Enterprise one BSSV using ADF

Hi all
I wish it is the right place to post this question. I been spend some time to find the right place right question.
I am a EnterpriseOne (E1) developer and new to ADF because of new E1 pushing BSSV (businese service/ web service) technology.
In fact Metalink does have little cookbook for JDEV 10g 120903.1, which using WS proxy way to call BSSV.
However, I start using JDEV 11g ADF using ADF and found some cool stuff like here (Complex data type
http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/web_services_with_complex_data ) and here ( Agile tutorial
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/testcontent/adf11g-agile-131400.pdf ).
It tell 11g ADF (WSBC) does have easier and better way for complex type WS. And I have problem to access BSSV (web service)
1. WSBC did not pass WS security header information to BSSV and result wsse error in Soap.
2. If it configure BSSV (on JDEV OAS) not use WSSE. I got 'nil' in ADF output from result.
I can not go any futher on Metalink and I would like to see any pepole have some experence like me.
And we can share some information

At first, many thank for very helpful PSFT link.
In the link, I found the devloper never input id/pwd in WSDC. I believe PSFT web servie was turned off the WS security.
Then I disable OAS (WS/wsse security) for the BSSV (E1 web service). And WSDC able invoke the service without wsse error.
However another issue is come. When the page is load/init the brower will pop up an error message "Internal Server Error (Caught .... no where clause is desired.".
If user by pass the error. The system (button/method) is working fine. POP up messsage will happen again if user is load the page again.
log belows:
<SOAPProvider> <handleFault>
The Web Service call generated a SOAP Fault :
[env:Server] Internal Server Error (Caught exception while handling request: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException:
Invalid Array length. WhereClause conditions array passed to WhereClauseBuilder is empty.
Please use emptyWhereClauseBuilder construct if no where clause is desired. )
<SOAPProvider> <handleFault> Verify if all the necessary parameter values are provided correctly and confirm to the schema constraints as defined in the WSDL
<SOAPProvider> <handleFault> If the service requires any SOAP headers, Verify that they have been correctly defined in the request
<SOAPProvider> <handleFault> The Web Service may have generated an exception in an attempt to handle the request, and has returned a SOAP fault to indicate that exception.
<WebServiceConnectionMessages> <debugExecuteFailure> Failed to execute a SAAJ interaction.
I would like to by pass the error message. Is the error caused by WSBC or BSSV. Do I need to do something to delay some init process for WSBC

  • Using select one choice in ADF...Interesting!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi All,
    I am developing web page using ADF frame work and using a component <af:selectOneChoice> and using its inline style inlineStyle="width:400px;".
    this keeps the sizeof combo fixed for 25 characters, inorder to maintain the cosmatics of the page.
    Now when combo has values having 100 character only 25 characters are visible making it difficult for end user to select the appropriate choice. so is there any way that on mouse over we get a tooltip stating the complete statement . in few of the web pages i have seen such option.
    Any idea how to implement it for ADF core component?
    Or if any one has some innovative idea please let me know

    Hi,
    the shortDesc property defines the tooltip. So you could use EL to have the tooltip getting populated with the current selection using PPR

  • Using ADFS with SharePoint Foundation 2013?

    We have a WSS 3.0 web site used primarily for sharing documents with business partners who do not work for our company.  We plan on doing the 2 step upgrade to SharePoint Foundation 2013
    Our internal users also use it but normally just use internal network file shares if they aren't planning to share the documents with external users.
    Each business partner's company has a sub site within our main WSS site and documents are uploaded to that section of the site if we want to share documents with employees of that company.
    Since we use AD for authentication, to make this work, we create AD user accounts for each external user and add them to a security group that gives them access to only their company's subsite on the main site.
    We have to maintain their passwords, reset them and delete/disable them when that person no longer needs access.  Each business partner has a limit on the number of users who can get one of our AD accounts due to limits on the number of CALs available
    to them.  It is messy because these users often forget their passwords since they aren't using these accounts every day.
    Is there a better way to do this so that we no longer have create and maintain user accounts for external users other than having to do a domain trust with all these other domains?
    I have heard of ADFS, but will it allow us to still control which sites and documents the external company users can access if we are not creating and managing the accounts and adding them to the correct security groups ourselves?
    We don't want every user from the partner's domains to be able to access the site.  If we use ADFS, how do we keep control of which external users have access to the site?

    Yes, you would add permissions just the same way you do with users from your local Active Directory. And yes, if you chose the email address to be the user's identifier, you would simply ask for the email addresses that you wanted and input those to the
    appropriate permissions on your SharePoint sites.
    You'll want to take a look at this:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/russmax/archive/2013/10/31/guide-to-sharepoint-2013-host-name-site-collections.aspx
    Also another thing to keep in mind is that you'll need to have those 3rd parties set up ADFS themselves, and you'll create an ADFS Trust between you and the 3rd party.

  • How to create a movable box using adf faces (without using oracle composer)

    Hello All,
    I am new to adf and i need to create a movable box . A box which the user can move anywhere he wants on the page and he should be able to minimize and maximize it.
    (ex:igoogle).
    According to my requirements i need to do it using adf components
    any help please

    Hi,
    as you need to persist the user change, you will need to have a look at MDS. See 31 at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/index-101235.html
    It has a createDepartments.jspx page that allows users to move the input text fields around. You can use code similar to the one used here to move panelBoxes

    Oracle supports feedback form metalink was; "What you exactly want to approach is not possible in Htmldb"
    I can guess that it is not
    exactly possible since I looked at the forums and documantation etc. but
    couldnt find anything similar than this link; "http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/htmldb/howtos/tabular_form.h
    t". But this is a very common need and I thought that there must be at least a workaround?
    How can I talk or write to Html Db development team about this since any ideas, this is very important item in a critial project?
    I will be able to satisfy the need in a functional way if I could make the
    select lists in the tabular form dynamic with the noz_id;
    SELECT vozellik "Özellik",
    htmldb_item.select_list_from_query(2, t2.nozellik_deger, 'select vdeger
    a,vdeger b from tozellik_deger where noz_id = 10') "Select List",
    htmldb_item.text(3, NULL, t2.vcihaz_oz_deger) "Free Text"
    FROM vcihaz_grup_ozellik t1, tcihaz_oz t2
    WHERE t1.noz_id = t2.noz_id
    AND t2.ncihaz_id = 191
    AND t1.ngrup_id = 5
    But what I exactly need i something like this dynamic query;
    SELECT
    vozellik "Özellik",
    CASE
    WHEN (t2.nozellik_deger IS NULL AND t2.vcihaz_oz_deger IS NOT NULL) THEN
    'HTMLDB_ITEM.freetext(' || rownum || ', NULL) ' || vozellik
    WHEN (t2.nozellik_deger IS NOT NULL AND t2.vcihaz_oz_deger IS NULL) THEN
    'HTMLDB_ITEM.select_list_from_query(' || rownum ||
    ', NULL, ''select vdeger a,vdeger b from tozellik_deger where noz_id = ' ||
    t1.noz_id || ''' ) ' || vozellik
    END AS "Değer"
    FROM vcihaz_grup_ozellik t1, tcihaz_oz t2
    WHERE t1.noz_id = t2.noz_id
    AND t2.ncihaz_id = 191
    AND t1.ngrup_id = 5
    Thank you very much,
    Best regards.

  • Flash File not Able to Display using ADF Trinidad components..

    Hi All,
    I am trying to display a flash file using ADF trinidad component for one our project but not able to display when embeded inside the code.
    However I am able to directly access the flash file using http://localhost:7101/test/pages/test.swf
    The below Object code is included inside the tr:panelHorizontalLayout tag. I also tried using tr:media but doesnt display anything on the browser.
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=10,0,0,0" width="210" height="230" id="footer_ad1" align="bottom">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain"/>
    <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false"/>
    <param name="movie" value="http://localhost:7101/test/pages/test.swf"/>
    <param name="quality" value="high"/>
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff"/>
    <embed src="http://localhost:7101/test/pages/test.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="210" height="230" name="test" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave- flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"/>
    </object>-->
    Thanks
    Chetan

    Hi Ramandeep,
    I tried that option early but did not work. Not able to understand why.
    Below is the code snippet.
    <tr:panelGroupLayout layout="vertical">
    <tr:panelHorizontalLayout>
    <!--Some Portlets are added-->
    <f:verbatim>
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=10,0,0,0" width="210" height="230" id="footer_ad1" align="bottom">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain"/>
    <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false"/>
    <param name="movie" value="http://localhost:7101/test/pages/test.swf"/>
    <param name="quality" value="high"/>
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff"/>
    <embed src="http://localhost:7101/test/pages/test.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="210" height="230" name="test" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave- flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"/>
    </object>
    </f:verbatim>
    </tr:panelHorizontalLayout>
    </tr:panelGroupLayout>
    And as I mentioned it works fine when I directly access the flash file by using http://localhost:7101/test/pages/test.swf.
    Thanks

    Hi All,
    I am implementing a simple scenario wherein i have an ADF Business Component (a simple drop down) and a command button. On click of the button, there is a navigation from one jsp to another.
    I am able to portletize a simple application using ADF Business Component.It runs fine when run on local.
    But when i put it on portal, navigation does not work.the control is not transferred to the method of backing bean.It is not showing loggers either.

  • How to refresh a table of data after inserting a row using ADF BC

    Hi,
    i am using ADF BC, JSF to construct a page to browse and another to create/update record. But after creating or updating the record it is not reflected when i come back to browse page.
    I tried to insert invokeaction in page definition page but i can not find the iterator bindings for that table in Binds option.
    can any one provide any example how to do it.
    Please help me.

    On the page def for your submit page, add inside the executables (on the structure pane) your iterator you want refreshed (if it isn't already there).
    Then double click on the submit button and bind it to a backing bean. My method in the backing bean looks like:
        if ( !operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty() )
            return null;
        DCBindingContainer dcbindings = (DCBindingContainer)bindings;
        DCIteratorBinding appsIter = dcbindings.findIteratorBinding("ApplicationsIterator");
        appsIter.executeQuery();
        return null;
    }The executeQuery method will refresh that iterator for your return page. The "ApplicationsIterator" is what the structure pane calls your iterator. Works for me.

  • ITS 6.20 (External) connected to a R/3 4.7 Enterprise. We use the EP 7.0

    Hello,
    We have a ITS 6.20 (External) connected to a R/3 4.7 Enterprise. We use the EP 7.0
    We have updated the ITS to the patch 33, beacuse we wanted to see it with the firefox 3.0. But now sometimes the IE7 & IE 8 does no show what it has to.
    Before the update, the firefox did not work but the IE 7 & 8 worked correctly.
    We have used the iTS generator of the EP 7.0 and nothing, it still work incorrectly.
    I want to know if I have to publish always the IAC in the external ITS 6.20.
    Can Someone help me please?
    Best regards.
    Pablo Mortera.

    Hello Thom,
    We did upgrade of R34.7 to ECC 6.0 SR3 EHP3 and we were able to complete this one day downtime. I am not sure about EHP4 but it should not take much longer. I beleive you should be able to accomplish this in weekend.
    My suggestion is to do a system copy of PROD to a sandbox and perform test upgrade. By doing this you will know
    1. what issues you will have during actual upgrade
    2. Tunning that you can do to reduce downtime.
    3. SPDD/SPAU adjustments can be evaluated.
    By repeating couple of iteration on sandbox. You can estimate what would be your downtime and what you can do to reduce it.
    Regards,
    Praveen

  • File upload, download using ADF UIX and not JSP

    I have examples for the file upload, download using JSP
    But I want to use ADF UIX. Look and feel in this is impressing and I want to use this. Any one have example for this.
    Users will select a file from their desktop
    This will be stored into the database (Any document. Word, Excel)
    When they query the records then the UIX column need to give a hyperlink. Clicking on the link should prompt to download the file to the local system

    Sure, I use the Apache Commons File Upload package, so that is what I will discuss here ( [Commons File Upload|http://commons.apache.org/fileupload/] ).
    The Commons File Upload uses instances of ProgressListener to receive upload progress status. So first create a simple class that implements ProgressListener:
    public class ProgressListenerImpl implements ProgressListener {
        private int percent = 0;
        public int getPercentComplete() {
            return percent;
        public void update(long pBytesRead, long pContentLength, int pItems) {
            if (pContentLength > -1) { //content length is known;
                percent = (new Long((pBytesRead / pContentLength) * 100)).intValue();
    }So in your Servlet that handles file upload you will need to create an instance of this ProgressListenerImpl, register it as a listener and store it in the session:
    ServletFileUpload upload = new ServletFileUpload();
    ProgressListenerImpl listener = new ProgressListenerImpl();
    upload.setProgressListener(listener);
    request.getSession().setAttribute("ProgressListener", listener);
    ...Now create another servlet that will retrieve the ProgressListenerImpl, get the percent complete and write it back (how you actually write it back is up to you, could be text, an XML file, a JSON object, up to you):
    ProgressListenerImpl listener = (ProgressListenerImpl) request.getSession().getAttribute("ProgressListener");
    response.getWriter().println("" + listener.getPercentComplete());
    ...Then your XMLHttpRequest object will call this second servlet and read the string returned as the percent complete.
    HTH

  • Navigation problem in JSF portlet when using ADF

    Hi All,
    I am implementing a simple scenario wherein i have an ADF Business Component (a simple drop down) and a command button. On click of the button, there is a navigation from one jsp to another.
    I am able to portletize a simple application using ADF Business Component.It runs fine when run on local.
    But when i put it on portal, navigation does not work.the control is not transferred to the method of backing bean.It is not showing loggers either.
    jdev version :10.1.3.3
    oracle portal :10.1.4
    Standalone OC4j : 10.1.3
    If any one has working model of this, can you pls post the files used.
    Also , if anyone has work around for same, it will be helpful.Thanks.

    Regards,

    Hi George,
    can u brief me on what exactly do you need ?
    I am implementing a simple POC wherein i have made a ADF business component (which is just a DB fetch ) and i am dragging the same on index.jspx page.I have a command button on the same page which when clicked directs me to welcome.jspx.(it first goes to managed bean and returns success.)
    And i am portletising this .. all this works fine on local ... even on portletising it runs fine .. But when i register this portlet on oracle portal .. navigation between index.jspx and welcome.jspx does not work.
    If you need more inputs,let me knw.I have uploaded configuration files in my previous post.Also i am not getting any error when i am trying to make it work on portal..
    Regards,
    Alpa

  • Help required building ADF-Swing/ADF-Faces using ADF Business Components

    My question is in regards to how you can go about building a light swing application to an ADF model?
    In particular if I were to say that we were developing a 3-tier project whereby we had a database tier, a series of EJB-ADF façade session beans to the database (middle-tier), and a swing client communicating with the session beans (view-controller tier), how would you go about developing these screens?
    In particular can we develop these screens using ADF-Faces and also ADF-Swing?
    The EJB session façade beans of course are ADF app modules with customised methods. The methods would return back customised DTO objects. These DTO objects are wrappers to row objects ADF would create. This would be mainly due to making these facade beans web service enabled (Oracle state that these methods cannot return oracle.jbo objects if they are to be web service enabled).
    This would be typically deployed to an app server, like Oracle App Server 10G.
    Could you please have a look at this, as I am doing a lot of research into this.
    eg. Taking example from oracle magazine sept/oct 2006
    with slight enhancements
    package oramag.frameworks.example.common;
    import oracle.jbo.ApplicationModule;
    import oramag.frameworks.customdto.EmployeeDTO;
    public interface HRService extends ApplicationModule {
    void deleteCurrentEmpAndCommit();
    EmployeeDTO findEmployee(int employeeId); // new method
    import oramag.frameworks.customdto.EmployeeDTO;
    public class HRServiceImpl extends ApplicationModuleImpl {
    public void deleteCurrentEmpAndCommit() {
    Row empRow = getEmpView().getCurrentRow();
    if (empRow != null) {
    empRow.remove();
    getDBTransaction().commit();
    public EmployeeDTO findEmployee(int employeeId)() {
    EmployeeDTO employeeDTO = null;
    EmployeesImpl employees = getEmployees();
    employees.setNamedWhereClauseParam("EmployeeId", employeeId);
    employees.executeQuery();
    if(employees.hasNext()) {
    EmployeesRowImpl employee = (EmployeesRowImpl)employees.next();
    employeeDTO = new EmployeeDTO(employee);
    return employeeDTO;
    public EmployeesImpl getEmployees() {
    return (EmployeesImpl)findViewObject("Employees");
    Now given the above code snippet, how could you turn this into an ADF-Swing/ADF Faces application so that if a user using the swing application enters an employee id, then the application will execute the query on the app server, the app server in turn returns the results to the client, and the client finally display the results. Typical MVC example.
    Cheers
    Rodney

    The tutorial is for ADF BC used with JavaServer Faces.
    While the tutorial doesn't cover it, we also support drag and drop development for Swing and visual WYSIWYG layout for Swing panels and windows, too. For a very simple example, watch screencast #4 on my blog here:
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2005/06/24/jdeveloperAdfScreencasts.html
    One thing I have noticed is that when using ADF business components, when the app module returns a custom DTO object like the above example, it returns the data in a element structure according to the data control palette.
    You don't generally ever need to create your own custom DTO's when working with ADF for use by client UI's. The only situation where can be necessary -- until we simplify this in the JDeveloper/ADF 11g release -- is when you desire to expose custom methods that can return sets/arrays of typed row structures through a web service. However, web services are not involved/required in building 3-tier Swing applications.
    When dropping onto a page it does so like a string and doesnt give option to display the data in a read only form etc. Is there anything we need to do, to get the functionality.
    It's more of what you don't need to do :-)
    Just leverage the active data model that the ADF application module provides. You can read more about it in section 4.5 "Understanding the Active Data Model" of the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers on the ADF Learning Center at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/adf/learnadf.html). Your UI's bind to view object instances in the data model, and your UI's are automatically kept up to date without needing to write methods that return data. I short article I wrote that preceeded my writing the ADF Developer Guide content on this topis is here:
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2006/01/26/theAdfBusinessComponentsActiveDataModel.html
    I know that when dropping a view object you get this functionality. Also was wondering if we were to pass an object of thios type back to the model it might not give us the rich functionality like input forms, like what Oracle provides if we were to drop a enitity view object.
    Just use the active data model and everything becomes totally easy, with no changes required to switch between local or three-tier deployment configurations.
    Trying to do everything with hand-coded DTO beans is really going the hard way.
    Could you help us regarding this?

  • How to create a floating layout using adf

    Hi ,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g to develop an application.
    I am coming across problems when i am trying to build the look and feel.
    Basically i want to develop as per the following link.
    http://webfusion.kcmo.org/coldfusionapps/ActionCenterRequest/getstatus.cfm
    I have been able to create the layout using adf layouts and components(af:panelStechlayout, af:panelgrouplayout), but the problem i am facing is that i want the entire page to scroll and have a floating layout.
    But in my case, the panels are scrolling, so when i resize the browser or change the resolution, everything appears to be broken in parts.
    Besides to recreate the above layout i have to include everything under the "center" facet, hence using templates is creating issues.
    following is the code i am using(just the structure code), this looks preety simple but i am not able to figure this one out.

    Try creating a layout that uses a panelGroup scroll as the top container and use panelBorders inside it.
    Something like this:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='windows-1252'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"

              xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
              xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich">
      <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252"/>
      <f:view>
        <af:document id="d1">
          <af:form id="f1">
            <af:panelGroupLayout layout="scroll" id="pgl1">
