Enabling the Debug Mode

Hello!
I can't enable the debug mode as descibed here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/e4fa02855c2e97e10000000a155369/frameset.htm.
There isn't "Start Debug Session..." in the context menu.
How can I enable the debug mode on the fly?
Regards,
Armin

Your probably missing the oracle debug privileges then. I can never remember them off hand but its something like debug any procedure and connect any session that are needed

    Hello All,
            In our EP server 7.0(stand alone java) apart from SDM we need to enable the Debug mode for Dispatcher and Server0.I tried to do it from mmc but cannot do so.When I try to right click & enable from mmc the "Enable Process" is not highlited,it is disabled.How Can I enable the the Debug mode for Dispatcher and Server0?

    Hi
    Goto Configtool Select Instance_IDxxxxx on the right side you can see "Servers Debug" tab, select that and choose, enable debug and debuggable options.
    Save the settings.
    Then expand the above mentioned node and select Server_IDxxxxxxx , you will see a tab Debug select it and choose, enable debug and debuggable options.
    Save the settings.
    After it is done, take a restart of the instance. This should help you.

  • How to Enable the debugging of process

    hai,
    I am using nwds , i want to debug my webdynpro application, but from my netweaver the context menu of server(in j2ee engine view) all the elements are in disable. how can i enable the context menu options.
    regards,

    Hi Naga,
    You will have to strat the J2EE engine first in the debuggine mode. For doing that follow these steps:
    You can start the debugging mode in two ways.
    <b>1) Through NWDS:</b>
    <b>Go to SAP J2EE Engine Cluster Overview-> Server 0 -> (Right Click)-> Enable Debugging of Process.</b>
    This will automatically restart your J2EE engine. And after it is restarted successfully, the debug mode will be ON.
    <b>2) Through Config Tool:</b>
    You can enable the debuggine mode from the Config Tool as well. Just visit the following path :
    <b>C:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<SYS_NO>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat</b>
    Click on the your instance. Then under the tab VM Environment, Set the <b>DebugMode = true</b>.
    Restart the engine now. This will open the J2EE server again in the Debug Mode.
    I hope this helps you!!

  • Explicit enhancement implementation not seen in the debug mode

    Hi All,
    I have implemented a explicit enhancement implementation via a source code plugin. But i could neither keep a break point in any lines of the source code plugin nor see those lines in the debug mode.  I changed the already available implementation in the enhancement section. I have implemented this enhancement for the Function Module CK_F_ASSEMBLY_COSTING.  The enhancement section is as given below...
    ENHANCEMENT-SECTION     CK_F_ASSEMBLY_COSTING_05 SPOTS ES_SAPLCK00.
    END-ENHANCEMENT-SECTION.
    I created a enhancement from the above section as below...
    $$-Start: CK_F_ASSEMBLY_COSTING_05----
    $$
    ENHANCEMENT 3  /SAPMP/GENERAL_SAPLCK00.    "active version
    ENDENHANCEMENT.
    Is there anything i need to activate other than activating the enhancement? How to make the enhanced source code execute..Plz help..Thanks..

    This is a standard implementation, not yours! Moreover, this implementation belongs to switch /SAPMP/GENERAL, which may be switched off in your system (it is deactivated in mine).
    If you want to implement your own one, create a ZXXXX implementation, and you'll see something like ENHANCEMENT 1 ZXXXX. ... ENDENHANCEMENT.

  • The program is automatically launching into the debug mode.

    Hi,
    I have written a small servlet program. When I try to run the program it automatically launches itself into the debug mode. I have tried all things but I am not able to prevent this from happening. Can anyone help me with this.
    Regards,
    Prashant

    My guess is you have one or more breakpoints set in the application. When it its that breakpoint, it goes into debug mode. Run the application and not what file and what line it stops on. In Eclipse IDE, you will see a blue dot next to the line that the breakpoint is on. Click on the blue dot to remove it. If your code is not too large, look through all *.java files for that blue dot and remove them.

  • Enable the archivelog mode?

    Hi,
    I've tuned on the archive log mode already. However, the value of "log_archive_start" is FALSE. After than I edit init.ora change it to TRUE and shutdown DB, startup mount and then alter database open. But the value of "log_archive_start" still "FALSE". What I have done wrong? And what is consequence if the value "FALSE"?

    Hmm, looks like an issue. I hope you followed the steps mentioned below to enable archiving.
    1. Shutdown db
    2. Edit init.ora and set log_archive_start=TRUE
    3. Startup mount pfile=init.ora
    4. ALTER DATABASE ARCHIVELOG;
    5. ALTER DATABASE OPEN
    The "ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG START;" command will also start the archiving without having to re-start the db. However the archiving will not persists on restarting the db. Hence the 5-steps mentioned above is the way to go.
    Which method did you follow ? Also are you using spfile? In that case you have to enable log_archive_start in spfile using the following command
    alter system set log_archive_start=true scope=spfile
    Execute the following command in order to test whether archiving is happening or not :-
    SQL>archive log all;

  • How to enable the "debug" flag in Linux (ubuntu)

    Hi,
    I want the error message dialogs to pop up when I run an installed AIR application, running it normally, not with the ADL.
    In Windows and Mac, I can accomplish this by creating an empty file or folder called "debug" inside the
    (application install folder)/META-INF/AIR
    However, this doesn't work in Linux.
    On linux, I read somewhere (cannot find it now) that you can do the same by typing:
    export AIRDEBUG=1
    in a terminal.
    This works only if I launch the applications from the same terminal; that is, I have to open a terminal and write:
    export AIRDEBUG=1
    /opt/myapplication/bin/myapplication
    In the same article that suggested this, it also suggested that you could add the "export AIRDEBUG=1" line to the .bashrc file so it would be automatically executed at startup.
    However, it still only works if I launch the applications from a terminal. That is, I don't have to write "export AIRDEBUG=1" every time, but I still have to open a terminal and launch the application from the command line.
    I want it to work also when I launch the application normally from the panel menu shortcut that was automatically created when installing the app.
    Any idea?
    thanks

    Hi Lars Klippert
    Sorry for the late reply. First of all, thank you for uncovering an untested part of ServerDebug MBean. The Debug Mode for Security Realms currently works for fileRealm but doesnot work for alternate realms(e.g., LDAP realm). We're in the process of fixing this in the future releases(may not be Beta Refresh but will definitely be fixed in GA). I'm attaching a working config.xml(with fileRealm) and the only change you've to make to your config.xml is
    <Server
    <ServerDebug
    DebugSecurityRealm="true"
    Name="myserver"
    />
    </Server>
    If you're debugging a fileRealm then I belive, this serves your purpose. But if you're debugging a Security Realm other than fileRealm and this is blocking you, plz let us know so that this will be fixed with a higer priority. Thanks again for uncovering this. We will let you know as soon as this is fixed.

    I also get the exception then i disable the debug-modus and
    initialize the weblogic.logging.LogOutputStream by hand.
    For our EntityBeans we have developed a custom error logger
    that uses the weblogic.logging.LogOutputStream and it works
    fine. Maybe the error only acccours if two or more
    weblogic.logging.LogOutputStreams are active...
    With the 5.1.0 version of the server everything works fine.

  • Enable SMTP debug for OIM 11g notifications

    Hi,
    OIM 11g here. I am trying to set up reset password notification, but no way. I would like to know how to enable the debug mode to see what SMTP commands are issued towards the mail server. I have already trying setting to TRACE:32 the logger class oracle.iam.notification, but didn't help
    thanks in advance.
    Alex

    Rajiv,
    that's exactly what I have tried, i created an IT Resource (Mail server type) with authentication=false, no user/password (the server allows unauthenticated connections) and the hostname of the SMTP server (reachable, no firewall in between). The IT Resource name is the same one that i have specified in the system properties. That's all and it didn't work. No error, only something like "mail notification not successful". That's why I am asking a way to see the SMTP commands issued by OIM.

  • Server looses Debug mode after a restart

    Hello,
    At the NWDS there is an option to enable the Server debug mode. When I do that the server restarts and debug mode is on. The problem is that if I restart the server again it looses the debug mode and than I have to enable it again from the NWDS (Which, again, requires a restart). The same symptom is happen if I do the enable through the Config tool at the Debug tab.
    Any idea why this happen?
    Roy

    Hey Shubhadip,
    I think you misunderstood my problem: I did save it, otherwise how the debig mode will be on. The problem is that after ANOTHER restart (after the restart to enable the debug mode) it loses the debug mode again.

    Hi Archana,
    If u can't start the server in debugging mode thru NWDS then u can try this
    Config Tool:
    U can enable the debuggine mode from the Config Tool as well. Just browse to following
    C:usrsap<SID>JC<SYS_NO>j2eeconfigtoolconfigtool.bat
    Click on the your instance. Then under the tab VM Environment, Set the DebugMode = true.
    Restart the engine now. This will open the J2EE server again in the Debug Mode.

    Hi,
      You can create dynamic types and data for those types are run time.
      lets assume that you have structure of some type and you have work area of that type.
    DATA: lv_data type SPFLI.
    DATA: lr_rtti_struc TYPE REF TO cl_abap_structdescr.
    DATA: lt_comp       TYPE cl_abap_structdescr=>component_table.
    DATA: ls_comp       LIKE LINE OF lt_comp.
    DATA: lr_data       TYPE REF TO data.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_data> TYPE ANY.
        lr_rtti_struc ?= cl_abap_structdescr=>describe_by_data( lv_data ).
        lt_comp = lr_rtti_struc->get_components( ).
    "Now  lets remove two fileds from the table as follows.
    LOOP AT lt_comp into ls_comp.
    DELETE lt_comp INDEX sy-tabix.
    IF sy-tabix = 2.
    EXIT. " Delete two components of the structure now lt_comp as two components less from SPFLI
    ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
        CALL METHOD cl_abap_structdescr=>create
          EXPORTING
            p_components = lt_comp
            p_strict     = abap_false
          RECEIVING
            p_result     = lr_rtti_struc.
    CREATE DATA lr_data TYPE HANDLE lr_rtti_struc. "Now you have data of the new type
        ASSIGN lr_data->* TO <fs_data>.
        CREATE DATA lr_table LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF <fs_data>.
        ASSIGN lr_table->* TO <fs_table>.
