Environmental Varaiables to be set,while using Weblogic 10.0

Hi,
I am Anubhav Gulati from INDIA.I have BEA Weblogic 10.0 on my machine.
I have made a servlet ,while i am trying to compile the class file it gives me error as:
My file name is : SomeServlet
SomeServlet.java:2: package javax.servlet does not exist
import javax.servlet.*;
^
SomeServlet.java:3: package javax.servlet.http does not ex
import javax.servlet.http.*;

location: class SomeServlet
HttpServletResponse response)

SomeServlet.java:8: cannot resolve symbol

According to me,I have to set the Environmental Variables for that(class path,path..)? So can you help me regarding this.

You need to have the J2EE classes in your classpath while compiling. I've never worked with Weblogic so I don't know what the JAR is named. With Tomcat it's either servlet.jar or servlet-api.jar. A quick Google search suggests it's called 'weblogic.jar'. Use this in your classpath.

    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. I have checked that Native I/O is enabled,but it seems JMS can't find correct .so file
    Any idea? Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,

    We are also getting the same error on a Linux 10.3.3 installation with 64bit jrockit
    Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5
    Linux 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5 #1 SMP x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    Is that the correct driver? This is a default weblogic installation, what is missing so it uses the correct I/O method?

  • Exception while using weblogic datasource in ADF-BC app

    Hi,
    I want to use the weblogic datasource[JNDI name] as the datasource for my ADF BC application.
    I am following the "Configuring Your Application Module Database Connection" in the link
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/b31974/bcservices.htm#CHDJDBJB.
    I have done the following steps.
    1.Started weblogic server and configured a datasource[ex:testbcDS]
    2.In JDeveloper,navigated to 'Configuration' panel,edited the '**ModuleLocal' and changed the connection type to 'JDBC DataSource'.
    and Datasource Name to 'java:comp/env/jdbc/testbcDS'.
    3.In JDeveloper,wrote a stand alone Java client with the following snippet.
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    try {
    String amDef = "oracle.communications.platform.bcapp.poc.app.AppModule";
    String config = "AppModuleLocal";
    ApplicationModule am = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config);
    ViewObject rscGroupVo = am.findViewObject("IfwRscGroupView1");
    rscGroupVo.executeQuery();
    4.On execution of this the following exception is being displayed in the console
    oracle.jbo.DMLException: JBO-27200: JNDI failure. Unable to lookup Data Source at context jdbc/testbcDS
    at oracle.jbo.server.DBTransactionImpl.lookupDataSource(DBTransactionImpl.java:1418)
    at oracle.jbo.server.DBTransactionImpl2.connectToDataSource(DBTransactionImpl2.java:309)
    Please let me know if I have followed correct steps and let me know the missing/wrongs steps I have done.
    The same works fine when the connection type is 'JDBC URL'.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Praveen

    Hi,
    After your suggestion I created weblogic data source with name as 'jdbc/testbcDS'
    and JNDI Name as 'jdbc/testbcDS'.
    Still I get the same error.

  • How to use weblogic.Admin to set JMS ErrorDestination property on WLS 7?

    This thread is talking about using weblogic.Admin to set the ErrorDestination property.
              http://forums.bea.com/bea/thread.jspa?threadID=200036378&messageID=202187327&start=0
              We run the script against the WLS 7.0 server, script get 'OK' result but it didn't work (property wasn't set). Some error is reported in the admin.log on the server.
              We also run the scipt against the WLS 8 server. It worked perfectly.
              Does anyone know whether this works at all on WLS 7?

    The reason we are using weblogic.Admin is that we are using conf2admin to generate the scripts. weblogic.Admin seems to be the only option for WLS7. Thanks for your suggestion and will definitely check out WLST.

    Install ClamXav and run a scan with that. It should pick up any trojans.

  • Short Dump while using BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT to set Project Definition Status

    Hi All,
    I am getting a short dump while using BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT for setting the Project Definition status..
    The requirement is to create a Project Definition and then set its status to REL from CRTD. For this purpose i am using the BAPI's in the following sequence :
    1. BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION
    2. BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN
    3. BAPI_BUS2001_SET_STATUS
    4. BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT
    5. BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
    The Proj Def creation is happening successfully in step2. Interestingly, when I debug the program and stop at PRECOMMIT BAPI the program does not give a dump. I have also tried to give COMMIT WORK / WAIT FOR n SECONDS after BAPI_BUS2001_SET_STATUS, to give BAPI sometime for DB update but nothing seems to be a permanent solution.
    Please give your views on a solution for this problem..
    Thanks & Regards,

  • How to set ENV variable using user profile in solaris 10 while using ssh

    Hi,
    Please help me in setting the environment variable using user profile file while using ssh method of connection (Can I use the same ~/.profile file?)
    when i am logging in using the telnet, the environment variable is automattically set, but not when I am using SSH.
    Thanks in advance
    ushas symon

    Please list your .profile and a ls -la of your home directory.
    also list the result of env after your logged through telnet and ssh.
    There should be no difference - it depends mostly on your login shell which startup script it executes. ksh uses .profile, bash: bash_profile then .profile.

  • Performance issue in linux while using set with URL object

    Hi,
    I am facing performance issue while using Set(HashSet) with URL object on linux. But it is running perfectly on windows.
    I am using
    set.contains(urlObject)
    Above particular statement is taking 40 sec on Linux, and only a fraction of ms on windows.
    I have checked the jre version on both OS. It is the same version (jre6)
    on both the OS.
    Could anyone please tell me what is the exact reason, why the same statement is taking more time on linux than windows.
    Thanks & Regards
    Naveen

    I believe the URL hashCode/equals implementations have some /tricky behavior which involves network access in order to run (doing hostname lookups and the like). you may want to either use simple Strings, or possibly the URI class (i think it fixed some of this behavior, although i could be wrong).The second new thing I have learned today. I was wrong in reply # 1 because looking at the URL code for 1.6 I see that the hash code is generated from the IP address and this has a lazy evaluation. Each URL placed in a HashMap (or other hash based collection) requires a DNS lookup the first time the hash code is used.
    P.S. 40 seconds does seem a long time for a DNS lookup!

    Have a look at this...
    http://www.smartmarmot.com/2011/10/workaround-to-the-issue-ora-01882-timezone-region-not-found-when-connection-to-oracle/
    In your case your still running the installer... So you'll probably have to set the option on your JVM directly...
