Embedding Google Calendar or other HTML in AS3.0

Hello all; I am looking to embed a google calendar into a
flash file. Has anyone attempted this successfully. The embedding
code looks like this:
<iframe src="
http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=40j2e2qt3efr2rblk8r08fv530%40group.calendar.googl e.com&ctz=America/New_York"
style="border: 0" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0"
scrolling="no"></iframe>
Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

  • Firefox does not load embedded google calendar month view (2014)

Recently (first complaint today), all of our embedded google calendars on our site stopped loading in Firefox browsers. Specifically, it is the month view. The calendar actually loads and the contents can be seen on agenda and week views. However, Month view remains empty (A google calendar framework appears complete with the tools that might normally be there[month selection, print, view tabs] but the expected calendar is not there, so it is quite short).
We have 3 online google calendars that are injected with the <object data> call. All three work in Chrome and Safari as they are designed to work. This is only effecting Firefox (have not tested IE). I reset firefox, and started it in safe mode. I also downloaded and ran Firefox 33,32,30,28, and 15. It effects them all.
So far I have only tested this on a Mac with Firefox, Safari, and Chrome
Let me know if you have any suggestions or if there is more information you may need.
    thanks

Thanks for the response. I do have data defined. However, type is not. The specs don't seem to make it necessary to specify both, but if that helps I can. The webconsole shows one error:
Use of getPreventDefault() is deprecated. Use defaultPrevented instead. That is an error in the jquery javascript code though.
Firebug doesn't show anything in its console.
I used iframe and the behavior is exactly sthe same. I'm beginning to think this is a google calendaring issue instead.
    Thanks again.

  • Embedded Google Calendar problem(FIXED)

I found the problem. It was a problem with the calendar itself (The calender I edit, not the embedded version) I just had to set it so the calendar was shared.

I read your other post and I may have to second the opinion of the other poster that we may need to see more.  It does not mean that something is wrong with the code you posted from Google, but if there is another error in your code, it could cause their code to not function properly.  If you cannot post your code for whatever reason, please be sure to run your page through the validator ( http://validator.w3.org/ ) and ensure there are no coding errors.  With that said:
When I am in design view on Dreamweaver it appears as a gray box. When I am in live view it works perfectly.
This is an expected behavior.  You are pulling content from an external source.  Until you turn on live view, or preview in a browser to make the internet connection to grab the page, there is nothing DW can show you.
Also when I go into live view 2 new codes appear on the bar on the top, obviously they are for the calendar.
I do not understand what you are saying here at all.  Can you post a screenshot?
In a browser (I have only tested with Internet Explorer since it is all we have at school) the page appears fine except where the calendar should be. that box just appears white (or maybe clear, the background is white)
Hard to say here again without knowing more.  IE version always helps because of quirks in different versions (prior to 9).  But it could be a firewall issue or it could be the damn Google bug that seems to never be fixed ( see this Google thread if that sounds like your problem - http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/maps/thread?tid=7e6c7959493cd6cd&hl=en ).

  • Integrate Google Calendar API with Business Catalyst

    Hi there,
I don't think this can be done but thought I'd ask here before throwing in the towel.
I have a client website that uses an embedded Google Calendar. Uses iframe, works great, no issues.
The client (a school) would like to display a list of upcoming events for the year (term dates, holidays, important events, etc), using info from the Google Calendar (which we input in the Google Apps end).
I've looked at the "Agenda View" (Change calendar views - Calendar Help) but it is too inflexible to accomplish what I'm wanting. I've also tried FullCalendar (FullCalendar - Full-sized Calendar jQuery Plugin) and this also insufficient for what we're trying to do. I've also looked into is parsing the Google Calendar RSS feed as a list of events, but I believe I need access to server-side code for this.
I'm sure the Google Calendar API will enable me to do everything I want but my understanding is that it relies on being able to access server-side code which of course isn't possible with BC.
Has anyone found any way to integrate the Google Calendar API, or have any workarounds, suggestions, etc, that I haven't already covered?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.
    Luke

Credit goes to Mario for this post here: Display an external RSS feed in BC? which ended up providing the solution to my problem.
You can display public Google Calendar info via RSS by going to Settings > Shared: Edit Settings (under the Sharing column) > Calendar Details tab > Calendar Address (click on the XML icon)
This will provide a feed address which can then be displayed using zRSSFeed as per Mario's post.

  • Synching my Google Calendar?

Is it possible to sync my Google calendars with the Iphone's calendar?

I haven't figured all of this out yet, but Companion Link has software for syncing Google Calendar with other calendars. I currently use it to sync my work calendar (Novell Groupwise), so I bet I couldn't sync a third way, but I prefer to go straight to the Google Calendar website on the iPhone as it is as real time as I am going to get...
Here's the links for the Google sync program, and their iPhone specific program:

  • Embedded google docs

I've got a strange one. A school I work at uses a Content Management System for their website, class webpages, child / parent forums etc - you can see the site here - http://stpatkai.ultranet.school.nz/Home/
I don't have a lot to do with it but the teachers are having a lot of trouble with embedded Google docs and other embedded secure sites. The teachers create a survey or similar using Google Docs. They then embed these on the class webpage on the CMS for the students to click on and respond to.
The laptops they are using have Snow Leopard patched up to the latest version with two accounts - Admin with full rights and a Student account which has Parental Controls implemented but with everything except System Preferences enabled to be open and the Dock locked. If the students are working in the Student account, the Google Docs page will not load, and under Safari, Activity shows an error message that starts - 'An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to docs.google.com can't be made'
If you go into the class webpage under the Admin account, all is fine.
Obviously I don't want the children working in the Admin account - they've stuffed up enough already, but I can't find anywhere to enable the secure connection to google.docs
The stupid thing is that if they use some old eMacs running Tiger, the children have no problems accessing the google docs in the Student account but it doesn't load under Snow Leopard???
    Any thoughts gratefully received.

    See
    <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2900>
The problem is Parental Control's Internet content filter. It blocks all https requests:
https note: For websites that use SSL encryption (the URL will usually begin with https), the Internet content filter is unable to examine the encrypted content of the page. For this reason, encrypted websites must be explicitly allowed using the Always Allow list. Encrypted websites that are not on the Always Allow list will be blocked by the automatic Internet content filter.
You need to set it up explicitly to allow it, as described in the Apple KB doc I quoted.

  • Getting rid of Google calendar

I am quite happy using iCal, and I usually have it send me an email reminder at whatever time I want to be notified.  Some time ago I thought I would try Google calendar to see how it was.  I set it up, and now every event I put on iCal ends up on Google calendar and I end up getting multiple emails and notifications.  I would like to simply get rid of Google calendar and stop using it.  I can't find a way to do this.  Not only can I not get rid of it, but I can't stop it from sending me emails and notifications.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I don't remember exactly how it was set up in Mountain Lion. Things are different in Mavericks.
What I'm refering to is how you are syncing google calendar. You may have to do it in iCal preferences in Accounts. Deleting the google account from iCal should remove it from the iCal. To delete, highlight and click on "-" sign at bottom of window.
Just make sure you move your events to either a local calendar or iCloud calendar if you are using iCloud before deleting the google calendar.

  • Google Calendar, 2-way syncing with Q10. Please help!

    Dear Blackberry,
I have just bought a Q10 and have been successfully using Google calendar with 2-way syncing on an old Blackberry Curve 9300, for which I have Blackberry desktop software.  I have not yet switched my phone number to the Q10, but have hooked up it up to wifi at home and have managed to sync my contacts and my existing Google calendar on the new phone.
However, I have noticed that the 2-way syncing feature, which i use extensively, is not working now with either phone when I put in appointments.  I must have a 2-way sync with Google calendar; in other words, anything put into the phone needs to be synced and backed up in Google calendar.
Please can you suggest and help with this issue!
    Thanks,
    Pam

    I referenced https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/calendar/asIbCtGjIho
and I have the same setup on my phone and google calendar is working fine.
On the home screen, swipe down from the top bezel and select Settings.
    Select Accounts>Add New Account>Email, Calendar and Contacts>Advanced Setup>CalDAV.
On the CalDAV screen, the Description field is optional, but can be filled in for clarity.
Enter the full email address in the Username and Email Address fields.
Enter your gmail password in the Password field. Use the Show Password checkbox to ensure it is correct.
In the Server Address field, enter https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/(emailaddress)/events
Where emailaddress is your gmail address.
Set sync Interval as you whish.
    Click Save.

  • I want to export iCal to Google Calendar on a PC

I've searched a bunch of forums but none of the instructions match. They all say click on the calendar you want to export, then click file, export etc etc
The problem is that on a PC, there are no file/export options.  All I have are calendars on the left and I can click a button the "share" the calendar.
So anyone know how to export iCal to Google calendar on a PC?  Thanks.

Found it. FYI, you have to "share" the calendar you want to back up or export. Copy and paste the URL given into your browser, but do NOT hit enter. Change the "webcal" at the beginning to "http" then hit enter. It's automatically downloaded to your default location.  Then you can import the ICS file directly into Google calendar.

  • Setting google calendar alert for 1 week on ipad

Is there any way to set alerts on Google Calendar for more than 2 days?  On a Mac you can specify minutes, hours, days and weeks but on the iPad the longest alert setting available is days....

In the native Calendar app, no. At least not at the moment. Don't know if that will change in iOS 7, but it is possible. In the meantime, you might investigate some third party calendar apps. I'm using Calendars+, which does give you more flexibility on setting alert times spans. Integrates well with icloud and Google calendars.

  • Embed google calendar html display problem

i have embeded the custom html google calendar code.   it looks ok on my page in adobe muse ,
showing about 8 different calendars and colors, and the default display is supposed to be one week.
however  it is not displayed properly.  you can see my calendar , as published on
    http://http://farandawayfarms.businesscatalyst.com/weeklylessons.html
my calendar should look very similiar to this  example i found on the support forum..
    http://http://www.learnadobesoftware.com/calendar.html
if i insert the code into the html object many times and publish  the page,  occasionally I get the  correct display,
but then after the page is opened and closed several times,  the display looks like the former link and not the latter.
this seems to be some bug.   I am using the beta program, but see no indication that I am using the new cloud version, although I am a cloud subscription subscriber.   I have adobe muse 4.1.    all my software is installed from my cloud license.
I'm trying to go live with this site in a few days, and I need to solve this problem.
    thank you.

I ran the w3 html validator on the google calendar code and it complained about the "border"
and the "no scrolling"  attributes, so I removed them since both were empty or set to "0"

  • Google calendar as HTML snippet

I'm trying to embed my Google calendar to my site. It worked once, and then suddenly it stopped working. Now when anyone visits my website they see only a "sign in to Google calendar" window instead of my personal calendar.
I used an HTML snippet to do this, and I went into "calendar settings" in Google to grab the HTML code. Copied and pasted it. Like I said, it worked for a few days and now I can't make it work again no matter how many times I delete and re-insert the snippet.
    Very very very frustrating.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I'm having the same issue with my Google calendar in this demo page: Google calendar. It was working the last time I checked it so it has to be something haywire at Google's end.
My page is loading very, very slowly today pointing the finger at MMe. My iCal calendar is also not loading which fixes the culprit as MMe. I'm not surprised.

  • Anyone has ideas how to create Google Calendar as an embedded web applet

    Hello...
Anyone has ideas how to create Google Calendar as an embedded web applet in CRM On Demand? I would like to create an embedded web applet to show up the user's Google Calendar. I may have users Google credentials saved in its user record of CRMOD.

This can be enabled with InBound SSO implementation where your CRMOD Credentials and Google Apps Credentials are mapped.
if it would help consider reading something on OpenSSO on SAML for this requirement
