Entitlement Banner Problem

In the new version of the viewer builder you can't set a fixed height for the entitlement banner anymore. Does anybody have a working example of an entitlement banner for this new version which can be shared as an example? It seems to me that there is an error concerning the height of this banner. If you start the app the banner in horizontal orientation, switch to portrait mode and back to horizontal, you can see that the height of the horizontal banner space is different.

I've attached three images to demonstrate the slightly erratic behavior of the entitlement banner.
Picture 1 shows the height of the banner after you've opened the application. Picture 2 shows the banner after you switched to portrait view and picture 3 shwos the banner after you have switched back to horizintal view. Do you notice the different heights of the banner in the images 1 and 3. For demonstration pusposes the html is only a white background.
Is there any way to avoid this error. Or will this error be fixed in the next viewer version?

Slideshow Entitlement Banner

I have a universal binary for my DPS app and would like to use the Slideshow Entitlement Banner for my library. I'm having an issue with scaling for both devices since there is no way to upload separate assets per device.
Is my only solution to find a happy ratio of the banner that works on both iPhone and iPad?

Ok great we have come up with a workaround for the time being.
We are going to use the dpsapps to host our iPad banners and will host our iPhone banners from our current web hosting. However I have uploaded the files to our webserver but it produces no banner. I've inserted the Hello World text at the top and that shows, but no images appear. What am I doing wrong? Is there something i need to comment out in order for me to host the slideshow on my personal server?
we have done some troubleshooting and it seems that it gets stuck at parsing the data.json file. Do you have suggestions on the problem?

Slideshow Entitlement Banner Using the Store Configurator

I want to create a simple banner with two states. One that shows only when you are not logged in and a second that only shows when you are logged in. I used the DPS Configurator and selected Slideshow Entitlement Banner, added two slides, the first with "Hide if entitled to latest issue" checked, and the second with "Hide if not entitled to issue" checked. So far everything is working as expected.
But here is the problem. Our app is using restricted distribution to entitle Group A only to Group A folios and Group be to Group B folios. If I am logged in as Group B the banners display as expected, but if I log in as Group A they do not. The problem is that the latest issue is entitled to Group B, since it was published a minute after the Group a folio.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the response but this will not work, because if a member of group a signs in they will still see the slide prompting them to sign in as well as the slide saying they are signed in.
Is there any other way to accomplish the same thing?
I wanted to see if I could edit the code so I tried to download the zip file and load the files on our server, but then nothing is being displayed in the banner area.

White background Entitlement banner

Currently when i switch my viewer app from landscape to portrait i get a white background within the entitlement banner.
Is there a way to change the background to transparant or a different color? I tried some things within CSS and such but i keep getting that white section.
It's not a major issue it just doesn't look very slick or professional.

I had the problem with the offline assets not loading as well, but that seemed to be resolved in version 22 for me. Now the offline banner displays correctly for me.
The problem i have is that that white background is also appearing when you switch from portrait to landscape. You notice it especially if you have a dark or colored banner. As i said it's not really a functionality problem it just looks bad.

Entitlement banner not showing up after upgrade to v32

I had my app built for iPad in version v31 which worked fine . But with recent upgrade to v32 entitlement banner doesn't appear in the library. I am using Third party entitlement service. Nothing has been changed in that server but somehow the entitlement doesn't appear in the app no matter what.

Entitlement-Banner: How to add Subscribe-Button

Hi all,
I have an Newsstand with Entitlement App where I now am redesigning the Entitlement-Banner. It now should include a 'call-to-action'-button for subsription.
Means, if an user clicks on it, the iOS subscription dialog should be initialized.
Well, I don't really have a clue yet how to proceed on that. Is it correct to handle it like this?

Replace "static" Entitlement banner with "slideshow" Entitlement banner in html implementation of default library v3

I'm currently in the process of updating an existing Enterprise DPS App. I'm using the online "DPS Configurator" to create an updated iOS7-style HTML implementation of the default library (v3). I also want to implement the DPS Configurator's Slideshow entitlement banner. Is there any documentation on replacing the static entitlement banner with slideshow entitlement banner for the custom HTML implementation? Or is it one or the other? If I can incorporate both, do I have to manually replace static with slideshow banner in code (via DreamWeaver) or will it replace when I go to App Builder. I should also mention that this isn't a true entitlement App, I'm just using Ivan Mironchuck's article... Adding HTML banners to non-entitlement apps | Adobe Developer Connection "fake out" technique to include an entitlement banner in the first place on existing v1 of our current app. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Problems with Direct Entitlement API ( problems to download the issuenumbers and others)

There is no license or serial number for the DVD installer.
If you can get access to a Mac with a working DVD Drive, make the DVD into a .dmg file in Disk Utility and then copy the .dmg file onto a USB key and install onto your Mac from that.

Homepage banner problem

I have a simple animation on our homepage
(www.alliedelec.com). I have been putting these banners on the
homepage for sometime now, with no prob. In the last few months,
people within the company have complained about getting hung up on
the homepage- when they type something into the searchbox above the
banner, it won't let them leave the page. And this week a customer
complained about freezing up (on our homepage only). When I replace
the flash with a static image, the problem disappears. The only
thing I can think of is that I've somewhat recently implemented a
preloader into the .fla file. Below is the preloader code as well
as the embed code. I might also mention that it's going through a
banner manament application, if that makes any difference. I really
have no idea what's causing this. Any insight would be greatly
appreciated.

Ad Banner Problem with Firefox but fine with IE

Hello Ajax,
I have created my second websites name greencityaac.com under my L:\aacix\greencityaac. When it underconstruction I save all the files under location aacix folder and I have no problem to browse greencityaac web on either Firefox or IE.
But after I moved to a new location such as L:\GreenCityAAC, I got the message and cant view flash when I tried to browse greencityaac.com on Firefox but fine on IE.
“ java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: fprotate.class “
Is it related to java paths after I moved it to the new location? I already copied fphover, fphoverx, fprotate and fprotatex from aacix to greencityaac but still have problem.
Can you please help? You can take a look greencityaac.com on Firefox and IE then you will see what I'm trying to say.

Flash banner problem

Hay I have put a flash Banner at the right side of my site [removed by moderator] its fine on Mozilla Firefox but i don't see it on Chrome and other browser including Safari.
I don't know why this is not showing. Help please.

Normally when Flash content does not appear in a web page it is due to improper embedding code in the html page. You should let Flash publish the html code for the file and copy/paste it into the html page.

Android slideshow/library banner issue

Hi,
I'm updating my DPS legacy Android app to a native one. I'd like to maintain the offline/online banner mechanism that the legacy app had, so that I could change the online banner whenever I wanted.
There's a way to do that in the Store Configurator, using the Slideshow Entitlement Banner option. But when I'm testing the dev app, after uploading the zip file, the banner does not appear.
When I add a custom library, its banner appears, but there's no option to add the offline/online banner mechanism. Is there another way to add it?

Banner Height at Viewer Builder

At V20 Viewer Builder,
Banner Hight is set 0 ~ 0.375 (the percentage of device's hight occupied by the banner when displayed in the library view. Valid value is between 0 and 0.375).
What is the library view size?
V19 Viewer Builder, I set Banner Hight 180px (switch images for horizontal/vertical by CSS),
so I set 0.23 at V20 Viewer Builder, on horizontal viewer it works good, but on vertical view it doesn't.
Do I have to create html bunner for V20 Viewer Builder ?

The percentages will be different amounts based on the orientation, which would be problematic unless the banner can account for this, if I understand correctly. There was also another bug on top of this.

Entitlement & Subscribe banners (V.25 & V.26)

Hello guys,
We work with a Multi Folio with Entitlement and iTunes Subscription app.
Ever since V.25, the subscribe banner is no longer shown by default in library view. However, it is still mandatory to Upload subscription images.
Moreover, in V.26 the banner sizes have changed so that the height of the vertical and horizontal banners are not identical.
Since there is now only one container in which banners can be shown (the one where the entitlement banner is shown) we decided to resize our entitlement banners so that they fit the subscribe banner specifications. However, you can not set a different fixed height for the vertical and horizontal orientations. Setting the height in percentage also doesn't work, as the max height is 40%, which is less than the specified mandatory height for the subscribe banner.
Any insight on this?

That's answer my first question, but I'm still wondering about the entitlement banners height. Let me be more specific:
In The entitlement details screen in need to pick height: fixed in PX or % -or- relative by % (1-40%).
I think 'fixed' is a good choice, because as the iPad orientation changes, the banner height should change as well. I rater use the relative height instead.
So, my question is:
How do I calculate the banner size percentage, do I need to calculate the 'inner' screen size (between top & bottom tabs) or relate on the full size. In addition, Is there any different between iPad 1&2 and Retina?

Are there examples of what an iPad screen looks like enterprise level no store front with an entitilement banner?

It seems like every magazine I open that is DPS has a store front. We want to create ours with an entitlement banner, a subscription button, and hide the iOS subscription. I would like to see visual examples of this. We are going in that direction soon and I also would like to know what other resources I will need so I can get any design work done before the launch. Another quick question… When I am creating my test app and I am in the Certificates & Push app builder screen, why is the "Enterprise signed viewer app" grayed out? Shouldn't this be something I can select as an enterprise level app? Reason I am asking is when I side loaded the "new" test app it looked just like our Pro version. I haven't created an entitlement banner yet, but was wanting to see a subscribe button… The app detail is "Multi Folio with Entitlement and iTunes Subscription.
