Empty Application Bar

I've searched for anything related to this issue and I am comingup empty. When I open Illustrator CC, my application bar is completely blank. If I "restore" the window then maximize it again, the content comes back.
I'm running Illustrator on a two-screen setup and it is set to open on the secondary desktop. But it does the same thing on the primary screen as well.
Anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

Problem with icons in the application bar (Photoshop CS4)

My computer's OS is WinXP Pro SP3.
I just now noticed a problem with all icons in the application bar in PS CS4 (v. 11.0.1).
When I bring mouse over icons (except for zoom level icon), all icons turn into blank (white) boxes.
For "Arrange Documents" bar, when I click on its blank icon, the top two columns are empty but show the the rest of three columns.
Please advise me how to fix this problem. I hope to avoid uninstalling -reinstallinlg. Thanks.

ATI no longer supports your card so I don't think you will see any updated drivers from them to correct your problem. You might want to look into investing in a newer card.

Cannot load washington post sunday puzzle. Stops at empty progress bar.

That is a Flash application.
I see that you have an old Flash 10.3 version installed.
Did you downgrade to that version because of problems with the Flash 11.4 or 11.3 player?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Application bar is greyed out under window menu

Although I can see an application bar on my document, it is "greyed out" under the window menu. Specifically when I click the icon to arrange documents ie - tile vertically/horizontally - everything is greyed out

if so double click on a sequence and the timeline should appear. Or start a new project if you don't have one open.

Shut down JDeveloper and erase <Oracle Middleware>\jdeveloper\system\system11.1.1.0.31.51.88\o.ide\windowinglayout.xml and start JDev again.
If that doesn't help...
Shut down JDeveloper and erase folder <Oracle Middleware>\jdeveloper\system\system11.1.1.0.31.51.88\ and start JDev again.
Note: you will loose all your settings in JDev!!!

Reinstall JDev.

How do I get rid of the blue "downloading the latest applications" bar which won't go away even after uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox?

Can't get rid of the blue "downloading the latest applications" bar that seems to be just hanging and won't go away. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but the bar is still there after 2 days. I updated something (can't remember what!) on I.E., and it had the same blue bar, but it had a box I could x out of so it went away on I.E. I don't know why the blue bar is there on Firefox, as I did the update while on I.E.

If you don't need some / all of those toolbars, consider leaving them disabled.
You can probably remove these toolbars permanently from Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

The problem started when I turned on the computer this morning. I tried to install Mozilla 4 from your website and that installed but I still have nothing on the top.

It may be due to Firebug. Seeing as how you're a web developer, it's very possible you have this installed. The latest version, 1.7X a10, appears to cause everything you described. I downgraded to "a8" and that seems to have fixed everything.
I also recreated a profile from scratch before trying this out, so I can't guarantee it's definitely Firebug.

Desktop Screen Zoom? Can't see full Menu or Application Bar...

Sudden problem with the zoom or magnification of my desktop; like it is too large for the window. It is hidden outside of viewing frame of the ibook. Scrolling around I can reach the menu bar & bottom application bar, but it doesn't fit like it once did. Is this a projection issue? Read back 16 pages in discussions but didn't see anything like this. Never dropped or misused. What could this be?

I need to have a pushbutton (labelled Download) on the application bar on the abap report screen .
This button should enable me to download the report contents in a file format (like excel).

Possible bug with zoom field in Application Bar

I came across this issue while trying to troubleshoot the zoom/text editing issue in my other thread...
Sometimes when I click in the zoom field on the Application Bar, it looks like it's enabled but I'm not able to edit it. I've been able to reproduce this fairly consistently by selecting some text, pressing command-enter to exit the text layer, and then clicking on the zoom field. When I start to type in a value for the zoom ratio, it'll change the opacity of the text layer instead.

BTW, this seems to happen whether OpenGL is turned on or off.

v6, I think Ramón means that you don't need to hold Command when you press Return (or "Enter" if you'd prefer to call it that) in order to commit the value. just press Return. However, if you press the Return key on the main part of the keyboard, you do have to press CMD with it. You can press Return on the number pad (if you have one) and that's easier/quicker than having to also hold CMD.
Hey Fred, I'm not sure I understand--it doesn't seem to work for me. When I press Return, it just does a carriage return (and always has for all my years of using Photoshop). Just to clarify, here are the methods I've used to commit text when it comes to the keyboard:
1) Command-Return (Control-Enter on PC)
2) Enter on numeric keypad
with that said, it looks like you're not clicking in the Zoom field before entering values. when you mouse over the field, the cursor changes and it looks like you can type in it, but you can't until you actually click. pressing the numbers just enacts the keyboard shortcut to change the opacity of the highlighted layer.
Yeah, I realize it's hard to tell from the video, but I'm definitely clicking (notice the 1st time through the field becomes active, and the 2nd and 3rd times the value inside the field is selected, but not active).

Never opening more than 2-3 docs and than can easy use shortcut ctrl+`. Tabbed pages are good in web browser imho... Application bar is also just useless and (as menu itself) too fat. Most of those are in menu and have shortcuts. New features could be in menu as well.
Don't know why interface changed so much. And why this direction.
I know monitors are bigger nowdays etc - but are wider rather than higher.
Also - maybe new interface is great and ppl love it - but would be nice to have a choice. Some may prefere maximize workspace...

Yes - mac users can be really happy. What about PC? What was wrong with classical menu?
Are designers really works with several documents the same time? So need to use tabs? Well maybe. But those who works with just one or two don't need it really. (Maybe easy solution could be: one doc = no tab, more = tabbed, would be more natural imvho. As well as turning it off for PC users as well.)
So really no trick similar to 'noallcaps'? Notabsbar? Noapplicationbar?

Yes, I can - but no more place coz of this... Window isn't maximized in fact - is floating, what also personally I don't like. Anyway - it is the same size and use the same space as before... If u make next one doc it is even smaller, to show bottom one. Maximizing it to full screen... hiding menu and docked 'control panel' (OK this docked menu can float, np - but where is menu?).
As for maximized letter size document in CS3 vs CS4 it's 131% to 129% on my lcd. Sure - it is not much maybe. But why it must be less? Why to change smthng what was good and aesthetic solution. And why not allow people to use it in classical way? Are Mac users ("to keep the hardcore Mac users happy") better than others? :(

Where has the Application Bar gone in CS6 and can I get it to show?

I use this a lot in CS5 and notice it isn't showing in CS6, is there any way to make it show?

The Application Bar was intentionally removed. A majority of users told us they'd rather have the extra vertical space for their images than the Application Bar.
All of the commands are available elsewhere or can be access more easily with keyboard shortcuts:
Mini-bridge is accessible from the bottom panel (now a part of the default UI).
Cmd + Opt + o (Mac) Ctrl + Alt + o (Windows) to launch Bridge.
Show Guides: Cmd + ; (Mac) Ctrl + ; (Win)
Show Grids: Cmd + ' (Mac) Ctrl + ' (Win)
Show Rulers: Cmd + r (Mac) Ctrl + r (Win)
Zoom level can be controlled via keyboard shortcuts or UI found at the bottom of the document window.
You can access the arrange options under the Window>Arrange> menu
Screen mode has been added back to the bottom of the tool bar.
CS Live has been discontinued.
