, the wrong photo appears on my iPad2 Mail app.  However the correct photo shows if I log into gmail on the iPad2.  I assume there is a glitch with my "Mail" app on the iPad2?  Any suggestions for getting the correct photo to show on iPad2?

Update:  I was able to have the correct photo show in my email as received on my iPad2 by changing a setting on my IMac prior to sending the photo on the email.
On the iMac, I went into iPhoto > Preferences > Email photos using > Mail (in lieu of "iPhoto").  This seems to have corrected the issue.  I'm not sure why.  Now the correct photo shows up when received on my iPad2.

  • When emailing from iPhoto, the recipients address comes up incorrect, even though it is correct in both my email accounts.  How do I edit it?  I have changed it, but the next time it appears it contains the same errors.

When emailing from iphoto with a template, the recipients' address comes up incorrect (a couple of letters are wrong).  The addresses are correct in both my email accounts, including the one I am using for the iphoto email.  I have corrected the address prior to sending the email, but they come up with the same errors the next time I choose them in the iphoto 11 program.  How do I correct thes email addresses?  thank you

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account.  The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

  • Can't send large email from iphoto

When trying to send a large photo from iphoto using the email button it asks for the the size but no matter what size I choose the email always sends in the smallest size.
The larger sizes seem to flash by an I end up with a low resolution.
I tried changing my iphoto preferences to use Entourage and it works as it should.
This problem is not unique to my computer since a friend was having the same problem with her macbook so I was able to duplicate it on my imac.
    I am using  OS X 10.6.7

Make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the fix below :
1 - delete  the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
As a workaround you can set iPhoto to use Mail and then select one of Mail's photo stationary themes. Then you can select the size in the size menu at the bottom of the email window.
That should let your file size stick.

I cannot send email from my ipad. Getting address is rejected from server message.

Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

    You don't.
Slideshows are exported as movies and these are very large files. Email is not an appropriate medium for very large files as they can cause immense issues for the receiver.
Better to share some other way.

  • Signature photo broken when emailing from iPhoto

I have a photo above my name in my default signature in Mail. When I click the Email" button in iPhoto to send photos via email, my signature photo shows up as and icon that reads "Untitled (82kb)".
The photo in my signature works FINE if I create a new email, but not in the new emails that iPhoto creates with the pictures attached.
I added the photo to the signature field in Mail's preferences by dragging and dropping the .JPG file from the Finder. That, and copying and pasting seems to be the only way to put a photo in a signature. Neither method works when initiating an email from iPhoto.
    Mail 2.1
    iphoto 5.0.4
    Any ideas, anyone?
    Thanks!

    Marius,
set the mailer in the iPhoto Preferences to "Mail.app", not to "iPhoto"
    iPhoto > Preferences > General
              Email Photos using: Mail
This way you will be able to mail your photos directly from iPhoto, but you cannot use the iPhoto cards; use the Mail Photo stationary instead, once the mail panel opens.
For some reason mailing using iPhoto as Mailer works for me only, if I am mailing from my iCloud accoun,t and if Mail is set to use the iCloud account by default.

  • Emailing from iPhoto doesn't create new message

I'm trying to email some photos from iPhoto using Apple Mail. I select my photos tell it what size to send, photo count is correct. Click on Compose and I see a progress bar...preparing photos for email. it says it processed the correct # of photos but I don't get the new message dialog box.
Could this be because I'm using gmail imap?

Could this be because I'm using gmail imap?
Unlikely, as the service you use has no impact on creating the message, only on sending it.
    try the troubleshooting basics:
    1. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
    2. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder. You'll need to reset your User options afterwards.
    3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • Error message when trying to email from iPhoto

Just spoke to Apple support because I was unable to email from iPhoto unless I went through Mail (i.e. no templates). I had struggled with this for some months. The patient and helpful Apple people solved the problem after a couple of hours. Two-step verification in iCloud was the source. Since the email originates in the iPhoto app, it is necessary to use an app-specific password in iPhoto/ preferences/accounts/iCloud account.
That's why my wife's computer didn't have the problem. She doesn't have two-step verification enabled.
Thanks to Apple for the excellent support.

Yes, LarryHN is right - two-step verification seems to be causing this problem in some cases.
Other forum members reported, that creating  an app-specific password is required, see the post below:
Re: I am using iPhoto version 9.6 and I can no longer get an email sent with a photo attached. I get an error message saying the email did not go through because the server did not reply. I can send the photo with Mail. Help!in response to Gary Kissler
This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:
    https://appleid.apple.com
    Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
    Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).
    And...voila' (I hope)

  • Where can i find the sent emails from iphoto?

    Sending emails from iphoto works.
But where can i find the history of my sent emails from iphoto. I can´t find it in mail.
    Thanks for help!

iPhoto and Mail are two entirely separate apps, so Mail keeps no record of what iPhoto does and vice versa.
iPhoto's mail feature is aimed at folks who use web mail generally, and who wanted templates. It's a handy way to send photos to Grandma, it's not an email client. It doesn't have a history or sent mail box.
    Workarounds:
You can set iPhoto to bcc yourself automatically
    or
Use Mail. It has templates too, and more of them.

Why can't email from iPhoto? Keeps giving me an error message not conected to server.

that is not corect - you are logging into the email server tha tyou specify in the preferences - it might be iCLoud - it might be a different service
The solution to the OP's issue is to have the correct information entered for their account  --  or to switch to using Mail as the email client
