Empty ottcfg.cfg

Hi there,
I've installed Oracle EE8.0.5.1 linux version, on
an existing standard version. Though the installation
went alright, I found that the ottcfg.cfg file in
$ORACLE_HOME/precomp/admin is empty. So I wonder if
somebody could send me a non-empty one.
Also, has anybody tried the object Pro*C sample?
I ran into problem with both at line 52, column 3 of
/usr/include/limits.h and an internal error.
Thanks in advance.

I managed to have a work-around this issue; I've added the following option: "-config=my.cfg" where my.cfg file contains:
userid=ayokomiz/******@ora11gm
This makes it work. The string in the file is the same as the string in the "userid" option as a command-line argument. However, it points to a bug in the OTT tool.

  • All config files in /etc are empty. Why and how to fix?

    Configuration files in /etc are all empty. I first noticed this when I was not able to sudo. I enabled root user and copied the sudoers~orig to sudoers. After, I noticed all the other files were empty as well. I copied over the ~orig version. Why is this happening?
    The following files were empty:
    afpovertcp.cfg
    csh.cshrc
    csh.login
    csh.logout
    ftpusers
    mail.rc
    named.conf
    bashrc
    passwd
    ssh_config
    prifle
    sshd_config
    networks
    master.passwd
    I copied all the ~orig version of the files back to repopulate the default configurations.

    After restoring the files it hasn't happened again. I really don't want to re-install again if I can. If the files don't erase themselves by tomorrow morning and after a few restarts, I won't re-install.

  • Linkwall not blocking URLS by IP address

    Hi
    We have noticed that linkwall does not block sites if you use the IP address rather than the DNS name. For example in the linkwall.lst file Poker.com - The home of online poker games, rules & tournaments will block that site but not the IP address of the site which can be obtained by dns lookup.
    Rules placed in the BM acl list in nwadmin do block the corresponding IP address.
    Does anybody know if this is working as designed - it doesn't really provide much protection this way.
    Many thanks
    Kerry

    HI Gonzalo
    Thanks - I have already tried the proxy.cfg with the DonotSendIPToACL set to 1 and 0 (restarted with -cc etc) and it made no difference. My understanding was that the switch only affected sites that were multihomed.
    Never mind - it certainly doesn't do the lookup with the third party tool so we looking into other options.
    Thanks for the input though

    Probably you're using an empty proxy.cfg file.

    About linkwall, Marcus already answered you.
    About bm, this behavior was changed to stop blocking multihoming
    servers. Multihoming servers are servers that with one ip address, they
    host various web servers. For example, a server with ip address 10.1.1.1
    is hosting Poker.com - The home of online poker games, rules & tournaments, www.penguins,com and www.dolphins.com
    So you block Poker.com - The home of online poker games, rules & tournaments, bm resolves this domain to 10.1.1.1 so this
    ip address is blocked as well. Now you try to access penguins.com
    and you're block. but you did not block this site. So to avoid that, a
    new switch was introduced for bm and the switch is placed on the
    proxy.cfg file:
    DonotSendIPToACL=1
    with this switch, only domain name will be blocked. Without it or set to
    0, both, domain name and ip will be blocked, so you can run into the
    issue with multihoming servers.

  • Help about Pro*C error message

    After installing the precompiler I'm trying to precompile my first 8.1.7 Pro*C code on a Mandrake 9.1 machine.
    Initianlly I had to edit my empty pcscfg.cfg file in order to add some values to the sys_include variable.
    But I'm getting this message:
    PCC-F-02144, CMD-LINE: Blank characters are not allowed on either side of an equal sign (=)
    Why the message doesn't tell me which file fails? I guess there must be a mistake in some header file.
    Any suggestion?

    The problem was in the pcscfg.cfg file (not exactly because of blanks by the "=" anyway).
    Now I get the following:
    Syntax error at line 43, column 9, file /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-mandrake-linux-gnu/3.2.2/include/stdarg.h:

    and a lot of more errors of the same kind.
    I don't know where the problem can be, I guess it must be something about the pcscfg.cfg file I've written:

    Any idea? Thanks in advance.

  • Help!! FILTERS.CFG empty

    Hello,
    NW65sp5/BM38SP4
    Reconfigured filters thru FILTCFG to change to new public interface. Had
    trouble with SMTP, added/deleted several filters, unsuccessfully.
    Switched to Mail Proxy with a single filter per TID10020917.
    Server abended (EIP in FILTSRV.NLM) after adding the last filter. Rebooted.
    When server came up, all filtering disabled, FILTERS.CFG was empty, all
    filters in eDir still.
    Per earlier post by CJ, tried loading and unloading filtcfg, server
    abended (same abend). Tried filtsrv_backup_filters file, soft-abended
    again, output file was zero byte.
    Any suggestions?
    Tia,
    Ken

    After rebooting FILTSRV_BACKUP_FILTERS worked, but didn't back up any of
    the filters in NBMRules container. FILTERS.CFG still empty.

  • How to create a custom panel in the right way (without having an empty panel in the file info) ?

    Hi Everyone
    My name is Daté.
    I'm working in the fashion industry as a designer and Design consultant to help fashion brands improving the design workflow by using Adobe softwares and especially Illustrator.
    I'm not a developper, but i'm very interested about the possibility to introduce xmp technology to provide more DAM workflows in the fashion industry.
    Fashion designers produce a lot of graphical objects in illustrator or Photoshop. Unfortunately they are faced to a big challenge which is about how to manage, search, classify and get this files faster. Of course PDM system or PLM system are used in the Fashion industry to manage data, but for many companies, implemanting this kind of database is very complex.
    When i look at what you can do with xmp, it seems to be an interesting way of managing design files, then i started to follow Adobe instruction to try to build a custom panel.
    The main idea is to (Theory) :
    create custom panels used by fashion designers to classify their design files.
    Use Adobe Bridge to search files, create smart collection to make basic reports in pdf and slideshows
    Find someone to make a script able to export metadata in xml files
    Use indesign and the xml file to generate automatically catalogues or technical sheets based on xmp values
    I have created a custom panel by using the generic panel provided by Adobe and i have modified the fields to feet with the terms used in the fashion industry and it works well.
    But unfortunately, when i try to create my own custom panel from scratch with Flashbuilder (4.6) and the Adobe CSExtensionBuilder_2 (Trial version), it doesn't work!
    Here is the process :
    I have installed flashbuilder 4.6
    I have download the XMP Fileinfo SDK 5.1 and placed the com.adobe.xmp.sdk.fileinfo_fb4_1.1.0.jar in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.6\eclipse\plugins
    In Flashbuilder, i have created a new project and select xmp Custom panel
    The new project is created in flashbuilder with a field with A BASIC Description Field
    To generate the panel, right click the project folder and select xmp / Publish Custom Panel
    The panel is automatically generated in the following folder : C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\custom file info panels\3.0\panels
      Go to illustrator, Open the file Info
    The panel appears empty
    The others panel are also empty
    The panel is created and automatically placed in the right folder, but when you open it in Illustrator by selecting the File Info option in the File Menu, this custom panel appears empty!!! (only the title of the tab is displayed). This panel also prevent the other panels to be displayed.
    When you delete this custom panels from the folder C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\custom file info panels\3.0\panels and go back to the File Info, the other panels display their content properly.
    I also try to use the plugin XMP Namespace designer to create my own namespace. this plugin is also able to generate a custom panel, but this one also appears empty in AI or Photoshop.
    I try to follow the process described in Adobe xmp documentation many times, but it didn't works.
    It seems that many peaople have this issue, but i dodn't find a solution in the forum.
    I try to create a trust file (cfg), but it didn't work.
    It would be so kind if you can help me to understand why i can't create a custom panel normally and how to do it in the right way.
    Thanks a lot for your help,
    Best regards,
    Daté

    Hi Sunil,
    After many trial, i realize the problem was not coming from the trust file, but from the way i have created the custom panel.
    There is 2 different ways, the first described below is not working whereas the second is fine :
    METHOD 1 :
    I have downloaded the XMP-Fileinfo-SDK-CS6
    In the XMP-Fileinfo-SDK-CS6 folder, i copied the com.adobe.xmp.sdk.fileinfo_fb4x_1.2.0.jar plugin from the Tools folder and i pasted it in the plugind folder of Flashbuilder 4.6
    The plugin install an XMP project
    In Flashbuilder 4.6 i have created a new project (File / New /Project /XMP/XMP Custom Panel)
    A new xmp project is created in flashbuilder.
    You can publish this project by right clicking the root folder and selecting XMP / Publish Custom Panel
    The custom file info panel is automatically published in the right location which is on Mac : /Users/UserName/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/3.0 or /Users/UserName/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/4.0
    Despite the publication of the custom file info panel and the creation of a trust file in the following location : "/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/FlashPlayerTrust", the panel is blank in Illustrator.
    I try this way several times, with no good results.
    METHOD 2 :
    I have installed Adobe CSExtensionBuilder 2.1 in Flash Builder
    In FlashBuilder i have created a new project (File / New /Project /Adobe Creative Suite Extension Builder/XMP Fileinfo Panel Project)
    As the system display a warning about the version of the sdk to use to create correctly a custom file info, I changed the sdk to sdk3.5A
    The warning message is : "XMP FileInfo Panel Projects must be built with Flex 3.3, 3.4 or 3.5 SDK. Building with Flex 4.6.0 SDK may result in runtime errors"
    When i publish this File info panel project (right click the root folder and select Run as / Adobe illustrator), the panel is published correctly.
    The last step is to create the trust file to display the fields in the panel and everything is working fine in Illustrator.
    The second method seems to be the right way.
    For sure something is missing in the first method, and i don't understand the difference between the XMP Custom Panel Project and the XMP Fileinfo Panel Project. Maybe you can explain it to me.
    So what is the best solution ? the right sdk to use acording to the creative suite (the system asks to use 3.3 or 3.5 sdk for custom panels, so why ?)
    I'm agree with Pedro, a step by step tutorial about this will help a lot of peaople, because it's not so easy to understand!!!
    Sunil, as you belong to the staff team, can you tell me if there is  :
    A plugin or a software capable to extract the XMP from llustrator files to generate XML workflows in Indesign to create catalogues
    A plugin to allow indesign to get custom XMP in live caption
    A plugin to allow Bridge to get custom XMP in the Outputmode to make pdf or web galeries from a smart collection
    How can you print the XMP data with the thumbnail of the file ?
    Thanks a lot for your reply.
    Best Regards
    Daté

  • Empty init() methods

    I am currently working on and cleaning up (old) Java servlet code that I inherited from another collegue. In a lot of the servlets, I find empty init() methods like:
    public void init() {
    }As a novice to Java servlets, I have just been reading the First Edition of Jason Hunter's 'Java Servlet Programming' book. There, on page 59 it is stated that every servlet's init() method should call super.init(config) as its first action. I was wondering if I could simply remove the empty init() methods that I encounter in the servlets... If i remove them, the init() method of the superclass will get called... and the behaviour of the superclass init() might be slightly different than an emtpy init() method... isn't it? But I wonder if it will make a big deal for my application...
    Are there any possible side effects to expect here? What could probably happen if remove the empty init() methods and consequently start using the init() method from the superclass?

    OK. Yesterday, I cleaned up all empty init() methods, now it's time for cleaning up all unnecessary init(ServletConfig cfg) methods. In the servlet code that i inherited from a collegue, I find a lot of servlets containing the following:
        public void init(ServletConfig cfg) throws ServletException {
            super.init(cfg);
        }In the meanwhile, i know that we are using Tomcat 5.5 as a container, so I looked into the Tomcat HttpServlet implementation and I found no init(ServletConfig cfg). I then looked at GenericServlet where i found:
        public void init(ServletConfig config) throws ServletException {
            this.config = config;
            this.init();
        }and since the init() method also doesn't do much, i think i can safely remove all
        public void init(ServletConfig cfg) throws ServletException {
            super.init(cfg);
        }methods in our own servlets... since what they do is actually just the same as the init(ServletConfig cfg) method from GenericServlet.
    Can somebody who is more experienced in Java Servlets than me confirm?
    Thanks!

  • Trace(); Flash 11; and mm.cfg

    I've tried a few things now, but I can't seem to get any trace output to a log file from either the Flash Player in my browser, or the separate Projector player.
    Here's my details:
    Flash browser plugin version: 11.1 (debugger version)
    Flash Projector: 11.1 (debugger version)
    OS: MacOS 10.6.8
    mm.cfg:
    ErrorReportingEnable=1
    TraceOutputFileEnable=1
    MaxWarnings=500
    Places where mm.cfg was saved and tested:
    /Users/jens/mm.cfg
    /Library/Application Support/Macromedia/mm.cfg
    /Users/jens/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/mm.cfg
    With these settings as they are, I expect text to appear in the default flashlog.txt file here:
    /Users/jens/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/Logs/flashlog.txt
    This file does exist. It's empty, by default, and it remains empty even after I run a little test program which works fine otherwise...
    package
      import flash.display.Sprite;
      import flash.text.TextField;
      [SWF(width="640", height="480", backgroundColor="#cccccc")]
      public class HelloWorld extends Sprite
        public function HelloWorld()
          var textField:TextField = new TextField();
          textField.text = "Hello World";
          addChild(textField);
          trace("Hello World");
    If I delete the flashlog.txt file, and run it again, a new flashlog.txt file is created, but is still empty. If I specify a different log file by adding the following line to my mm.cfg, the custom log file isn't even created. If I create a blank log file, and run my swf file again, it remains empty.
    TraceOutputFileName=/Users/jens/tmp/flashlog.txt
    The above file name is valid and tested and has liberal read/write permissions.
    Any suggestions left? Any reply at all will be appreciated!
    Jens.

    With the mm.cfg file in my home directory, it works, it took a few tries, but it works. Thanks

  • Sudoers file is empty - along with several others

    Note: This is a repost because I got no reply when I posted last week.
    So, what would you think of a /etc/ that had a lot of empty files - passwd, sudoers, etc.
    In several posts a well respected contributor stated: "If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator."
    I would normally think is right but .... After doing an fresh install of Mt. Lion to 10.8.2 with a migration of user data and other setting from a seperate disk, I am getting the "<username> is not in the sudoers file..." error message for admin users in the terminal - for all sudo commands ....
    Confused I went and created a new admin user and tried again ....same ....
    I went ahead and software updated to 10.8.4 with all other updates and then back to the terminal. Same thing .....
    I then typed this at the terminal
       cat /etc/sudoers
    and nothing happened ....odd.... so then
       la -lsaG /etc/sudoers
    and the sudoers file size is 0 ( zero ) .... odd ....
    so then
       la -lsaG /etc/
    and I notice lots of critical security related files are empty - 0 bytes - nothing in them....
    Thinking " *** and have I been hacked" and "How can a fresh install of Mt Lion, well protected from the interwebs be hacked allready."
    So, the question: What would a senior sysadmin type or an apple expert think of a /etc/ that had a lot of empty files - passwd, sudoers, etc.
    Thanx for taking a look....

  • B1if object schema empty in Integration service

    Hi all,
    Im following the tutorial called "Creating restful interfaces with B1if" and when I generate the atom2.xsl file I dont get any schema of the bussines partner.
    In the documentation it says  “If only an empty template  “B1if.object.schema.” is generated, because no relevant B1 object meta data available. Please refer to page#10" but really I dont know what to do, because I dont find anything useful in page 10.
    Does anybody have any idea about how can I solve this problem?
    Also I would like to know if there is any place where I can find more working examples of B1if web services.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jon Rioja

    I reply myself. I had to create the metadata from Maintenance menu, and after that click on cfg Meta Data and I solved it.

  • (ESS) FPM applications, cfg DCs & Enterprise Portal / Portal Content DC

    Hi everyone,
    I just replied to the Road Map Step Label Changes Issue thread in the Java Programming forum. Since I had a very specific question that seems more suitable in this forum, I decided to post it again over here.
    short introduction
    The SAP ESS SC contains FPM (Floor Plan Manager) applications that you can modify at runtime from within the portal using the Self-Service Administrator portal role. The point is that this content is also contained in the SAP_ESS SC in NWDI. It's contained in all those cfg DCs. They basically contain a (zip)archive that contains other (zip)archives that contain different XML files that eventually describe the FPM application. So what happens is that you can modify the FPM applications at runtime, but your changes are overwritten when the cfg DC is deployed afterwards.
    the details... and the questions...
    Concerning those cfg DCs. They're a very specific type of DC. The type is "Enterprise Portal" and the subtype is "Portal Content". In NWDS, this is described in the following XML file: C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.ide.eclipse.component.provider_2.0.0\componentTypes.xml When I was using NWDS 7.0 SP12, this particular type of DC was not visible (if I remember it correctly), i.e. I could not create a new DC of this type. NWDS SP12 also didn't contain the necessary plugin, com.sap.portal.pcd.ide.eclipse.nwdi.ui.NewPortalContentWizard, as described in the same XML file (or at least I couldn't find it). Since I installed NWDS SP14, the plugin is present and I can create this type of DC myself. But that doesn't help me that much, since the wizard just creates some empty DC and I don't have a clue how to populate it with the content of the FPM application. Unfortunately I also don't have a clue about how to modify the existing cfg DCs in SAP_ESS.
    BTW, some changes, e.g. a small textual change, is relatively easy to do: unzip the archive(s) in the cfg DC, modify the text in one of the XML files (for some reason the translation of the roadmap steps are present 4 times, if my memory doesn't fail on me) and zip everything again. This works fine for me.
    the $1 million question...
    Obviously, what I really like to know: how to modify the FPM applications on the portal using the Self-Service Administrator role (that's easy) and export it to a suitable archive that can be imported in the (SAP_ESS) cfg DCs? As long as this is not possible, meaning I don't have a clue how to do it, I'm forced to deploy the modified FPM applications, which I exported as an epa file, after each NWDI transport. And this is not very practical...
    I hope my (probably a bit too complex) explanation makes any sense.
    If someone else knows more about this subject or how to deal with it, please let me know. tnx!
    Kind regards,
    /Sigiswald

    Hi,
    Did you ever found a suitable solution for this. We are facing the same problem at the moment.
    Kind Regards,
    Igor Vernelen.

    Iam using Oracle 9ias release 2.when ever I check my middle tier architecture forms session details it allways shows as empty allthough there are more then 5 users connected and using forms service thru Oracle 9ias.
    Why is this happening?
    Is there a workaround or configuration I have to do
    Thanks in advance
    Santosh

    Thanks for the reply Carlos
    I have modified my formsweb.cfg and updated em_mode=1
    I have restarted my OC4J_BI_Forms,Http server
    But still none of the forms sessions are getting displayed whenever the user connects
    Is there anything else I need to do?
