Embedding A Calendar

Hello Whomever,
I would like to embed a Google or other type calendar into a web site that I have built with iWeb. (not the iLife '08 version). Google or whichever online calendar I use generates the HTML code and you copy and paste into your page. Since there is not a known way to me of getting access to the HTML in iWeb, is there any way I can embed one of these interactive type calendars? I have created a link which will take you outside of the site to Google or wherever, but would rather people could just view the calendar in place.
Thanks for any help!

Hi there,
You are right saying there is no HTML code access within iWeb. To do so, you need to publish your site and the open the .html pages with a text eidtor like TextEdit or Taco HTML Edit (http://tacosw.com/). You then can make your code changes, save and upload to your server. MassReplaceIt (http://www.hexmonkeysoftware.com/) is another great tool for code enhancement and/or changes.
To embed your calendar or whatever else on your page, you can use iWebMore (http://iwebmore.ctrl-j.eu/iWebMore.html). Like Taco and MassReplaceIt, these softwares are all free. You can watch the video http://web.mac.com/heathervenn/AustralianMac/iWeb_061.html to see how iWebMore works (scroll to the last video on the page).
Trust this helps.
Vonz.

  • Firefox does not load embedded google calendar month view (2014)

Recently (first complaint today), all of our embedded google calendars on our site stopped loading in Firefox browsers. Specifically, it is the month view. The calendar actually loads and the contents can be seen on agenda and week views. However, Month view remains empty (A google calendar framework appears complete with the tools that might normally be there[month selection, print, view tabs] but the expected calendar is not there, so it is quite short).
We have 3 online google calendars that are injected with the <object data> call. All three work in Chrome and Safari as they are designed to work. This is only effecting Firefox (have not tested IE). I reset firefox, and started it in safe mode. I also downloaded and ran Firefox 33,32,30,28, and 15. It effects them all.
So far I have only tested this on a Mac with Firefox, Safari, and Chrome
Let me know if you have any suggestions or if there is more information you may need.
    thanks

Thanks for the response. I do have data defined. However, type is not. The specs don't seem to make it necessary to specify both, but if that helps I can. The webconsole shows one error:
Use of getPreventDefault() is deprecated. Use defaultPrevented instead. That is an error in the jquery javascript code though.
Firebug doesn't show anything in its console.
I used iframe and the behavior is exactly sthe same. I'm beginning to think this is a google calendaring issue instead.
    Thanks again.

  • Embedding iCal calendars in web pages?

Is it possible to embedded your iCal calendars in web pages (either a .mac page or a privately owned page)?
    Katie

You can publish calendars live to both .mac and webdav enabled private servers.
It becomes difficult to place other content on the same page.

  • Problem with embedded upto calendar

Just recently, I ran into a problem where my embedded calendar from upto goes over my webpage. It never did this in the past. Is there anything I can do about it? I have a picture of how it looks currently. The url is http://www.griffithhistoricalsociety.org/calendarnewsletters.html

    Hi there,
This issue was actually the result of a glitch on our end. Everything is now fixed! Thank you for bringing that to our attention. Please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected] with any additional questions.

  • Embedded Google Calendar problem(FIXED)

I found the problem. It was a problem with the calendar itself (The calender I edit, not the embedded version) I just had to set it so the calendar was shared.

I read your other post and I may have to second the opinion of the other poster that we may need to see more.  It does not mean that something is wrong with the code you posted from Google, but if there is another error in your code, it could cause their code to not function properly.  If you cannot post your code for whatever reason, please be sure to run your page through the validator ( http://validator.w3.org/ ) and ensure there are no coding errors.  With that said:
When I am in design view on Dreamweaver it appears as a gray box. When I am in live view it works perfectly.
This is an expected behavior.  You are pulling content from an external source.  Until you turn on live view, or preview in a browser to make the internet connection to grab the page, there is nothing DW can show you.
Also when I go into live view 2 new codes appear on the bar on the top, obviously they are for the calendar.
I do not understand what you are saying here at all.  Can you post a screenshot?
In a browser (I have only tested with Internet Explorer since it is all we have at school) the page appears fine except where the calendar should be. that box just appears white (or maybe clear, the background is white)
Hard to say here again without knowing more.  IE version always helps because of quirks in different versions (prior to 9).  But it could be a firewall issue or it could be the damn Google bug that seems to never be fixed ( see this Google thread if that sounds like your problem - http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/maps/thread?tid=7e6c7959493cd6cd&hl=en ).

  • Calendar in 3.1, show weekly or daily with hour range

    Hi
First of all, i love this application!
    for my question,
I've embedded the calendar item into my application successfully.
On the weekly and daily views, Is there a way to display events in a time range instead of a single hour?
for example, i have an event between 09:00am to 01:00pm, how do i display it?
    Here is another example:
    07:00 ____________________________________
    08:00 ____________________________________
09:00 My event here, between 09:00am to 13:00.
    10:00
    11:00
    12:00 ____________________________________
    13:00 ____________________________________
    14:00 ____________________________________
    15:00 ____________________________________
    16:00 ____________________________________
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    >> Is there a way to display events in a time range instead of a single hour?
In the following thread, there is an idea, by Dimitri, Which might be helpful to you -
    Calendar .
The resolution of 1 hour is too crude for me, and there is the problem of a meeting starting in 09:30 (the system will put it at the beginning of the 09:00 cell) but the idea is still interesting, and need further working.
    Hope this helps,
    Arie.

  • Integrate Google Calendar API with Business Catalyst

    Hi there,
I don't think this can be done but thought I'd ask here before throwing in the towel.
I have a client website that uses an embedded Google Calendar. Uses iframe, works great, no issues.
The client (a school) would like to display a list of upcoming events for the year (term dates, holidays, important events, etc), using info from the Google Calendar (which we input in the Google Apps end).
I've looked at the "Agenda View" (Change calendar views - Calendar Help) but it is too inflexible to accomplish what I'm wanting. I've also tried FullCalendar (FullCalendar - Full-sized Calendar jQuery Plugin) and this also insufficient for what we're trying to do. I've also looked into is parsing the Google Calendar RSS feed as a list of events, but I believe I need access to server-side code for this.
I'm sure the Google Calendar API will enable me to do everything I want but my understanding is that it relies on being able to access server-side code which of course isn't possible with BC.
Has anyone found any way to integrate the Google Calendar API, or have any workarounds, suggestions, etc, that I haven't already covered?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.
    Luke

Credit goes to Mario for this post here: Display an external RSS feed in BC? which ended up providing the solution to my problem.
You can display public Google Calendar info via RSS by going to Settings > Shared: Edit Settings (under the Sharing column) > Calendar Details tab > Calendar Address (click on the XML icon)
This will provide a feed address which can then be displayed using zRSSFeed as per Mario's post.

  • Add Google Calendars?

    Hi there
I know that with the new iLife you can add google maps and google ads but is there a way to add in your google calendar? In google calendar you can go into your shared settings and find the embedded html version of the calendar to insert into your site but i'm seeing that google calendar and iweb do not like talk to each other. I simply copied and pasted the embedded html calendar into the desired page in iweb...maybe there was a step i missed?
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

The iFrame code isn't complete. When I tried Roddy's code with a complete iFrame statement it worked.
    <iframe src="http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?height=600&wkst=1&bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&s rc=roddymckay%40gmail.com&color=%232952A3" style=" border-width:0 " width="800" height="600" frameborder="0 show always, "auto" showed when need > Your browser does not support IFRAME </IFRAME>
Of course the calendar is not set for public viewing so that must be done as well. Didn't get to see if Roddy had any interesting appointments coming up.
    Best to You All,

  • Request: Please Critique This iWeb Site

Hello all! I'm hoping you can take a few minutes and look at a site I've created in iWeb. It's about 80 percent complete, so you will see some issues such as missing text, pink text, a few missing pictures, etc. The entire "Give and Support" section is still being written.
I'd really appreciate feedback from this community because I've relied heavily upon you and this message board to build this site. Your past discussions have been awesome resources.
It's for a place called Mt. Irenaeus, which is a Catholic Franciscan Retreat located in Western New York. It's run by a great group of Franciscan friars and I'm trying to help them communicate with a larger audience. Most of the people who know about this great place are graduates of a nearby university. For more objective details, read The New York Times profile in the Mountain Media section.
    A few notes:
-- I use MassReplaceIt for a variety of tasks, including changing the link colors. However, within the last three weeks, that code has stopped replacing and I've been left with Apple's default colors. Can anyone help?
-- Plan to add comments to the blog section once I receive more blog entries and as we get closer to launch in the next few weeks. It appears that Haloscan is the best option?
-- The embedded Google Calendar works only sometimes on Safari. Works fine on my PC. Any ideas?
-- I can't seem to get the RSS feed for the blog to save properly in my RSS reader. It ends up titled as "MyBlog."
    Here's the site:
    http://www.mounti.com/Mount_Irenaeus/home.html
The URL will change when it goes live; everything is in a test folder right now. Pages will move the root address when live.
In addition to the questions above, what do you think of the overall presentation? Content? What other iWeb gems can be added? As total strangers, does this site help communicate what the place is about?
    Thanks again, all.

In your website, in order to protect your content, you have this notice: "Copyright 2007, Mount Irenaeus Franciscan Mountain Retreat". But in the two "Mountain Chronicle" videos it appears that you are using a copyrighted soundtrack by Ennio Morricone from the film "The Mission". ...I say "appears" because I don't know for sure - I suggest you determine what the music is and check whether you can legally use it.
For works created in circumstances of employment or works known as “works for hire” (as is Morricone's composition) the term of copyright is 95 years from the date the work was first published. ...If the copyright owner were to discover your use of his work, you would probably receive an attorney's "cease and desist" order.

  • IFrames on Published Site

I have the site published to folder and FTPed to the domain where I want it. All site functions are active (blog, photo gallery, navigation), yet my two iframes do not work (one is an embedded Google Calendar, the other a Google Spreadsheet). They display with a Not Found box in their place. Published straight to my .Mac site (web.mac.com/user/...), both embeds work perfectly.
My domain supports PHP, and I've even been experimenting with .htaccess files to help along the server, to no avail.
Manual iframes work, but I'd prefer to have the native iWeb style because the other destroys the layout.

To simplify the troubleshooting process, this is the page with Google Calendar embedded (on .mac servers): http://web.mac.com/umparrothead/PropellerClubMiami/Events.html
Here is the same page on my own FTPed domain: http://www.miamipropellerclub.com/PropellerClubMiami/Events.html
This is the Spreadsheet embedded page on .mac: http://web.mac.com/umparrothead/PropellerClubMiami/Membership.html
And, finally, on the separate domain: http://web.mac.com/umparrothead/PropellerClubMiami/Membership.html
To note, this site was uploaded by Cyberduck.

I embedded a pdf in an Outlook appointment on my desktop.  The appointment synced with my iPad calendar correctly but the pdf did not come through.  Did I miss a setting on my iPad?
    Thank you

Then your family members will probably have bought their ipads with a data plan from some phone company like AT&T in the States. Maybe they even got it "sponsored", because they bought a data plan with it.
If you bought your "iPad only" from a hardware seller, you will have to get a data plan from some phone company. Seems like you only bougth the hardware! You can still use your ipad, however, and if you have an iPhone, you do not even need a sim card in your iPad, because it can use your iPhone's data plan.
That is what I did. I save the extra money for the 3G version, because with an iPhone 4 there is no need for an own sim Card in an iPad.
    But that is another topic.

  • Embedding an iCal calendar in an iWeb page

I'm designing a website to accompany the chemistry classes I teach. I *would like to embed the class calendar I made using iCal into one of the pages on my site. Is there a way to do this?*

There is a way to do it but it won't fit very nicely. What you do is use an HTML snippet with iFrame code:
    <iframe height="XXX px" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="yes" style="width:XXX px;border:none" src="URL to page to be embedded"></iframe>
You will have to adjust the height and width values to match the published iCal calendar. Since you can't resize the published iCal calendar it will be pretty big.
A Google calendar, on the other hand, can be resized and made to fix whatever size on the page you want. Like this demo page: Google calendar
There are applications that will sync iCal calendars with Google calendars.

  • Anyone has ideas how to create Google Calendar as an embedded web applet

    Hello...
Anyone has ideas how to create Google Calendar as an embedded web applet in CRM On Demand? I would like to create an embedded web applet to show up the user's Google Calendar. I may have users Google credentials saved in its user record of CRMOD.

This can be enabled with InBound SSO implementation where your CRMOD Credentials and Google Apps Credentials are mapped.
