Emailing audio files

I wanted to email an audio file from my iTunes Library to another person. The song was from an album I had downloaded to my computer but not through the iTunes Store. I could not simply drag the audio file to he email page. All I got was the text describing the song. How do you send audio files by email?

Control-click it in iTunes, choose Show In Finder, and attach it from there.

  • Using Emailed Audio File as Ringtone

My friend emailed an audio file to me that he recorded, and I want to set it as his ringtone. I can't get it to show up in iTunes. I've downloaded a copy of it to my desktop and tried to add the file several different ways, but I've had no luck so far. Suggestions?

    Jimmy. Thanks for your reply.
Neither of your suggestions work work on my C3.00
If I go to my 'music' then 'my music' then find the track I want, then click on 'options', the only options I have are:
send - delete - add to playlist - details - search
If I go to 'Settings' then 'Profiles' then 'general' then 'Personalise' then 'ringing tone' then click on 'options, the only option I have is 'change'. if I select 'change', my options are 'tone downloads' and 'open gallery'.  Opening 'open gallery' only shows the pre-existing tones that came with the phone. Opening 'tone downloads' gives me an option of 'ringing tones' but this is empty.
It may also be worth adding that I have downloaded the mp3 I want to use to my 'music' file, and I can play it on my phone, but there doesn't seem any way to transfer it as a tone.
When I connect my phone to my computer and look at the phone, I can only see the 'my music' file which is on my memory card.  I can't access the 'tone downloads' or 'ringing tones' files.

  • How to email audio files in email

I recorded lectures with my iphone and now I am trying to email to my classmate but the email is not allowing files larger than 35 mb.  What should I do?  I have already encoded and zipped and still is 70.8 mb.  thank you in advance

Emails usually have a max. setting at 20 MB. Your best option is via a file transfer service. YouSendIt, for example, has a free option.

  • HT201301 How do I send an audio file via file sharing to other Mac and PC users instead of email?

I have created an audio file on iTalk and want to email it to my family. The file size is 25.62 MB.- too large to email it ( limit 5MB)  Would file sharing be a better solution and if so what are the steps I should take to get started?

You might try Dropbox for iPad and computer.  Both are free and include 2GB free storage.

  • How to create a voice audio file to email

I need to create a recorded voice (my own) file to email.. I have a usb logitech head set which I have used for input to a language program... so I believe I have the required hardware... If I can record an audio file on the hd... can probably do some rough edit using quick time pro... my problem is making the raw file... is there a simple application that came with the system that can be used or can I pick up a shareware or free app on cnet? maybe this is very simple or very difficult... usually the last..also have various apps such as final cut pro/express, toast, etc... but this all seems a bit overkill for a simple audio file...

    Hi,
iMovie will let you record using the internal mic. Press the Audio icon, record, and go to the Advanced menu> Extract Audio.

  • Email an audio file

I want to send an audio clip so I
I extracted the audio from a video I made on itouch.
Extracted the audio with mpeg streamclip and imported to itunes.
    Converted to mp3.
How do I email the file - or can I?
When I tried to email I got a audio bar but want to send an mp3 file.  Is this possible?
    Thanks
    Arthur

    Arthur,
Just attach the audio file to your email, the same way you would attach a photo or a PowerPoint.
Some mailers helpfully display an audio bar in case the recipient wants to play the song right away, but they can ignore it and just download the attachment.

  • Page document with audio file not sent by email

Hello and blessed Christmas to everybody.
    Here is my problem.
I created a pages documents with images and an audio file from iTunes inside.
Sharing it by Mail, (and converting it in PDF so that anybody without pages be able to open it) I see that the audio file is not present or not playing inside my mail.
Is this because of the conversion in PDF?
But I'm afraid of PC user not being able to see it if I let it in Pages.
    Thanks for your tips.
    Cathy

Of course! I must have been inattentive.      AsI don't have Adobe acrobat pro I sent everything in word and pages.
    Thanks

  • Using The Same Audio Files On Multiple Platforms

When I import new audio into logic - often it will say that is creating wave forms for the display.
Q: I notice that the audio files on disk do not show an altered modified date - so where are these wave form displays being saved - on the audio file or inside the logic song?
Q: I am interested in possibly going back and forth between logic and Pro tools LE - and at different times using the same audio files for both platforms. Assuming I am not doing any destructive editing - is it OK to use the same set of files for both platforms - or do I need to make duplicates (I'd rather not)? Also, how does this wave form display get dealt with by going back and forth between the two platforms?

A: the waveform overlays are stored in separate,
temporary files - *.ovm files or something, but my
memory is fuzzy on that for now. The original audio
files are not modified in any way.
Hmmm... I've wondererd about this, too, and as best I can tell, Logic DOES modify the original files.
I just imported some stereo interleaved AIF files into a project (with "copy external audio files to project folder" disabled), and I couldn't see any evidence of waveform creation--a disk search by date revealed nothing looking like waveform overviews, and there were no modifications to the AIF file dates.
So... the next time I imported some AIF files, I checked the file sizes before the import...
Sure enough, the files got bigger by about 100K after being imported into a Logic session, even though the file's timestamps were not changed.
Looks like maybe Logic does write the waveforms into the files themselves ?
On a related note, the manual suggests that it's possible to change the "copy external audio files to project folder" setting after creating a project, but I haven't found this anywhere other than File->New... anyone know ?
    Thanks!

  • How can I get an audio file on my iPhone without a computer?

I have no computer with me and I need to save an mp3 audio file in my email to the iPod part of my iPhone. Is it possible to do that without my computer that I use to sync my iPhone to?

No, it has to be imported to iTunes and synced to your phone.

  • How to add an audio file to a link

I am working on a project using IWeb and I am trying to figure out if it is possible and then, if it is how to add an audio file to a link. I would really be glad of your help as I am having problems meeting the requirements of the project if I don't make it work.
Also, is it possible when having added a movie clip from quick time player to have the clip start as soon as the page is "opening", that is without pressing the play button?
I am waiting in great suspense to see if anybody can help me out. If you have the answers to my questions, please send me an email at [email protected] - thank you so much :o)

    Hi Maiken
    Welcome to the discussion forums.
All you need is open iWeb, select text or image, open inspector, go to link, check the "enable as a hyperlink" box, in "link to" there's a teardown menu where you select "a file" and select the file you want to link to.
If you want to have it downloading look at [this|http://alyeska.altervista.org/en/iWeb_Downloads.html]
    For the second question:
select the movie file in iWeb go to inspector, then to the last icon (showing the quicktime logo) and check the box that say "Autoplay".
    Regards,
    Cédric

  • How do I listen to mp3 audio files on my iPhone 4s?

I have recently purchased and downloaded some mp3 audio files onto my personal computer.  I was able to transfer them to my itunes library.  I now want to listen to them on my iPhone 4s.  How do i do this?  If I go to the itunes store application, i can see all of my "purchases", and I can easily download those to my iphone.  But these particular audio files were not purchased from itunes.  So how do I get them to my iphone?  Thank you!!

I also have purchased and downloaded an mp3 audio file (not from itunes) onto my macbook air.  I was able to transfer it to my itunes library.  I now want to listen to it on my iphone 4s.  How do I do this?  If i go to the itunes store application, i can see  my "purchase"  .   I emailed the mp3 (it went to a downloader automatically).  I couldn't open it in email to listen to it on my iphone 4s.  So I purchased  idownloader pro".  still cannot listen to them on my phone.  Isn't there a way to transfer them without physically connecting the mac to my iphone?  afraid to do this as I screwed up my files, etc doing this in the past!! Any suggestions???    Thank you!!

  • Automating creation of MobileMe Gallery from audio files in iTunes

    Hi
I am wanting to create a MobileMe Gallery of a few songs in my iTunes library. The only option to do this is to wrap MP3 files in a .mov container as MobileMe gallery doesn't support audio files. I have worked out all the necessary steps to do this and would now like to automate the process. Here is the sequence I follow manually:
    1. Select tracks in iTunes
    2. Convert these Apple Lossless files to MP3
    3. Add MP3 files to playlist
    4. For each track in playlist:
    5. Convert album image (.jpg) in album folder to max 640 width (so movies will play on iPhone)
    6. Open resulting image in Quicktime Pro
    7. Open Audio File in Quicktime Pro
    8. Copy Image and Paste into Audio File in Quicktime Pro
    9. Share File to Email using Quicktime Pro (this is the best way I've found of creating a small .mov file which just creates a container the same size as the image file and the audio file - presumably there's a way of exporting in the same way)
    10. Drag .mov file created from Email created to MobileMe Gallery in iPhoto.
    11. Repeat for each track
So I am looking for a way of automating this as much as possible, and wondering if applescript or automator would be the best way to go.
Ideally I would also like the script/automation to be able to create a .mov file slideshow of all images in the album folder (sometimes there is more than one image there), dividing the number of images by the length of the track (perhaps using the 'Add to selection and scale' feature in Quicktime Pro).
Finally one issue I am experiencing - converting the image file to max width 640 does allow the movie file to be played in the MobileMe Gallery from an iPhone, but the file that opens in the Movie Player on the iPhone doesn't show the image(s) in the .mov file, it just plays the audio. I wonder why this is happening?
Any advice on any of this would be much appreciated!
    Thanks

  • Compress audio file to mp3 or aiff of 5 MB?

    Hello,
Does anyone know if I cam compress an audio file on GarageBand for the iPad 2? I'd like to take a file 30 minutes in length and be able to email it, so I need to compress it to 5 MB or less.

only thing I can think of is "share with iTunes" and then once the file is in iTunes, compress it again there, by going to iTunes -> preferences and on the general tab, about 3/4 of the way down, click Import Settings and then set your settings to MP3 and then choose custom from the settings drop down and then choose a really low kbps bit rate. You may have to experiment, I haven't had coffee and can't do the math right now to suggest a bit rate for a 30 minute file becoming a 5MB MP3. Good luck!

  • ITunes Match is deleting my Audio Files, How do I stop this?

I have asked this question before, but have not had time to get into it.
I use Radioshift(A Rogue Amoeba program) to record a few hours of radio everyday.  It sends the audio files to iTunes in a folder named radioshift and into sub-playlists matching each radio station name.  iTunes match will intermittently delete all of these audio files when it goes through its process of upload/download.  It is strange because it won't occur all of the time, but periodically it will wipe all of the files out and this continues for a period of time and then a few days later it leaves them alone.  I have tried moving the files to other playlists and it doesn't help.  I've emailed Apple on the issue and not gotten a response.  Does anyone else have this issue or know how to resolve it?

    Hello @adam100 ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
Uninstalling HP Connected Music should do the trick. If it is uninstalled, then you files cannot be displayed as HP Connected Music files.
You can always install it later if you want it
