Embedding web dynpro into intranet

Hi
We are currently using a WDA embedded as an iView in the xRPM portal.  How can we achieve the embedding in intranet?
Thanks
Pushpraj

Difficult to say without knowing anything about the capabilities of your Intranet site.  At its most basic form, each WDA application does have a URL and can be ran via that URL.  You could always try embedding that URL via an iFrame in another application.  However SAP doesn't necessarily support that scenario.  Depending upon what technology is used in the surrounding frame, you might get rendering issues.  Of course you won't have access to any of the Portal APIs or features either.

  • Integrate web dynpro into WEB UI

    Hi,
    I have a problem with integrating wd4a application into web ui.
    When I set up url of the wd4a application (absolute url) as logical link, everything went ok in dev system.
    But after transport to test system, application was not reachable, because absolute url linked to dev.
    The second attemp was to set up the logical link to BSP application, which called absolute url to wd4a application using <bsp:call> statement in view. The problem is that this statement didnt work at all and it doesnt matter if there link to my application or to google.com.
    do you have any idea how to solve this?
    thanks
    Juraj

    Hi,
    I know this method,
    but problem is that I used absolute link in WEB UI customizing, tx CRMC_IC_LTX_URLS ... in case I could create my own link, everything is ok
    my problem is that I dont know how to define link in this tx with relative url
    or I can be solved in way that I somehow integrate web dynpro into BSP application and then set up URL in tx CRMC_IC_LTX_URLS for the BSP.
    the only problem is I dont kobw how to do this
    thanks

  • Problem with integrating Web Dynpro into anonymous Portal

    <b>Detail description of the situation:</b>
    At one of our companies we are using a Portal in combination with a Web Dynpro application. The portal is for internal use only so therefore we are using a language specific anonymous user (/irj/portal/anonymous?guest_user=Guest_intra_NL). The Web Dynpro application needs no authentication either. The Web Dynpro applications runs inside an appintegrator iView somewhere on the frontpage. If we set the authentication schema on 'default' instead of 'anonymous' we have to authenticate (inside the iView only). If we authenticate then the Web Dynpro application works fine. So only in combination with a anonymous user the application is not working.
    <b>We performed all these settings:</b>
    Anonymous user access to Web Dynpro

    Hi Kelly,
    the point here is native SharePoint integration. If your company does not have a SharePoint strategy then I absolutely agree with you. There are plenty of ways on how you can integrate WebDynpros, iViews, and other "SAP views" in SharePoint.
    The "problem" with these integrations is always that it is not a native / low-level integration. It is just an iFrame within SharePoint that contains data coming from another system. This means that this data is isolated from any other functionality that is available in SharePoint.
    Of course this can be enough for some usecases (maybe for all of yours ), but there are lots of companies who do want to leverage all of SharePoints (collaborative) functionalities. In this case Duet Enterprise does offer a way to integrate SAP objects into SharePoint on a "low-level". All objects that are integrated into SharePoint are then available as "real" SharePoint objects. You can work with them like with any other SharePoint object. You can even offline them using standard SharePoint functionalities. You can bring them to Outlook without any major development, ...
    All this because we not only include an isolated iFrame in SharePoint, but really integrate the data.
    Like I said: there are certainly usecases where this is not required and a simple iFrame is all that you need. However, we have seen in several projects now that there is also a requirement / need for a "deeper" integration.

    Holger.

  • How to import EJB components and Web Dynpro into WAS 6.4

    I have EJB components and developed Web Dynpro application.
    Is it possible to upload directly without using NWDS? My system is very slow while running NWDS.
    I don't know how to upload or deploy those on WAS 6.4.
    Can any one help me out on this.

    Hi,
    The default SDM password is <b>sdm</b>, try this one.
    1. Once login into SDM select <b>Deployment</b> tab.
    2. Click the first Icon to add your .EAR files.
    3. Continue the deployment process by clicking the <b>Next</b> button.
    4. In last screen of the deployment <b>Confirm</b> the deployment.
    Let me know if you need anything.

  • Security Provider for a web dynpro with tool Visual Administrator

    Hello all,
    after deploying successfully my web dynpro on the J2EE 7.0 WAS, I'm trying to set up authentication to it but I cannot find my applicaiton in the list of policy configurations of the Security Provider entry. When I try to add the path to my local web dynpro, the engine doesn't find it.
    I have noticed that all other policy configurations reference a servlet_jsp application. Should I transform my web dynpro into a servlet_jsp? How do I do that?
    Thanks for your input,
    Tanguy Mezzano

    Hello Marcel,
    in fact, I don't succeed to redeploy with another provider name... I have undeployed my webdynpro with SDM on the Java stack, but from NWDS, when I change the application-j2ee-engine.xml and application.xml files, and that I rebuild the webdynpro, when I run and deploy, it always redeploys under the former provider: local.
    When I create the application, I tell to use the existing component, should I select create a new one, but that means that I have to rebuild the whole application.
    Will then the webdynpro be in the Security Provider list, so that I can configure it with http header?
    Thx for your help,

  • Replacing web dynpro application URL

    Hi Experts,
            I have created a web dynpro application with 2 views. view 1 has a button when I click on it it opens view2 in "external window". To do this I am getting absolute URL using cl_wd_utilities=>construct_wd_url and pass this URL into lr_window_manager->create_external_window and everything works great. Now, I integrated my web dynpro into MSS portal iview. When I click the button on view1 it tries to go to different URL (We have single sign on ) instead of actual URL which is "HTTP://<host>.<domain>.<extension>.<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/mycomponent". In portal the section "HTTP://<host>.<domain>.<extension>.<port>/" is getting replaced by "https://dev.xxxxx.com" and due to this a blank page opens up because this URL is not found.
    Is there any way I can get actual URL of web dynpro application? I have done plenty of reserach but could not resolve this. Please let me know if anyone has any information.
    Thanks.

    I am not Sure what is going wrong here . How can it be different url ? You may have to check THE sso configuration and the system defintion in the portal. How ever you cannot see the actual url in THE portal url.
    Is That Correct That your wda application with view1 is loding correctly but THE opening external window is not going good? In that case you can try to change THE generated url from cl_wd_utilities=>construct_wd_url  to https protocol.

  • Import Data from Office Control (Web Dynpro for ABAP) into internal-Table

    Hello,
    I have a question concerning the Office Control UI-Eelement in Web Dynpro for ABAP:
    How can I import spreadsheet data from the Office Control into  a internal-table?
    I have an Excel-sheet (without any data) which is shown initially in the Office Control. First the empty Excel-Sheet will be loaded and in the second step data from an alvxml-transformation will be loaded into the Excel-sheet with the method 'activatexmlsource'. This works so far. When I change the loaded data in the Office Control and save it it will be stored as XLS-File. The problem is that I'm not able to use existing Upload-FM because every function module I tried uses GUI-functions and WebDynpro has no GUI-functionality. I always get the error that data from clipboard cannot be imported.
    So now the question is:
    How can I import changed data from the Office control into a internal-table staying in Web Dynpro application?
    Please give some advice, if you have some useful code or ideas.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Once you save to desktop again you have made some changes to that file, this file you want to upload it right.
    Then in that case you need to use the FILEUPLOAD UI element right.

    In this tutorial you create a button that calls the method StudsBean.getStudent(String). In this method the object student is created and it will be returned. In several labels the information of the returned student should be displayed. But that doesn’t happen, when I push the button no error occurs but the labels are still empty. When I try to debug the Enterprise Bean and Web Dynpro application I see that the method StudsBean.getStudent(String) is called and the property’s are set and the student object is returned, but still it isn’t displayed.
    After discussing this with a colleague I tried to search for a solution on the SDN and of course Google. First I thought I would be a bug but I only found 2 people with the same problem. I found it remarkable because it’s one of the key subjects of Java EE 5 and it’s a tutorial displayed in the welcome page of the Developer Studio.
    So do you people think it’s a bug in WebDynpro? Because I am sure that I followed all the steps mentioned (a colleague checked it even).

    Sander

    Hi Vesselin,
    Thank you for the quick replay, this is the code I'm using:
    public void onActionGetStudent(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
        //@@begin onActionGetStudent(ServerEvent)
              try {
                  // executes the corresponding method on the session facade
                  wdContext.currentRequest_StudsLocal_getStudentElement().
                  modelObject().execute();
                  // forces Web Dynpro to re-create the Request model object
                  // in order to clear the InputField
                 wdContext.nodeRequest_StudsLocal_getStudent().invalidate();
                  // updates the UI elements bound to the Response node
                  wdContext.nodeResponse().invalidate();
                  //Code for trying something out
                  //wdContext.nodeReturn().invalidate();
                  //wdContext.nodeAddress().invalidate();
               } catch (Exception e) {
                  throw new RuntimeException(e);
    Have you tried this example yourself, or is replay based on experience?
    Kind Regards,
    Sander

    Hi Sander,
    I guess, it's not a bug in Web Dynpro, maybe it's a bug in the tutorial
    I tried something similar, but not following the tutorial and it works. I wasn't able to call the model from the view controller and I guess that's the problem. Take the code from the init-method of the view controller and put it to the component controller's init -method and the code inside the onActionGetStudent and put it into a method you create in the component controller, too. From onActionGetStudent just call this method in the component controller with some code like this:
    wdThis.wdGet<your component controller's name>.<your method's name>;
    Hope this helps
    Kind regards

  • Howto replace an embedded FPM-Instance within a Web DynPro Application?

    Hi,
    I have to build a Web DynPro application that displays an Navigation menu on the left side. On the right side within a UIViewContainer an embedded FPM Instance should be displayed depending on which entry I pressed on the Navigation menu. (Similiar to the Cockpit)
    For Test purposes I have 2 buttons in the navigation menu. One to add the fpm and one to remove the fpm.
    When I start the WD Application I first hit the addfpm button. And a new FPM Application is displayed within the UIViewElementContainer. When I hit the delfpm button the FPM will disappear. When I will the addfpm button again I get
    a dump[1]
    I have absolutely no idea why I get this dump.
    Do I have to reset the FPM application remove removing it? Or is it possible to load a new FPM configuration in the FPM without removing it first?
    Here are the Methods that I use to remove/add the FPM-Instance:
    method ONACTIONADDFPM .
      DATA: L_VIEW_CONTROLLER_API TYPE REF TO IF_WD_VIEW_CONTROLLER.
      DATA: L_COMPONENT_USAGE TYPE REF TO IF_WD_COMPONENT_USAGE.
      DATA: lf_conf_key TYPE WDY_CONFIG_KEY.
      L_VIEW_CONTROLLER_API = wd_this->WD_GET_API( ).
      "Wenn die Komponente-Usage noch nicht vorhanden ist dann erstelle Sie:
      L_COMPONENT_USAGE = wd_this->WD_CPUSE_FPM( ).
      IF L_COMPONENT_USAGE->HAS_ACTIVE_COMPONENT( ) IS INITIAL.
        lf_conf_key-CONFIG_ID = '/PLMU/WDC_MAT_OIF_CFG'.
        L_COMPONENT_USAGE->CREATE_COMPONENT( EXPORTING COMPONENT_NAME = 'FPM_OIF_COMPONENT'
                                                       CONFIGURATION_ID = lf_conf_key ).
        "Komponente mit der View verknüpfen:
        L_VIEW_CONTROLLER_API->PREPARE_DYNAMIC_NAVIGATION(
          SOURCE_WINDOW_NAME = 'WINDOW'
          SOURCE_VUSAGE_NAME = 'MAIN_USAGE_0' "MAIN_USAGE1/UIVIEW_VCA_1'
          SOURCE_PLUG_NAME   = 'TO_FPM'
          TARGET_COMPONENT_NAME = 'FPM_OIF_COMPONENT'
          TARGET_COMPONENT_USAGE = 'FPM'
          TARGET_VIEW_NAME = 'FPM_WINDOW'
          TARGET_PLUG_NAME = 'DEFAULT'
          TARGET_EMBEDDING_POSITION = 'MAIN/FPMVIEW' "'MAIN_USAGE_0/UIVIEW_VCA_1'
        WD_THIS->FIRE_TO_FPM_PLG( ).
      ENDIF.
    endmethod.
    And then remove the FPM using this button action:
    method ONACTIONDELFPM .
      DATA: L_VIEW_CONTROLLER_API TYPE REF TO IF_WD_VIEW_CONTROLLER.
      DATA: L_COMPONENT_USAGE TYPE REF TO IF_WD_COMPONENT_USAGE.
      L_VIEW_CONTROLLER_API = wd_this->WD_GET_API( ).
      "Wenn die Komponente-Usage vorhanden ist dann lösche sie:

      DATA: lo_event TYPE REF TO cl_fpm_event.
      lo_event = cl_fpm_event=>create_by_id( iv_event_id   = cl_fpm_event=>GC_EVENT_CLOSE  ).
      DATA: iwci_fpm TYPE REF TO IWCI_FPM_OIF_COMPONENT.

        "FPM Ref holen und Exit-Event schicken:
        DATA: lo_fpm TYPE REF TO IF_FPM.

       lf_event = cl_fpm_event=>GC_EVENT_CLOSE.
       lo_fpm->RAISE_EVENT_BY_ID( lf_event ).
      ENDIF.
    endmethod.

    Chris yes you are right, there is some special logic in the nav app,
    that I can't do with NWBC.
    If I would use a Portal to display the FPM within an Iframe.
    What happends when I replace the FPM in the Iframe with a new
    FPM/URl. Will the old FPM in the Iframe just disappear or will
    the FPM shutdown and release all the acquired locks?
    I already did a simliar thing where I just used URLs
    to display an FPM application within an IView/IFrame.
    But when I replace the URL of the IView/IFrame with a new URL/FPM,
    the old FPM only just disappered but no locks where released.
    So displaying the same FPM again, gives me a message that the Object is already
    locked.
    Thanks

  • Dynamic insertion of MIME object into a web dynpro component

    Hi,
    I want to dynamically insert a MIME object of type JPEG or type GIF into my web dynpro component at runtime.
    I was unable to find the database table which contains the list of MIME objects for a particular web dynpro component.
    Can you please help me out with this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Adithya

    Hi Muzammil Bichoo ,
                                   when you copy the wda component, it will be copied and will be in active state, once all the components are activated means, windows, views, everything will be available.
    now create application for your component, if you have more than one window(interface view) select the one which you need for the application.

  • EXCEL Web Query  - load into SAP via Web dynpro or standard ABAP

    Hi everybody
    I was wondering if you can run an EXCEL WEB Query from abap and then upload the data retrieved from the web into SAP using either a web dynpro application or standard SAP.
    For standard ABAP one could probably run the EXCEL web query by executing some code such as
    call method cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute
    exporting
    document = 'your excel web query file'.
    You could then save the data and using GUI_UPLOAD get it into sap.
    I'd really like to do it via a web dynpro application.
    Any ideas anyone.
    For guys who've never used EXCEL web queries --quite easy.
    Open EXCEL
    go to Import External Data
    Choose New web query
    Enter URL of where you want to retrieve your data from such as YAHOO finance etc.
    For example to get the components of the Dow Jones Composite Index (^DJA) use this url
    http://finance.yahoo.com/q/cp?s=%5EDJA
    click the yellow arrow on the table data you want to import. The arrow will turn Green and press IMPORT
    Then enter the cell number where you want to start importing data
    Hey presto you've got your data from the web.
    Cheers
    jimbo

    when you create a new webquery, in the properties, you can set when the page should refresh (data fetch to happen), you can set that to refresh at file open.
    then you can use either OLE or gui_upload to upload the excel to read the data.
    have couple of question:
    why do you want to choose excel webquery ?=> is it because the ability to get unstructured data from the web?
    what sort of data you are trying to read from the web?=> most of data centric sites (forex, stock quotes) will have either RSS feeds or some web APIs to get data which can be easily consumed by ABAP

  • Import Data from Office Control (Web Dynpro for ABAP) into SAP-Table

    Hello,
    I have a question concerning the Office Control UI-Eelement in Web Dynpro for ABAP:
    How can I import spreadsheet data from the Office Control in a SAP-table?
    How can I import changed data from the Office control into a SAP-table staying in Web Dynpro application?
    Please give some advice, if you have some useful code or ideas.
    Thanks in advance,
    Philipp

    Hi,
    Once you save to desktop again you have made some changes to that file, this file you want to upload it right.
    Then in that case you need to use the FILEUPLOAD UI element right.

    Lekha.
