Enter query form trigger from MENU

Hi .
I am using Oracle Developer 9i , I have coded KEY-ENTQRY for some validation.
I have created MENU using Menu builder . On Enter query Menu I have Coded normal 'ENTER_QUERY' code. When I run the form, form is not calling my KEY-ENTQRY code. How can I perform this task.
Thanx

Have you used do_key on the enter query menu?
Use do_key(''ENTER_QUERY') and it should work.
Please mark answer as helpful / correct, if it helps you

  • Applicaiton form hangs when trying to make C# form visible from menu event

    I have a MDI windows app, running as an addon on Verion 2007A
    The applicaion is written in C# ( VS 2005)
    I am a newbee to C# ( VS too ) as well.
    All I want is to display the MDI container form when a menu is clicked. But the windows form hangs forever, and does not show.
    if I try to show the form within Main method then no issues! The problem happens only off the SBO menu event .
    I cannot have the form loaded all the time. so I need the services of the SBO menu click, so a user can open it whenever he wants.
    Note: I can open any other form off the menu click, but that , provided they are not MDI containers and they are opened with ShowDialog(); If I use Show(); then again hangs.
    I tried opening the MDI form in Main method, ( wich of course works) and hide it when not needed. I could hide the form, but when I issued a command myForm.visible = true;  through the SBO menu event, again hangs!
    my applicaion Main function is as follows. The class AA_SBO_MAIN  holds the SBO application events.
    static void Main()
                Application.EnableVisualStyles();
                Application.SetCompatibleTextRenderingDefault(false);
                Classes.AA_SBO_MAIN oSBOMain = null;
                oSBOMain = new Classes.AA_SBO_MAIN();
                 Application.Run();
    the menu event simply does
                  frmMain fm = new frmMain();
                  fm.Visible = true;

    Hi
    I try doing these few steps and it seems to work!  The code is in Visual Basic though!
    Declare the form variable
    Private mMDI As New frmMDI
    In your menu click event enter a code like this
    If mMDI Is Nothing Then mMDI = New frmMDI
    mMDI.Visible = True
    On your startup function do something like this
    Public Sub New()
           mMDI.Show() : mMDI.Visible = False
    End Sub
    And more important ... in the form class comment all the code inside the Dispose method
    and finally do the following
    Private Sub frmMDI_Closed(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Closed
            Me.Hide()
    End Sub
    it seems to work for me . Hope it helps you too!

  • Invoking procedure from menu module

    How can I invoke procedure that is part of Form module from menu module which is attached to it.
    When I reference it with:
    procedure_name;
    I receive:
    Error 201
    Identifier procedure_name must be declared.

    It can be done by calling user-named trigger from menu:

  • Pass parameters between forms using a menu

    I use a menu to switch forms. However, I have problems to pass paramenters between the froms.
    Any suggestions ? Thanks.

    There are 2 means:
    1. The most simple to code is to use global vars. Still, you may get into some trouble managing them (erasing them when you no longer need them).
    2. Use parameter lists. RTM about that. It's a bit complicated, but feisable, allowing to pass params whe using open_form or run_product (run_report).
    One more thing: when referencing forms items from menu code you have to use name_in(), and for assigning values to form-items using menu code you have to use copy().

  • Form trigger - fire in enter query mode

    Hello,
    Could someone help me with the following problem, please?
    I want to create an key-exeqry and I want it to execute in enter-query mode. Unfortunatly Designer set's the property 'fire in enter query mode' for the trigger to 'No'. I can't find any setting to set it to 'Yes'. Does someone knows a setting or a work-around?
    I'm working with designer6/headstart6.
    Thanks in advance,
    Martine.

    Sandra,
    I tried to put the key-exeqry in the template. There's only one problem the key-exeqry is a 'in place of' trigger. When I put the code 'Null;' in the trigger, a generated form without a key-exeqry doesn't work because the 'key execute query' does nothing. A generated form with a key-execute query works fine.
    At the other hand, when I put the code 'Execute_query' in the trigger, a generated form without a key-exeqry works fine, but the other one doesn't.
    Which code should I include in the template-trigger?
    Thanks,
    Martine.

  • Forms that start in enter query mode freeze on exit

    When a headstart form is called from
    a menu and the first thing it does if go into
    enter query mode the form will not exit properly, causing the orginal form to hang.
    Is there any work around for this apart from taking enter_query out of the when_new_form_instance trigger ?

    We have a similar problem with a Headstart generated application. We are unable to pinpoint it entirely to forms that start in enter query mode as:
    a) forms that don't start in enter query mode also hang; and
    b) not all forms that start in enter query mode do hang.
    The problem doesn't seem to affect a form consistently, as one day it will hang on the first use, the next it will work for several hours.
    When a new form is selected from the menu the toolbar is not shown, the 'start' form disappears and the application hangs. It is then necessary to close the application using Task Manager.
    The good news is that this only seems to happen in our development environment (Windows NT 4) and not in our live environment (Hydra).
    We are working with Headstart v2.1.2.0.1,
    Designer v2.1.24.1.0 and Forms v5.0.6.11.0.

  • Enter Requisition Form Query - Help Needed

    Hi Forum,
    I have a requirement to modify the lov for the Category field in the Enter Requisition form and add a new field.
    The item is in the block :LINES.ITEM_CATEGORY.
    So, I ftp'd the form and libraries onto my local drive which is in the FORMS60_PATH. When I open the form, it opens without any error. But it does not attach any libraries in it ?
    Anyway, I looked at the form item and its a Text Item with a Lov 'ENABLE_LIST_LAMP' and a record Group with the same name. But this is a dummy record group.
    Where is the Actual Query for this Record Group built ? I assume it is in some library, but how do i find which library ?
    I cannot see anything in the WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE or any other trigger having the query.
    The Category is a KFF actually.
    Thanks
    S.
    Edited by: user565538 on Mar 25, 2009 6:12 AM

    one more thing i notice is I can see in the KFF definition , the Value set = PO_ITEM_CATEGORY
    But when I try to query for this Value set (of type independent) , in System Adminsitrator, no value set is being returned !
    Am i missing something ? where are the values coming from ?

  • FRM-41361 Cannot navigate out of current form in Enter-Query Mode

    Hi All,
    I am getting the FRM-41361 error in the bottom message area when opening a form from the function navigator. The issue does not exist when opening the form from the application homepage. The form is loaded in enter-query mode, and the enter_query command is in the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger. I have checked all triggers that fire after this point for any type of navigation but do not see any. The interesting thing is, if I put a fnd_message.set_string and fnd_message.show just before the enter_query call to debug, the issue goes away entirely.
    Is it possible there are security triggers firing after the form is loaded into enter-query mode that could be causing this and that the fnd_message calls are indeed buying time for those triggers to complete before the enter_query call?
    Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks!
    Dan

    Yes, when I looked through the triggers I made sure to look for go_block and go_item calls as well as any calls to leave the form.

  • How to display LOV on web in ENTER-QUERY mode with form or block query only.

    Hello all
    How can I display lov automatic on the web in from enter-query
    mode in form or block query only mode.
    thankx

    If I understand correctly your explanation, your called form
    fails to activate the LOV in enter-query mode when it is deployed
    and test on the browser.
    So lets proceeed like this, to make it work in all environments,
    let us programetically activate the LOV.
    HOW?
    In the called form, write in the WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE TRIGGER
    at block level (if have more than one LOV)
    IF :SYSTEM.MODE = 'ENTER-QUERY' THEN
    IF get_item_property(:system.cursor_item,lov_name) IN ('YOUR
    LOV1', 'LOV2' etc) THEN
    IF SHOW_LOV(get_item_property(:system.cursor_item,lov_name))
    THEN
    NULL;
    END IF;
    END IF;
    END IF;
    The above code maybe tweak to suite your need and condition.
    This way, we explicitly make the LOV appear in ENTER-QUERY mode
    whenever the user clicks on an item with an attached LOV.
    Hope this helps.

  • Calling form in Enter-Query mode

    Hi
    how can i Have a form called from the menu (generated with
    headstart) start in Enter-Query mode ?
    Is there any method to do this easily ??
    TIA

    Olivier,
    Look in the Headstart Template Package users guide. In the
    Runtime Behaviors chpt, under Inter-Form Navigation, Named Passed
    Values and Argument Passed Values, you will find an explanation
    of how to start a form in Enter-Query mode.

  • FRM:41361 Cannot navigate out of form in 'Enter Query Mode'

    Hi,
    I am using a master - detail block in my form.When I query the master block I am getting this error message
    FRM:41361 Cannot navigate out of form in 'Enter Query Mode'
    I have given DO_KEY('ENTER-QUERY') in WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger of master block.
    and in property palette of Master block I have given the next navigation block as Detail block.
    According to the value which is queried in Master Block the Detail block should be populated.
    My form should open in 'Enter Query Mode'.This problem always happens from second time onwards
    I open the form.When I open the form first time this problem is not occuring.
    Can anyone suggest a solution for this
    Thanks,
    Nasiya

    Have you written a Key-EntQuery trigger at the Master block or the form level,
    If yes, then can you put that code here.
    The NEXT-NAVIGATION-BLOCK is only used for navigation when you use a next-block built-in on a key-trigger.
    Have you written a ENTER-QUERY command on any trigger that fires prior to the said WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger?
    If yes, then thats the reason that the first time you run the form, your form is in ENTER-QUERY mode.
    Also, maybe execute on enter-query fails and hence the blocks are not getting populated.
    Also, ENTER-QUERY is always on a single block. And while the block is in enter-query mode, navigation out of that block is prohibited.
    you have to either have a successful EXECUTE-QUERY or use:
    EXIT_FORM(NO_VALIDATE) to come out of ENTER-QUERY mode.

  • Start form in ENTER-QUERY HST6i DES6i

    Does any-one know this problem?
    We want to start an generated form Called by the menu or by an other form in ENTER-QUERY. We have tried to use the named passes values but that didn't have any effect. What are we doing wrong?
    null

    Theo et al.
    First, although you can enter NPV's and APV's against a module network link between a menu and form module, it will not be picked up by the generator. See the Headstart User Guide (and the example in the Headstart Demo application) for instructions on how to implement this very example (launching a form in ENTER QUERY mode from the menu).
    Between forms, the NPV should be picked up correctly, as the Inter Form Navigation screen in the Headstart Demo application will demonstrate. In both cases it will therefore not be necessary to create the CG$STARTUP_MODE parameter manually.
    A couple of general remarks concerning the use of NPV/APV: most values are case sensitive, and more often than you'ld think you are required to generate both the calling and the called form for the functionality to be implemented correctly.
    Kind regards,
    Peter Ebell

  • Calling report from form and after parameter form trigger

    Hi, I've also posted to this to the reports forum but because it works from Reports Builder it may be a forms issue which is why I'm x-posting. Apologies.
    I have a report that creates a file, desname is set in the after parameter form trigger (it uses one of the parameter values).
    The problem is file is not created using the path and filename set in the trigger, the file is created in the bin folder with the name account_by_service_type.txt (account_by_service_type.rdf is the report definition).
    If the desname is set in the before parameter form AND a field with the source=desname is added to the parameter form then the file will be created with the correct path and name however it won't have the relevant parameter incorporated into the file name obviously.
    I've noticed in other reports that where the desname is being set in the after parameter form that I've had to pass the desname from the form but obviously I cannot do that here either.
    Am I missing something obvious?

  • How can I filter a table from Data Control without enter query

    I have a table from a web service data control based on WSDL.
    I want to filter the table without input query at filter text box. Without filter text box, each would filter the table with a hardcoded query internally.
    For example, when user click A menu button then it filters the table where type = '1' and B menu button filters the table by type='2' and C menu button filters the table by type=' ' .
    How can I filter the table without enter query?
    Could anyone point me to a solution please.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    when you created the table, did you try selecting the "filter" option. Select the table and go to the Property Inspctor. In the tool bar of the Property Inspector there is an icon to change the configuration. Its adding filter filter fields for the user to search in.
    Option 2: The data of the Web Service actually is held in the iterators. If you wanted to filter the WebService query, I would not use the WS DC but a JAX-WS proxy in a POJO to fetch the WS Data. Then have the Data Control created from the POJO. You could have a method exposed on the POJO that allows you to filter the internally held data
