EPCM Error

Hi,
i have the following error:
EPCM not defined.
I create link in HTML page using the EPCM.doNavigate API and run this page in EP 6.0.
Someone can help me?

EPCM error when leave Webdynpro page ???

In Portal, when navigate from page with webdynpro iViews to any other workset or page, clicking in some node of the top level navigation, opening a windows alert popup , and said: Exception in EventDistribute occurred. Throw it to upper level?
And then click accept 4 times let me continue.
After trying multiple alternatives, the issue certainly is occurring when: I am in a page with at least one webdynpro java, and I go to another. That is, to leave or close the webdynpro iView has generated the problem.
When I choose "debug" the exception with MS Dev studio, I found this error code, this is the point when the exception raise:

Add this: not only when leave a webdynpro iview or page is the problem, also when resizing a webdynpro page in the IE.
Any change in the screen size, raise this popup error

Javascript error 'EPCM is not identified'

I am having an issue on one desktop that when the associate logs on to EP7.0 all they see if the branding image on top and rest of the screen is blank, the content is not loading. I saw in the bottom left hand corner that there was javascript error and when I went to view it it said 'EPCM is not identified'. I have checked the IE6.0 settings on this machine and compared to another machine that the portal is working fine on and from what I can see all the settings are the same. I am not sure what this error means??

Hi Kathy,
It sounds to me like there is some issue with JavaScript in the browser of that user. Double check that the user has enabled JavaScript for the portal site (you can do this easily by making your portal a trusted site for the browser under Tools --> Internet Options --> Security --> Trusted Sites --> Sites). Then I would recommend clearing out the cache Under Tools --> Internet Options --> General --> Delete Files --> Delete All offline content.
Close the browser and login again.

Javascript Error when calling EPCM.raiseEvent

Hi all!
   I'm having a Javascript error when calling EPCM.raiseEvent function. The error is :
   'The object does not accept the method or property'
Maybe the traslation is not perfect (I'm using spanish for my browser). Here is my call:
   EPCM.raiseEvent('myPar','myEvent','myParam');
What can be wrong?

   This error is very strange... I accidentally changed the event name at consumer, but not at producer.... and the error didn't appear... Obviuslly it did'nt work, but it's so strange that if the event is not cought, there is no error (but nothing happens)
   I also noticed that doesn't matter which event I raise (I have two of them), the error is thrown at the same line, and they have totally different caller and receiver functions....

EPCM Proxy error

Hello ,
I am getting this error while excuting the iview in RS_TEMPLATE_Maintian program.
I have seen the library where it says epcfproxy.js need to be included in the portal..
Can any one help me where this statement need to be included in the java script.
I tried includeing in the header part but still i ma getting the error. We have epcfproxy.js file in the Javasciprt Mime file

'Great EPCM failure' pop up in Portal

Hi,
We have integrated CRM in Portal instead of using CRM Web UI and on loading any transaction within this Role (TLN), we get a pop up saying 'Great EPCM failure'. This error doesn't come while navigating within other tabs/ roles on Portal. Please help in resolving the issue.

Error with HeaderiView.jsp file

Hi there,
I took the masthead par file from the portal and I did some changes in the HeaderiView.jsp. When I try the iview in the preview I see the next error:

Error occurs during the rendering of jsp component.

I already added the com.sap.portal.navigation.mastheadapi.jar in \PORTAL-INF\lib
and com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead_core.jar \PORTAL-INF\private\lib.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, I did some changes in Jsp file. I'm trying to make a copy of the Help Link. I copied all the components in the portalapp.xml (only changes, for example, <property name="ShowHelpLink" value="true">    <property name="ShowSiteLink" value="true">)

What may be wrong????
If I click anywhere on the table view it's giving a javascript error. If I try to select a row from the table also it's giving error for one or two times and on the third time i am able to select the table content and can able to navigate to the next page.

Error while accessing portal.....

Hi Experts,
We have installed EP 7.0 SP 9. It's working fine, but yesterday we met the problem, we can't able to access portal.
After giving username and password, its opening the portal homepage with the following JavaScript Error on the taskbar.
<b>1. 'disable personalize' is undefined
2. 'EPCM.getSAPTop().gHistoryFrameworkObj' is null or not an object
3. 'ActiveTrackingEntryIndex' is null or not an object</b>
After showing errors above, its showing the portal HomePage. If we click on any roles is loading with busy symbol, we can't able to navigate to any role or any workset after that.
Please tell me some solution for this, it's very urgent.

I also recieved this error. It took me a while to discover the problem. It is caused by the order in which .Net is installed. If when you go to Applicaiton Pools you do NOT see:
- ASP.NET v4.0
- ASP.NET v4.0 Classic
If you only see
- Classic .NET AppPool
- DefaultAppPool
- MBAMSitesAndSvcsAppPool
Then you need to re run the setup of .NET using the commands below:
Type cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\ and press <kbd>ENTER</kbd>.
Type aspnet_regiis.exe -ir and press <kbd>ENTER</kbd> again.

Parent.EPCM is null or not an object

Hi gurus,
I have created a portal page in pcd. And uploaded an html file in KM.
Now in this html, on click of a link I want to load the portal page of pcd.
So i wrote following script -

Please help me to solve this problem.

Hi Ami,
If you include the following line in the head of your KM html file it will work. This javascript contains the EPCM object. You need to change your doNavigate to just EPCM.doNavigate, so without "parent".

Included JSPs gives comilation error, even in the JBuilder plugin

Dears,
I'm making a web application, it contains a header, and footer JSPs.
These two JSPs are included in every JSP in the site, and I use the <%@ include The problem in this is that I define variables in every parent JSP including these two JSPs, but when I build my project using JBuilder, it gives me complation error as it tries to compile the JSPs and the vatiables are still not defined, as they r defined only when included.
This prevents me from deployment using JBuilder, also if I try deployment on SUN ONE 7 platform edition with precompile JSPs checked.
Do anyone know a solution for this?

IF you are using EPCF.doNavigate then you should give the iview address as the url. If should be something like this

Problem in EPCM in Light Framework

Hi All,
We are using 2004s EP 7.0.
We are implementing external facing portal using light framework for anonymous users. All the portal objects have anonymous authorization.
We have an iView in framework with code:
<a href ="javascript:open("ROLES://<pcd path>");">LINK</a>
And in the script tags:
<script language = "Javascript">
EPCM.doNavigate(pageID);
</script>
The iview corresponding to the pcd path is assigned to a role. But when we click on LINK it opens the iview but throws an error in Top Level and DetailLevel navigation Iview. But the same thing works fine in default framework.

Light Framework does not support EPCF. Light framework has some limitations and this is one of them. For more details about the limitations of LF, see the SAP note number: <b>853509</b>. You can also refer the documentation at help.sap.com

Error opening iView from footer

I have implemented an anonymous portal:
http://<host>:<port>/irj/portal/anonymous.
In my Light framework page I have kept place for a footer at the bottom of the page. This is an iView from a par file. Over here in a JSP I have:

The javascript function is:
function CallIView(pageID)
EPCM.doNavigate(pageID);
I have created a sitemap and assigned it to a Role. This role does not have an entry point.
On click of the SiteMap link as mentioned above I want the sitemap iView to open in the Content area.
It does open, but it throws an error of the detailed navigation iview in the navigation panel.
Is there some property that is missing.
Even if you make an entry point of the role, it throws this error.

Did you assign this role to the anonymous user?
Also check if your IView has Authentication Scheme to Anonymous.

Error running imported PAR on 7.31

I have migrated a simple PAR from 7.0 to 7.31 but I can not run it.
I get the following error message:
"com.sap.engine.services.deploy.exceptions.ServerDeploymentExceptions: Application sap.com/MyApp cannot be started. Reason: it has hard reference to library:com.sapportals.portal.prt.component, which is not active on the server because library is not deployed on server. Probably application sap.com/MyApp declares runtime but no deploytime dependency to the library which is wrong. Hi Aviad,
Did you ported your Application to 7.31 or you
just used the PAR migration tool?
If you only used the PAR migration tool it is
very likely that the application will not work.
From 7.0 to 7.3 onwards, there were huge
changes on the Portal and many libraries were removed/changed causing 7.0
applications not to run on 7.3.
Please check the link below on how to port the 7.0
applications to 7.3.
