Enabling FlexUnit in FB4 Standard (aka Adobe Greed)

I was unpleasantly suprised that after prurchase of CS 5 Web Premium, I did not get a FB Premium with it. So after already paying more than I did for Mac Book Pro with all the dev tools and OS included, Adobe decided they need some more, so I should pay $500 extra to upgrade my Flash Builder, which Adobe obviously doesn't regard as something essential to Web Development, hence not included in the Web Premium collection.
OK, sorry for the rant against a greedy corporation that does everything to undermine itself and our beloved "Flash Platform", my question is this. How do I enable Flex Unit inside FB standard? Is there any workflow I could use?

I like to run individual test cases in FlashBuilder. And with Ant, I like to run all test cases. But I am not sure if you have this option with the Standard version. Looking at this chart (click on the Version comparison tab) that version doesn't have "FlexUnit support". If only the Premium version has FlexUnit support within the IDE, then I would say its worth the upgrade. However the reason why I choose Premium over Standard was for the Network monitor. Sadly, I never got the Network Monitor to work (see here). If Network Monitor is the only option needed to upgrade, then I would recommend using a third party HTTP monitor.
Update: Although $500 is a lot to upgrade. I would look into perhaps using Ant to run your test cases if your IDE doesn't support it. See if you can work efficiently in that environment. If its cumbersome, then perhaps at that point in time you can justify spending $500 for the upgrade.

Try the Batch Process feature in Acrobat Pro Extended. You'll still have to do it after the files are converted, but it may keep you from having to set that feature one PDF at a time. Go to Advanced > Document Processing > Batch Processing...
This 'might' be able to do what you need.

Those requirements are go way beyond what PDF forms can do and are meant for, some of them would require involving other programs or are mutually exclusive and contradictory. You are wasting your time even thinking about doing this as an "offline" PDF form. Simply sign up for an online forms/ survey service like FormsCentral or Surveymonkey.

Standard SAP Adobe Template in Adobe Interactive form

Hi folks,
Does any one knows how to import a standard SAP Adobe template (for eg :- PR template or SO create template) which is given by SAP into Adobe Interactive form UI element in Webdynpro perspective. I tried opening Adobe Interactive element by editing it and tried for import a std adobe template but I did not see any option to do so.

if you are involved in an SAP-internal project, which includes the development of a form, there are probably internal ways to do that.
If you need any of the official customer-ready forms we ship, you would need access to a mySAP ERP 2004 system and try and get one of the print forms out of that system. SAP is currently not providing any of their official forms outside the respective application.
As for your second question, first a clarification: The template as such is not in the system as PDF, but in a format called XDP. The PDF is the generated document that includes the system data.
Calling another system via BAPI and RFC is supported as part of the Web Dynpro for Java framework, and obviously in ABAP. As you need to define a form context to determine where your data for the form comes from, this data can come from other systems using BAPI/RFC. This is SAP functionality supported in SAP NetWeaver '04.

Batch file enable for commenting and analysis in Adobe Reader

I have over 18000 GeoPDFs created and want to enable for commenting and analysis in Adobe Reader. Can anyone step me through how to set this up in Adobe LiveCycle?

To enable the Commenting in Adobe Reader you can either use Acrobat or LiveCycle Reader Extentions.
But, in Acrobat (even in Acrobat X) you cannot enable those Usage Rights via batch.
This means you will have to do this for each file separately.
Attention: The commenting will only be enabled for static forms (PDF-forms), not for dynamic forms (XFA-forms)!
Possible the LiveCycle Reader Extentions can do that, but this product is very, very expensive and I don't have it.

I can't find any information that distinguishes these two mutually exclusive settings. I'm trying to decide which is best when creating a tagged PDF from MS Word. If anyone has a clue, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Enable this to create a tagged PDF. If this is disabled, the PDF will not be accessible. Tags tell a screen reader where headings, lists, and tables are.
"Enable advanced tagging" (Turn this off)
This looked promising, as it changed the name of tags to match Styles used in Word. For example, it changes "H1" to "Heading 1" and "P" to "Normal". Unfortunately, this feature is buggy. Test thoroughly. Using this feature, I've had plain paragraphs tagged as "Heading 2", even though the tag name itself remained mapped to "P" in Acrobat Role Mapping screen (so error in naming the tag). However, some headings were mapped to paragraph tags (error in logical tagging). I've also had table cells tagged according to the style of an element in another cell. In short, it's risky feature. Adobe says this feature is "Useful for Microsoft Word forms". I have not seen that and don't recommend you use this until it's fixed.

I just came up against a stunning example of Adobe's apparently boundless greed.
I have been a loyal Photoshop owner since approximately version 3 (I honestly don't remember - but the oldest CD-ROM disk I have in my library is a Photoshop 7 upgrade disk).
Several years ago I upgraded to the Design Standard Suite, and have upgraded repeatedly to CS4. However, I rarely use anything other than Photoshop.
I have now learned (the VERY hard way) that Adobe will not allow me to buy the upgrade version of Photoshop CS5. If you own a suite, you can only upgrade the entire suite, with my minimum cost being $499.00!!!
Well, I just ceased to be an Adobe supporter, and may very possibly become a bootleg software user, because I think Adobe is simply being GREEDY beyond reason!
I bought an upgrade that I can't use. MAYBE Adobe will refund my money, but in any case, I won't be a user of Photoshop CS5.

In ignorance it's not unreasonable that BenT should have expected to be able to upgrade. This "suite lock-in" not common practice. That the "deal" he took advantage of should have contained this unexpected "gotcha" (which BenT missed, and which prevents the expected upgrade pricing) in the first place is what I'm debating here.
I'm the first one who will say that putting up guard rails will encourage ignorant people to take more chances, because they think "if it were dangerous, they'd have put up a guardrail". But that's not to say there should be no guardrails. Put simply, business practices should be straightforward and clear.
For what it's worth, this very policy has backfired with me, inasmuch as I have personally refused to buy into the Suite thing precisely because of this issue. I use Photoshop only, and I make do with it. I'm sure I could make good use of their other packages, and if Adobe's bundling and upgrade policies didn't involve this twisted ruleI might even have bought the whole suite.
Adobe: What money you think you might have set yourself up to make on BenT by not allowing him to upgrade you lost on him, because he's not buying the full version of CS5 now. And you lost even more on me by not selling me a Suite. Simplify your upgrade rules.

I am struggling to find an email address to enable me to contact Adobe re my monthly rental fee for creative cloud which is higher than it should be since I already have CS4 extended. I don't think Adobe wants to make it easy for its customers to talk to them!

Baffled! What are adobe acrobat 8.1 standard and adobe reader 8.1.05

My laptop has installed adobe acrobat 8.1 standard. I need to complete an online form which requires a minimum of adobe reader 8.1.05 so I downloaded adobe reader X, assuming this would work, but get a pop-up notice telling me I need to upgrade and still cannot insert text in the form. Can anyone advise me what I need to download? I really am confused what the adobe acrobat does and what the reader does!

The developer very poorly phrased the requirement.
The proper phrasing could be "You need to update your version of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to minimum version of 8.1.05."
Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat are 2 distinct products, one only reads the other is a full processing product., but both products interact with the same file format and for the same version number Adobe Acrobat has the same capabilities that Adobe Reader has and then some features that are unique to Acrobat.
With JavaScirpt a developer can identify the product (Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat), the variation (Reader, Standard, Professional, Business Tools) and the major and minor version of the product. And with that information and knowledge of the capabilities of each version, can make a custom message for the end user if a newer version is needed. This script can be executed as the PDF is opened. With some simple coding the developer could have even cusotmized the message for the procuct that tue user had. Had this been done, it would have been very clear as what you had to do. This information and properties have been avilable since the introduction of JavaScript in vesion 3.01.
