Embedded .wmv in adobe air = webkit

Hi everbody from Adobe Air team
I would like know if i can embedded .wmv file in my application in adobe Air and how do?
I visited site www.webkit.org but i dont see answer.
I have app air that have many video in wmv and .fla, but i can see only .fla.

I think so, since he saw on a blog from an Adobe employee of a solution next, but the links in this blog was broken.

Adobe AIR WebKit crash

Lately some of our users have been reporting that our application is crashing. It only happens on windows and not to every user. Looking at their event log, it appears it's webkit crashing:

Javascript keypress/onkeypress in air webkit not working on linux

i have this functionality in one of my web page where using javascript i capture the charCode and make a event.preventdefault() to filter out the typed character from a text input with in HTML.
My Air Browser developed in Adobe AIR when loads this html page with this javascript works only on windows.
When the same page if i run on the Air application on Linux OS the keypress airt triggering.
Does Adobe Air webkit having limitation for this particular event for LINUX.

-webkit-linear-gradient not working with Adobe Air 3.0

Hi -
I recently downloaded Adobe Air 3.0 after reading that gradients are now supported (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/ajax/articles/air_and_webkit.html), but I have not been able to successfully implement them. For example, I have the following CSS class defined:
.gradient_test {
     background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(#68AB34, #3D721B);
     padding: 5px;
     color: #FFF;
This should (and does in Chrome, Safari, etc) create a linear gradient going from light to dark green. But in Air it just appears as if no background has been applied to the selector. Am I missing some unique way to be able to apply gradients in Adobe Air 3.0?

I don't know why this hasn't been addressed. I'm seeing the exact same problem. I've tried every permutation, but haven't been able to generate a gradient using any existing standard for webkit or otherwise (even though it's allegedly supported).

EDIT: I discovered that when the app is compiled, the gradients work fine. This one is driving my crazy, because I want to be able to test them. I get a mix of CSS support, depending on how the app is run.
From Dreamweaver CS3 "Preview" - My CSS doesn't show gradients and shows embedded web fonts.
From ADL - My CSS fails almost entirely, but some if it gets loaded.
From the compiled AIR file: fortunately, everything seems to display correctly, but it's really a bad scenario for development / testing. Not sure what to do.

Installing Adobe AIR on Windows XP Embedded

Hello,
I'm working at a museum using kiosk type clients running Adobe AIR. One type of thin clients we're using is running Windows XP Embedded. I've tried installing standard Adobe AIR on it via web, but it keeps failing. Is there some way to get Adobe AIR up and running on the Embedded version of XP?

Any official word on this? It seems Flash Player is supported

Thanks for your help but still I can't install Adobe AIR on my computer yet. I have downloaded the latest Adobe AIR again and installed again. I still have the same error below.
I tried to find the log file in this directory: Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\AIR\logs but I do not find any log file for Adobe AIR.
I searched for this log file in all directories in my computer and still couldn't find any Adobe log. Please advise what should I do next?

Adobe Air on Windows XP Embedded?

So is this still the case - it wont run? I have to say that my experiments seems to confirm this. It would be nice to know from Adobe officially. XP embedded is used in Kiosks and therefore is a good market for us. I guess I will have to use Zinc till then.

Plug-in for Adobe Reader to display embedded WMV not available

My problem is that I have a PDF with an embedded WMV. When I attempt to open it, I get the following message:
    The PDF file contains media that requires an additional player. Please click 'Get Media Player' to
    download the correct media player. To play the media, you will need to close and restart the application
    once the player installation is complete.
When I go to download the correct media player, the Adobe web site, (http://www.adobe.com/special/acrobat/nomediaplayer.html), informs me that the third-party media player is not available for my system. It does, however, suggest visiting the Apple web site for QuickTime.
As a matter of course, I decided to install Flip4Mac which is an add-on to QuickTime that allows it to play Windows Media files. While this add-on does function according to specification, I still get the same error when I attempt to open the same PDF file.
Note that I am running Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).

Putting it bluntly, you shouldn't be embedding WMVs in PDF files anymore - it's called "legacy media" and it's been discontinued for security reasons. You can't author it in Acrobat X, and playback is disabled in all current versions of Acrobat and Adobe Reader unless the user changes their security options. Authors should be using Rich Media annotations, which embed FLV or H.264 video and play cross-platform via an internal copy of Flash Player.
The weblink fired by Reader when it encounters legacy media for which the OS has no registered handler understands that you're on a Mac - and as there are no primary players for WMV files on OS X, that's what it tells you. Adobe does not link to third-party add-ons for other software, and even with those installed it will continue to complain unless the add-on has changed the file type associations, so that WMV files automatically open in Quicktime.

No, you need to compile a "bundle" with ADT on each platform. On Windows it creates a directory with an .exe and the AIR runtime. On OS X it creates a .app file.

Problem Description: If we had loaded youtube.com video url in a view stack and navigate to other index of stack or away from we UI screen within the same native window video or embeded tag of flash player or any other embed object will be displayed on top of all screens layer in same position of where the object should be placed in side of html loader only.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) go to http://get.straweb.com/StraWebBrowser/StraWebBrowser.air download and install
2) load 2 tabs and in the 3 tab load video player of youtube.com which will a sample video
before completing the load of 3 tab which trying to load video from youtube.com, navigate to other tabs 1 or 2 in few second once the flash player of youtube.com video player is load it will display in the current tab or UI screen.
3) Try navigating to other tabs than youtube.com loaded tab you see the flash player is on top it stable.
4) navigate to 3 tab and try to navigate to other tab you can observe that so how it will not show that flash player and only visible in that 3 tab which is fine.
Actual Result: Embedded tag of html page displaying on top of all layers of Adobe air application native window
Expected Result: Embedded tag of html page should only displayed in side htmlloader
This you can replicate in any adobe air plugin update and on any Hardware and Environment.
Applicable to all sdk versions of adobe air.

Embedding HTML page into Flex using Adobe AIR

This is Siva Kumar. Need help in embedding an HTML in Flex .
We are using Adobe Air. To embed an HTML in Flex we used
<mx:HTML> tag. Its working fine but whts the problem is its
not allowing to download files / attachements. I tried to use
google flex iframes to resolve this issue. I am able to download
files/attachments if I open application as web / standalone. If I
try to open same application using adobe air its giving error like
" ExternalInterface is not available in this container.
Internet Explorer ActiveX, Firefox, Mozilla 1.7.5 and greater, or
other browsers that support NPRuntime are required"
Later wht I found is at present ExternalInterface is not
supporting adobe air.
Could anybody help me to resolve this issue. If anybody has

looks like your equipmentArray is empty. Put a breakpoint inside that method to see if there is any data.

Adobe Air on XPe (Embedded XP)

I saw a thread from about a year ago and wonder if there is any updates on this topic. Is Adobe Air supported on Embeded XP or Embedded Windows? Just wondering if anything has changed?

Webkit.dllのせいでappcrashになる adobe AIR 2.0以降がインストール出来ない

2.0以降のインストールをしようとすると下記のエラーが出ます。
AIR1.5まではインストール出来たのですが、airアプリケーションを実行すると同じエラーになります。
このwebkit.dllをローカル内全検索したんですが、どこにあるのか特定できず相当悩んでいます。

Use native webkit renderer instead of Adobe Air for web content (getting webgl running)?

I'm doing a little R&D right now to see what is possible with the DPS in order to evaluate if it's the right (powerful enough) tool for us. Right now it's for internal purposes, that is a DPS app/magazine as a means of showing our clients our work. One idea I had was trying to use WebGL features in order to create things such as turntables (or even 3D walkthroughs of things like fair booth designs with pre-baked textures in order to ensure proper performance), however unfortunately the content viewer seems to be using Adobe Air 4 for rendering web content, which means WebGL isn't supported. Am I right about this?
Is there any way how we can get around this? The Adobe Air viewer seems to be extremely limited in terms of HTML5 feature support, including lack of proper rendering of Edge Animate compositions.

If you are an existing DPS customer you can go to https://appbuilder.digitalpublishing.acrobat.com and create a custom viewer to test.

Embedding fonts at runtime in Adobe AIR

I'm trying to register fonts that are stored in an external SWF, and embed them at runtime into an Adobe AIR application. I'm currently using a File object to load the SWF, but am not sure how to register the fonts after that. Anyone has any ideas? Thanks!

This is the code I have. Basically I hit a button, a file open dialog comes up, and then I use a Loader to load the SWF. But how do I register the font after that? Is what I'm doing in fontLoaded() correct?
