Embed manually created servlet/dyamically built html into JSF Page.

Hi there,
I am wondering if anybody has ever tried embedding manually created pages (ie: using servlets to dyamically build an HTML page), inside of a JSF Page?
The reason I ask is I have about 3000 of these pages already in production and can't really take advantage of JSF, without massive rewrites.
Is there a way for the embedded page to communicate with the outer JSF Page?

That works fine Thanks. Now the issue i am facing is if i have one chart and one table in one form , the form is always displayed first then table even if the table is drawn first in design time. IS there any way to Hide the graph Because this component does not have the rendered property.
I want to render the graph conditionaly.Also Is it possible to change the graph type dynamically ie on selection of any radio button. I can get the handle of button in my Backing Bean.
I tried to put the graph in Form PAnelBorder as well as in table and set the rendered property to false but still the graph is showing.
Please help us....Pleas point us to some sample examples where thsi kind of scnario is done.
Thanks
Anshu

  • Configuring velocity to use into JSF pages

    Hello to all,
    I am newer with JSF and, I don't know how to insert Velocity code into JSF page. Is it possible? How I must configure my webapp to use Velocity+JSF?

  • "Manually" creating U3D files to import into Acrobat XI

    Has anyone here ever successfully tried to "manually" create a U3D file and open it in a Acrobat XI to save it as a PDF file?
    I am currently coding an U3D export filter for our self-developed CAD application. The resulting files (containing simple polygon meshes) can be opened and displayed by a commercial U3D viewer (SAP Visual Enterprise Viewer 7.0), but Acrobat X and Acrobat XI cannot open them. They only display useless standard "Unable to open" message.
    Sample U3D files from the web open correctly in Acrobat XI although I fail to see any relevant difference when comparing them to the files my filter creates.
    Our U3D files only feature a default view and a few, simple polygon meshes created using CLOD Mesh Declaration and CLOS Base Mesh Continuation. Everything is correctly contained in modifier chains. The file does not use compression.
    I checked the "U3D Supported Elements" documents from Adobe and I'm sure to have met all conditions therein.
    Any help or tip would be very much appreciated because I am out of ideas what to try...
    Best regards
    Stefan Malz

    For an illustration of my problem, here is a most simple file that I created:
    http://www.cad6.com/archive/Merge1.u3d
    This file opens correctly in SAP Visual Enterprise Viewer 7.0, but not in Acrobat XI Pro. A similiar file destilled from a sample file found on the web, however, works:
    http://www.cad6.com/archive/Merge2.u3d
    The only difference I can see is that is uses compression and a CLOD Progressive Mesh Continuation instead of a CLOD Base Mesh Continuation. But according to the latest version of "U3D Supported Elements", this should not make any difference.
    Any idea why Merge1.u3d does not open? Please?!

  • Inserting Fireworks HTML into a Dreamweaver template

    I've created a dreamweaver cs3 template for my website. I've
    also created a menu in fireworks which has popup menu's. If I
    create a new page (not from a template) and insert the fireworks
    html, everything works fine when I try to preview it.
    However, if I insert the fireworks html into a page created
    from a template, or even the original template file, the image of
    the menu is inserted and can be viewed, but the popup menu's do not
    appear. Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Which version of FW? If FWMX 2004 or earlier, you would need
    to read this
    carefully -

  • Insert ImageReady HTML Into Page

    I created a very cool navigational graphic with remote
    rollovers, all sliced up and ready to go. I did the standard 'Save
    Optimized As...' and have an HTML file with a subfolder of graphic
    image slices.
    Now I want to insert this HTML into a page and it won't do
    it. I even downloaded the exchange extension for this, but that
    extension was created back in 2000 and apparently it doesn't work
    (you get an error if you try to insert it). You can't use the
    Insert Fireworks HTML either because it says it's not a fireworks
    doc and rejects the insert.
    OK... now why is it the best image editing software is not
    compatible with the best web design software..... when they are
    both owned by adobe now? suggestions other then reslicing
    everything all over in fireworks?

    Copy and paste? It shouldn't be hard....

  • How do I pass input values from a html page to a jsf page

    hi,
    In my project,for front view we have used html pages.how can I get input values from that html page into my jsf page.for back end purpose we have used EJB3.0
    how can I write jsf managed bean for accessing these entities.we have used session facade design pattern and the IDE is netbeans5.5.
    pls,help me,very urgent
    thanx in advance

    Simplest way is to rewrite html page into jsf page.
    You can use session bean in your managed bean like this:
    import javax.naming.Context;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    public class ManagedBean {
    private Context  ctx;
    private Object res;
    // session bean interface
    private Service service;
              public ManagedBean() {
                try{
                     ctx = new InitialContext();
                     res = ctx.lookup("Service");
                     service = (Service) res;
               catch(Exeption e){

  • How to embed html into keynote

    I want to embed the youtube code for a vid into my keynote presentation so when I export to flash I can post the entire thing online, the presentation will work and I can watch the vid too. Any thoughts on how to embed html into a keynote page?
    Thanks,

    The only way to get video out of Keynote that I know of, is the QuickTime export. Now, if you use another tool after that (to convert the QuickTime video) that might be able to work for you.

  • Problem to display Animated Gif from HTML into JEditorPane

    I have a problem displaying animated gif that comes from URL (HTML) into JEditorPane.
    Let me show you the source I have:
    * @author Dobromir Gospodinov
    * @version 1.0
    * Date: Dec 6, 2002
    * Time: 6:47:53 PM
    package test.advertserver;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.io.IOException;
    public class Test {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              JFrame frame = new JFrame();
              JEditorPane ed = new JEditorPane();
              try {
                   ed.setPage("http://localhost:8200/servlet?key=value");
              } catch (IOException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              JPanel panel = new JPanel();
              panel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(500, 500));
              panel.add(ed);
              frame.getContentPane().add(panel);
              frame.pack();
              frame.setVisible(true);
    }Part of the returned from servlet HTML includes an img tag:
    <img src="/images/MyAnimatedGif.gif" alt="animated gif comment" width="480" height="50"  border="0">Let us assume that MyAnimatedGif.gif has 10 frames and gif is looped - when the 10th is dipslayed it has to display the 1st and so on.
    JEditorPane displays frames from 1 to 10 correctly but does not start from the first again. Instead JEditorPane displays a broken image.
    I locate where the problem arise:
    JEditorPane has an HTMLEditorKit that creates javax.swing.text.html.ImageView instance for every IMG tag.
    And here is the problem:
    ImageView has an ImageObserver necessary for the asynchronous image download. ImageObserver has the imageUpdate method. But this imageUpdate method is never called with ALLBITS flag raised up. Instead, after the last frame of MyAnimatedGif.gif is downloaded the imageUpdate method is called with flag ERROR raised up. Obviously this is a bug of Sun's implementation. Finaly the flag ALLBITS has to be received for normal end of image observing. But ALLBITS flag does not come.
    So, can anybody help me how to load an animated gif within JEditorPane completely.
    Thank You in advance,
    Dobromir Gospodinov
    P.S. If somebody of you wants to debbug what happens within ImageView will have to implement it (and related classes too, because of the limited package visability) borrowing the source from Sun's ImageView.

    I'm also having this problem with java 1.4.1 I discovered that some animated gifs work fine, while others stop animating. Running with java 1.3.1 fixed the problem. I'm going to report this as a bug

  • How to bind manually created recordsets in DW bindings tab..??

    I've got a little problem where I'm working with XML web
    services to get product data to my web site. I'm actually parsing
    all of the XML data and feeding it into an ASP recordset in my page
    manually. I have a 3rd party shopping cart (Web Assist eCart 3.7)
    that uses the bindings tab in DW to populate your shopping cart
    with data from a recordset. The problem is, since this recordset
    wasn't actually created with DW it doesn't show up in the bindinds
    tab and my shopping cart extension doesn't work then (it simply
    grays out the dynamic shopping cart option because there isn't a
    recordset available...so it thinks.)
    So, is there a way that I can bind my own recordset data in
    DW so that it can be used just like a regular recordset created in
    DW? I see how you can bind Session variables and Application
    variables but I don't see anything for binding a manually created
    recordset.
    Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Did you check with WebAssist forum or FAQ or support
    information over there, no? I have found that they have a thorough,
    well-documented PDF on how to do so has been very clear and
    concise.
    To work with data source, make *sure* that you define the
    site profile correctly in order to make it work, so that datasource
    file being pointed or referenced by HTML source code to work
    together vice versa.
    Secondly, did you know that ASP support is kind of,
    relatively no longer support by Microsoft. You might want to
    reconsider this to work with ASP.NET. But it is my understanding
    that Microsoft focus more on ASP.NET than ASP these days. I don't
    know if I am being understand or get this impression correctly.
    Hopefully someone else help to correct me if I am being mistaken
    for that matter.

  • Manually creating buttons

    Please see
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=24317:91
    I need a button item next to a text box to do some javascript validation and if the validation succeeds do a popupURL.
    I cant use the builtin button item because
    a) For HTML buttons, it "hogs" the onClick event to do a doSubmit(). I want access to the onClick to do my validations
    b) For template based buttons, there isnt even a option to do anything other than submit the page! There is no URL Redirect feature like for region buttons.
    So, I ended up manually creating a button using the INPUT tag in the "Post Element Text" of my text item as you can see above
    Questions:
    1. Is this (manually creating form items) in the post element text ok?
    2. Why doesnt the top of the button line up with the top of the text box? They are in the same table cell.
    Thanks

  • Javascript code missing when inserting Fireworks html into DW document

    I tried to insert fireworks html in a Dreamweaver file. After importing the fireworks html in the Dreamweaver document, the associated Javascript code was missing.
    Of course, the Fireworks html file includes the Javascript code and works properly. It is just that when I insert the Fireworks html into the Dreamweaver file, the associated Javascript code gets lost although the manual clearly says that fireworks html is inserted "along with its associated images, slices, and JavaScript".
    I use Fireworks CS5 and Dreamweaver CS5, but I also tried it using FW CS4 and DW CS4 which did not solve the problem.
    I tried two ways to insert the html code (both with the same negative result):
    1.) using the DW menu: Insert > Image Objects > Fireworks HTML
    2.) Copying the HTML to the clipboard in Fireworks, and then pasting it into the Dreamweaver document
    The Fireworks and the Dreaweaver files are both HTML4 docs.
    Of course, I could insert the Javascript code manually, but then I would have to detach the associated template from the DW doc, and I would rather not do that because then later updates to the site will become more complicated.
    BTW, I also tried to insert the fireworks html in another Dreamweaver document not using any template, but the JavaScript code got lost though.
    I would be very grateful if somebody had an idea how to solve this  problem.
    Many thanks for your help!

    Dear Murray,
    I believe you can solve your problem by changing this -
    </head>
    to this -
    <!-- #BeginEditable "head" --><!-- #EndEditable -->
    </head>
    by editing this template directly.
    I tried this, but it did not change anything. As I wrote before, the JavaScript code is not even inserted when I use a "blank", not-template-controlled DW page.
    But nevertheless, your hint is very helpful. By making the complete head editable, I can at least insert the Javascript code manually.
    But is the javascript that is currently shown there part of the FW HTML insertion?  Do you want to preserve that on the child pages?
    It belongs to the template. And yes, I want to preserve it on the child pages. I just want to insert this into the head of the child page:
    function MM_swapImage() { //v3.0
      var i,j=0,x,a=MM_swapImage.arguments; document.MM_sr=new Array; for(i=0;i<(a.length-2);i+=3)
       if ((x=MM_findObj(a[i]))!=null){document.MM_sr[j++]=x; if(!x.oSrc) x.oSrc=x.src; x.src=a[i+2];}
    Maybe we should see the FW code you are trying to insert?
    Sure. Here is the code I tried to insert (of course, most of the Java Script does not need to be inserted as it is already in the template):
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

  • Creating Flash/Html Website Front Page

    HI, i hope someone can help clear up my confusion.
    Im creating a website in flash at the moment. I want the
    first page of the site to be am HTML page where people without
    flash can view the page (download flash if they havent got it) then
    enter the site. Is this initial HTML page which will link to the
    main flash site created within flash somehow or is it created in a
    programme such as dreamweaver then links to the flash movie?
    Thanks so much for any help (im new to flash so a bit unsure
    of the complete process off making the site accessable for people
    withouth flash and publishing to the web)
    Adam

    if ur using front page it easy...you don't link to individual
    flash files but to html pages with flash embedded in them. you
    create your flash website...and make sure you publish it by
    selecting HTML and Flash in the publish settings..you embed the swf
    file into a html page by opening the published html in notepad
    copying the html and pasting it into front page. this html allows
    the flash site to be seen. within that html there is a line of code
    for an alternate page which will lead people without flash to a
    different page..you can change this if u wish to one that you have
    created allowing people to download flash player.

  • How do I combine 3 HTML into 1 long HTML in DW?

    Question 1:
    I'm designing a few layouts for my blogspot recently, and have faced several problem. One of those is regarding "HTML coding", I will be using Illustrator to slice and upload to Dreamweaver, but I realised that Illustrator and Photoshop does not work the same way. Illustrator cs6 does not have "save as HTML", and it can only "save as images". So I would like to ask where should I get started at?
    Question2:
    I wanted to upload my own HTML layout design(from Dreamweaver-question 1) for my personal blogspot. But I realise that blogspot only allow 1 HTML code for the entire website design and when I did my web design in Dreamweaver (my website consists of HOME, ABOUT, CONTACT pages), it has a total of 3 HTML code for different pages and I couldn't upload it to my blogspot. So I would like to ask how can I actually do to combine all 3 HTML codes into 1 HTML code. Thank you.

    I don't think you want to combine all of the HTML into one file. That doesn't make too much senese. If you wanted to, then just copy everything from all 3 files between <body></body> and paste into one html file between <body></body>. I think what you're trying to do is create seperate static pages. I would read/youtube how to setup a blogger website. • How to load a large amount of HTML into HTML region?

    I am trying to display a clickable image map (HTML <map>) in a region. The HTML source for the image map is fairly large and will not fit in the Apex editor (HTTP 400 error when I Apply Changes). I would also rather not manage that much HTML in the Apex web editor. So I stored the code in a file and added it to my applications file storage.
    I have tried various methods of getting the HTML to load when the page is rendered. I tried a URL region, but that leads to all kinds of ACL/security issues that we do not want the customner to have to deal with. i also tried some PL/SQL:
    DECLARE
    l_file_id NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    SELECT id
    INTO l_file_id
    FROM APEX_APPLICATION_FILES
    WHERE filename = 'myhtml';
    APEX_UTIL.GET_FILE(
    p_file_id => l_file_id,
    p_inline => 'YES');
    END;
    But that just replaces the entire page, not just the region it's defined in (even when the HTML is without <head> etc).
    Various attampes wih #APP_IMAGES#myhtml and &APP_IMAGES.myhtml just give me the translation of the APP_IMAGES variable.
    So, how do I load a large chunk of HTML into a region dynamically at run time? I also need this to interact with APEX in the sense that JavaScript will set APEX variables and cause a SUBMIT when the use clicks on the image map.

    Hi Andy,
    ATD wrote:
    Does your HTML define the regions/points on the map using AREA tags?Yes. it is actually generated using MapSefrver from huge tables of SDO_GEOMETRY (Oracle Spatial).
    If so, you could define a report template that does this and use this for a report based on a table that has the settings for shape, coords, href etcHmm, the code (HTML map) is auto-generated so if I understand you correctly, this might be difficult. One of the HTML is approximately 180KB of text.
    I found a way to do this using dynamic PL/SQL. I created a new table that has a varchar filename and a CLOB for the file data. I then imported the HTML into the table using SQL Developer (copy&paste, nice!). I then created an HTML region and used the following:
    declare
    html clob;
    len number;
    st number;
    c number;
    begin
    select length(data)
    into len
    from FILES
    where name = 'state_query.html';
    st := 1;
    while len > 0
    loop
    if len > 32000 then
    c := 32000;
    else
    c := len;
    end if;
    select substr( data,st,c )
    into html
    from FILES
    where name = 'state_query.html';
    htp.p( html );
    st := st + c;
    len := len - c;
    end loop;
    end;

  • How can I make this possible? Loading another html, into a table?

    Hello everyone!
    Im using Dreamweaver CS3. I have a website thats all image based - which is not good because google or any search engine cant really pick up any keywords. So I have a table filled with images, Id like to take an image in the center out, and put in some type of code that says "load blah.html into the current row and collumn of this table. I attached an image of what I mean.
    Id like to do this because it will be easier for me to update 1 html file and have it load that into the master html file. Is this even possible?
    If anyone is interested in checking out the source of the page im working on please feel free to go here:

    Thanks in advance for anyones help.

    Well, I mean 1 row and 1 column, sorry - but when I go to type something in there it starts typing in the middle - is there a text field I can stick in that empty spot? Where I can write whatever and for it to be as long as I make it, without making the master table change in length?
    Here's an example of some scrolling text inside a table cell...
    http://dreamweaverresources.com/tutorials/scroller.html
    Easy enough to see how it's done, I've provided the code  :-)
    You can set up the scrolling div in the table cell and then use an include file to populate the text into that div...  that way,, you can make changes to the include file and it will be updated automatically on the page.
    Here's a quick and easy article on creating server side includes  (SSI).  Use this to create your 'include file' that goes into that scrolling div.
