Encoding URs in Navigation Bar (static page)

Hi,
          I have run into a problem and I have no clue how to solve it.
          Hopefully, somebody would be able to help me out.
          I am using tomcat and jsp pages. My jsp page basically has a top bar,
          a navigation bar on the left hand side and a body part. If I disable
          cookies, then the web container doesnt recognize the session if one of
          the buttons in the navigation bar is clicked(after logging in).
          I guess I have to encode the urls in the navigation bar and not have
          hard coded urls there,so that the web container can recognize the
          sessions (url rewriting).
          How can I encode these urls in the navigation bar??????
          If I have a dynamic page, then one can write response.encodeURL(url);
          and it works perfectly, but I cannot do this in my navigation bar
          url´s as it is not a dynamic page.
          Can somebody please shed some light on this issue and help me out.
          Thanks!
          Sanjit

By any chance have you cleared your browser cache?

    You might try using Language_Switcher  Language Switcher while working on the English page.  That might allow you to create the navbar in English.
    Otherwise you could use a text based navbar like in this demo page: Text Based Navbar

  • Publish Navigation Bar Entries - page navigation issue

    I have created Navigation Bar entries in a master application and have created them in a secondary application using 'Copy and Subscribe'.
    I changed my entries in the master application and I wanted to republish them.
    Breadcrumb region is currently: Shared Components>Navigation Bar Entries>Edit
    Click on 'Publish NavBar' button and page navigates to "Confirm Publish Navigation Bar", breadcrumb changes to: Shared Components>Templates>Confirm Publish Template
    Click on 'Refresh All'.
    Page now navigates to the "Templates" page. Breadcrumb is Shared Components>Templates.
    I now have to navigate back to the Navigation Bar Entries section to publish my next entry.

  • "Reload current page/Stop loading current page" seems to be missing from Navigation Bar customization. How do I get it back?

    I am loading Firefox on a new computer, and I can't find the Navigation Bar button for "Reload current page/Stop loading current page". Is there any way to get it back as a choice under Navigation Bar customization or to create a new function? CTRL-R used to work for this function, but I'd like to have the button on the Navigation Bar.

    View Page Source has been moved to the "Web Developer" sub-menu. You can use any of the following to View Page Source:
    *CTRL+U
    *Right-click a blank area of the page and choose "View Page Source"
    *Firefox button > Web Developer > View Page Source
    *Using the Menu Bar: Tools > Web Developer > Page Source

  • Altering text on 'template' navigation bars

    Is there any way in iWeb 9 to alter the text - font, color, size - in the template navigation bars. I remember it wasn't possible in earlier versions.
    I know I can create my own navigation bar, but then there is no automatic process when building the separate pages (other than hand copying the navigation bar from page to page).
    All ears,
    Ben

    It can be done, but it means altering javascript code - how are you at doing that?
    Do a search of the site and there have been lots of questions relating to how to alter the page template nav bars over the past month - lots should come up and just have a look at the code that has been posted.
    You either do this or build your own text based nav bar. I know it is a little more fiddly but does not really take that long - I build my own all the time for both my sites and I don't find it time consuming - you can always just build one page and duplicate to save time.

  • I need two (2) navigation bars

    How do you create 2 (two) navigation bars on a page? I know
    you're supposed to have only one, but I need two.
    Or can I have one navigation bar distributing rollovers in
    two different places on the page, say one at the top and one at the
    bottom?
    Is there another solution?
    Thanks for help.

    > The problem is when, for the second navigation bar, I
    tried using the
    > Insert/Image Objects/Navigation Bar function, so that
    Dreamweaver
    creates the
    > behavior, I get a message saying that you can create
    only one
    navigation bar per page!
    Yep, that's because the built-in DW navigation behavior is a
    real
    clunker. It's one of the ones i mentioned that would make
    this hard.
    You have a few options. One is to start over using a better
    method.
    But then you lose all your nice menus.
    Another way, <here I am selling something!> is to
    remove the DW
    navigation behavior, but leave all the mouseover and mouseout
    behaviors
    in place, and then use my divavGPS DW Extension. It will work
    nicely
    with your mouseover image menus to highlight the current menu
    item, like
    the DW navigation menu behavior except it can work on any
    number of
    menus with a whole lot less code on the page. It also works
    fine even
    if these are on Template-based pages. < />

  • Creating a static page navigation frame, that only scrolls content?

    I need help, please.
    I am trying to create a new site. On each page,I want the top navigation bar and the bottom navigation bar (and in an ideal case scenario a left side bar)to be static. I never want the actual 'bars' to disappear when somebody scrolls the page. I only want the actual content (text w images etc.) to scroll. In other words: I would like there to be a static C frame of sorts - and only the "stuff" in the middle 'moves' or can get scrolled. (Sorry about my non-technical terms - but thats the only way I can best explain it).
    Can anybody tell me how I could create that effect with iWeb?
    Thanks a bunch already for any support.

    There are many way to do that. I have two ways of doing it, both are javascript:
    1) having nav bar and side bar move as you scroll on your page. example:
    http://hdl.50webs.com/Home/Welcome.html <-- right side text box moves as you scroll.
    <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://hdl.50webs.com/ScrollingNav/ScrollingNav.html <-- nav bar moves as you scroll.
    2) frame/frameset are not supported in iweb, but they can be built with javascript:
    http://hdl.50webs.com/CFrame/CFrame.html
    Question is how are you with javascript?

  • FF 5.0. Windows 7 The main navigation bar has suddenly started to bring up my igoogle page each time I enter a query. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?m happening.

    I suddenly started getting a black igoogle bar when attempting to use the navigation bar at the left side of the browser.
    I have added no add on to which I can attribute this.
    I started to eliminate the Igoole program at the site but became concerned when it appeared that I might also remove my gmail account, which I had earlier -and separately from Igoogle- created.
    I would like to prevent the google page from coming up when I use the left side of the navigation bar.

    This is something you need to report via the Feedback button (or use the link on the Help menu).
    Firefox 5.0 is still in BETA and not slated for release until June 21.

  • Why has the "Reload current page" control been moved to the navigation bar Firefox 29? I would like to be able to place it where I had it in Firefox 28.

    After getting the Firefox 29 download I tried to rearrange my buttons\controls to where I was used to having them in Firefox 28 and prior. I noticed, in particular, that the "Reload current page" control is no longer available to be set in front of the navigation bar where I've had it for years now. The reason I chose Firefox in the first place was because I could customize it to my liking. I know you can simply right click and "Reload" the tab or just get used to going to the end (right side) of the navigation bar but that defeats the purpose completely for me.
    Here's an analogy; Ford decides they will now replace current model cars in the US with British standard style vehicles. Every car sold by Ford will now be right-hand steer. While this may seem like a "no biggy" to some, others, especially those of us who are inclined to drive standard transmission vehicles, may be a bit resistant to that change. Not sure if I successfully made my point or not but hopefully I did.
    Initially I thought I'd start by "Has someone fallen and hit their head?' or "Did Steve Ballmer suddenly take over Mozilla, in particular the build of Firefox 29, because this one smells like a Windows 8 (aka the aroma of a full sewer tank on a hot day)?" It is understood that updates are required and as an IT guy, I've been around for many a faux pas where the kinks just need to be worked out. They happen. Maybe some consideration will be made with Firefox 30 to those of us in the states that are used to left-hand steer vehicles.
    I may be missing something here, and will gladly fall on my sword if that is the case, but there is no indication that I've seen from the Mozilla sight that the "Reload current page" control can be manipulated in any way as of Firefox 29. On the bright side, I now have a good reason to go back and review some of the browsers I discounted back in the day when I decided to go with Firefox.

    As far as I know, [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ the Classic Theme Restorer add-on] is the only way move the Reload button outside the address bar.
    # Install [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ Classic Theme Restorer] and restart Firefox when prompted.
    # Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A; Mac: Command+Shift+A), then the Extensions category.
    # Next to Classic Theme Restorer, click the Options button.
    # On the Main tab, make sure "Movable back-forward button" and "Hide urlbars stop & reload buttons" are checked. You might also want to check "Combine stop & reload buttons". Close the options window when done.
    # Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
    # Drag the Back/Forward, Stop and Reload buttons onto the navigation toolbar.
    # Click the Exit Customize button in the lower right corner when done.
    That being said, I should point out that you can reload pages in other ways.
    * Right-click any tab and choose Reload.
    * Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Reload.
    * Press F5.
    * Press Ctrl+R (Mac: Command+R).

  • How can I create a navigation bar in the template so I can change the down state of a button on a page made from the template in DW3?

    We're creating pages from a template in DW3. The template includes a header, footer and a navigation bar. We've made the navigation bar an editable region so that we can change the down state of the buttons on pages where it is required. However, when we make a new page from the template and try to change the behaviors of the buttons in the navigation bar it will not allow us to make those changes.

    Have you considered using CSS styled text/list menus instead of image rollovers.  It isn't hard really and it's actually a much better choice for   web accessibility and for search engines to find and follow your links.   Here are some links to several CSS menu systems you can try:

    I want to add page numbers to my navigationbar instead of the standard "first next previous last".
    For example I have a repeat region with a navigation bar (standard) I have 7 records per page and I would like it to say at the bottom:
    1 2 3 4 5 ect. Is there any way I can code this up with php or with dreamweaver or is there an other way to do this.

    You can do it in DW
    Add the below code
    <div class="pages">
    <ul>
    <li class="prev"><a href="#">&laquo; Previous</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">1</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">2</a></li>

    <li><a href="#">15</a></li>
    <li class="next"><a href="#">Next &raquo;</a></li>

    </div>
    style it as
    .pages{display:block; width:100%; text-align:center; clear:both; font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;}
    .pages ul{margin:0; padding:0; list-style:none;}

  • How do i make a navigation bar for all pages

    Hi friends !
    I want the same navigation bar to appear on all the web pages of my website. (As these are the common things that all the webpages will have). But I didn't find any option to use the navigation bar as a template.
    Will I have to copy and paste the same navigation bar on all the pages (let's say 50 to 60 pages, I will have). It will be very tiresome and tedious job to do.
    And also if I make even a minor change in the navigation bar then I will have to change it in all 50-60 pages.
    What should I do ?
    Please help me in this regard.
    Imagine a 100 or 200 page site, perfectly functioning and on the air. Then, one day, you need to add or delete some button, or simply change a link. You need to change the menubar in ALL 200 pages, and then re-publish them all. Quite a work, ah ?
    Regards,
    Jtechmiami

    Although Dreamweaver Templates and Library items are suitable tools for doing this, they're tedious and cumbersome at best. They get old very quickly.
    By far the most efficient method is to set your navigation bar up as a Server Side Include (SSI).
    SSIs are not Dreamweaver specific, they're a general web technology available on any server.
    A good primer here
    http://www.projectseven.com/products/menusystems/pmm2/ug-examples/includes/index.htm
    Do you already have a hosting account? Does it have PHP available?

    Not with SSIs. Simple sitewide menu updates take a few seconds.
    You edit a single text file locally (either button labels or a CSS rule for styling the button), upload (1-2 seconds) and every page on the site is instantly updated.
    Much better than DW Templates.
