Embedding HTML Music-Player in Flash-Website?

Hello everyone!
I am a music composer and I'm working on a site to use as a sort of web-presence/portfolio. I'd love to be able to designate one of the "pages" in my animated site to my music, and the best way I can think of would be by using a scrolling pane and various instances of some flash player (I love the quicktime one's simplicity, but it allows you to download the music, and I'd prefer to just have my audience listen and not copy =). I like the google player best after the quicktime one for it's minimalistic look (and if you check out the site-in-progress, you'll see why I favor the sleek, grey players =)
That, or ditch the scrolling pane and have a static page with a player/playlist of my tracks. Either way, I'd like the listener to be able to select one song at a time. (I also do SFX work, and I'd like to have use a similar format to let the listeners hear the various sound effects.
Anyways, that's enough out of me... Is there any way to embed an HTML player into a flash movie clip or something? I'm really new to this stuff, you'll see in my little "blog" area under  "profile" on the site that I just opened flash for the first time last weekend.
If HTML doesnt work in flash, what other options do I have? I'd love to be able to incorporate a streaming player!!
Thank you in advance!!

**Please turn your speakers down, the site is still using the templates sound effects and they are kinda "crunchy" sounding for some reason**

Thanks Ned!!!
Ok, I'm going to look into the Actionscript 2 music player options out there.
One question, incase I have a hard time finding what I need, would it be too difficult to have a text box open a new window, and in that window, have all the HTML music player?  I found this site and I'd be OK with something like this:
http://digitalmedia.oreilly.com/2005/02/23/mp3_embed.html
My only criteria would be to not have a download file link and that it would stream. Just curious if this would be an option since I've had such terrible luck trying to figure this whole music thing out.
Thanks again, Ned!!!

  • PS3 compatible embeded internet music player

Hi, I am seeking a way to create/edit a embedable music player into a website that will play a music stream fed from my server.
I have tried various flash music players but do not appear compatable with the PS3 (Playstation 3).
A very few select websites are capable of doing this using flash, but after hours of searching and trawling it has left me at a dead end.
Does someone please know what format it needs to be streamed in?
Whats best to encode the specific stream if it has to be a complete flash stream?
Or where i can find code to make my own player?
Or how I can edit an already existing player to work?
I can do all the above for PC/Laptops/Mobiles but not PS3.
Any/all details would be greatly appreciated.
    Many Thanks in advance

I have posted it there too but still no reply.
I guess they want to keep it a secret

  • Music player in Flash...

    Hi,
I am looking to replicate the way the music tracks are presented on this website:
    http://joelocke.com/music.htm
I'd like to create something somewhat similar, in which I can simply type out the name of each track and then have the small Play/Pause button icon.
Are there any templates that are packaged with Flash CS4 for something like this? Otherwise, if you could point me in the right direction as to how it is constructed and/or a tutorial for creating. - But is the text that lists the tracks done in HTML? If so, then this is pretty simple really.
    Thank you.

If you right click on a web page and select "View Source", you can see just about all of what is involved in creating the web page.
The buttons you see are all there is to the Flash content for those tabulated song lists.  The title info is html and the PLAY text is an image.  Each player is designed identically and the song each plays is specified in the embedding code as a variable hanging off of the swf's url.
You should be able to Google "AS# audio player tutorial" and similar terms (music, mp3, etc) , where # is whatever version of actionscript you plan to use, and find something that you can whittle down to being as simple as what yopu see on that page.

  • Is there a way to overlay a soundcloud music player widget (flash or HTML5) ON TOP of a jpeg image?

I am designing my first webpage for a new site. It is very basic in function, where I am going to be embedding a bunch of soundcloud.com players of my music to my website. This part is fairly easy. I currently have Adobe Dreamweaver CS6.
Since I have ZERO webdesign experience, going the easy route is best. It was suggested to me by someone to create what I wanted my webpage to look like in photoshop (which I have lots of experience in). Essentially, I have a single image with lots of visual information on it, where I can then add "hotspots" if needed. So, I created my design, where there are specific areas ON TOP of the jpeg image where I want to overlay the soundcloud player. I am able to adjust the size, and format (HTML5 or Flash) of the player itself at soundcloud. I then have the proper code that needs to be put where I want it on top of my image.
Is there a simple piece of code, or a way in Dreamweaver to accomplish this in an easy way?
    Thanks in advance!

Here is the widget code for HTML5 for the first one:

    Second one: (HTML5)

And finally, here is a link to the jpeg image:
http://www.mediafire.com/view/?z2bngmtiikmi9k9  (only 2mb files were permitted to be uploaded here directly)
You can probably see where I want the player to overlay...below the text and to the right of the artwork.  I will have the image centered on the screen.
    I greatly appreciate your help!
    Thanks again,

  • Why I can't paste embed html music player?

    Hi everyone,
I've tried with two different player; jw player and podsnack and each time I copy paste the code in my layout, I see a big square with "enable to generate thumbnail" in it.
    Anyone knows why?
    Here is the code

    Thank you,

    Hi Ben,
I tested your code. I get the same error in Muse. however, when I previewed it in a browser, the player loaded fine. Please test it in a browser and let us know if you still can't see the player.

  • Embeding Youtube Videos into a Flash website

Ok I've tried every possible combination of code I can think of all the codes others have released online but cannot get any results. Im currently working with Flash 8

  • Embedding music player?

So... I've searched the forum and seen a few suggestions on embedding a music player into your iWeb, but none seem to work. I am some what familiar with HTML and am certain the code I am inserting into my website is correct, but I cannot seem to get a player up and running. The actual player shows up fine, but it cannot find my playlists. I have tried using both xspf and xml type playlists and players, but still have not luck getting this to work. I understand iWeb is what it is- and is not meant to be a full blown web design program - but with the HTML snippet, my code should work and isn't.
Does anyone out there have a working mp3 player on their website? I do not want to have the files linked or playing in the background. I am specifically looking to get a player working. Is this just not an option for iWeb? Any ideas or suggestions? All feedback is appreciated!

Example of a working mp3 player using an html snippet in iWeb 2 http://www.rickiekirman.com/site1/Resting_Soul.html
    Here's instructions for a basic player setup - http://www.ic.sunysb.edu/stu/ahanley/music/help.htm
If you search the web you will find many more!!
Note: you will need to manually put the music and playlist files on your web server

  • How to swich to music player, while surfing web in ...

While opening web or downloading any file,if u wanna switch to music player without closing/exiting from browser,u just have to open any youtube video aur link(as any link with rtsp type format).
By doing this, you just switch to music player and browser and its downloads run in background.
For coming back to browser, just hit the right(back) key.

  • Embedding Flash Player in a website

I would like to embed Flash Player in my website and add
video trailers for my dvd's. Do I need to purchase Flash Player
software to create this or is there html that I can simply add? I
want my videos to play like this website has
    http://results.bayequest.info/2minvideo/,
but for now I'm using YouTube and the quality stinks. My website is
    www.WHolisticHorsemanship.com. Any suggestions? Thank you
    Missy

    Hi Carribus,
I'm working on the same thing as you but using Qt and have painting working under Mac/Win. Are you trying to paint in windowed and/or windowless mode? Your problem might be with values of struct NPWindow.clipRect/.x/.y and passing to NPP_SetWindow(). If you are painting in windowed mode clipRect have to match the position of your control.
As for NPN_GetURLNotify() I've not got around to that fully.

  • I need a a music player for my flash site

    Hello all,
I have a flash website, multi grooves as well as an rss 2.0
    feed with mp3 files.
I want to embed a music player that can display all the music
entries in my rss feed and play them quickly (as opposed to that
quick time window that opens and waits for the whole mp3 file to
    download before anything is heard).
I found a flash player that I wanted to use but strangely it
can not be embedded into a flash site!? (code below)
Does something like this exist for flash? If not, what
    suggestions could you make?
One feature that I really want is to be able to "detach" the
player from the page in which it appears so the user can go to
other pages in the site (or even to another site) without loosing
the sound and stay in full control of the music playing
The code for the player that I wanted to use:
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="220"
    height="160" data="
    http://bigcontact.com/feed-player/7478_8437/r:1;t:1001">
    <param name="quality" value="best" /> <param
    name="wmode" value="window" /><param name="allowScriptAccess"
    value="always" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"
    /><param name="movie" value="
    http://bigcontact.com/feed-player/7478_8437/r:1;t:1001"
    /></object>

I've wrote a tutorial a while ago, not exactly with an RSS
feed, but that could be easily converted to an RSS feed reader with
the mp3 capability. Regarding the detachable window, I don't see
    any obstructions.

  • In need of a flash/html5/quicktime audio/video media player for a website

    Hello everybody,
I'm looking to get some kind of audio/video media player for a website. I would like it to be customizable, and also most likely read a play list from some kind of text file or xml file.
Normally, I would look for some kind of flash media player, but recently the site might be read from Apple mobile devices also, which of course not flash which might be a problem, so I'm also looking into other options such as some kind of QuickTime media player web application or even html5 player.
I do not personally know how to code in flash or HTML 5, so I would be willing to hire someone to help out.
Is HTML 5 for long enough that it would play on most current browsers? I would imagine that HTML 5 might not work on older browsers–is this correct?
I don't know of any QuickTime media players - any links to get me started?
Does anyone know some solutions to this flash / apple issue?

Looks like you are getting a very good lesson in why Flash is the best choice for a Web media player.... plentilful, easily customizable, and is a "right now" solution. Good luck on getting your viewers to download and install the codex need to play an Ogg video!
To add the extra accessabilty for the iPhone etc, use swfobject to provide an alternative video file type... the .mov
Here is an example of a Flash video that plays on the iPhone (well sort of..):
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/qt/play_qt.html
Using swfobject for Flash detection, if the Web browser has the Flash plugin, the Flash .flv video is displayed, if not, the QT, .mov version is displayed.
View the source code for more exact details.
If the Web browser does not have the Flash plugin, alternate content is displayed, which in this case happens to be a QT player, which displays a .mov video. In this case it's just a single video. Now maybe you have a QT player with playlist... but let me tell you.. they are a lot rarer than Flash media players with playlists, xml playlist, etc.... Strong case for Flash here..
But your alt content could just as easily hold a QT media player (with playlist) if such an animal exists.
    Info on swfobject:

  • Embedding HTML Into Flash?

Let me start with the fact I only know some AS2. AS3 tends to go over my head. So I'm using Flash 8
If I need FlashCS5 to do this, then, PLEASE, let me know.
    Here's the situration.
I manage and build a number of sites. Many are parts of a network. The goal is to join them all as one. Both without using php (don't know php), and without having to leave primary page. A Flash Site is the plan. But that is a TON of work to re-create entire sites flash that are already large and established.
So I got to thinking. What if I embed the HTML/CSS sites into Flash itself? That way they can still make their changes and it'll effect both the HTML version as well as it's mirror/portal via the Flash site?
    In Short:
I want to embed this page on one frame in Flash:
    http://www.uga-international.com/About.html
And place a link to another KeyFrame that has this page/site embeded:
    http://www.melholder.com/MAIN.html
How would I go about doing this?
    ====
Then it got me thinking even more. If this works, would it be possible to load a SWF video player (Webstunning FLV Player) into Flash and run it as if it's part of the Flash site?
I thought the Loader Component would do this for me. But it keeps saying it can't locate the "playList.xml" file. The player has outside files it referances. This eoor prevent the player.swf from playing period.
So how would I go about getting the loader to player external .SWF files that referance external .XML files?
Here are two sample pages using different .SWF files that referance external .XML files:
    http://www.melholder.com/index.html
    http://www.dovm.org/TEST1a/Test1a.html
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you for you help and patience.
But your last statement "copy and paste your frameset encoding" just got me lost.
In Flash, I know how to use the "MyLoader" to load an outside file (but loading HTML pages in it does not work) But it only has these Parameter options:
    autoLoad:True
    contentPath: "URL goes here
    autoScale:True
I also know how to point a button's AS2 to open a URL page.
    on (release) {
    getURL("URL Link Goes Here",_blank);
Those are the only pointing methods I know.
Now that I think about it. do I change the "_blank"  part of the AS2 code to the name of the Iframe instead?

  • Website Music Player Options...using a player other than Quicktime

We seem to be STUCK using Quicktime to play these mp3 audio files (lots of PC users are gonna be pretty ticked off to have to download & install Quicktime just to hear a music file). Is there any way to use a more "across-the-board compatible player - Mac/PC"?
Also...anybody have the download link for the PC version of the Quicktime Player?
    Thank you

You will get the QT icon and download link here....
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/MusicPlayers/QT.html
You can use the QT in an iFrame to get it to play on a PC....
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/MusicPlayers/MP3iFrame.html
Using a Flash Player doesn't mean that you have to convert your music file to flash format.
The players either "call up" an MP3 file .....
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/MusicPlayers/FlashPlayers.html
... or, if you want a jukebox style player it gets the MP3 from an XSPF playlist.
The easiest one to implement is this....

Download the appropriate tutorials and give it a shot.
