Can Legal Entity - Operating Unit have One to One Relationship in R12

Hi,
I want to configure one Legal Entity to one Operating Unit in R12 as it was in 11i. ie One to One Relationship, How can I achieve this ?
Thanks in Advance,
Thejas

That is because you're not setting it, obviously. Nowhere in your code are you actually populating the order property of the orderlines.

Can Two Operating units share one Inventory Org in Oracle 11i?
We have business scenario where we need to create multiple Operating unit but both of them uses a single Inventory Org.
Is this possible in Oracle 11i?

Thank You Pranit for your response.
Can you please let me know the reason also?
We are having only one master inventory Org.

Your iMac does have wireless capability. It does need, however, some wireless network in order to connect to the Internet. It sounds like there are several networks in your area, including one Belkin router that is not encrypted and several other networks that are. I presume that you would know if the Belkin one is yours, and you would have mentioned it. Do not use someone else's network without their permission. In some jurisdictions it is illegal, in others it is merely foolish.
It is impossible to know what Xfinity has given you. Possibly it is only a cable modem, or perhaps it has a router built in. Call them and ask them. If it has a router built in, get them to help you set it up. Note that some tech support people for Internet service providers will resist working with Macs. Be persistent, it is not that different.
If they did not provide a router, you will need to get one. Apple makes the AirPort Extreme base station, the AirPort Express base station and the Time Capsule. Other companies have their own. Be sure you get one that is up to date and has 802.11n capabilities (for the highest speed) and go on from there.
    Best of luck.

  • Enter single receipt to multiple legal entities / operating units

    Dear All,
My customer having a business requirement where customer is clubbing the payment for two separate organizations and sending them as one check (single receipt). However they are entering separate invoices for each organization. That mean they do not clubbing invoices in multiple organization but they are accepting checks for both organization and issuing one receipt to the customer. How can i handle this scenario in oracle EBS R12. Is it possible for me to handle this through inter company functionality in oracle.
Organization set up :These two companies have have separate ledgers , legal entities under same business unit.

    Hi Vikash
Legal Entity can have many establishments, like warehouse, showrooms, distribution hub spread across a country.
Each Establishment may be in different states/counties with the same federal country.
So in case of India, it can be in Arunachal Pradesh, Gujrat and Karnataka.
Each of them may be subject to Municpal tax or local State taxes.
Oracle would need to identify that operating units/ inventory organization doing transactions is associated with which Establishement ( under this legal entity ).
And it will calculate the local and state taxes accordingly.
In nutshell this setup is for tax. So go by what Tarun has said.

  • Pay Operating Units from different Legal Entities?

Pay Operating Units from different Legal Entities?
    Hi there,
    This is the current scenario:
Legal Entity A has Operating Unit A
Legal Entity B has Operating Unit B.
In R12 Payables, can payments be setup so that in the payments manager of Operating Unit A (LE A), payments can be made for Operating Unit B (LE B)?
i.e. Can an operating unit from one legal entity make payments from an operating unit from another legal entity?
The bank account is setup in LE A, but when we create a payment process request with invoices from different OUs of different LEs, then only invoices from the LE in which the bank is setup are selected for payment.

1.OU's are not mapped to LE directly (at least for Payables). The OU LE relationship is derived via the ledgers. So if Ledger A is attached to OU A and Ledger A is attached to LE1 and LE2. I guess what I am saying should be possible.
2.If I understand correctly the new functionality that you are refering to is for the Payment Process Request (PPR, payment batches in 11i). This feature is more wrt MOAC changes that were done and not Cross OU payments.
What it allows you is to select invoices from different LE,different OU's, different Currencies and different pay groups. It does not allow you to have Invoice in OU1 and payment for that invoice in OU2.
    Thanks

  • Import Purchase Requisitions from one Operating Unit to a different Operati

The need is to import Purchase Requisitions from one Operating Unit to a different Operating Unit.
There are 2 operating unit with one inventory orgs in each. But the 1st is OU( It is a club) merely creates Purchase Requisition, and its not a advisable process to have a separate Purchasing process in that OU as it is too small ( but for financial reasons it has to be defined as a separate OU). So we want the Purchase Requisitions created in the 1st OU to be imported in the 2nd OU. Is there any way we can achieve this. Note: Since Order Management is not implemented we cant use the Internal customer setup and we wont like the PO to be created in the 1st OU as we do in standard Intercompany invoicing process.
    Any solutions/Pointers/workaround for this.
    Regards,
    Manoj

As long as you have the same master org in the 2 operating units, all you have to do is
    INSERT INTO mtl_system_items_interface
                (organization_code, segment1, transaction_type, set_process_id, process_flag)
       (SELECT '&new_Org', msi.segment1, 'CREATE', 100, 1
          FROM mtl_system_items_b msi
WHERE organization_id = &old)And run the Import Items request.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
    Just simple ...
You can take the Operating Unit (OU as you said) in the where condition of you query...
    e.g.,
    where
(p_parm_ou = :ou or :ou is null )

  • Generate different Supplier Number Sequence for One Operating unit!

    R12.1.2
    Dear Gurus,
We run multiple operating units under one Business Group and each of them are independent entities of their own with separate ledgers and currencies based on the territories.
We generate Supplier numbers automatically for all territories.
But, now we have a requirement from one of the territories that we need to generate supplier numbers in a different sequence (starting from 40000000000 onwards) just for that territory. We still would like to generate supplier numbers for the other operating units (territories) using the standard sequence.
Is this possible? If yes, please give details.
    Thanks,
    -Venkat

    Hi Venkat,
Supplier Numbering configuration is not operating unit specific, hence the same numbering would continue to happen in the environment/application instance ...
The workaround would be turn off Automatic and switch to Manual numbering and check with the feasibility of having a customization and Personalization for meeting the requirement ....
    Reference:
How is Supplier Number assigned in R12? [ID 1252934.1]

  • R12: Is Inventory setup mandatory for Operating Unit setup?

    Hello,
I am doing the setup of an operating unit for a business on a fresh R12 install.
Is the setting up of the Inventory Organization (with all the info like e.g material account, cost of goods sold etc) is mandatory even if the business will not setup inventory module?

This is not a required field and can left null.
Or If we do not have the Operating Unit with "Inventory Organization" as classification, an error will popup when setting up payables?
The problem is that, we have to ask the client about the accounting key for material, COGS etc... and he want to know why we need this since he does not use Inventory module.

  • Credit limit on customer which cross multi-operating unit

if we have two operating units under one set of book, these two operating units(OU) owns a common customer. i wants to setup a single credit limit, and let system calculate all open uninvoice shipment & unpaid amount of these two OU, and decide if hold the new shipment.
now we are using 11.5.10 ebs, i want to if the standard function could do that.
BTW, if there is a SO with credit hold, the system will calculate in planning module or not.
    Edited by: user12050014 on Aug 3, 2011 6:51 PM

    Hi
While carrying out the dynamic credit check, the system considers the Horizon period while calculating the open items also just like the open orders. The system will not take the entire open item value and on that value which falls due within the horizon period will be considered.

  • Fusion : Legal entity Transfers

When an  employee changes legal entity in fusion , the work relationship with old legal entity is ended and a new work relationship is created with new legal entity.
Also new assignments and assignment dependent entities are re-created.
In EBS we don't terminate the assignment when there is a legal entity transfer and its very simple process too.
Kindly clarify why Legal entity transfers are made so complex in Fusion

    Hi!
Try MOS doc 437725.1. That should help.

  • FUTURE VERSIONS Legal Entity / Cross Operating Unit Direction

    Hello,
I am aware that the Multi-Org Team is in the process of redesigning MO to allow a lot more Cross-Operating Unit (built into Legal Entity?) functionality over the next 18 months to allow users to work in a responsibility but across Operating Units. e.g. allow cross-Operating Unit Receipts in AR.
Is there a Statement of Direction for new MO work or some initial analysis I could get hold of that would assist us in planning our roadmap for the next few years? Dates are less important than direction / functionality of what will be available. I'm aware this may not be available for public distribution but we'll truly appreciate all help.
We are one of the larger European sites, currently running 57 books on R11i single-instance (GL, AP, AR, FA, PO, SSP5). We have upgraded to 11i and EFCed last year. We are now in the process of strategic planning for a complete restructure of our Financials system to match a new legal and operating structure. We are looking ahead 2-3 years down the track here.
If there's someone in Oracle (or elsewhere) I can speak to get this information, I know SAS will be quite happy to do this - also we are quite aware that the information implies no commitments from Oracle.

Shaan- the Org Hierarchy is where I can't see the connection: Legal Entities in the org hierarchy are HR organizations, but Legal Entities used in Intercompany Billing setup (e.g. Provider/Receiver Controls page) are GL Legal Entities setup in Accounting Setup Manager. Do you know how does the system connect HR LEs to GL LEs?
