Entry in Cluster Log

Hi,
I'm getting this error within my cluster log as was hoping someone could decipher it.

Hi,
Could you provide more information about your environment. for example,What is the exact text of any error messages that you received that are associated with this problem?  The server version of the problem on, when you experience this issue what are
you trying to do, when  this problem occurs the system log record information, screenshots is the best information.

  • Entries in clustering log for DFSR checkpoints

    Hi,
I am looking through our cluster logs trying to rule out errors and I notice a repeat instance of this error for all of the cluster disks every 5 minutes:
ERR   [RHS] Error 161 from ResourceControl for resource Cluster Disk 80
This seems to be related to other behavior happening at the same time related to DFSR. What I think is happening is that DFSR resource is checking the validity of the path on each physical disk until it finds the one the replicated folder is on (the last
entry) and then tries to create the checkpoint file which already exists. Does anyone know why it keeps scanning through all the disks and not just the relevant disk? Also is there a way to stop it spamming the log with this information every 5 minutes if
it is normal behaviour? This is happening on all our nodes and resource groups with DFSR configured.
Note I have truncated the GUIDs:

  • Cluster log and etl files

    We have a windows 2008 R2 cluster.
A few days ago, we had issues with this cluster.
I openend the cluster log, hoping to find the cause of the problem. But the last entry in the cluster log was dated 14 december 2013. Also the modified date of the failoverclustering.etl files is 24 december 2013. This is also the last time the
    cluster was restarted.
(Yes, we are a little behind with the MS security patches)
If i have read some articles correct, then the Windows Event Tracing (ETW) process on each node should constantly writes to etl files. Correct?
If that's the case, what could cause this problem?
In windows 2003, the cluster.log was automatically generated. Do i have to create the cluster.log manually in W2kR2?
    Thanx.

Ok. So with W2kR2 you have to create the cluster.log manually
Yes, i could see some errors in the system eventlog. Like this one:
    Event 1146, FailoverClustering
The cluster resource host subsystem (RHS) stopped unexpectedly. An attempt will be made to restart it. This is usually due to a problem in a resource DLL. Please determine which resource DLL is causing the issue and report the problem to the resource
    vendor.
I will generate the cluster.log. Hopefully i can see what was causing this problem
    Thanks

  • How to see events in /var/cluster/logs/eventlog file?

    Hello,
I want to see events in /var/cluster/logs/eventlog file.
I read about showev4 but I have two problems:
    * this executable is only for SPARC system and we have x86 systems
    * I transfer the file to a SPARC system to try to analyse but I get a core.
    Best regards,
    Emilio J.

Transferring a SPARC binary to an x64 system will not work. They are completely different chip architectures. I think the eventlog file is for support staff only. It is not documented in the SC manuals as far as I can tell.

  • 5320 cannot cancel single sms entry in call log

    Hi,
I've a problem, my nokia 5320 (s60 3rd) cannot cancel a single entry from sms log. The only solution I have is to cancel the complete log (calls as well).
Reading the forum I understand it's a limit of s60, someone is suggesting codes (but I really don't know how to use them) and someone else is suggesting a software (but they never mention the name).
Can someone be so kind to give me the name of a s60 application (if free better..) able to perform this task?
    Thanks

  • Failed Printing to Windows Printer - no entry in error log

I cannot print to a windows printer (smb://mydomain/thePrinter).  I enter my username and password when prompted for authentication, but then nothing happens.  I checked the access_log and error_log, but there is no record of the failure.  If I add a new printer using a bogus URI (smb://bogusdomain/thePrinter) then I see entries in the log about a failed connection.  In contrast, if I use the correct domain and indicate a bogus printer name (smb://mydomain/BogusPrinter) there are no entries in the logs.
How can I determine why the windows printer is not responding?

Apparently, the System Preferences tool for adding smb printers is broken in the initial release of Lion and can be worked around by using CUPS directly.

  • Incremental entries any control/ log

    Hi,
    this is very urgent.
Is there any flexibility in the system where in period is closed but entries are made, and we can have track of incremental entries.
    would appreciate your help ASAP.
    regards,
    AK

    Hello,
Generally if period is closed no entries can be made.
but period is closed for specific type of transactions then only power users have the speciall access to open and then post.
    so for these entries
you can do it by using Authorisation group. Each user is assigned to an Authorisation group. So few users after period closing they can post using specific authorisation group and then post the entries.
So incremental entries can be logged on.
there is one more way based on Entry date also.
    Hope
    Thanks

  • The local node entry in Cluster Configuration information does not match wi

In installing 10.1.0.3 CRS on Solaris 8 x86, I keep getting the error, "The local node entry in Cluster Configuration information does not match with the entry in /etc file." Both addresses are defined in the /etc/inet/hosts and are pingable. There seems to be no way to get past this issue. Earlier I installed 10.2.0.1 CRS on SLES9 SP2 on a system with the same network settings and had no problem. Is there some way to force the installer to accept the addresses given and proceed past this step?

    All,
I think there can be two problems
    1.
if your host file looks as follows
    # Public
    192.168.2.x rac1.localdomain rac1
    192.168.2.x rac2.localdomain rac2
    #Private
    192.168.0.x rac1-priv.localdomain rac1-priv
    192.168.0.x rac2-priv.localdomain rac2-priv
    #Virtual
    192.168.2.x rac1-vip.localdomain rac1-vip
    192.168.2.x rac2-vip.localdomain rac2-vip
then you should be able to do rsh or ssh sucessfully for each aliases at least one from each nodes
    (ex)
    on node rac1
    ssh rac1 date
    ssh rac1.localdomain date
    ssh rac2 date
    ssh rac2.localdomain date
    2. you should create user equivalance on all the nodes as follows
Edit the /etc/hosts.equiv file to include all the RAC nodes:
    +rac1 oracle
    +rac2 oracle
    +rac1-priv oracle
    +rac2-priv oracle

  • My break points are writing a entry to a log

can somebody explain why a break-point in my code in an update or start routine would casue an entry to the log when loading data?  I've had these before and should not be hit if running in back-ground.

Well, if you want to hardcode, just check for the username.
Put a if condition to check the username, and if its you, then you can have the break point. Well, am not very sure why its creating a log entry. But you can probably avoid this with the workaround i suggested.

  • How to schedule Cluster logs to be generated for Microsoft Failover Clusters 2008 R2

Hi, As per my understanding we always have to generate Cluster logs manually on the cluster nodes to get these generated.
Is there any way we can schedule Cluster Logs to be generated every time so that it would be easy for us to analyze the issue?
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin-Steve,
Are you trying to realize the cluster log generated automatically with schedule? As far as I know there don’t have this function in failover cluster, but you can use PowerShell
cmdlet to create a schedule task.

  • DistributedCache entries in SharePoint Log

    Hi,
I notice that my log on WFE filled out with lots of entries for DistributedCache, do you have idea on how to turn that off?
Calling... SPDistributedCacheClusterCustomProvider:: GetValue(object transactionContext, string type, string key).
Successfully executed... SPDistributedCacheClusterCustomProvider:: GetValue(object transactionContext, string type, string key).
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Edwin

    hi Edwin,
The Distributed Cache service provides in-memory caching services and does not have a dependency on databases for several features in SharePoint Server 2013. Some of the features that use the Distributed Cache service include:
    Newsfeeds
    Authentication
    OneNote client access
    Security Trimming
    Page load performance
When the service is enabled, these features use the Distributed Cache for quick data retrieval. Blob Cache and Output Cache do not use a distributed caching service since these types of cache exist on each Web Front End server in the farm.
The Feed Cache depends on the Distributed Cache service. Tags and document activities are saved only to the Feed Cache. Tags and document activities are not persisted to content databases. When the Distributed Cache service is stopped, tags and document
activities are lost. When the Distributed Cache service is started, repopulation occurs when the feed cache repopulation timer job runs. For more information, see Manage Feed Cache and Last Modified Time Cache repopulation in SharePoint Server 2013. One way
to maintain the tags and document activities is to use the method described in Perform a graceful shutdown of the Distributed Cache service

  • Renewed lease messages in cluster log

I just started a cluster of 2 servers, and so far it seems to be working
ok. I'm alarmed, however, that the log file is being saturated with

cluster, 2114 is the listen port and 2124 is the SSL listen port.

  • Kregedit entries for cluster

Can someone show me what a properly configured cluster looks like in
kregedit? I have just installed two instances of iAS on the same machine -
just to prototype a cluster. My kregedit entries for each are identical:
    SOFTWARE/iPlanet
    Application Server
    Clusters
    NASCluster
    MaxBackups=1
    MaxHops=1
    MaxSyncHeartBeat=10
    SyncHeartBeatInterval=30
    SyncTimerInterval=60
    SyncServers
    169.170.40.2:60818=0
    169.170.40.2:61818=1
I started 169.170.40.2:60818 first and then 169.170.40.2:61818. They both
started up fine and requests to the single web server for both these app
servers correctly sent requests to 169.170.40.2:60818, the primary. When I
stopped the primary I got the following in the kjs logs for
    169.170.40.2:61818:
    [21/Aug/2001 16:06:07:4] warning: DSYNC-045: We(0xa9aa2802:61820), lost

    that new Primary is 0xa9aa2802:61818
After all this, it appears that the web server isn't hitting
169.170.40.2:61818 and subsequent requests for the fortune servlet give the
    following:
ERROR: Could not connect to the requested service. Check if it has been
    started.
    Thanks,
    Lincoln

    Hi Lincoln,
Your cluster is absolutely fine there is nothing wrong with your
settings, and as the kjs logs says that the backup server is also fine
(taking over as primary). Actually the problem is with the application
which you are trying to access in a distributed manner.
By default the fortune application is not registered as distributed,
but if you want to have it distributed, than please make these changes
    in the iAS registry:
    - run kregedit
    - go to iplanet/Application Server/6.0/J2EE-Module/fortune node
    than
    - insert your domain name value in session-domain key.
    - modify the session-impl key value to distributed from lite.
    - insert the session-path key value as / (slash)
    - ensure that the key session-dsync-type is dsync-distributed
at the end, your key values should look like this -
    - session-domain=your.domain.name
    - session-dsync-type=dsync-distributed
    - session-impl=distributed
    - session-path=/
Note: you should make these changes in the registry of all the iAS
servers that are participating in your cluster, or you can redeloy the
fortune app. on all the servers, with appripriate deployment
    descriptor.
Change the load balancing method for all iAS servers to Round
Robin(Web connector Driven). You can do it from iAS admin tool, go to
Load Balancing tab and change it.
Than restart the two web servers(iws) and the two iAS servers in the
    cluster.
Note: start the highest priority server first.
Now you should be able to have the distributed session with fortune
    also.
The clustering and the distributed session failover can be better seen
through the clustering examples/samples provided with iAS, like
    clustering-servlet and clustering-jsp.
    Please see the page:
    http://<hostname.domainname>:<http-port>/ias-samples
for all the sample applications tha comes with iAS and
    http://<hostname.domainname>:<http-port>/ias-samples/cluster/docs/index.html
    for cluster related sample application.
If you have any further doubts, please mail me back.
    Regards,
    Sanjeev.

    [21/Aug/2001 16:06:07:4] warning: DSYNC-045: We(0xa9aa2802:61820), lost
    connection to the Primary, 0xa9aa2802:60818

    1) (conn 0x78a590, sock 33, host 0xa9aa2802, port 0)

    [21/Aug/2001 16:06:21:5] info: DSYNC-038: We(0xa9aa2802:61820), are told
    that new Primary is 0xa9aa2802:61818
After all this, it appears that the web server isn't hitting
169.170.40.2:61818 and subsequent requests for the fortune servlet give the
    following:
ERROR: Could not connect to the requested service. Check if it has been
    started.
    Thanks,

  • Not able to delete a single entry from a log or me...

I am using Nokia Asha 311. I could not find the option to delete a single call entry from the call log.
In messages, it gives the option to select the mesage but when I select a single message it also selects the All messages checkbox.
So how to delete a single call entry from logs or a single message.

You just need to long tap an individual entry in log or contacts and an options menu will appear up.
It gives you many options including delete.
To long tap, you just need to keep your finger there for around 1 second. Hope it helps.
