Embed Native Executables in JAR for later execution?

Hi to all!
I've the need to write a Java program, which has to execute a native executable for a specific task. The executable is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. I wanted to embed the native program into the jar archive and to execute it (differently depending on the platform) with ProcessBuilder.
But, until now I didn't find a solution and I don't really know how to achieve this.
The most important thing is to not have to rely on a installation process which would place the executables at a fixed place.

i have a system Solman 7.1
i'm upgrading Solman from SP04 to SP13 using SUM (SP12 patch 10) on windows 2012
and i faced error during Excution phase 5.6 in JAVA Stack.
phase : Excution - Actual Update
Error : An error has occurred during the execution of the Deploy software components step.
Could not stop SDM server. Cannot execute Java process for stopSDM with parameters 50018. Return code condition success evaluated to false for process java.exe for action ACTION_STOP

I tried to solve the issue first from my side but i am getting some different error.
1)JDeveloper version - jdev 11.1.3.0
2)how is the save point created?
save point is created implicitly when exits form bounded taskflow (as i setted the crirical flag)
3 )how is it recovered?

1) i have created the one taskflow. in taskflow i have one jsff page and it has one datacontrol (created viewobject and draged it in jsff. where i have some inputtext box).
2) i have added following entries in the adf-config.xml file...

Error in executing a process for compilation for jsp

We have an iView which has jsp pages in it. We deployed the par & try toaccess the iview & we get an exception. The issue is that the iview has a jsp page. At the run time, this jsp is converted into a .java file
without problem. But EP engine is having issues compiling this java fileinto .class file.
On the other hand this same iview works just fine on our windows installation. Only Solaris EP install is having problems. The version onwindows as well as on Solaris is EP6 SP9.
Here is the exact version on the solaris EP:

The web dynpro iview works fine.

Hi, seems like there's some typo in your jsp. Check the .java file listed with a java editor (like eclipse or devstudio.). Maybe you'll find the typo this way faster.

Error in executing a process for Flex compilation ....exceeds 32K...

deployin my model i get the following error-message.
"Error in executing a process for Flex compilation, Error: Branch between 64935 and 97770 around line 0 exceeds 32K span. If possible, please refactor this component.

Do i delete a sort-element from my model it is deployed very well. So what does this message exactly mean and how can I locate where the error occurs and how can i fix that problem because i need this sort-element to be in my model.

Hi Tobias,
You are receiving this error due to a current limitation in the Flex server. How you can fix this is to split the iView you are currently working on into two iViews, and embed one within the other. This will decrease the size of the current iView you are receiving the error for and eliminate this problem.

Using the Execute Preloaded Option for ABAP Dataflows in SAP BODS

Hello All,
This is regarding the use of Advanced Option in SAP Application Type (ECC) Datastore settings in SAP BODS 4.2, where there are two options to select from for ABAP Execution Option property: (1)Generate and Execute and (2) Execute Preloaded. Since our ECC client is often locked by BASIS team even on DEV environment, we would like to make use of the second option 'Execute Preloaded' so that we could extract the data from ECC tables without having to ask the BASIS team to unlock the ECC client every time before extraction.
The problem is that we are getting an error upon generating and uploading the ABAP program to ECC client. I have searched the blogs and so far I have only found that there are certain ABAP programs or function modules that come with SAP BODS which need to be installed by BASIS team on ECC side to allow the ABAP dataflows to be generated and uploaded to ECC server. I would appreciate it if anyone could provide a list of which function modules BASIS needs to install on ECC or a blog that provides details around using this option.
So far, from the SAP BODS designer, we are performing below steps but getting an error upon generating and uploading the ABAP dataflow program:
1. Create a test ABAP Dataflow using SAP ECC datastore. Provide the ABAP program options.
2. Right click, select Generate ABAP Program.
3. Once the ABAP Program Generation Dialog box appears, check the box "Upload Generated Program".
4. Upon clicking OK, we are getting the following error:

The BASIS team reviewed steps provided in the BODS document and attempted to install the Function Modules but now none of the BODS jobs would work. All BODS jobs are being terminted with the Syntax Error error when extracting data from ECC using ABAP dataflows:

How to schedule a workflow for recurring executions: The solution

Scheduling a workflow for recurring execution has been long awaited in WFA, perhaps from 2.0 time. The following document shows how to get it done. I've also explained the logic behind it. It’s very simple to use, meets every requirement which one can have from a scheduler and of course highly flexible. Let's go!! The Real stuff. What is this? Is this actually a scheduler? No. This is actually a command in your workflow, but a special 'magical' command. This 'magical' command logic is built using the answers for the following questions: Can a workflow be scheduled for a delayed execution in a future time? Yes, but only one execution instance. If you want the next execution, execute the workflow again providing the same set of inputs and the execution date/time.During workflow execution, can a command inside a workflow get to know what is the name of the workflow? YesDuring workflow execution, can the command know what is the job execution id? YesIs there any programmatic interface available to know what are the user input provided or a particular job execution? YesCan a command inside a workflow trigger another workflow? Yes.Can a command inside the same workflow trigger itself? Absolutely yes. I've ticked all boxes needed to build such a solution. The solution is to make the workflow a smart workflow, so smart that it can schedule itself for the next execution. It no longer needs any other task scheduler to tigger it. WFA provides a large set of REST APIs for other 3rd part SW integration. But I also can make good use of these APIs to make smart workflows. I have always believed that WFA should not only be seen as a framework for automating Storage boxes or server, but just about any task( inside a computer of course) which is done manually. WFA is an awesome product indeed. So this is a command called "Workflow Scheduler" which you can put in your workflow as another command. Prerequisites: You need PowerShell 3.0 on your WFA server. I certainly could have done it for PoSH2.0 as well, but life for web interfaces using PowerShell is so much easier with Posh3.0. Posh3.0 is a big jump from 2.0. WFA is fully supported to work on Posh3.0. Its available by default in Win2012, Win2008 can be upgraded, Win2003 users can't use it. Add credentials of a WFA Admin/Architect in you WFA itself with Name/IP: localhost Match: ExactType: OtherName/IP: localhostUsername: <WFA Admin/Architect Username>Password: <User Password> 3. Minimum WFA version 2.2. This is only needed for Importing the dar. I've provided the command code in text too. The command code is the real deal. How to use it? If you have a workflow which you want for recurring executions, just add this command "Workflow Scheduler" in it. The command takes parameters for the workflow execution intervals. For example minsInterval for executing this workflow every x minutes, or daysInterval for executing the workflow etc.Now just like a normal workflow execution execute this workflow deciding what is the trigger time. Example: Suppose you want the execution every day at 10:00 PM.So provide daysInterval = 1 And execute the workflow for a delayed execution at 10:00 PM. You can pick the day to start as you wish. The workflow will execute at 10:00 PM and when this execution reaches our magical command "workflow scheduler", this command will trigger the same workflow with same set of inputs for the next execution at 10:00 PM tomorrow. And so on an so forth. I’ve attached a very simple example workflow here to help you understand. An Example of a workflow scheduled for recurring execution Daily at 11:30 PM starting 10-March-2015 How to stop/suspend this recurring execution? Easy. You just abort the next scheduled job execution in Execution=> Execution Status. The cycle will stop. How to resume it? Easy again. Just resume the same aborted job. The cycle restarts. Can I change the schedule execution time? Yes. After aborting the current execution, you can resume the same workflow at a new time. Execution interval can't be modified as you can't change the command parameters. But the recurring execution now can occur at a new time. Where or which position to place this “workflow scheduler” command in your workflow? At the beginning ? At the end? Or somewhere in the middle. This completely depends on your choice. See some below cases. You don't want the next job execution scheduling to happen if any of the commands in my current workflow execution fails: Put command “workflow scheduler” in the end. It will trigger the schedule of the next job execution only when all real original commands of your workflow have passed. else not. You want continuous job executions irrespective of the workflow command failures: Put it in the beginning. It will trigger the schedule for next execution before any of the actual command begin executing. You want an approval before the next execution job is scheduled: Add an approval point before the comamnd. So it’s all left to you. Can an operator decide the execution schedule? Yes, but which workflows will be available to him/her for this recurring execution will have to be decided by the designer. This is a good thing to have as it serves for access control in a way. The Architect/Admin can now restrict which workflow can be put for recurring executions. Operators can’t execute just any workflow available to him for automatic recurring execution. And the workflow designer can also choose which scheduling parameter is to be made a variable for the operator. For example the designer want the operator to schedule a given workflow only for weeks Interval and not months or days i.e. he/she can only chose to schedule for weekly, biweekly etc. executions and nothing else. For this the designer can define a User-Input variable only for weeksInterval parameter. It’s Done. You want workflow execution to be scheduled either for daily or once in 2 days but not any other. You can restrict this. Or he/she wants to give full freedom to the operator make his/her own decision about scheduling, he defined user-input variable for all scheduling parameters. The workflow designer wants weekly schedule but the day should not be a weekday: You can even do this. Is this flexible enough for my requirements? I’ve attached the very command code. You can modify the command as per your requirements. Suppose you want daily execution of a certain workflow at 10:00 PM but skip a day of execution if the day is a Monday. Modify the code check for the day and add another day if it’s a Monday. Its posh code and highly readable. So you can see how this can be used in a variety of ways. This is the beauty of a programmatic solution. Its highly flexible, it allows users to design solution based on their requirements. Flexibility is the heart & soul of WFA. Thats why I like it. I have a workflow but I don't want to modify it by adding a new command in it. Can I still use this solution? Yes but with WFA 3.0 on wards. WFA3.0 allows to create modular workflows. Create a parent workflow with you actual workflow as a child workflow in it. Add our “workflow scheduler” command too. So now you don't need to touch your existing workflow. How to execute a jar file in a java application

Hi,
I've already try to execute a jar file by this way :
Runtime.getRuntime().exec(java -jar myJarFile.jar);
But the problem is that the display doesn't launch. Normally a "JFrame" display.
however the corresponding process is launched.
So i would to know if there is a way to execute a Jar File without using the Runtime class.
Is there a specific class for the Jar File?

Create a 'manifest' file pointing to the 'main' class, jar it into the .jar file, place it onto your desktop - or whereever you can click on it, and click on it.

How to run multiple CodedUI Ordered Tests over multiple Test Agents for parallel execution using Test Controller

we are using VS 2013, I need to run multiple Coded UI Ordered Tests in parallel on different agents.
My requirement :
Example: I have 40 Coded UI Test scripts in single solution/project. i want to run in different OS environments(example 5 OS ). I have created 5 Ordered tests with the same 40 test cases.
I have one Controller machine and 5 test agent machines. Now I want my tests to be distributed in a way that every agent gets 1 Ordered test to execute.
Machine_C = Controller (Controls Machine_1,2,3,4,5)
Machine_1 = Test Agent 1 (Should execute Ordered Test 1 (ex: OS - WIN 7) )
Machine_2 = Test Agent 2 (Should execute Ordered Test 2 (ex:
OS - WIN 8) )
Machine_3 = Test Agent 3 (Should execute Ordered Test 3
(ex: OS - WIN 2008 server) )
Machine_4 = Test Agent 4 (Should execute Ordered Test 4 (ex:
OS - WIN 2012 server) )

I have changed the “MinimumTestsPerAgent” app setting value
as '1' in controller’s configuration file (QTController.exe.config).
When I run the Ordered tests from the test explorer all Test agent running with each Ordered test and showing the status as running. but with in the 5 Test Agents only 2 Agents executing the test cases remaining all 3 agents not executing the test cases but
status showing as 'running' still for long time (exp: More then 3 hr) after that all so its not responding.
I need to know how I can configure my controller or how I can tell it to execute these tests in parallel on different test agents. This will help me reducing the script execution time.
I am not sure what steps I am missing.
It will be of great help if someone can guide me how this can be achieved.

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
As far as I know, we cannot specify coded UI ordered test run on specific test agent. And it is mainly that test controller determine which coded UI ordered test assign to which test agent.
Generally, I know that if we want to run multiple CodedUI Ordered Tests over multiple Test Agents for parallel execution using Test Controller.
We will need to change the MinimumTestsPerAgent property to 1 in the test controller configuration file (QTControllerConfig.exe.config) as you said.
And then we will need to change the bucketSize number of tests/number of machines in the test settings.

How can i execute a .jar or .jad through java?

I want to execute a .jar like i do in SE using the class RunTime in ME does anybody know how can i do it? There is no method exec in MIDP Runtime API

I have a MIDlet that receives a jar file from another PDA using DatragramConection and FileConnection. It's working well. When i'm running my application i'll send the jar file to another aplication and this application should receive, execute and return the result. For example, if i have a simple program that prints Hello World. I'll send the program the other PDA will execute and then return a String. I have to call the jr file through java because my MIDlet wil be already running.
Could you understand my problem?

I need to call some native code from the CS extension using the NativeProcess API.
Is there any way to distribute a native executable file inside the extension package?
It looks like there is a way to include an "ordinary" file into a hybrid extension, however the file has to be installed into one of pre-defined locations (such as "$applicationsupport").
The problem is that in order to create a NativeProcess object in the extension code, I need to know the exact path of the executable, and I can't seem to find a way to find out where exactly the executable was placed by the extension installer.
Is there a way to install an executable into the extension folder (which I can get using CSXSInterface.getInstance().getSystemPath(APPLICATION))?

Yep, the answer depends on how you're packaging your extension.
If you're using Extension Builder, you just need the executable to be automatically copied to the bin-debug folder during the build process. The simplest way to achieve this is to put the executable underneath the src/ folder. Another option is to make your own resources/ directory and add it to the project source path (see the section "Adding resource folders to the project source path" here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Flex/4.0/UsingFlashBuilder/WS6f97d7caa66ef6eb1e63e3d11b6c4ce74 9-7fd8.html). Once you've got it copying to the bin-debug folder you're set, you can launch or export as usual and your executable will end up in the extension folder.
If you're using ucf.jar, just make sure that your executable is in the extension folder you're packaging.
You shouldn't need to create a hybrid extension in order to have a CS extension that uses NativeProcess.

Splitting and executing the query for each 1 lac and executing parallel.

We have a table with around 10 keys and each key is having more than millions of records for a given date.
And my requirement is to find the sum of the sale_price of each keys.
( example :
Select key, sum(sale_price) from table1 where date1=sysdate
group by key
Since, each set of key contains more than a millions of records, It's time consumption is too high.
Is thr any way to achieve as below,
For key 1 (assume 1 million records)
and we will spilt these into 100 parts and execute parallelly.
At the end get sum of all 100 parts.
Similarly for other keys....
Is it possible to divide the records into 1 lac each and give it for parallel execution ?

If the key column is also the partition key, I would expect that to work well with parallel query. What have you tried that isn't working? Also what is your Oracle version?

In Pagination, we are using Modified version of SQL Query 3) with ROWNUM as mentioned below :-

Issue:- When using two % in like in the above query i.e. REFERENCE like '%KMF22600920%' AND ROWNUM <= 20 ) , it is going to infinite.
Could you please let us know what is the issue with two % used in like and rownum

This would be easier to diagnose if there was an explain plan posted for the 'good' and 'bad' queries. Generally speaking using '%' on both sides precludes the use of any indexes.

How to force sql developer to prompt for user input for every execution ?

Environment: Oracle 11g (on Windows 7)
SQL Developer: *3.1.07*
I am executing a PL/SQL code off Sql Developer. The code uses substitution variables to prompt user for input. However,I am only prompted for the user input for the very first run of the code. For the subsequent executions, the code simply picks up the user input from the very first run. This behavior persists for all subsequent runs of the code.
I have executed the same piece of code from SQL*PLUS and the behavior seems normal (i.e. I am prompted for fresh input for every execution)
How can flush out the old user input so I can be prompted for new user input for every run of the code in sql developer?
