Encoding url in web dynpro

hi
i have creatend an abap webdynpro which send to an Employee pdf file with his details. In the url i have the a variable which contains the employee pernr and the program in the webdynpro controller calculate his details according to this pernr.
Is there a way to hid or encode this part in the url  (cause i dont want that the user will have a way to chabge the pernr no in the url and watch other employee details ) ?
thanks
elad

You should generate a GUID for every employee in your database and save it in the same table. For instance you have employee 1234. You run FM GUID_CREATE and the GUID is DFEC37D77015D8F19D1B005056995118. Now save this GUID in the table where your employee master data is stored (use an append structure or so). When you generate the URL include this GUID instead of the pernr so something like http://my.system/wdapp/get_details?guid=DFEC37D77015D8F19D1B005056995118. In your application you can select the corresponding employee from the masterdata table as you saved the GUID with his pernr. I can't make it simpler than this
Rob's approach is the best way to go, security-wise! But it requires that all employees have a user ID in the system.

  • Set Portal Page URL in Web Dynpro IFrame

    Hi All,
    I've a Web Dynpro application that runs in the portal.
    The application creates iframes dynamically.
    I want to set in the iframes portal pages.
    In order to get the page's url, I go to content admin, navigate to the page and then press the 'preview' button then I copy the url from the browser's address bar.
    I copy the url from the '/irj....' to the src property of the IFrame UI element.
    So the source property looks something like this:
    /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.mycomp.Omri!2fcom.mycomp.TestPage
    When I run the project I get:
    <i>Portal Runtime Error
    An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    Access denied (Object: portal_content/.../...).
    Exception id: 06:01_17/10/06_0015_4401150
    See the details for the exception ID in the log file</i>
    The page's permissions are set to everyone so I don't know why do I get this error.
    So, how do I set portal page url in Web Dynpro IFrame?
    p.s
    I tried to use NavigatinTarget in the URL and it works. The problem is that the TLN is included. I want to display only the page.
    Thanks,
    Omri

    Hi Valery,
    I have only one domain...
    I searched SDN and I found this post:
    /message/1259616#1259616 [original link is broken]
    Daniel Wroblewski from SAP says:
    <i>This, naturally, sounds like a permission issue. Two steps:
    You must give the Everyone group end-user permission to the iView. This will eliminate the error and cause a login screen to display.
    If you want to eliminate the login screen, you must set the iView property Authentication Scheme to anonymous.</i>
    I will try it tomorrow in the Office.

  • How to catch URL parameter from Portal URL in Web Dynpro iView

    Hi All,
    I have a web dynpro application running as a portal iView successfully. Now the client wants to make it internationalized with 7 languages. Currently they access the portal - and via role assignment they get to the portal tab with the wd iView. Now they want to send a parameter for the language key with the portal URL. So when they are typing in http://myportal.mydomain.com now they want to type in http://myportal.mydomain.com?sap-locale=de or so. My question is how can I catch this parameter in the WD application when it is running inside a portal iView? Is it at all possible?
    I have written a very small application which is trying to catch a URL parameter named PARAM. The code I have written is the default one as below:
    String paramValue = WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter().getRequestParameter("PARAM");
    When I run the application standalone and add the PARAM=something in last of the URL I can catch it. But when I create an iView and while previewing it I add the same PARAM value it is coming as null all the time. Same when I add this iView to a role and show it via role assignment in protal. Please help to let me know how to achieve this. I think if I can read the parameter value from Portal URL in the WD iView - then I can set it as the default locale of the application and then show language specific file to achieve internationalization.
    Your urgent help will be highly appreciated.
    Warm Regards,
    Shubho

    Hi Shubhadip
    Even if you get the parameters, how do you internationalize your application? Are you not following the standard way as described in the following link. In this case you never need to capture any such parameter. This is done by the WD runtime automatically .
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/f4/d95664da179b4db731e21c2e470b72/frameset.htm">Internationalization of WD projects</a>
    You can retrieve application parameters specified at the creation of iview by "adding parameters(with the same name as in iview application parameters) to the default plug of the Component Interface View of the WD application". "onDefaultPlug" method of the interface view controller you get these values as parameters, which you can save in the context node of component controller for later use.This is guaranteed to work.
    But again this is not what you want exactly. You want the user to specify the value at runtime. If you have just 7 languages, you can create 7 set of iviews with different application parameter value indicating language key, and assign to 7 different set of roles, each representing one set of users with common language.
    I hope you find a solution.

  • Wrong URL in Web Dynpro Application explorer

    Dear Team,
    The Web Dynpro Application explorer is showing wrong URL:
    URL             HTTP://server2.domainname.COM:1090/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zz_pt_hello
    And this is not a correct URL.
    Where as the actual URL should be :
    https://server1.domainname.com:8030/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zz_pt_hello
    But when I test the service,  /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zz_pt_hello,  in sicf t-code, the test works successfully with the desired URL i.e. https://server1.domainname.com:8030/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zz_pt_hello.
    the profile parameter: icm/host_name_full   has value server1.domainname.com.
    Please guide me to resolve this problem.
    regards

    Hi,
    The hostname for the application server is checked by the following parameters in this order. Can you please verify that the SAPLOCALHOSTFULL is the correct hostname.
    (1) SAPLOCALHOSTFULL
    (2) icm/host_name_full
    If both of these are correct can you check the Hosts file in the /etc/hosts folder for the correct entry.

  • Active a URL in web dynpro iview with out using LinkToURL button?

    Hello everybody;
    Is it possible to directly activate a URL in iview without using any buttons (e.g. LinkToURL)?
    I've develloped a Web Dynpro project. I have placed my code in the INIT function in iview, and I want the URL to activate automatically when INIT is opened. At the moment I have used the LinkToURL function to activate the URL, but I want to avoid this step.
    In EP iview it is possible to do this using Javascript, but Javascript is not allowed in Web Dynpro.
    Any ideas and suggestions are very welcome.

  • Google maps url in Web dynpro for java

    Hi all,
    Can someone tell how I can create a Google Url and show this Url in a Iframe in a Web dynpro. I can create an url but I see the google webpage with the map. I just want only see the map in my Iframe!
    Kind Regards,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
    One solution that comes to mind is to have a URL parameter embedded. So the path that you have set to the iframe can be extended say for example http://<your path to HTML file in Mimes>?undefined=<address specific to the user>
    Next thing to do is extract the URL parameter undefined by JavaScripting. So you can pass the address value to this param.
    Once you have this you can trigger this by passing different addresses to URL parameter each time.
    Replace the wdDoInit() by following code:
    public void wdDoInit()
        //@@begin wdDoInit()
         try {
              String resourcePath = WDURLGenerator.getWebResourceURL(wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart(), "GoogleMapAPI.html");
              wdThis.wdGetContext().currentContextElement().setPath(resourcePath + "?undefined=Mumbai");
         } catch (WDURLException e) {
         wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getMessageManager().reportException(e.getMessage(),true);
         } catch (WDRuntimeException e) {
              wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getMessageManager().reportException(e.getMessage(),true);
        //@@end
    Though I have hardcoded the location in above URL, i guess you got what i am indicating at!!
    Even after all this, be carefull in preparing the URL which might result invalid URL due to special chars.
    For Example: New York will result in invalid URL as <space> is not allowed. Ideally, it would have been New%20York. But then google API will no understand %20. Hence, I recommend you to replace %20 by <space> before calling Google API [You will have to write it in initialize() method of HTML file].
    Also, replace the function initialise() in GoogleMapAPI.html
    function initialize() {
          if (GBrowserIsCompatible()) {
            // This function is anonymous, is executed immediately and
          var query_string = {};
            var query = window.location.search.substring(1);
            var vars = query.split("&");
            for (var i=0;i<vars.length;i++) {
              var pair = vars<i>.split("=");
              // If first entry with this name
              if (typeof query_string[pair[0]] === "undefined") {
                query_string[pair[0]] = pair[1];
                //this.address.value = pair[1];
                 map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map_canvas"));
                 geocoder = new GClientGeocoder();
                 showAddress(pair[1]);
    I hope your address issue is addressed by me now!!

  • Get HTTPS URL for Web dynpro application

    We are using SSL. By default the URL generated for the Web dynpro application is HTTP.
    We went to SICF, and deactivated the HTTP service. That made the URL point to HTTPS.
    But few problems started coming because of it:
    - Our Content server became inaccessible.
    - Every time server is re-started, we need to manually go and de-activate HTTP Service.
    We even tried to set the parameter icm/icm/HTTP/redirect_0. But problem is not solved.
    I know this question is asked before, but every time the answer is to read the help document on ICM.
    What's the correct way for any webdynpro application to point to HTTPS? I don't think de-activating HTTP service is the right way.
    Any suggestions please?
    Thanks in adv.

    Thanks a lot Thomas. I'd ask the Portal Admin to try it out.
    There is another similar problem we are facing: I have embedded Webdynpro in R/3 screen. Then used the cl_gui_wdr_viewer class's load_application method passing HTTPS protocol.
    It returns HTTPS URL only, but is not showing up on users' laptops.
    Earlier we were not passing HTTPS protocol, so generated URL was HTTP, and it was not showing on users' screen (can show in ours). Reason we found out is that users' site has HTTP port blocked. They cannot show any HTTP url.
    So we changed to get HTTPS URL, but that also gives the same problem. It is still trying to get HTTP url.
    Here is the URL that the users got: (when they right click to see the URL generated)
    res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm#http://abc.def.jil:8000/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client=220
    Can give any clues on why this is going wrong? Cannot raise OSS as I know embedding Webdynpro in R/3 is not supported
    Thanks in adv.

  • URL in Web Dynpro

    Here is what I am going.
    I retrieve data from a function and it returns a table.  I loop though the table and based on a key column, I set a corresponding URL.  I wanted to display that url right next to the record that I retrieve, thats why I wanted to put it in the table.    The URL is something I am creating on my own.
    Isn't it easier to fill a Value Attr. and use it in the Table's LinkToURL?
    Maybe - I do not know, that is why I'm asking, what do I need to use and how do I use it.
    Thank you!

  • Help with redirecting URL from Web Dynpro

    Hi,
    I have a question regarding how i can construct a URL where i would like to forward the user from a WD app based on some user interaction.
    The problem is that i need to know the protocol, server & host to resend the control to ( basically append these values to a url path that i have eg: <http(s)>://<host>:<port>/<the path i have>).  With NW2004s, the request object is not exposed to us anymore, so i am wondering what is the best way to construct the url.
    I have gone through various posts here and the one that came closest to accomplishing what i need is the one by Valery S which recommends creating a Servlet that captures the request info that i need and then calling the WD app including the info that i need as request parameters in the calling URL.
    Before i do this, i want to see if anyone has been able to solve this through another approach.
    Appreciate the inputs.
    Best Regards
    Renchy Thomas

    Renchy,
    Now I see you are conflicting with yourself
    On one hand, if you need to redirect to the application hosted on the same server you need no protocol/server/port parameters. And you confirmed that this works for you.
    On other hand, you are complaining that WD doesn't know in advance the protocol/host/port of arbitrary server you are planning to redirect to. Well, as I understand this is not API issue, this is configuration issue. You just need some configurable way to store such settings.
    If this is true, then I can suggest 2 options:
    1. HTTPDestination -- you are setting and configuring destination via VisualAdministrator, then from your code you are lookup destinitation by logical name and get physical URL.
    2. IWDConfiguration / WDConfiguration -- you are creating settings as regular properties file, after deployment you may tweak this property file with VisualAdministrator. From code you are using WDConfiguration API to read URL or parts of URL as properties.

  • How to pass and fetch multiple parameter in the URL of the Web Dynpro

    Please help me to fetch parameter in runtime from the URL in web dynpro allication. Like

    I want to fetch the value of the SAPtestId, Test1 and Test2 in the web Dynpro Application.
    Please help me on this asap. thanks

    Hi Arun,
    Passing parameter to a wen dynpro application is done throught default inbound plug, which exist in interface viewcontroller
    and you can access those parameter in implementaion of default inbound plug
    To pass parameter
    If MainWin is your main window of application then
    1.in MainWininterfaceview controller add parameters in default inbound plug.
    To access these parameter
    1. In implementaion of MainWininterface view right a code to access these parameter
    2.Store these parameters  in controller context, so you will be access it from any screen
    as
    public void onPlugDefault(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent, java.lang.String SAPtestId )
        //@@begin onPlugDefault(ServerEvent)

  • Replacing web dynpro application URL

    Hi Experts,
            I have created a web dynpro application with 2 views. view 1 has a button when I click on it it opens view2 in "external window". To do this I am getting absolute URL using cl_wd_utilities=>construct_wd_url and pass this URL into lr_window_manager->create_external_window and everything works great. Now, I integrated my web dynpro into MSS portal iview. When I click the button on view1 it tries to go to different URL (We have single sign on ) instead of actual URL which is "HTTP://<host>.<domain>.<extension>.<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/mycomponent". In portal the section "HTTP://<host>.<domain>.<extension>.<port>/" is getting replaced by "https://dev.xxxxx.com" and due to this a blank page opens up because this URL is not found.
    Is there any way I can get actual URL of web dynpro application? I have done plenty of reserach but could not resolve this. Please let me know if anyone has any information.
    Thanks.

    I am not Sure what is going wrong here . How can it be different url ? You may have to check THE sso configuration and the system defintion in the portal. How ever you cannot see the actual url in THE portal url.
    Is That Correct That your wda application with view1 is loding correctly but THE opening external window is not going good? In that case you can try to change THE generated url from cl_wd_utilities=>construct_wd_url  to https protocol.

  • How to configure SSO for web dynpro ABAP (not web dynpro Java)

    Hi Experts,
        I am testing SSO in IDES for web dynpro ABAP (Not for web dynpro Java / not for portal). When I am entering url of web dynpro application in web browser like internet explorer, then it should ask for user id and password first time, after login whenever user would access that url, it must not ask for user ID and password (url would be access web browser in mobile). For this I select to configure single sign-on for web dynpro ABAP. I have done below works:
    1). I have created a web dynpro application having url: http://susws076.sap.swk:<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zadb_hello_world2
    2). I run TCode SICF and access service node to "Zadb_hello_world2". Double click on it, hit change. pressed "logon data" tab, select "Alternative logon
         procedure"
       Then deleted all logon procedure other than "SSO Authentication" and saved.
    3). Go to "STRUST" and create certificate, choosed "Environment==> Logon Ticket" fill the required parameters and execute. It is OK (no red traffic
         signal).
    4). Execute TCode "RZ10" to change profile parameter, insert new parameter (indicated by red arrow)
    After all this settings I opened a browser enter above URL and hit enter but there is an error
    There is no login page. It directly showed this error page. No cookies is saving.
    Can anyone tell me what all the settings/configuration other than this I have to do. And is there any wrong setting done by me?
    How to set the for single sign-on?

  • Reading HTML Content using Web Dynpro ABAP

    Hello,
    I was wondering if it is possible to read the content (HTML) behind a given URL using Web Dynpro ABAP.  If so, are there any functions available to parse the HTML ?   I have been asked to develop an application that requires going to a URL, reading the content, and formatting a table from that content for presentaion within Web Dynpro ABAP.  The HTML of the URL is nothing more than a "Table of Contents" to existing documentation ( Word Documents )
    Thank you for any help / advice you can provide
    Larry

    You can get the HTML returned in a table using fm RSFO_HTML_REQUEST2.
    Once you have that, you can convert it to a string using any number of methods. CL_RSR_WWW_RENDERER=>TABLE_TO_STRING should work fine.
    One option for parsing it would be to get it converted into an iXML object, but you might have to do quite a bit of manipulation first depending on what the html looks like. You can see more info here on iXML classes: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/de/86/8280ba12d511d5991b00508b6b8b11/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/de/86/8280ba12d511d5991b00508b6b8b11/frameset.htm]
    Otherwise I would just make use of find statements with regex patterns to sort through the html.
