  • EP5.0 Custom .par File Does Not Work in EP6.0 SP2

    I have a .par file called CustomerSearch.par that is used in EP5.0, and I am now trying to get this .par file to work in EP6.0 SP2.  I noticed the directory structure changes, so my .par structure is this:
    CustomerSearch.par
    -->  portal-inf
    portalapp.xml
    lib
    CustomerSearch.jar
    TableViewExample.class
    pagelet
    TableView.jsp
    I am getting the following error in the portal console logs when I try to access the component after I have uploaded the CustomerSearch.par file.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi Bernhard,
    nice to hear that we resolve the problem
    > Karstens answer solved my base problem,
    > Detlevs answer lead into the right direction.
    Not that I've that need for points...
    It's just the question why my answer (if you follow the link, my answer was: delete two lines, from which one is essential to be deleted) only "lead into the right direction"... In fact, it solved the base problem, I would claim for me
    To give the technical background: If your write
    <property name="ComponentType" value="jspnative"/>
    the portal runtime expects a component consisting of a native JSP; the second directive -
    <property name="JSP" value="pagelet/InitialPage.jsp"/>
    - for this case tells where to find this JSP. So if you delete the first line, <i>at least</i> the second line has no sense anymore. To clean up such a portalapp.xml, it just makes sense also to delete the second line.
    Best regards
    Detlev

    Hello Nageshwar,
    the likely root cause of this issue is the lack of permissions for the user on the shadow instance.
    Please review note #592514 and check your users' rights accordingly.

    Hi,
    Building the ear file is not the problem.
    The deployment fails.
    Seems that somehow I dont have those jars on the server.....
    Aviad
    Edit: I've done a search on the server and all the relevant jars are there, none is missing.
    Whats next?

  • Problem while importing Iview in EP5.0

    Hi All,
    I am working on EP5.0 SP6. I tryied exporting one java iview. After export .pkg and .ivu files are getting exported but .tpl files didn't get exported.
    Now when i tried to import same iview in portal, it is showing error .tpl file is missing .
    can somebody tell me where should i look for the .tpl file. i have the .par file.

    Hi,
    We had a similar problem with a servlet (in .war archive) calling the local
    interface of an ejb (in .jar archive). The problem is that in Weblogic, you
    have to create an .ear (Enterprise Archive) that contains the .war and the
    .jar if you want to call the local interface of an ejb (this restriction
    doesn't apply when calling the remote interface).

    After application of Java SP20 I have the same error:
    "Error occurred while initially starting application sap.com/tcmobileadminea:Application sap.com/tcmobileadminea cannot be started. Reason: it has hard reference to resource  tc_SL_SDM_Client with type library, which is not active on the server.#
    On our J2EE we are not able to find the "tc_SL_SDM_Client " service or library and the property files seems to be ok.
    Before the application of Java SP20 the J2EE was working fine.
    DO you know in which SCA/SDA  the tc_SL_SDM_Client  is supposed to be ?

  • Error when running EP5 iView on EP6

    Hi all.  We have to migrate quickly from EP5 SP3 to EP6 SP9.  We have a number of custom coded iViews which use the deprecated jcoclient methods.
    From the Netweaver developers studio we import and export a Java iView thats running fine on our EP5 SP3 portal and get the following error while trying to preview it on EP6 SP9.
    Portal Runtime Error
    An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    com/sap/util/proxy/jco/BasicTable.
    Exception id: 11:40_07/12/04_0003_4009750
    See the details for the exception ID in the log file
    Is it possible to do what we are trying to do with basic EP5 JCO (non pooling) iviews?  Will this work if the iview uses JCO Pooling?
    Thanks for your help.
    Bjorn

    Hello Bjorn,
    If you please elaborate a bit regarding your use of the deprecated/old JCOClient methods, I will try and find out if there is a problem with them.
    Best Regards,

  • Java Web App for EP5 SP5

    Hi
    Recently I developed a Java web app for a Portal client.  The client is on EP5 SP5 with ITS and LDAP servers (a 3 server architecture).  I then used the deployment tool to create the necessary ear file and then successfully deployed it to the SAP J2EE Engine.  I then navigated to the following url:
    http://<portal_server>:8100/<web_app>/welcome.jsp
    However I am having trouble with the following:
    1) the jsp pages are not being rendered properly.  in fact welcome.jsp does not have any jsp tags at all but I am still getting a compiling exception.  as soon as I change the extension to .html the page is displayed fine.  issue: why am i not able to view the jsp pages.  error: com.inqmy.services.servlets_jsp.jsp.CompilingException ID 17013
    2) the web app I have developed utilises the sapjco functionality to connect to the relevant R3 system.  in my web app directory structure I have included the necessary sapjco.jar in the WEB-INF/lib directory but get the attached jco error. (I shouldnt need to set the classpath since the sapjaco.jar file must get picked up from WEB-INF/lib directory).  Error: At times I get a NoClassDefFoundError stopping at the line which requires the sapjco.jar file (where it uses JCo.Pool class) and at other times I get the "could not load middleware layer".
    I have tried numerous things to fix it but in vain.  Any thoughts around how I could go about resolving the issues will be greatly appreciated.
    Willing to provide screenshots if required.

    Hi Alon
    Thanks a lot for the info!!
    I have read the doco you asked me to have a look at and it sounds reasonable.  But the question that I have is that is it possible to successfully include the relevant jar's in the application's WEB-INF\lib folder?? I ask this since I would expect the SAP j2ee class loader to look at the required jar's in the WEB-INF\lib folder?!? (Also the section on "Adding a Reference from a Deployed Application to a Service or Library" talks about an app that may want to use resources from OUTSIDE the application EAR.)
    So if I use any jar's such as sapjco, xerces, activation and mail I will need to add them to the library.txt if they are not already there (which they should be since the portal uses them) and then add the reference in reference.txt.
    Your thoughts will be appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi Ravi
    I used the SAP J2EE Engine Deploy Tool to create the war and ear archives as well as deploy the ear archive.  As I used this tool I included the required jar files inclusing the sapjco.jar inside WEB-INF\lib of the web archive (WAR).  I tested this in a tomcat environment before deploying it to the portal environment.

    I would have expected EP5 to be able to find the appropriate jar files.  Especially since it has its own library of jar files to work with.  I was reading some J2EE Engine doco and came across two files library.txt and reference.txt.  Do I need to maintain these files as I deploy my application?
    Your thoughts will be appreciated.

  • Error inside TicketCreator (EP5.0 SP5 to SP6 upgrade)

    Is there anyone having this experience before?  Our original portal is EP5.0 SP5, with 1 lockserver box, 2 portal server box. within these portal server boxes, 1 with installation type  as "primary" and one as "clustered."
    The upgrade from original EP 5.0 SP5 to SP6 is perfectly fine for lockserver and "primary" portal.  However, for clustered node, after I have applied EP5.0 SP5 to SP6 upgrade kit, a launch of portal got an error message as "Error inside TicketCreator Failed to create SSO cookie. The cookie returned from the cookie creation URL returned an empty value."
    Any tips to this?  anyone have encountered this before and how to get it around, thks

    Hi,
    this is my first post in SDN.
    I installed EP5SP6 and got the same error message "Error inside TicketCreator Failed to create SSO cookie. The cookie returned from the cookie creation URL returned an empty value.".
    I found out that the error comes from the function "CreateTicket(userName)" in the file "TicketCreator.asp" in folder "\inetpub\wwwroot\SAPPortal\Common" (this function is called from "Default.asp" when no "MYSAPSSO2"-Cookie was found); it uses the "SAP J2EE Engine 6.20" in order to create a new cookie (in my case for "userName = admin") by calling the following URL:
    http://localhost:8100/irj/servlet/prt/prtroot/InitialLogonSupport.default?IntegrityToken=&URL=
    The response header from this URL is the following (Status = 200 => OK):
    <i>Server: SAP J2EE Engine/6.20
    Content-Type: text/html
    Content-Length: 631
    Date: Thu, 20 Apr 2006 13:04:56 GMT</i>
    The mentioned error occurs because there is no entry in the header with "Set-Cookie: MYSAPSSO2...".
    I also found out that the "MSXML4.DLL" is used for calling the above URL, so I modified the function
    "CreateTicket(...)" and inserted the following:
    if req.status = 200 then
    >>> INSERT
    CreateTicket = req.responseText
    exit function
    >>> INSERT
    Note: the function "responseText(...)" is defined in the interface "IXMLHTTPRequest" which is implemented in "MSXML4.dll"; you can find out other functions using a "TypeLib viewer".
    When I now call the portal again I see a Java runtime exception:
    java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: 14
    Now I realised that something in the URL must be missing; the source for creating the URL looks like that:
    url = url & "/irj/servlet/prt/prtroot/InitialLogonSupport.default?IntegrityToken=" & timeStamp & "&URL="
    The generated URL (see above) shows that the "timeStamp" must be empty, so the following code must fail:
    timeStamp = Server.URLEncode(encoder.TimeStamp(userName))
    The "encoder" is an instance of the object "HyRelEncoder":
    set encoder = Application("Locator").NamedComponent("HyRelEncoder")
    Now I'm at the end because I can't find any further information about the "HyRelEncoder" object. Maybe someone can find out more and help me to solve this problem,
    Oliver

  • HT1386 I have synced the items from itunes to an iphone 4 without problem, except the two albums I just purchased did not sync.  They show up on the itunes on my desktop and on my ipod, but not on the new iphone.  What do I need to do?

    I have an itunes account and an ipod, and when I purchased 2 albums on the computer they synced straight to the ipod.  I bought an iphone and used the usb cord from the computer to it to sync the itunes albums to the new phone.  Everything transfered, and those were albums I had uploaded (not purchased from the itunes store), except the two albmus I just purchased from the itunes store.  They appear on my itunes on the computer and ipod, but not on the iphone.  What did I fail to do or did I do incorrectly?

    This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.
