Enabling JVM in Oracle 10g Express

I'm trying to enable JVM on my Oracle 10g Express database. However, the script I'm told to run - initjvm.sql - doesn't exist anywhere on my computer. Neither does the folder javavm and I can't find anything that says how to get a hold of them.
Help? :(

Hi:
Oracle Express edition (XE) do not include Oracle internal JVM.
AFAIK the decision to not include this feature was to reduce the size of the installer package.
Oracle JVM is included on Oracle Standard Edition One and EE.

It might be possible.
Realize, however, that the Oracle JVM is a component of the Standard Edition One and higher - so to be able to use it you need to license Standard Edition One or higher.
If you are going to violate the license anyway, why not stick with an Edition that contains the JVM.

Oracle 10g Express edition,can't visit database homepage

I have installed Oracle 10g Express edition without error meggage, It seems goes well ,but when I want to visit my database_homepage on http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex, I see this:

I have a problem with oracle 10g express edition

Hello,
I have just installed oracle 10g express edition and I have a problem with the script editor. I can write anything in the window that appears below buttons undo,redo and find, It is like disabled. I use windows XP, Firefox 2.0 ( I have also tried with Iexplorer and It does not work either). I have javascript enabled.
anyone knows what is the problem?
Later,I have installed it in a virtual machine of Windows 2003 Server and It works well but I`d rather use it in my Microsoft XP

It looks like you can fix this if you replace the codearea.xbl.xml and codearea.iframe.html files in the
/i/editor folder with files from an Apex 2.2.1 installation - such as the one on apex.oracle.com.
Since I don't know what the licensing implications are, I will let you figure out the details.

Not able to create partitions using Oracle 10g express edition

Hello Everyone,
I downloaded Oracle 10g express edition as the documentation for the same says that it supports partitioning of the table.
But when I try to run a command like

I get the following error
"ORA-00439: feature not enabled: Partitioning"
Please let me know what is causing the issue/error and how to resolve it.

Where did you read that the express edition supports partitioning? I would strongly suspect that there was an error in the documentation-- partitioning is an extra cost option on top of an enterprise edition database. Perhaps you are confusing the personal edition (which does support partitioning) with the express edition?

Running Oracle 10g Express without Web connection.

Hello Oracle Users/Friends
I previously used Oracle 8i on an older machine running Windows 98. No web connections required to run database. Have just installed Oracle 10g Express Edition on newer machine running XP Pro. Suddenly Web connections required for database Homepage etc. All cool. But, I just want to start database without requiring Web connections to practise plsql stuff.
It is probably an easy configuration somewhere, but could someone just explain how to start/run database without Web connection?
I also want to run the database from laptop while travelling on train and hence want to navigate through all features of Oracle 10g without web connection.
I guess a further question is simply what is the advantage of the database connecting to Web for someone like myself who is just wanting to run all queries etc locally on the base PC?
Would appreciate advice on this matter.

Well, when installing XE out of the box, all remote connections from other machines are disallowed by default.
Thus only you can access the management user interface of XE. The GUI is run in a web browser, thus you will need the web connection for yourself on your local machine. This is a very good reason to have the web connection enabled ;).
In order to disallow any web connections (even from your local machine) you can use dbms_xdb.sethttpport('0'); ( http://daust.blogspot.com/2006/01/xe-changing-default-http-port.html ) .

PS. even with a different SID, only a single XE instance can be run at a time - you can however have 2 different ones defined and then use one at a time (e.g. testing international settings, init param differences, etc.)

windows server 2003 in D drive. but i can't remove because the oracle not in
the add remove program so i download the windows install clean up to remove
but after remove it still in the all program i still can start and stop the
database but can't go to the database home page.The error message (the install
cannot proceed as service OracleServiceXE is present on the system. Remove the
service , reboot the systemand retry the installation) can any one guide me to use
command prompt to remove.

What Are the Tables in new oracle 10g express

I am new at oracle and I just installed the Oracle 10g express. after login to the oracle by SQL Developer I noticed there are lots of tables in table folder which some of them come with $ and some not! can you please let me know what are these tables for? are they like system tables in SQL Server? if so then what are the tables under
