Email marketing for iWeb?

My site will depend heavily on newsletters. The site's created on iWeb '08.
Any recommendations on a provider who's affordable with opt-in email campaign tools? Affordable would help too.
Thanks

I have your web page and it has some errors.
The photo is offset to the left and the first line of text is jammed up against it. You also have an empty white rectangle below "ACADEMY OFFICE PARK and one of those nasty blue squares with a ? in it.
I see that on the Bulk Mailer website they have a section on HTML vs. Plain Text.

It seems that you can send your emails in both HTML and Plain Text.
Have you tried "doing your thing" in plain text?

  • Anyone know of Marketing company for iWeb sites???

Does anyone know of any reliable companies that can handle the marketing, search engine placement, email marketing, etc for some site I have done with iWeb? I have my sites up but am far too busy with my businesses to sit down and spend a lot of time getting it out there. Would like to find a reasonable company that can handle that for me.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

I don't find any apps for truck dispatching in the iTunes Store, though I may have missed something. There are a couple for taxi dispatching, so you might contact the developers of those apps and ask if they have anything planned for trucking and if not if they would be interested in discussing developing something custom for your company. Expect any custom development to be quite expensive. You can also contact the makers of truck dispatching software for Windows/Mac systems and ask if any of them have plans for iPad versions.

  • When I send a webpage via email, some of my recipients are unable to see it properly. The website was made with iWeb, and a Mac person advised me this was the best way to do an email campaign with iWeb, but it's not working for a lot of my customers - why

I have recently created a website for my family's business. When we bought the Macbook the guy in Apple said the best way to send an email campaign to our mailing list was to publish a hidden page, find it in the browser on Safari, then share it via email, so that is what I do. For most of my customers this works fine, however I have a number of people each month who cannot see any of the content of the email. I have added an 'If you can't see this email properly...' link at the top of the page, with no shapes or images etc near it, but even that does not appear for them.
I am a self-taught novice unfortunately, so haven't a clue what the problem is. I'm not sure of the operating system, but we bought the Macbook in May and it has all the recent updates installed. I have just had a new baby so can't get into the store fdor a one-to-one, so if anyone could explain why this happens / what I can do about it, I would be very grateful! Thanks!

If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

This one will create the form, database and send out the emails...

The alternative is to use a marketing service if your business can justify the cost. Their templates are tested in all the common email clients...

  • Is there a trick to publishing iWeb page html in email marketing campaigns?

I've searched around on this forum but haven't come across an answer. What I'd like to do is create a webpage in iWeb and use it with GoDaddy Express Email marketing. When I do it, it comes up all funky. I've tried it with Constant Contact, too, but no luck. Can this be done or do the iWeb html codes not jibe with other applications? I'd really love to use my own webpage design consistently through email marketing campaigns. Their templates are pretty ugly.
If someone knows any tricks, I'd love to learn them. If it's not doable, then go ahead and break the news to me.

  • Best Product for Web Graphics & Email Marketing

What is the best product to start with if my focus is creating graphics for the web and email marketing?

Editing PDF files: there is NO good product for editing the text or content of PDF files. There are tools but they are for a desperate last resort when things are very badly planned. Acrobat can do this.
Acrobat: good for scanning to PDF. But in general no sensible tool lets you work with PDF as your main format. For example if you want to do letters in PDF, you do them (typically) in Word and make a PDF. Want a page layout? Use InDesign or Publisher, make a PDF. Want to change the PDF? Edit the original and remake the PDF. You need to keep originals religiously.
Maps: look for a specialist tool for maps. Adobe don't have one.
General: don't expect to find one program that does all your tasks. You will probably want Acrobat though for some PDF-related tasks.

  • Why are creative cloud members penalized for email marketing?

We already have basic website accounts yet have to pay the same as those that don't if we add email marketing . There should be a discount. Better yet it should be included. We are the people doing websites & if it is included we would be better salesman for email marketing

    Hi there,
Confused. Webbasic is basic, that what it is, creative cloud 5 free sites are small wet your appetitie sort of sites to help beginers etc to get something out there. Email marketing systems are expensive, look at what you need to pay for mailchimp. If you want email marketing you need to upgrade.
Before the Creative Cloud BC runs a partner system, there are a lot of us and we build and sell amazing websites to people across the globe and many (most?) use the higher plans.

  • I may be too late, but I need to know who to send an email to concerning iWeb.  I hope Apple will reconsider sending this awesome app to the trash.

There is nothig like Iweb on the market.  And yes I have tried the top three apps that are suggested on most sites to replace Iweb.  I also understad that you ca still use Iweb without Mac hosting.   If apple does not update Iweb, it will only be a matter of time before the software is obsolete.  If apple does not want to keep Iweb, at least sell it to a third party company.   There has to be a market for an updated Iweb that will work with all future Mac OS's.  If there were another viable option, I would take it and not fret over Iweb.  There is just not a viable option.  The closest I have found is Freeway, it is good but nowhere near the ease of Iweb.  If Iweb dies then we are left to boring and cumbersome stock web services are complex code software.  I loved the ease of creating a site in Iweb and having everyone think it was done professionally.  If there are no others who share my feelings, I guess I am just whining and need to move on.  If you feel like I do, then who do we email and lets fill there inbox with our input.

Here's another route to get to the feedback page: Apple - iWeb - Feedback
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. HOWEVER, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ MobileMe Gallery
Currently if the site is published directly from iWeb to the 3rd party server the RSS feed and slideshow subscription features will work. However, if the site is first published to a folder on the hard drive and then uploaded to the sever with a 3rd party FTP client those two features will be broken.
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: iW14 - Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
NOTE: the iLife 11 boxed version Is no longer available at the online Apple Store.  To get a copy you'll have to try Amazon.com or eBay.com.

  • Blackberry is popular in Iran despite sanctions-a great market for blackberry

Iran is considered the largest market for cellular phones in the middle east [guardian].
Blackberry z10 sales have started since February in the world. There is no official Blackberry store in Iran, but market demand has made importers bypass restrictions to bring Blackberry z10 products into the country 48 hours after the canada!!!
Because of recent sanctions by usa, the price of dollors became triple since last year and Iranians have to pay more money to buy a smart phone. salary of an engineer in iran become $250 per month !! (I used this example to let you know about the situation). So number of selling smart phones reduced %50 and unfortunately Apple and Blackberry lost a huge market in middle east.Three another companies (samsung,LG and sony) still remain in iran and by financial supporting of iran's government and good relationship with japan and s-korea they have good market.
In middle of February the price of z10 was more than $1500 in iran (equal to 6 months salary of an engineer in iran!!) but fortunetly the price have decreased continuously since march. The BB z10 is selling about $600 in market now. However, I belived that most of them are refurbished and is sold to us as new one!!
There is a great potential for selling Blackberry in iran. About %40 of iranians are under 30 years old (about 30 million people) and most of them so interested in loyal and American smart phones such as iphone.
After coming BB z10 to iran, many people prefer to use it to iphone. a lot of stores started to sell BB z10 and many seller said iphone placement will replaced by BB z10. but after 1 month many customers returning their Z10s and they wanted to sell it with cheaper price. They said all services was blocked in iran. it was not possible to update BB OS, you can't to buy applicaions from app store, you can't to use BB email,BBM ,.... . Many buyer complained that the GPRS is deactive by BB and wifi disconnected continual by BB sever. so the BB services that you can use iran is equal to Nokia 1100.
Itunes and google play also have been closed their services to iranians. However, a lot of way exists to use their service . For example by changing IP, using VPN or rooting ( or jailbreaking) mobile phones you can access ti itunes. so BB will lost a great market in the world. I read a news about returning BB z10 in usa. If BB had official service and store in iran (similar to samsung,LG,sony), they would sold more than 1 million smart phone in iran.
The focus of the sanctions has been on Iran's banks and oil industry, Iranian individuals and companies that Western capitals believe are assisting what they suspect is Tehran's drive towards a nuclear weapons capability. However I belived that eventhough sanctions made a lot of problem for iranians in iran, a lot of problem also has been made for western companies such as BB which interest to be iran market.
at the end I have some suggestion for BB company, If they want to sell their mobile phones in iran:
    1. please let iranians install application from app world and let get updates (do not fear!! no body use them for nuclear prog ram )
    2. please add persian keyboard to your os (you can add 5 letter to arabic keyboard to convert it to persian, it is not difficult).
    3. please add the name of iran to your country lists and let us to register in your website.
    4. find a local distributor in iran and import your device legal. government give importer companies dollar with cheaper price, so company can sell smartphones with lower price in iran.
    Mohammad

    I think, i success.
App store of blackberry, Google, Apple will open to Iranians soon. USA omitted mobile phone sanctions two days ago. Also, North american companies could open local distributor in iran:

  • Why do we still have no pro-grade email app for the mac platform?

This is a combination of a question and a rant, I suppose. When I first came to the Mac platform back in 2003, I looked to see what the best email clients were and was surprised to find nothing that I thought was really strong. I started with Mail, hated it, switched to Entourage, and then since that time  I've used or demoed about everything I can find. Powermail, Eudora, Mailsmith in years past, and more recently Postbox and Sparrow.  I find all of them sorely lacking and it just keeps begging the question in my mind: why hasn't anyone yet created a truly professional-grade email application? I honestly think there's a huge market for it, and I think a lot of people would be willing to spend $30-50 for an app that got it right.
Right now, I use Mail with the add-ons MailTags and Mail Act-On, and  I've got my workflows and practices down to a pretty tight level. I am an adherent of inbox zero concepts/GTD and I practice them. Like many of you I get a lot of email, probably 200-300 per day.  There is no application I use on my computer more intensively than email, and yet it's the one app that is probably the most lacking from a development standpoint.
here are some of the things I'd love to see:
    - support for IMAP, POP3 and Exchange
    - an attractive, Mac-like user interface. Could Mail get any uglier? Why yes, yes it could, we now have Mail in Lion! Holy crap, were they incentivized to make it as dull and unattractive an app as they possibly could? If so, that team must be getting huge bonuses this christmastime.
    - industry compliant tagging
    - robust search functionality. Let me do quick spotlight-based searches, or give me a search dialogue box where I can construct more complex queries.
    - robust smart folder functionality. Mail does ok here, but it could be a lot better.
    - global rules (which Mail has but an app like Postbox doesn't), and then the ability to either have the rules applied automatically to all messages, or to fire a rule "on-demand" with respect to a single selected email (in other words, build in Mail Act-On functionality)
    - integration with social media. Postbox does a nice job with this. Hit their info pane button and you see a nice summary of all the links and possible social media interactions available via that selected email
    - integration with cloud-based file storage, and apps like Evernote, DevonThink, Omnifocus, etc
    - an intuitive, flexible layout that allows me to see my accounts and folder structures the way I want to see them, not the way the app forces me to lay them out.  Mail does a much better job of this than Postbox, for example.
    - integration with industry-standard archival practices. For example, integrate with MailSteward.
Mail is honestly not that far away, but they've been "not that far away" for the last 8 years I've been using a Mac.  I keep thinking SOMEBODY has to get this right and step up to fill this need, and nobody does. What  I'd really love to see is the OmniGroup (the guys that make fine apps like Omnifocus, Omnigraffle, Omnioutliner, etc...) step up and make "OmniMail". Give me an interface and a user experience I look forward to using, not one I use in spite of the interface. Give me a simple, efficient structure with depth and power under the hood that I can customize and tailor to my workflows.
if any developers read this, I am begging you: create this product. I've read every email app review I can find, visited a ton of blogs, user forums, etc..., and I think there is a huge demand for this kind of an app. If I did such coding, I would take the project on myself, but I'm just a user, not a developer.
Hope it happens someday. From my perspective, it's sorely needed.

I agree completely; email applications on the Mac lag (and I agree with the OP's frustration with responses as well).
I also have settled on Mail with Mail ActOn and MailTags; this functionality should be incorporated into the OS. I actually like using Outlook in Win 7 better; it's super easy to connect files, contacts, email and other stuff right from one application. And Win 7 has better preview and tagging built in, better than QuickLook. On the server side we desparately need gmail to use tags, but I don't see that happening. I still prefer the labeling scheme it has over Apple's mail, however. But I also find that it confuses many users (labels vs folders).
There are also other applications that integrate email functionality, like SOHO Organizer, or Contactizer. Good, but not the email holy grail.
I'd like to see communications built into the Finder or system, which badly needs an overhaul. It hasn't changed much since the 90's and shows it. Communication, whether it be email, tweets, social media posts, sharing, etc, is such an integral function of all work you do on a computer it should be better, um, integrated into all applications. You should be able to send data from any application to others in a variety of formats without having to go into an email application. Sure, you can now do this to a certain extent with either built-in menu items or services, but it's clunky. For example, when you write something you can either "save" and write to disk somewhere, or "export" in a different format, or maybe "email." All of those choices should at least be part of one dialog; it's just as likely you want to email, post, share or tweet what you just wrote, so just  having a "save" dialog is way outmoded.
So, yeah, somebody get on this.

  • Png or jpg not displaying in BC email marketing

I'm dropping both pngs and jpgs into BC's email marketing tool. For some reason, they display correctly in BC, but when I send a test email out to myself, the images do not display. Help!

Spaces and funny characters in file names on the web is basically something to NOT do.
A few browsers, coding solutions, API work, Email clients can all be effected by this and cause rendering issues. Just stick to the lower case, no spaces or character rule on file names.
Also avoid scaling the images in the editor - May look good and may come out in some email clients but some like Outlook will keep the image size as its natural size and emails will come out not as you expect because of this.

  • Email Marketing, Mail Merge, Segmentation wizard documentation

    Hello folks,
Pls. anyone knows where I can get any documentation on all or any of the 3 subjects above ? I tried metalink unsucessfully...
    Txs. for any hints.
    Antonio

None of these need any configuration.
Email Marketing - Once you have your EMOD agreement signed with oracle, your sys admin will be able to set up individual Email marketing admins and from there you will be able to design your email campaigns
Mail Merge and Segmentation Wizard - this is a word/Excel document with Web services built in that will perform the functions. You can get it from the Metalink - you click on Knowledge and search for them.

  • EMail Marketing Question

    Hello,
As a first-time user/admin of email marketing On Demand, I wanted to pose a question for the group.
It's apparent that you can only load "Contacts" as recipients of email campaigns, but what if you wanted to load "Leads" instead? I realize that Segmentation Wizard is the quick answer, but let me explain further.
Our organization attends a lot of trade shows, and in advance, we receive lists to which we can send pre-conference emails to a large pool of contacts/leads we've never been in contact with. Given the fact they're unqualified, I consider them a "lead."
However, there's no single field value to which I'd filter these leads by in Segmentation wizard. Essentially the easiest thing to do was import a list of recipients to a campaign. However, as I mentioned earlier, this isn't possible because they have to be contacts (our organization doesn't consider someone a contact until they're qualified in order to cut down on bad names being converted/added to the system).
Are there any best practices out there for helping me solve the issue about how to upload large numbers of leads who don't share a common segment (other than they are attending the same conference)?
    Thank You!

I think Oracle doesn't look at it the same way you do. We're in a similar position. We would add new Leads, then create the Contacts and Accounts when we converted to Opportunites. Contacts did not play a significant role for us. (Our contacts and leads have a 1-to-1 relationship as a practical matter.)
So, I guess I would ask you how you're adding the new names (as Leads). If you're importing them, just import them as Contacts first. If you give them an External Unique ID, you can easily add associate them when you import them as Leads.
It's not ideal, but I have found a different solution without using the Contacts.
