Enter single receipt to multiple legal entities / operating units

Dear All,
My customer having a business requirement where customer is clubbing the payment for two separate organizations and sending them as one check (single receipt). However they are entering separate invoices for each organization. That mean they do not clubbing invoices in multiple organization but they are accepting checks for both organization and issuing one receipt to the customer. How can i handle this scenario in oracle EBS R12. Is it possible for me to handle this through inter company functionality in oracle.
Organization set up :These two companies have have separate ledgers , legal entities under same business unit.

Hi Vikash
Legal Entity can have many establishments, like warehouse, showrooms, distribution hub spread across a country.
Each Establishment may be in different states/counties with the same federal country.
So in case of India, it can be in Arunachal Pradesh, Gujrat and Karnataka.
Each of them may be subject to Municpal tax or local State taxes.
Oracle would need to identify that operating units/ inventory organization doing transactions is associated with which Establishement ( under this legal entity ).
And it will calculate the local and state taxes accordingly.
In nutshell this setup is for tax. So go by what Tarun has said.
Thanks

  • Multiple legal entities in one Request Set

    Hi, I have a question that hopefully someone can help with. It will make life so much easier here!
    In our environment on 11.5.9, we have multiple legal entities each a separate set of books.
    We're trying to create a request set to run multiple financial reports at once for multiple legal entities. Since a responsibility is tied to one set of books, we can't find a way to run the request set under a responsibility where it will work for all. Today we switch hats and run separately for each. Is there a workaround here to get this to work?
    Thanks in advance!
    Kevin

    Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this Kevin in 11i version of the application ....
    In R12 version of the application, a new feature called Ledger Set is introduced, in which you can club more than one ledgers and can execute FSG reports for multiple ledgers within a single responsibility ....

  • Multiple legal entities one company code

    Dear Gurus,
    We are currently in detail design of an ERP system using SAP 6.0.   We have multiple legal entities and we are trying to determine if each legal entity should also be a company code in SAP. Has anyone setup SAP using a Company Code that was not a legal entity? For example multiple legal entities as one company code or one legal entity as multiple company codes. What are the pros and cons?
    Thank you.

    multiple legal entities as one company code is POSSIBLE.
    one legal entity as multiple company codes is NOT possible.
    However, there may be different criteria to create a company code. The best criteria is if your entity is in different country and need to present your books of accounts to stakeholders, the go with a separate company code.
    If you have multiple legal entities, which are in the same country and there is no issue if you present the books of accounts of all those legal entites in a single set of accounts, then go with a single company code, this would be easier and less maintenance costs in the future.
    If there is no legal requirement to create each legal entity as a separate company code, then avoid it.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Single Receipt for multiple Customers

    We have a scenatio where there a multiple customer codes for different locations of the same customer. Say customer codes A B and C. A single receipt is received from the central processing location i.e. A and it contains invoices raised on all locations A B and C
    Entry cannot be passed through F-28 to enter and clear the open invoices.
    Is there a solution to this situation
    regards

    Hi,
    Through F-28 you can do multiple customer receipts with single receipt.  In the first screen of F-28, you have to give total amount received in the amount column then give first customer code then go to process open items select the open item, then choose process open items again it will ask for new customer code then give second customer code and process open items select open items in second customer this way you can process single receipt for multiple customers.

  • Single PR for multiple Sub Con Operations

    Hi Experts,
    Are we able to generate a single PR with multiple line items for all the PP Sub Out operations in an order  (via config or user exits ?)
    This is because the order has a number of Sub Out operations so there arises a need to release all these PRs
    Regards
    JMG

    Hi JMG,
    You can set this in customising.
    Go to the order type dependent parameters (Tcode OPL8).
    For select your combination of plant/order type.
    In the planning tab, towards the bottom of that screen there is a block called Purchase requisition.
    Activate the "collective PR" check box to have one PR.
    Hope it helps.

  • Can Legal Entity - Operating Unit have One to One Relationship in R12

    Hi,
    I want to configure one Legal Entity to one Operating Unit in R12 as it was in 11i. ie One to One Relationship, How can I achieve this ?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Thejas

    That is because you're not setting it, obviously. Nowhere in your code are you actually populating the order property of the orderlines.

  • Multiple POs Receipt against a single Receipt as per Supplier Invoice

    Dear All,
    We were using the ERS (Autoinvoice) for suppliers.
    We have a special scenario:
    We send PO to Supplier. and the Supplier send the Goods for Multiple POs in a Single Supplier Invoice.
    The Issue is:
    Can we receive all the Supplier Invoice items (belonging to different POs) in a single receipt. So that we can generate one invoice through ERS, which can be matched against the Supplier invoice.
    Is this possible? If Yes, How can we accomplish this..?
    Please update....
    Many thanks in advance....

    Hi Jeyakanthan,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I have gone thru the "Multiple Goods Receipts for a Single Excise Invoice " in Sap Help Documentation, what I have understood is that we can do multiple Goods Receipt against a Single Invoice. Here in this case we do the Goods Receipt against Purchase Order , do the Invoice Capture for first goods receipt againts Purchase Order and we enter the Invoice Number (say 745, sent by the Vendor) while capturing excise invoice. When the second shipment (against the same PO) comes, we do goods receipt and we refer the "Only Refer Excise Invoice" while doing the goods receipt. Finally after when we have entered all the shipments for the PO, we do the Excise Posting.
    Here in our case we have already posted the Goods Receipt (without entering the Invoice Number in first goods receipt) and now we want to capture & post excise invoice for a Single Excise Invoice (Invoice No. say 745,).
    Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.
    Here we have got two options:
    a. Reverse all the goods receipt & re-enter the goods receipt .
    b. post two separate excise invoice against each goods receipt mentioning dummy excise invoice number like 745-A & 745-B.
    Option a seems difficulty as we will have to reverse all the subsequent goods receipt & transfer posting documents.
    Option b seems legally wrong, as per understanding.
    Request you to please advise.

  • Single concurrent program for multiple operating units

    HI
    I am working on XML/BI publisher to generate AR invoice reports.
    We have single rdf report using which rtf templates are generated.
    There are 10 operating units (10 ORG_ID's) and 10 rtf templates, one for each operating unit. There are 4 different responsibilities for each ORG_ID
    Eg: ORG_ID's = 11, 12, 13, 14..........etc
    Eg: Responsibility = xx, yy, zz...........etc
    I want to register a single concurrent program. When a user submits a request from "XX" responsibility, then the template associated with that org_id should be generated. Whichever responsibility the user is accessing from, that particular template must be shown as output.
    How can i register one concurrent program for multiple operating units.
    Thanks!

    interesting case for 10 OE set 10 template
    what is purpose? for each OE different requirements for layout?
    BTW
    if each Responsibility associated with one org_id then
    - you can get current org_id when you run concurrent program
    - create main template (will be #11) with condition like
    <?choose:?>
    <?when: ORG_ID=11?>
    <?import:xdo://FND.XX11_SUB.en.00/?>
    <?call:TEMPLATE11?>
    <?end when?>
    <?when: ORG_ID=12?>
    <?import:xdo://FND.XX12_SUB.en.00/?>
    <?call:TEMPLATE12?>
    <?end when?>
    <?otherwise:?>
    <?import:xdo://FND.XX21_SUB.en.00/?>
    <?call:TEMPLATE21?>
    <?end otherwise?>
    <?end choose?>so based on org_id will be import of needed subtemplate
    - re-register your "10 rtf templates" as subtemplates
    another way is substitution of template for concurrent then it running
    in before_report trigger set needed template
    l_conc_request_id := fnd_global.conc_request_id;
        if ORG_ID = 11 then
          UPDATE fnd_conc_pp_actions t
             SET t.argument2 = 'XX11'
           where t.concurrent_request_id = l_conc_request_id
             and t.action_type = 6;
      if ORG_ID = 21 then
          UPDATE fnd_conc_pp_actions t
             SET t.argument2 = 'XX21'
           where t.concurrent_request_id = l_conc_request_id
             and t.action_type = 6;

  • Multiple pre-orders on a single receipt?

    First time that I've pre-ordered multiple games at the same time.  I thought the cashier would ring them seperately, since they are for different systems and different release dates.  Instead, they were all rung on a single receipt in a single transaction.  Is this OK?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hey again jeremygary,
    It's absolutely okay for multiple pre-orders to be on the same receipt, even if they're for different titles and consoles with different release dates. When you pick up each title, the staff at your local store will simply need to select the correct pre-order deposit during checkout.

  • Pay Operating Units from different Legal Entities?

    Pay Operating Units from different Legal Entities?
    Hi there,
    This is the current scenario:
    Legal Entity A has Operating Unit A
    Legal Entity B has Operating Unit B.
    In R12 Payables, can payments be setup so that in the payments manager of Operating Unit A (LE A), payments can be made for Operating Unit B (LE B)?
    i.e. Can an operating unit from one legal entity make payments from an operating unit from another legal entity?
    The bank account is setup in LE A, but when we create a payment process request with invoices from different OUs of different LEs, then only invoices from the LE in which the bank is setup are selected for payment.

    1.OU's are not mapped to LE directly (at least for Payables). The OU LE relationship is derived via the ledgers. So if Ledger A is attached to OU A and Ledger A is attached to LE1 and LE2. I guess what I am saying should be possible.
    2.If I understand correctly the new functionality that you are refering to is for the Payment Process Request (PPR, payment batches in 11i). This feature is more wrt MOAC changes that were done and not Cross OU payments.
    What it allows you is to select invoices from different LE,different OU's, different Currencies and different pay groups. It does not allow you to have Invoice in OU1 and payment for that invoice in OU2.
    Thanks

  • FUTURE VERSIONS Legal Entity / Cross Operating Unit Direction

    Hello,
    I am aware that the Multi-Org Team is in the process of redesigning MO to allow a lot more Cross-Operating Unit (built into Legal Entity?) functionality over the next 18 months to allow users to work in a responsibility but across Operating Units. e.g. allow cross-Operating Unit Receipts in AR.
    Is there a Statement of Direction for new MO work or some initial analysis I could get hold of that would assist us in planning our roadmap for the next few years? Dates are less important than direction / functionality of what will be available. I'm aware this may not be available for public distribution but we'll truly appreciate all help.
    We are one of the larger European sites, currently running 57 books on R11i single-instance (GL, AP, AR, FA, PO, SSP5). We have upgraded to 11i and EFCed last year. We are now in the process of strategic planning for a complete restructure of our Financials system to match a new legal and operating structure. We are looking ahead 2-3 years down the track here.
    If there's someone in Oracle (or elsewhere) I can speak to get this information, I know SAS will be quite happy to do this - also we are quite aware that the information implies no commitments from Oracle.

    Shaan- the Org Hierarchy is where I can't see the connection: Legal Entities in the org hierarchy are HR organizations, but Legal Entities used in Intercompany Billing setup (e.g. Provider/Receiver Controls page) are GL Legal Entities setup in Accounting Setup Manager. Do you know how does the system connect HR LEs to GL LEs?

  • What is a Legal Entity and Operating Unit??

    Hi,
    Could someone let me know what exactly is a Legal Entity and Operating Unit. The definition or explanation in the documentation is not satisfactory or clear. What are the differences between the above.
    And where in the per_all_assignments_f table is the Legal entity stored. I know that the Legal entity is stored in the Statutory information in the assignments screen. Also can someone let me how based on the company code in the organization the legal entity is linked. Where in the tables is this link maintained?
    Could someone let me know the above.
    Thanks
    Shekar.

    Dear Shekar
    what exactly is a Legal Entity and Operating Unit?
    ANS: According the Book or user guide definitions says:
    GRE/Legal Entity: Use this classification to represent the following organizations:
    Ultimate Legal Entity: this represents the enterprise, and typically, the enterprise is the highest (global) level of a business organization.
    Legal Entity: this represents the designated legal employer for all employment-related activities. The legal authorities in a country recognize this organization as a separate employer. In an organization hierarchy, a legal entity may report to an operating company or to the ultimate legal entity.
    Consolidated Legal Entity: this organization acts on behalf of multiple operating companies that are not legally registered, or simply on behalf of the enterprise in a country.
    See Shekar the Legal Entity is taken under Classification is we know that the organization is going to show the Taxation to the Government. where as if u take typical UAE countruies here every store is an LLC and they submit the taxing for every store or shop.
    Where as Operating Unit is generally used for the different lines of business which are under that Business GRoup
    Say for an Example:
    ABC is the Company name and that has its root in UAE, Qatar and Oman
    then it is like ABC Business Group > UAE Legal Entity > REtail/Property/Furniture etc are the Operating Units.
    Hope this information is helpful and clear to you or else let me know if you have any concerns.
    Coming to the Company Code we use the code for the Inventory Organizations so that the clients will not get confused with the existing code and the system code so generally we use the same codes for it.
