Engine status and shutdown tag engine

I have an easy question... but it's not so easy that I can actually find documentation on it.
Is the tag engine status.vi considered a VI that accesses the tag engine?
I ask because the tag engine will not shutdown until all VI's that access the tag engine are shutdown. I would like a while loop checking the status of the tag engine to run until the tag engine is shutdown.

The 'Get Engine Status.VI' does not access the Engine. (You can check this and any such VI by dropping it on the diagram and running it. If the Engine is launched, the VI in question accesses the Engine.)
The 'Get Engine Status.VI' is meant for things like what you're trying to do. In fact, the HMI Wizard generates such a while-loop with this VI.

Regular expression to search if a word occurs with z and /z tags

I am trying to create a regex to search for the occurence of two words within <z> and </z> tags.(they must occur between <z> and and next immideate </z> tags)
This is my regex
<z>\s[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)word1[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)word2[\w\W]+?</z>|<z>\s[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)word2[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)word1[\w\W]+?</z>
I am trying to specify (?!</z>) in order that i insist that my regex engine does map for word1 and word2 within <z> and its next immideate </z> tags. The words can appear either ways word1 followed by word2 or vice versa.
The above regex does not work fine.
It maps fine for the following sentence
<z> This is test for pattern for a Regex </z> <z> Also we would like to conclude what is happening </z> <z> Another test for paragraph is happening </z>
The regex is as follows
<z>\s[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)pattern[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)Regex[\w\W]+?</z>|<z>\s[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)Regex[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)pattern[\w\W]+?</z>
But, when i include the </z> in between pattern and Regex , it should not match, but that is not what is happening.

I have been trying to replace the regex to do the same between two sentences, here in my case I have a paragraph with multiple sentences. The delimiter to determine a sentence is dot (.). So i am trying to specify the condition as above to match between two sentences - using representation for dot as (\. )
The following is my regex
(?=(?:(?!\.).)+?\bpattern\b.+\.)(?!(?:(?!\.).)+?\bscientific\b.+\.)((\bpattern\b(?:(?!\.).)+)\bpattern\b|\bpattern\b) But this does not work..

[LV FPGA] BuildSpecVersion/ and BuildSpecDescription/ tags left empty in lvbitx

Using LV 13.0.1 (french) and LV FPGA 13.0.1, documentation tags <BuildSpecVersion/> and <BuildSpecDescription/> tags left empty in the generated lvbitx

Yet another dzen2 bar, icon and clickable tags for DWM

I just switched to dwm and it's really awsome so I customized it a bit: A script to display dzen2 on top of dwm status bar which show:
tags
icons
and these tags are really clickable,
and even highlight the active tags.
It's quite simple though and lots of people would do better works but I really like it and wanna share it here.

Usage:
Download script from here:

Make a directory dwm resouces eg: ~/.dwm
Download XBM ICON PACK from here:

and extract it to a directory inside the above directory, eg: ~/.dwm/xbm8x8/
Customize the script if needed (Tags name, icon prefix, color...)
Run setup command, eg:

Startup and shutdown sequence in RAC on Linux

I am trying to understand the start-up and shutdown sequence in 11g R2 RAC on Linux(OEL5.8).
can you please share me docs or sequence.

Stopping RAC2 Instance :

1. Shutdown the Instance running on RAC2
2. ./srvctl stop asm -n csbppmaadbs02
3. ./srvctl stop nodeapps -n csbppmaadbs02
4. ./srvctl stop listener -n csbppmaadbs02
5. Check "./crs_stat -t"
Note 1 : Check the following also for healthy status & If any service of RAC that also we have to check.
6./crsctl check crs
CSS appears healthy
CRS appears healthy
EVM appears healthy
Starting RAC2 Instance

1 ./srvctl start nodeapps -n csbppmaadbs02
2 ./crs_stat -t

Executing behaviour/classes at AppServer start-up and shutdown

Hello,
Using NetWeaver 6.4 SP16/17.
We have some processing which we need to carry out before one of our applications starts consuming messages from a JMS queue (to set any unfinished processes to a failed state)
We also have some processing which we would like to carry out after the last transaction has been completed when the server is gracefully shutdown, to update the status of some processes.
In WebLogic and other J2EE containers we know of start-up/shutdown classes which allow us to do this processing. However I have been unable to find equivalent functionality in NetWeaver.
My question is what ways are there to do this in NetWeaver, if any?
(I have seen such behaviour hinted at in:
/people/community.user/blog/2006/10/24/applications-and-shared-libraries
"One additional feature of application services are the start-up and shutdown classes."

Can you please clarify if you are looking for APIs regarding Application startup/shutdown or Application Server startup/shutdown.
For the later, please correct me if I am wrong, the logging API can be used. To access that, you can check out Java Development. A fair bit of dicussion has already taken place on Logging and Tracing API.
Please let me know if this is not what you are looking for.

Radio Interface Reset and Shutdown Frequently

As recently new office from end-Sept, we have found that the radio interface reset very frequently which has been happening about over 15 times within 8 weeks for one AP on average. Some of those (3 AP so far) got the radio interface down eventually and we need to reload the AP to make it up again.

Scenario:
The new office gets 2 floors. One is 5/F which has installed 9 APs with different channels and another one is 6/F which has installed 6 APs with different channels as well. We found that there are many events “%DOT11-4-MAXRETRIES: Packet to client reached max retries, removing the client” logged on 5/F and 6/F AP.
We also found that the radio interface reset very frequently which has been happening about over 15 times within 8 weeks for one AP on average. Some of those (3 AP so far) got the radio interface down eventually and we need to reload the AP to make it up again.
Is/ are there any possibility caused by otherenvironmental factors? Please advise.

Using launchd to send an email on startup and shutdown

Hello All !
I'd like to get an email whenever my Mac starts up and shuts down, since I have to leave it unattended for quite some long periods of time (and even with the help of a UPS, power goes out anyway...). My Mac runs under Mac OS X Lion.
I found some help on the Internet, mainly from this page : http://www.syntaxtechnology.com/2009/06/email-on-shutdown-and-restart/ , which applies to Linux, and hoped it could work on Mac OS X (I thought at first I could just drop a script in something like /etc/init.d/ or /etc/rc.d/rc5.d but well... we have launchd instead...).
The first method listed in the page above worked well, but sends an email only on startup (for a reminder: you add a line that starts with @reboot in your crontab, and a command that sends directly an email).
I then tried to adapt the second method to Mac OS X, and succeeded partially: I wrote a small script based on what was shown on that page (a start and stop function, start gets called when the script is started, and stop gets called based on a trap on various kill signals, with an infinite wait loop: see below). I also wrote the plist file, loaded it in launchd and rebooted my Mac several times to test everything.
I get an email on each startup (yeah!), but the shutdown mail gets sent only at the next startup. So I guess that postfix gets killed by the shutdown process *before* being able to send my shutdown email :-(
So here are my main questions, if someone can help me:
1. is there a way to precisely call a script during the shutdown process, meaning giving it a priority so it gets called before postfix dies ? (like the rc directories and the naming conventions (KnnScriptName and SnnScriptName) found on some Linux/Unix).
2. is it possible to do that with launchd ? if not, what would be the Mac OS X sanctionned way of doing this ?

3. my shell script writing ability is kind of rusty, so maybe I made some "very bad shell writingTM": l'm not sure putting an infinite while loop with a 15 second pause in it is the best way of telling a script to do nothing. There might other things in there that would make an Unix guru jump out of his chair: please tell me :-)

Thanks a lot for your answer, Camelot, even if it sorts of confirm what I suspected. Pinging a machine from an external observer is a solution, but it will also report broken links problems and not only a computer shutting down, and it raises the next tier of problems, general network reliability after individual system reliability. It's something I'll have to look at for sure.
It's weird there isn't any way to access the way the shutdown process works.
One of the commenters (#14) on the page from Syntaxtechnology had a similar problem: he added a "sendmail -q" in his script to force sendmail to go to work and service the queue before shutting down, which I can try, but he also added a delay to the stop process of sendmail, which is something I'm not sure I can do on Mac OS X (and that might disappear one day with one of the OS updates).
Unless there is a way to change the launchd.plist file for postfix and add an ExitTimeOut option in it (I found this idea here : https://discussions.apple.com/message/17229690#17229690 )

I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them. Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view. I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes. My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.

How to get system status and user status of service order

I want to show user status and system status for service order in my report and i am using CRM_ORDER_READ function module to read the status, but it is returning lot of status records, could anyone please suggest how to get the system status and user status for service order.
I did not find any clue for how to get user status, i can see the user status when i open the transaction using CRMD_ORDER.

Go to CRM_JEST table give your service order guid and get the status, pass this status into TJ02. You will get the status of your order.

Matching opening and closing tags in MXML

Is possible to match the opening and closing tag in MXML with Flash Builder 4.x?
In AS3 you can see the curly braces highlighted and you can type Ctrl+Shift+P to jump from one bracket to the other.
In DreamWeaver you can see the hierarchy for every HTML element, and you can click any HTML element to highlight the block inside.
I can see only icons with - and + for contract or expand the MXML blocks, but they are working wrong !

If you click the element in Outline view, it should highlight the entire tag for you. Is it not doing this in FB 4?

10.6.1 Slow Startup and Shutdown

Did anyone notice the difference between the 10.6.1 startup and shutdown times and the 10.6 times ?
I had to do a clean install of 10.6 and ignore the 10.6.1 update to get back speed in startup and shutdown.

I had the same problems, and I figured out the cause. It seems that somehow the ownership of my root directory (/) wasn't assigned to the root account anymore, but to myself instead. This made the kernel prelinking fail since it requires that root is the owner. This is how you solve this after launching the Terminal app:

sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel
sudo kextcache -system-caches{quote}
You'll have to enter your password after the first command.
Hope this helps someone, since it was really frustrating to have these slower startup/shutdown times for me.

You can force quit applications

if that does not work you can force quit a computer shut down by hold the power button for an extended period.
